It is incredible and scary how "young" people have no clue how HUGE and UNIQUE Madonna is in the pop world. Madonna practically INVENTED modern pop and all other pop acts have been inspired by her, if not even copying her. There is no "today's Madonna".
@Moon Vision who’s she pandering to? I think she’s being unapologetically herself, like it or not. If she were pandering she would put on a cardigan and act the way the public want her to lol
@Moon Vision she gets a lot of crap for working with people who are hot at the time but it’s a popstar’s job to be popular, why wouldn’t she? I agree she’s better when she works with unknown or less mainstream people like she just did with Mirwais but man we give her a hard time. I haven’t seen any other fan base be as tough. I guess expectations are high because of who she is but honestly she’s doing what she wants to be doing and we can respect it or stop following her. You can choose to just listen to her old stuff and not think about her anymore.
@Moon Vision you probably have no paid attention to her last album... also, her instagram, what does it have to do with her impact? all the female singers on this day, owe everything to her...
This video is from 1995. It was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York and displayed there. It was the very first music video to be acquired by a museum as a piece of art. It recreates surreal paintings like "A Little Night Music" by artist Dorothea Tanning and several paintings by Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington. It also contains elements from Sufism (the mystical side if Islam) like the twirling dancers called "dervishes". They say that when they twirl they get unconscious and they become one with God and have access to the secrets of the universe. Please react to "Vogue" or "Human Nature" 🔥
guys-because of her impact on pop culture, you don't have 'your version' of Madonna. there is no other version of Madonna. only the one that keeps evolving. 🤗❤️
Such a great song and video! There is NO Madonna now, it’s still Madonna! She brought about so much of what you guys have now, but no one will actually replace or displace her ;)
Guys c'mon Madonna is MJ and beatles level ....I'm in your generation too but it's bluddy Madonna , the queen of pop ....her cultural and social impact was massive ....we covered her in an anthropology class in college !!!
There's no new version of Madonna, guys. Madonna is one of a kind. She is the 4th most successful artist in music history. She is the most successful solo artist in tour history. She has invented everything you see in popular culture nowadays. She has done literally everything in music, videos, tours. She has created new worlds with her vision. Lady Gaga or any other artist after her may have big talents but Madonna has everything.
I love how both of you pay attention. She based the video mostly on the art of famous female surreal painters and artists. Leonora Carrington and Frida Kahlo to name only two. Madonna is so smart and ahead of her time. She earned her incredible success by workin' hard and pushing buttons and asking questions and then taking all the shit for it and always just getting straight back up and coming back more determined and creative. She is incredible and one of a kind. React to more of her videos that spans over almost 40 years. So much to discover. Check out an infamous one like Erotica(uncensored version) or even Justify my Love from 1990-which was banned from being broadcast. Maybe God Control or Dark Ballet from her last album from 2019 called Madame X. It'll stop you in your tracks. J
Madonna is the biggest female music star ever to this day according to Billboard magazine. No one has ever had her musical, global, cultural , visual and all around impact . She is the biggest pop star ever. she is a global Icon and phenomena . This video is all about leaving your body and taking a mind trip and opening your third eye. This was directed by Mark Romanek who went on to become a big Hollywood director. This video is pure art and the only music video that is part of Museum of Modern Arts (MOMA) NY permenent collection. This is song is from the incredible "BedTime Stories" album , that gave Madonna her longest running #1 song "take a Bow " that was number 1 for 6 weeks. Also The video for "take a bow "from this album is gorgeous and won MTV's video of the year award . This album also has the classic song "Human Nature " with its incredible video directed by the legendary artist Jean Baptist Mondino. If you watch another Madonna video make it "Human Nature ".
She will never be equalled...her power...her art...her uniqueness...every other pop girl simply followed. I would love for you guys to react to her "Rain" video.
