The original anime that aired from 1992 to 1997, consisted of 200 episodes spread across 5 Arcs. Arc 1 Dark Kingdom, 46 episodes, , the longest arc. Arc 2 Romance , 43 episodes, divided into 2 sub Arcs: Makai Tree (13 episodes), and Dark Moon Clan (30 episodes). Arc 3 Infinity: 38 episodes, Death Busters. Arc 4 Dream: 39 episodes, Dead Moon Circus. Arc 5 Stars: 34 episodes, divided into 2 sub Arcs: the first being a self contained Arc exclusive to the anime (6 episodes), and Stars (28 episodes). There was also the 3 animated movies: Sailor Moon R: The Movie (1993) Sailor Moon S: The Movie (1994) Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie (1995) Sailor Moon Crystal (a reboot of the original series) ran from 2014 to 2015 and consisted of 3 Arcs. Arc 1 Dark Kingdom, 14 episodes. Arc 2 Black Moon, 12 episodes. Arc 3 Death Busters, 13 episodes Sailor Moon Eternal, released as a 2 part movie in 2021 covered the Dream Arc. Sailor Moon Cosmos, released as a 2 part movie in 2023 covered the Stars Arc.
It's crazy, that they did the first anime in 5 years, 200 episodes and the animation was amazing for that time. And Sailor Moon Crystal took them 9 years to finish, it's fast paced, the story is super rushed, because that's how Naoko wrote the manga, and the animation is at best mediocre.
Not enough people truly appreciate the sailor moon ost enough, not just the openings, all of it is such a vibe and i still remember it even after watching the show for the first time so many years ago. So many osts dont leave a lasting mark and you dont remember them, much less have a lasting impact in the long run but og sailor moon stands strong after so long. Definitely give them a listen, its so romantic and nostalgic that im sure you'll enjoy it! ^^
I agree with you, those all time fan also cherish soundtracks from their transformation, some of it is personalize with every character 🙂 so nostalgic.
I listen to it all day from transformations to character songs to villain songs. Just so much great music in this franchise along with the DIC dub as well though the Japanese transformation music (particularly The Outers) are GOATED
Back in the day in the 60s, 70s, 80 & early 90s, many anime shows didn't get variations of opening songs. Some shows often made different visuals for the same song each season. That's partly because the "anime song" industry didn't have much of a market until *Mobile Suit Gundam* (1979) became the first anime that sold its OST to the masses (back then, OST were sold in the form of vinyl records). Another reason is: when an anime op song became very popular & iconic, some studios were reluctant to change it. It also doubles as a budget-saving measure for the production.
Such a Classic THEME TUNE, I Re-watch All of the SAILORMOON OPENINGS on TH-cam, SAILORMOON was one of the 1st Anime Growing-Up in the 90's along with Watching Gundam Wing, DRAGONBALL Z, Tenchi Muyo, Ghost in the Shell, Evangelian, FLCL, Coyboy Bebop, Outlaw Star & Many Others...
The guy with a Tuxedo, is Tuxedo Mask. His name is Mamoru, and is the king of the earth. Is the eternal love of the protagonist. When he was the Prince of the earth and she was the princess of the moon, and was a war. Like Romeo and Juliet.
The 90s song is called Moonlight Denestsu. You can find the English version of it on TH-cam. Also, the English version of Sailor Moon is absolutely unhinged, but it captures the characters perfectly. The Japanese version is good too. I won't go too much into detail about the characters. Basically, Sailor Moon and her friends are based on the solar system. The man you see throughout is Sailor Moon's destined one. Sailor Moon is such an iconic to start anime. Makes me cry every time lol
Since you asked for what it's about, I'll give you a brief description (I'll try to keep it brief). So series is about a middle school girl named Usagi Tsukino. She finds out that she is guardian of the Moon Kingdom known as Sailor Moon. Her friends (the other girls you saw) are the sailor guardians. They represent each planet. Ami (the blue one) is Sailor Mercury, Rei (the red one) is Sailor Mars, Makoto (the green one) is Sailor Jupiter and the blonde hair one that has the red bow is named Minako and she is Sailor Venus. The cats are their mentors that talk. Their names are Luna (black cat) and Artemis (white cat) and they have a kitten called Diana. The mysterious guy is Tuxedo Mask, his true name is Mamoru and yes he is the love interest. They gain Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Pluto. They protect the solar system from evil. The original anime was from the 90s and later on Crystal became the reboot that was based closer to the manga since the original anime had a lot of filler.
