In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - ตลก
Sam did the drawing for James in series 7 for the most surprisingly beautiful thing. I love James and knowing he's friends with Sam makes me happy. Two little weirdos together.
That’s fuckin awesome
they're my two favorites of all time on taskmaster, I love this
That was Sam!??? Oh my gawd that makes me so happy
@@Jesse-lv2yoyeah James mentioned it a while back on the TM podcast, before this series. Caught that episode yesterday and got a chuckle out of that
I immediately had to return to Season 7 episode 9. Amazing. Hahaha.
I don’t know Sam yet but his difficulty in grasping the 3rd person rule and resulting insistence of applying royalty to himself bodes very well for the next ten weeks ❤
Who doesn't know Sam yet?
Aarrrghh! HE, the royal master... HE doesn't know Sam yet!
I genuinely think he forgot his name for a sec
he was quoting the big lebowski i think. he did call himself 'the dude' a few times as well
Sam sprinting away for no reason within a picture frame is a classic taskmaster tableau.
I'd say it's a classic Sam tableau.
He's always an odd ball like that!
Well he had to prove that he moves quickly
2:45
This better be his exit from every task!! 😆
I reckon he's a Meditations for the Anxious Mind Fan :)
The feeling I get from the cast so far is that they probably won't be that good at doing tasks, but very amusing and creative in their failings...😂
Greg referred to this series in the Podcast to a „carcrash“
Maybe that says something. 😅
The feeling who gets?
@@sternschnuppe9101 all three of the pictures are quite good.. I am surprised..
@@kischtrine They are probably saving the grade F art students until last.
Tho... i got that feeling from literally EVERY cast so far...
Sam’s inability to simply replace “I” with “Sam” is baffling 😂
I reckon he knows what he’s doing lol
Fuck yes. The energy he’s gonna bring to the show is going to be magnificent.
I actually think Greg will either genuinely fall in love with him, or try and perform an exorcism on him before the end of the season. I can’t decide which
Sam was also on a Never mind the Buzzcocks episode recently and it felt like Greg and Sam got along quite well.
I can't decide witch either.
@@kischtrineHe didn't do much, sadly (Sam on buzzcocks)
@@GAmbrose True... But I think one can tell really quickly if Greg is annoyed by someone or if he likes someone at least a bit :)
I feel like Greg will need to be Teacher Greg to handle Sam 😂
Todd had no idea who Sam is before this video but he now likes Sam a whole great lot.
Alan feels likewise!
As does Amy! (Tiny hat is the cherry on the sundae)
Anabelle feels the same way :))
Iris thinks that the fact that both Alex and the camera people keep breaking is a very promising sign!
We're still wondering who is he??
"Sam reflects fondly on the experience..." sudden shift of tone as memories surface "... with a feww smalll darrrk moments..."
Making Alex smile must be the best feeling in the world.
I wish I could. I can only imagine the pure joy. I wish I was amongst these people.
Alex is so tickled by Sam’s whole presence, I love it. 😂
Who loves it?
@@seangates900 They do.
Every series there are people doubting how good it will be, just because they've never heard of a few of the contestants. I think at this point, we should trust that Alex and the production team know exactly what they're doing.
For the most part, I agree. Casting has been phenomenal most times. There have been some duds though. IMO 9 and 15 were terrible.
@@dgpatter 9 and 15 were great in my opinion, especially 15, but i think 8 was objectively bad casting to have ian and lou on the same series. really messed up the energy (but joe was perfect). there definitely have been some duds, subjective though
Every time. People should know better by now and trust it’ll be good whoever’s in it.
Also it annoys me that every time people just excited about the famous one, and have never heard of hang the cast.. there hasn’t been a single contestant in the history of the show that I hadn’t already heard of, seems a lot of people need to do their comedy homework…
15 was amazing. Series 8 was an all round dud for me except Joe Thomas
@@heythisanimalcantalk 8 would probably be the next poorest for me as well. 9 could be influenced by Ed Gamble. I like him as a podcast host, but anywhere else I find him as funny as needle in the eye. I couldn’t even watch 15. Sat through two episodes and just went “meh” every time I saw another episode uploaded and ignored it.
Edit: Again, 15 could be because I have always loathed Frankie Boyle with the white hot heat of a thousand suns.
Not come across Sam before but I think he's going to fit in the taskmaster world just fine
if youve seen s7 hes the same guy who painted james acaster's episode 9 prize task (him with boobs and 2 dicks)
I didn't know him before he popped up on Buzzcocks and that told me he'd be great on TM.
Sam is a relatively newcomer to the UK comedy scene. He's only been around for a little over a year. He's quite known in Australia, IIRC.