OMG !!! You guys are so connected with each other ... So good to watch, like... the video got more then 10 min and I can't feel the time at all.. Another thing is ... To describe what Madonna represents on her work and music are not for everyone ... She is what She is for a reason, her songs, videos, everything are making sense in the end, only a sensitive and open mind person and I should say "Clever" can see that. Love Madonna and now I love you guys too. Can't wait to see more reactions of her from you. P.S. react to "Ghosttown" you will love it. And see how Madonna are still creating amazing songs this days and been so Relevant ;).
Madonna is a true icon legend. She is the highest selling female recording artist of all time with 335 million records sold worldwide. Madonna is a huge and dominated the charts for over 30 years. Madonna in the USA has had 12 no.1 hit singles and a record 38 top 10 singles of all female artists
You cannot underestimate the level of success and impact Madonna had from 85 onwards.. And unlike many artists she has creative and commercial peaks across the decades. She's in the DNA of popular music like The Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson but is probably most like David Bowie as they both change the sound of their music to reflect whatever art, film and literature they currently enjoy or even wherever they live at the time
Surreal is the right word. Most of the video is inspired by the art of surrealist painters Remedios Varo and Leonor Fini. Also, as much as I like your reactions, you guys talk about Madonna as if she were completely irrelevant today. She’s still releasing music and kicking ass. She may not be the hottest thing out there but she still reaches number one on the charts, sells out tours and breaks records (and rules!). In fact, you guys should consider reacting to at least one of her newest videos- “Medellin” or “God Control”, for example.
Madonna is the Queen of Pop. This video is a surreal representation of the unconscious mind -- a dreamscape if you will. I believe Bjork wrote this song.
Madonna Bedtime story was released 1994. BTW Madonna has never stopped making music, 2021 she still has a new album. This song is her dreaming you are right all has a symbol. Great reaction
Hello guys! I see you took my suggestion and I knew it would be mind blowing. “Bedtime Story” is the title track of Madonna’s album from 1994 “Bedtime Stories”. The song was written for Madonna by Björk, at a request from the album producer Neelle Hopper. In the video is a sleeping experiment and Madonna is obviously dreaming. Your interpretation is correct when it comes to not even try to rationalize because that’s what happens in dreams. “Bedtime Stories” is an R&B album but it evolves to this song that musically goes to another extreme: electronica, that along with R&B was the style that was becoming more and more popular in the middle 90’s. Coincidentally this is a hint for Madonna’s next album “Ray of Light”, that’s totally electronica. And her next video would from a studio album would be exactly “Frozen”. This video is part of MoMA’s audiovisual collection in NY. Now I would like to request you to react to Madonna’s “Dark Ballet”, from 2019, and Björk’s “All is Full of Love”.
I love you guys doing Madonna! Your reactions are so genuine and honest, keep up the @Madonna! The video is completely futuristic and special effected; like nothing before
The song is an exploration of the paradoxes of existence and the nature and use of art, the self and expression. This video layers Madonna’s then artistic inspirations with psychological references presenting them as a mind journey. It was a fitting time as the 90s rise of electronic sub genres, particularly trip-hop began to explore deeper lyrical material and sounds.
Love your reactions to Madonna.. and the detail you pick out... She's still making music x last album was 2019 and there's some videos there to unpick and unpack.. Dark Ballet... GOD CONTROL... Medellin... Id love to see you unpick and analyze them...
BTW ...This video was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and it's permanently displayed there as a piece of video art. It was the first music video to be acquired as a piece or art in a museum
lol this video is from 1995 and Madonna was and is as big as MJ. During her imperial phase, she was even bigger than him. Mariah Carey and Gaga never reached her level of fame.
I love your reactions and how you really pay attention below just surface level, which is how all things Madonna should be looked at.Please do dive deeper into her 40yr discography, it is quite the unparalleled journey of a true living legend.
Madonna is still doing music today, she's just had a hit album with MadameX, one of the most musically exciting albums ever. And you don't have a music artist like her today, you still have her.
OF FATHER: That one would be interesting for you. Its the kind of video that appeals to anyone. Directed by David Fincher, it is exquisitly filmed in black & white, it is a visual testament of the great work that David did in the 90s with music videos.