Nice reaction! I'm here to answer all of your questions.^^ The first anime ran from 1992-1997 with 200 episodes. The 5 seasons had different names like "Sailor Moon R" or "Sailor Moon Sailor Stars", which is why the list was a little confusing. But it was the right order. They often changed the visuals during the seasons, like when new characters showed up. Then there's "Sailor Moon Crystal" (2014-2016) which is a reboot. It's a retelling of the story, but it follows the manga much more closely, which is why it's pretty different from the first anime. Sailor Moon Crystal was followed by 4 movies called "Sailor Moon Eternal" and "Sailor Moon Cosmos". Cosmos just got released last year in Japan and has 2 new openings.^^ Yes, I think it was more common back then to have one opening for a whole series or at least for more episodes than today. It's about superheroines fighting evil with magical powers. Everyone is named after a planet (like Sailor Mars etc.) and is the guardian of that planet. So it's not about zodiac signs. However, each girl has the zodiac sign that's connected to her planet in astrology. Yes, Tuxedo Mask is the love interest for Sailor Moon. But he's supposed to be very mysterious at first.
Back then it wasn't unusual for shows to keep the same song throughout their full run and just change the visuals, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT all did this as well.
Girly, or not, as a 5 yo boy I loved watching Sailor Moon and it stayed with me for years. For years I had the most massive crush on Sailor Neptune, and when I learned she's lesbian, I was heartbroken (in Europe it got censored and the lesbian couple was presented as cousins or some shit like that)
The US was responsible for the cousin thing. Europe didn't actually censor the show that heavily (here only 3 episodes were cut, last 2 of the 1st season due to too much violentce but they were aired years later, and ep 133 for being centered around the nun being tempted by the villains)
"About 30 years ago, I met a guy on mIRC who introduced me to RealPlayer. It had an option to listen to radio stations from around the world. Naturally, I chose Japan, and while there were other songs, the Sailor Stars song, at 18:20, was one of the tracks that made me fall in love with anime music. Sailor Moon had already finished airing in Mexico, but it didn’t feature the original openings and endings. This song still holds a special place in my heart and gives me goosebumps to this day." I also discovered the songs from Street Fighter and Gundam Wing. I remember connecting my PC to the stereo and recording them on cassette. Those were great times."
Sailotmoon is an anime from the 90s, and All the opening that are from "Crystal" are the Remake of the 90s anime, Made in 2009 - 2023 i guess not sure (tv shows and movies) but this time the Remake is more accurate to the original manga.
I have more accurate info for you, the original 90s anime have 5 seasons -sailor moon -sailor moon R -sailor moon S -sailor moon SS -sailor moon: Sailor Stars And have 3 movies and i guess 2 or 3 specials The "Crystal" remake hace 3 seasons and 4 movies. - Sailor moon Crystal season1 - 2014 - Sailor moon Crystal season2 - 2015 - Sailor moon Crystal season3 - 2016 - Sailor moon Eternal (2 movies) - 2021 - Sailor moon Cosmos (2 movies) - 2023 And as you imagine, each seasons and movies of Crystal, are the remakes of each seasons of the original anime, but as i said, more accurate to the original manga.
Sailor Moon was the first magical girl series I watched. Sailor Moon Crystal (2014) Mahō shōjo is a subgenre centered on young girls who possess magical abilities, which they typically use through an ideal alter ego into which they can transform.
Even though the original anime series to Sailor Moon was not according to the manga artist's true vision, I cant help but enjoy it over Crystals reboot. The music, the art style and the abundant use of the monster of the week trope and filler episodes just conspires to make this a classic. The soundtrack, especially from the Japanese OST perspective is classic! I grew up with the US DIC subbed versions so I missed out on a lot of the Japanese seasons. Sailor Stars is a very catchy opening theme song for the final chapter of OG Sailor Moon. If you're gonna watch this (and the films), you're gonna be binging for a while. Enjoy it and then watch Crystal reboot afterwards. Two different experience but definitely the storyline for Crystal is more towards the original manga author's vision for the series.
Sailor Moon was a challenging work. Two of the four male executives playing the enemy are couples, There were also female couples, and female characters were sometimes played by male voice actors.
This anime veteran recommends the Record of Lodosss War tv series and oavs openings and endings. I also recommend the Slayers tv series all seasons openings and endings. These series have an special place in my heart.
Everytime she said Sailor Moon Crystal was from the 90s, I'm like "Nope! Try 2010's and 2020's!" Sailor Moon Crystal Season 1 came out in 2014 and and the most recent Sailor Moon Cosmos came out in 2023.
I mean, she also thought the OG series was at least 10 years older, so her perception is kind of consistently skewed a decade or two earlier. (I have to laugh whenever some kid sees something with cgi cel shading and a 16:9 aspect ratio yet still thinks "iS tHiS fRoM tHe 90s??!?")
Wow you made us feel so old🤣🤣🤣. Sailor Moon is not an 80s anime.. it’s 90s anime and ended in 97.. the Sailor Moon Crystal is aired in 2014 ended 2023 it’s a reboot and summary and more fatefully adapted in Manga version
To explain.... The Sailor Moon theme song was soooo catchy and soooooo popular, that they just decided to keep the same song for all the openings. As for the reason why it keeps saying opening 1.... is because back then the name sailor moon arcs are split up into various names: Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon Super.... and because the name changes, the opening technically goes back to 1 cause its like a new show.