Saw his fringe show and some WIPs since & he's a delight. Absolutely insane, but the hardest I've laughed in a long while. He threw a DVD of 27 dresses at me one time. Highly recommend to nab before he starts to sell out even faster
He was in the show bloods too
He talks like he forgets what he just said immediately after saying it, I love him
Sam also made the drawing of James Acaster that was brought in as James' contribution for the "most surprisingly beautiful thing". (Series 7 - Episode 9 - The pendulum draws the eye). - I've got this information from the "Taskmaster Podcast"...
that was him?? beautiful
I just listened to the podcast episode and came here to share this 😄
Knowing this, I just watched that prize task again. Now I like to think the whole reason little Alex had them draw his portrait, was because Sam drew that one of James. Ha!
@@melissaburkett9350 It definitely seems possible...
What a pile of rubbish where did they find this clown at the first episode of series 16 was bloody awful.
“Cyber bullying” then the little chuckle endears me so much
Wow he's quite the artist. Would love to see all finished pictures lined up together!
So far, I think all of them are quite artistic!
He was the guy that drew the picture of James Acaster with two dicks.
He drew the pic that James brought in of himself for a S7 prize task!
I've got a Sam Campbell painting in my living room. He used to paint one for a show each night years ago. It's of my old housemates holding a rugby ball while riding a pug
I’ve got that too but my pugs riding my housemate
Surprisingly decent drawing of Alex there.
He also did the portrait of James Acaster which was a prize from James in his series of Taskmaster (the one with James pictured with witches tits).
The tooth gap was a little reserved, but that's art for you.
Sam's art has actually been on taskmaster before! In season 7 episode 8 i think it was, James Acaster brought in a portrait of himself for a prize task, Sam was the one who drew it!
Yeah its good, really good! 😄
I've got a Sam Campbell painting in my living room. He used to paint one for a show each night years ago. It's of my old housemates riding a pug holding a rugby ball
"The second's nearly over." It would be amazing if that was the only earnest, genius one-liner Alex ever slid in, but they're just everywhere.
I love how Sam is like, the Alex's type of humor/comedian. He's a pro on poker facing all sorts of other contestants, but with Sam, even something that's not a joke gets to him
One of my favorite things Sam does is the conversation will have moved on and he'll cut in with a joke related the last thing they talked about. Like with the "Sam is no Michael Angelo" 😆 he did it a bunch on the Taskmaster podcast and I think it's hilarious 😂
Wasn't familiar with Sam before, but it's a good sign already that he cracks Alex up.
With watching interview after interview I am starting to understand Greg’s reference to a carcrash when he was talking about the series in the Podcast. I can’t wait!
Ooohhh, what podcast was that?😊
@@fimoize The official Taskmaster Podcast with Ed Gamble. Greg was on that. I think just after finishing series 15.
Thank you
Easel-y the best show on TV!
@@FlameGodFlann I don't know, I've heard some iffy things. Though they might've been framed, I suppose.
🤦👍
I'll wait for the new series to come out before I draw any conclusions. Don't want to paint things in the wrong light.
I'm getting the impressionism that y'all think puns are funny. I gesso I'll let them slide.
I find all of this a bit sketchy
This interview is a trainwreck, I can't wait to watch Sam in the series!
A perfect level of awkwardness
When he said, “Sam complies.” I was reminded of “the Dude abides.”
I'm really hoping Sam has a running gag throughout the season with his entrances and exits both were hilarious in this video.
It already is a bit of a running gag.
"upbringing...phew, cyberbullying...." - i CANNOT wait for this series
That run away that the end is real David Correos energy! I'm ready for it.
He's definitely the James Acaster of this series. Love his drawing!
My first thought too. This will be a great season🤣
Same thought as soon as he walked in! 😂
He is the one that drew James, definitely similar vibes 😂
Remember the drawing of James with two dicks that he brought in for a prize task. That was Sam's drawing.
Coincidentally James brought in a drawing of himself with witch tits for a prize task, and that was drawn by Sam Campbell
Never forget "I'm just glad I'm being talked about"
45 years feel a bit like a threat from Alex. 2068 will be a year of building traps and constant vigilance for Sam
"a few small dark moments" what a tease this is
Seeing Alex (and Greg for that matter) giggle just makes my day.
Just fyi, Sam was a writer on the latest don't hug me I'm scared tv show.
Armed with this information, I suddenly understood him a lot better
the part where Alex asks him to draw an appliance and he throws out "whisk" and surprises himself to recall that an electric whisk is, indeed, an appliance says a lot about Sam
These last two interviews really seemed like the third person thing completely broke their pattern of speech. Only Julian seemed to not lose his mind over it
Never heard of Sam Campbell before this series of Taskmaster but he seems to be the perfect combination of chaos and exasperation, so I have high hopes for him 😊
Taskmaster is a really effective platform for making me intensely fond of UK celebs whose existence I was completely unaware of prior to viewing the show. Love this show. Passionately adore the humans responsible for this TH-cam account as well. Just a transatlantic crush factory. ❤🥰❤
For me it was 8oo10cdc, WILTY and MTW. Less so 8oo10c because there would always be a few randos, and I got to the core people from the other shows. What’s great about TM is the longer series arc with the same panel; more room for in jokes, relationships, etc. The always-superb editing surfaces those elements so well.