This video was state of the art when it was released. People had never seen effects like this in a music video. They would play it at the big gay dance club and everyone would stop dancing and just stare at the screens.
It's really, really interesting how you both try to understand the concept of the video and what the artist tried to show on each work. Very different from others channels on TH-cam. Congratulations! You just got a new fan.
The video is one of the most striking and brings the surrealist influence of the artists Remédios Varo, Frida Kahlo, Lucien Freud, Leonor Frini, Leonora Carrington, among many others, under the eyes of the talented and brilliant director Mark Romanek (who had already directed the brilliant Rain video). The work is so important and significant to modern art that it is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMa). He had one of the most expensive budgets for a music video at the time, $ 5 million.
The part I like the most about the Bedtime StorY video is this 6:08 when Madonna floats and shows the different reactions of the little girl who is impressed, surprised and scared. The end also I find surreal Madonna with the face invested kkkkkkkkk
Madonna is like the beatles, elvis.. gaga doesnt even come close. She's the first female artist to tour big stadiums (filling wembley stadium 8 times a few years into her career). You don't know how huge she was. Even in the early 00s and later on she broke records. She's also the first with the most online livestreams (back in 2000). a record that still isn't broken. the other girls don't even come close.
Bedtime Story video was completely inspired by all the female surrealist painters like Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo. The one shot where her hands are up in the air and stars are spinning around her and Madonnaflying through the hallway with her hair trailing behind , the birds flying out of her open robe - all of those images were an homage to female surrealist painters; there's a little bit of the painter Frida Kahlo in there, too
Your analysis of her videos are great, I like the effort you guys spend on it. Some of her videos are simple, others are complex. So please keep them coming! The Ray of Light era has good ones besides Frozen, my favorite is Drowned World/Substitute for Love.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your interpretations, so much of them are very accurate. The video was inspired mostly by surreal paintings from different artists like Remedios Varos, Leonora Fini, Frida Khalo, Leonora Carrington, Lucien Freud, and as well From the movie "The color of pomegranates" (And I loved that you said that Lady Gaga would be the Madonna of this generation because she has been following the same steps and her work it's very similar, even her last video 911 was inspired as well from this same movie and it has similar connections from this Madonna video).
I've really enjoyed the two reactions to Madonna, hope there's more of her you'll react too. If so check out her live performances starting with the one that made her a star , like a virgin mtv awards 84
Madonna has no modern day equivalent, her impact is huge, Globally huge before internet and only the Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson have sold more records. She is also the most successful solo touring artist of all time. No Female singer is anywhere near her record sales globally, the nearest is Celine Dion and she is around 45 million records behind. She is still releasing albums which still sell and her last Album was number one in the States where she is not as appreciated as say in Europe. You are both quite sweet and articulate, please review the video for God Control, its a masterpiece. Love from the UK
She says in the beginning she never heard this song…no worries, I have never ever heard this song in any American radio besides SiriusXM 2019 Madonna month!!!
The videos iconography is inspired by surrealism, more specifically from some selected paintings from this genre (if yall do a google search you will find them). So in the video it's like she's on a acid trip and "meeting" the worlds depicted on those paintings, they came alive and she's a part of the surreal, a realm were meanings are profound, associated with images and not attached to day-to-day logic, just like the psychoanalysis description of unconscious.
Extraordinary video. And the lyric boollet says "lets get unconscious honey" yet she is clearly singing "on e" whilst showing poppy seeds. It's so clear but most people miss that lyric
I hate it when people say I listen to her older stuff!! Enlighten yourself, listen to her latest stuff it’s way better than the ‘older’ stuff. Just because she made music in the 80’s doesn’t mean she’s your parents era. Music has no age
It is incredible and scary how "young" people have no clue how HUGE and UNIQUE Madonna is in the pop world. Madonna practically INVENTED modern pop and all other pop acts have been inspired by her, if not even copying her. There is no "today's Madonna".
True
It’s annoying to be honest.

