Even thought Melisandre uses tricks to tame the flames, she is still REALLY old. So something is keeping her alive. The part about Manse Rader is interesting. It makes me wonder who's skin Melisandre is wearing, and who is she really? Great video.
The "Bag of fingerbones" line has always stuck out to me like crazy. Only because we do have a bag of fingers bones in our story that has gone missing. They also belong to a character thought by everyone to be dead, and will almost certainly be missing for a while since he's gunna be adventuring in Skagos. I can't imagine how or why they would be used, but it's just such a specific reference.
@@abrarbwso she’ll probably use glamour to make Shireen look like Davos and she’ll claim that Davos is a traitor and needs to be sacrificed to appease the lord of light.
Leslie M. Isaacs He was born in a butcher’s shop, so there’s the salt on the meat and the smoky ovens, so therefore he was born amidst salt and smoke. He, Arya and Gendry are obviously the three heads of the dragon, and he is secretly Aerys II’s bastard so is of the line of Aerys and Rhaella. His Nissa Nissa will be Arya and his Lightbringer will be his Gravy. Anyone who disagrees with this is a normie fan who hasn’t read the books in enough detail. Azor Hotpie is real
When she consumed the poison she transferred it's effects over to the old man that's why she maintained eye contact. Her amulet does more than just glamour it's also a conduit for channeling her power and visions which she is not always able to control or interpret. She's basically rated R Scarlet Witch. 😂👍🔥
girl in the show he drinked before her and was on the verge of death before she even looks at him so she didn’t transfer her power only her lord protected her from death what you say is wrong show wise
Now it’s clear to see why GRRM said that Melisandre is so misunderstood because you never know if she’s a bad or good guy because she acts on both sides like resurrecting Jon but yet sacrificing Shireen
As a scientist I can guess that along with her magic necklace she also has a magic ladypart. For a woman is dark and full of terrors Ok I'm not exactly a scientist...
It says in the book how Melisandre survives the poison; it's the jewel on her throat. In somebody else's chapter (one of Danerys's I think) that there exist red jewels that can protect from poison.
In Cressen's chapter, before he goes to the feast, he goes to sleep with his poisons on the table beside him. The junior Maester under him doesn't wake him as he usually did. It is quite possible that he saw the poison when he came to his room and told Melisandre or maybe someone else did. Remember, Dragonstone is literally crawling with people who are loyal to Melisandre. Religious nutjobs. Or maybe it was her Ruby. In Essos there are rubies who can protect people from poison. As you said.
Stannis Baratheon kissed by fire (melisandre), Eddard Stark kissed by fire (Cateyn), Jon snow kissed by fire (Ygritte), Peter kissed by fire (Lysa or Sansa)?
I do not know about the books, but the show had the Gem in Melisandre’s necklace/collar start to pulse with light after she drank the poison, and you'll also note she became her true self after taking the necklace/collar off. It would seem the show implies there is power in that Gem that gives Melisandre more powers than a typical Red Priestess.
I would like to see a video on the different wildling tribes. I know the Thenns are portrayed very differently between the book and show, but outside that, between all the clans and giantsn theres alot for you to talk about I think
I must say that melisadre is not the only Red Priest with a necklace like the one she's wearing if you remember correctly in the show Tyrion invite the high Priests of the Temple of the Lord of fire to help them control the people of meereen she had the same necklace
This was just the show because they have to condense the many themes of the books. In the books she is the only red priestess we have seen use a ruby necklace to perform glamour.
I can’t wait to reread the books. Every time I watch your videos I learn something new even tho I’ve read the books already. I have only read them once tho.
Do you really think Jon Snow is going to revive in the books? My brother once told me leaving Jon dead was GRRM style. That would make a shift so big in the books ann the series that they couldn't be related any more. Sure that would imply another story to write (if GRRM is really writing what we think he is writing, if he is writing at all lol), and as we have seen each book has been more complex that the one before, killing Jon Snow could mean much more time to write; time GRRM does not poses you know, hes old after all. How wolud that version be?
Is it possible Melissandre is a wildling? Remember her dream/memory of Hardhome when it was still a seaport and trading slaves? She must have been taken to Essos as a child. Its tin-foil possible the NK is after her, since her dreams and visions seem to be tied to the others in a way.
Wait. "A bag of fingerbones" Davos had a bag with his fingerbones. Does she have it? Could she glamour someone as Davos? But it was lost after the Battle of the Blackwater. So how...? I'm confused.
I don’t think the blood magic had anything do do with the deaths as they were all planned out by other characters and were being planned long before she performed the ritual. Awesome video by the way
I think her main power is based on belief and illusions. And she feed on that to affect people and grow her power. In many ways her appearing young is changing the perception people have of her. I believe that some of the things she sees in the flame is really questionable and people see what they want to see. I don't think Rob, the greyjoy and Joffrey died because of the leeches. But it's enough to mesmerizes Stannis. In the case of Jon Snow, I think he may have been between life and death and their belief that she could bring him back did the trick(don't forget that the Starks may have magic in them too). Sometime it's the usual illusions(sees in fire), sometime it's bigger illusions(her appearing young). I think that Beric comes back to life but it's one particular incantation and may have nothing to do with the Lord of light.
Great video...maybe thats why in the show they really killed off mance rayder...instead of the glamour she did with rattleshirt they killed mance with mel burning him but jon giving him a quick death with the arrow....maybe she isnt going to be an old crone in the books...maybe she really looks like how she looks or close to it...i dont know....its just thought...if so looking back now after show has ended....it shows the short cuts dan and dave were veering toward rushing the story when they showed us old crone mel at the end of the season 6 premiere...ironically titled the red woman if my memory is correct...wow i wish i had realized this back then...id say a lot of us do....ill admit i liked season 6...loved battle of the bastards...loved the hold the door episode i think called the door...was really glad to see jon back and reunite with sansa...not my favorite season finale(season 2)...but yet season 6s finale the winds of winter was very good in my opinion....i even enjoyed when jon...sansa...and davos went around the north trying to get support...enjoyed the riverrun mini arc...where we got to see the blackfish(he shoulda escaped like in the books but guess with GOT only about half dozen characters was ever safe...GOT not ASOIAF)...i thought thr actor playing the blackfish was great in the part...i liked reveal that benjen was alive...well sort of....ive always suspected that the character in ASOIAF coldhands was benjen stark...and in the episodes post episode thing dan and dave always did...1 of them called him benjen coldhands...so my opinion looking back now...starting really with hardhome....despite it still being my 2nd favorite behind battle of the bastards....of all time....it didnt happen in ASOIAF....ill always allow that creative liberty they took with that epispodes....

There's a chance Mel has no powers of at all. She could have made Davos hallucinate when she birthed a shadow, the Maester left that poison out and took a nap so she could have known to take an antidote, no one knows how that bird caught on fire she just takes credit. She can glamour and stay warm and see stuff in the fire but the LoL priests all can do stuff like that but honestly we just don't know enough yet. I think Patchface is gonna eat her or something
Her necklace is glowing when drinking the poison. When this is happening, she says 'but the fire burns them all away".