Sam's an Aussie 🙃
_She_ was completely unaware
Gross but true. 😊
I think Sam was pretty much unknown to a lot of British audiences too (myself included). He's mostly been Auatralia based.
I'm just amazed at the high quality of all the portraits so far. I look forward to the arts-and-crafts task for this series.
I love these and how much you can see Alex loving the contestants during them.
For somebody who keeps correcting everyones grammar, "how long does who has" is going to chase Alex for the rest of his days.
You know it’s gonna be a good season when an entire cast I’ve never heard of before already feels like old favorites!
Definitely getting sold on this series already! The interview teasers are really doing their job 😅
absolutely delightful, everyone's been having so much fun with the interviews
also wow sam's actually quite good at drawing!
Sam's not a contestant I ever expected to see on Taskmaster (certainly not the British version anyway), but I'm so happy he's going to be. I don't think I've ever been quite so excited to see any contestant in action. As odd as he comes across in this video, I think it's only a taster of what a weirdo he really is. He's going to be great.
I went to see episode 7 live and had never heard of sam before but by the end he was my favorite.😂
this comment makes me very excited
Same! I went to episode 1, he got everyone's attention from his first word
I’m astounded they were able to get Eggerson Keaveney for Taskmaster.
Oh my god it's Eggerson Keaveney! 😍
Are you not confusing him with Connor Bidou?
Only came here to find this comment.
Every single interview so far has given me the impression this series is gonna be hilarious and highly chaotic at all times... Can't wait!
I'm already in tears from his voice and facial expressions haha
"Is this part of it?"
"It is now..."
Sam's frustrated noise when Alex corrects him... feels like we'll be hearing a lot of that.
I just looked into Campbell and it turns out this is not the first time I've come across him. He's one the creators behind one of my favourite TH-cam series of all time 'Nippers'. And he was featured in a couple of episodes of the Aunty Donna podcast!
Wasn't expecting the drawing to be absolutely incredible - wow Sam!
This season is going to be so good
So excited for this series!
Great picture by Sam. He even got Alex's space between his teeth true to form! Look forward to the series with him!!! 👍😎
Love the Napoleon Dynamite run at the end!!! 😂😂😂
this made me laugh a lot, thank you for providing us with such great content
6:41 is where I knew this contestant is going to have amazing synergy with little Alex Horne. Oh my. And the final picture is just perfection.
the art work is really good!!! and btw its hilarious hearing sam trying to talk in the third person
Sam has a tremendous “sophomore in high school” energy about him. 😂🎉😊
Woooow this actually makes me sad that there were no artistic tasks in this season, he really is quite good at drawing!
Whoever picks the contestants deserve more money. They have yet to fail the audience's expectations. Every season have just been insanely good.
So excited for so many people to be introduced to the beautiful surreality that is Sam Campbell
That picture is quality! I’m looking forward to the kickoff.
Only recently got into Sam and I can't get enough of him. He's going to be the big star of this series.
Just starting, I know Sam is quite good at drawing, so he should be good at this. I also have high hopes for him on the show.
This is my favorite picture out of the 3 so far!
Oh, love Sam, one of the most interesting aspiring comics around!
I bet he's gonna bring that odd-ball energy.
Every season needs at least one odd-ball loose canon type of contestant.
I love that he just runs away, no idea why he did it but liked it 😂
So pumped for alllll these coming outt❤
the most insane first 5 minutes of a video I've ever seen. can't even wait til the end to comment.
THE SPRINT AT THE END, YES.
Best portrait yet! Love that Alex is doffing his hat.
So much chaos already and the season hasn't even started yet. Perfect.
4:32 that's all folks
this genuinely made me laugh out loud thank you so much
Glorious from the sweet wrapper bit to "do you like Arsenal?"
Loving these!
0:22 I love it when Alex turns to the camera like that when he breaks
Everyone that interacts with Sam Campbell falls in love with him... Looks at Alex's face when Sam runs away, true expression of love.
The drawing is amazing 😂
That drawing made me literally laugh out loud, it's perfect 😂😂😂 very strong fingers for Alex 😂😂😂😂
“Sam complies!”
Sam is so incredibly smart and random. And he looks like a 70‘s teenie-bop heartthrob.
His drawing was excellent!!!!!
Can't Wait For Series 16 Alex and Greg Are Brilliant
That picture is great! What a twist.
I would totally hang that picture on my wall 🤣
05:46 oh, Al-Jazeera!
I had not heard of Sampbell before, but he seems very nice. 😃
TM introduced me to Sam and I'm very thankful. Sam you're a Jem, right when we need it most ❤
I did not expect the drawing to be so good
what if Sam dies exactly 45 years from the time of the publication of this video
This series was stellar
Excited to see more Sam
ooh baby, new season incoming! can't wait for someone to upload it so i can watch in the US
They're posting them here Fridays
Cannot wait for Sam to bring chaos to this series!
The drawing is actually an amazing caricature
Wow, that portrait worked out much better than anyone expected, I bet. The fact that he managed that despite all the distraction is very impressive indeed.