This is from the year 1995,uploaded on youtube on 2009,the music video is permanently on display in modern art museum nyc
I did tried to look for this video in MOMA NYC three times when I visited the city, never found it :(((((
As it always should!
Same I tried to find it aswell and I couldn’t see it, the video was the highest budget at the time for a music video

Never knew all this juicy behind the scenes info before. Thanks for sharing
guys-because of her impact on pop culture, you don't have 'your version' of Madonna. there is no other version of Madonna. only the one that keeps evolving. 🤗❤️
I will say to you both, YOU don’t have a Madonna with your generation. You just have Madonna, no one will beat the Queen 😏
Exactly. No modern female pop star has had the same kind of impact Madonna had.
Exactly. Madonna is not exclusive to just one generation. Shes the biggest female pop start EVER.
we all are lucky to have lived on earth at the same time that the queen, and mj , bowie, prince
all I could think was don't say Gaga...DON'T SAY GAGA....D'oh!!
and wait that even at her age she reinvents herself and comes back and has success
For reals? Cool..
Seriously! This woman is incredible and so important

ONE WORD: MASTERPIECE
You should keep reacting to her legacy:
Take a bow
Erotica
Human nature
Dont tell me
Ghosttown
Hung up
And react to her CONFESSIONS TOUR!

Don't even try to explain to millennials and younger generations...
Queen of pop
Madonna is the Queen of Pop. This video is a surreal representation of the unconscious mind -- a dreamscape if you will. I believe Bjork wrote this song.
yes she partially did, on behalf of a good friend of hers.
One of her masterpieces. Feels totally fresh today. it's just too good

Madonna the Queen. Thanks for the reaction. Her work is very enlightening. Take the journey it’s well worth it.
This was done in 1995, waaayyy ahead of the times. She pace the way for electrónica music and futuristic videos.
Love your reactions to Madonna.. and the detail you pick out... She's still making music x last album was 2019 and there's some videos there to unpick and unpack.. Dark Ballet... GOD CONTROL... Medellin... Id love to see you unpick and analyze them...

Fucking love Madonna ❤️
React to Madonna Vouge one of her classics!!

Please react to Nothing Really matters by Madonna
Madonna is still doing music today, she's just had a hit album with MadameX, one of the most musically exciting albums ever. And you don't have a music artist like her today, you still have her.
Madonna "Human Nature" music video reaction! A POWERFUL MESSAGE.

With the help of the magical Bjork madonna did this beautiful song
Bjork ! Is the master of this song 🎵🙌
This is amazing 🔥❤️
I would love to see you react to Bad Girl or Oh Father by Madonna. They are two of the four amazing music videos David Fincher directed for Madonna ❤️
You are in for a treat - no one makes videos like this woman ( Bjork is a second best - who wrote this song too ! )
More Madonna ♥
It is truly a uniquely artistic video & so I understand how it was hard to break down. Great reaction guys 💗 💫
It's really, really interesting how you both try to understand the concept of the video and what the artist tried to show on each work. Very different from others channels on TH-cam. Congratulations! You just got a new fan.

React to Bad Girl I promise it won’t disappoint! I love your guys’ insight !
Amazing reaction! Your comments are so clever and interesting. Please, continue to watch Madonna's art. 👏
Love your Madonna reactions! Check out Justify My Love” from 1990. First video banned by MTV. Collaboration with Lenny Kravitz
The LP was released in 1994.
Human nature ..madonna please! Saludos desde Chile.
The video is about her pregnancy, in 1996 she gave birth to Lourdes Maria Ciccone, her daughter, representing the transformation of Madonna.
You guys give awesome reactions, you are both well informed and articulate well. Awesome stuff
One of my favs!!!!!!!!💙💙👏🏻zane
Honestly, all other artists take up Madonna's fashion eventually
Queen!!!!
Excellent reactions and insights. 👏👏
You 2 are damn good...insight. subscribed!
The part I like the most about the Bedtime StorY video is this 6:08 when Madonna floats and shows the different reactions of the little girl who is impressed, surprised and scared. The end also I find surreal Madonna with the face invested kkkkkkkkk
I always thought it was a little boy
Yes yes yes, more Madonna I love it
React to Madonna- justify my love
Madonna is like the beatles, elvis.. gaga doesnt even come close. She's the first female artist to tour big stadiums (filling wembley stadium 8 times a few years into her career). Can u do justify my love from Madonna

Bjork wrote this song! Spectacular video!
It is so Bjork around this time - you can really tell. It reminds me of Hyperballad from her Post album.
Madonna is still releasing music. Her last album was Madame X in 2019 and she collabbed with Dua Lipa and Missy Elliot on "Levitating" last year 2020.
1:03::*crickets
Exactly. There's only 1 Coca-Cola baby 😂😂😂
I've really enjoyed the two reactions to Madonna, hope there's more of her you'll react too. If so check out her live performances starting with the one that made her a star , like a virgin mtv awards 84
Could you react to live to tell by Madonna
Queen
yay!
More Madonna please. Like A Prayer, Vogue, Ray of Light, Human Nature
..and of course remember young people Madonna she is an artist :)
It was written by Bjork for Madonna. She took inspirations from surreal painters and sufism to portray this lucid dream like sequence.
Madonna has no modern day equivalent, her impact is huge, Globally huge before internet and only the Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson have sold more records.
Very smart comments and opinions you deliver here. Love it! React to God Control. Will be in shock