16:00 - In the Viz dub (which is the recommended dub, if you watch the dub), this was the season where Barbara Goodson voiced one of the villains, and she pretty much just made her sound like Rita Repulsa. Also to answer your question, he is an Alicorn, which is a Unicorn with Pegasus wings. He has an actual name, but we'll leave it at that for now to avoid spoilers.
There is R, S, Super S, stars and some others. They are basically different seasons. The movies are also pretty cool. The theme song is “Moonlight Densetsu” like the main theme. There is also a live action show that was also cool, it was like “the Power Rangers”. Pretty much, each season they have their memories wiped. In the original manga, sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask lives on the moon in a kingdom there. He ended up dying and she committed suicide. Her mother spirited her and the other planet guardians away to earth, reincarnating them with no memory of the moon kingdom. Eventually the evil shows up and the cat returns her memories.
Oh wow, Millie, you just did Sailormoon OPs. Now you need to check out all *Saint Seiya* openings which is a decade older than Sailormoon but feels like the male counterpart to Sailormoon (where Sailormoon actually took some inspirations from). th-cam.com/play/PL03FN3i4wnl0lNOAJwuk4C9lU4muTyhkM.html&si=LdrC0NBNn74ErSJh
Sailor Moon had a lot of great insert song too! In anime it worth checking out Kanno Yoko. Her Cowboy Bebop opening is everywhere but she is one of the best composer ever. Escaflowne, Macross, GitS SAC... And from the '90s I woruld recommen a few openings. The Slayers (Next, Try...) had different songs each season, opening-ending. TriGun is a headbanger :) Fushigi Yuugi. Or for something insanely cute: Cardcaptor Sakura :)
Sorry, just discovered this video. I will never be tired of saying it. I love first time reactions of people to the creepy church bell of first Op. Especially ones who actually got no context it’s a start of Sailor moon opening (well not in your case but still) because it’s such a mood whiplash.😂 Yet symbolically fitting because it starts dark before the hero of love shows up.
I love your reactions! They’re always so cute! I can’t recommend Sailor Moon enough! It’s essentially about a young girl named Usagi that one day gets confronted by a talking cat named Luna, and is told she’s a super hero that is Tokyo’s only hope against an ancient evil! Her mission is to find her fellow Sailor Guardians, and then their Princess , who holds the Legendary Silver Crystal (a stone with unlimited energy), and protect her! I recommend watching Sailor Moon Crystal (or at least watching it first) over the 90’s adaptation, since Crystal is closer to the canon manga. The 90’s is very cute and nostalgic, but it also takes a lot of liberties, to the point that it’s an alternate universe compared to the source material.
I think you will like another show made by the same studio too, it is called pretty cure and it is also a girly super hero show. You can check it out if your have the time.
Definitely watch sailor moon it’s a must, start with the 90s series, ik it’s a lot of episodes but it’s better. Sailor moon crystal is just the reboot of the 90s series but making every season shorter literally it just go straight to the point of the story. 90s series seasons: Sailor moon, R/S/Ss/stars Season 2 and 5 Is divided into two arcs Movies: Sailor moon R/S/Ss Sailor moon crystal: 3 seasons Sailor moon eternal: movie dived into 2 parts Sailor moon cosmos: movie divided into 2 parts sailor moon eternal and cosmos is literally the last season of sailor moon but in movie to make it shorter.
The original song which you’re hearing is called moonlight densetsu. It Became to iconic for them to change it for the any season of original anime 🤷🏻♂️.
Sailor Moon Crystal is from the 2014-2023 it is pretty recent. It was a remake of the 90s to make it closer to the manga (it makes some changes if you only saw the 90s version) and shorter.
You should watch it! It sooo worth it! 45-year-old Sailor Moon fan here! Original Sailor Moon came out during the 90s, not the 80s ( I wish! ) and Sailor Moon Crystal during 2014 and just recenly ended last year.
What's interesting is Sailor Moon in her most powerful Lambda form is one of the most powerful superheroes around. Able to affect time and space, she can create and destroy universes at her will. Considering this is mostly a romantic drama, it is interesting that the MC is up there with Goku as OP characters.
sailor moon opening/ main theme song names: sailor moon season 1-4: moonlight densetsu sailor moon season 5: sailor star sailor moon crystal season 1-2: moon pride sailor moon crystal season 3: Fall in Love with the New Moon Sailor moon eternal (crystal): Moon Color Chainon Sailor moon cosmos (crystal): Moon Flower
I love Sailor Moon so much! I didnt watched a lot when i was a kid because, you know "you are a boy, men dont watch girly cartoons" but sometimes i watched it meanwhile waiting Knights of the Zodiac (i know, that was my excuses, fortunately enjoyed both) but that's why i was not a big fan, as a grown up we talked about old cartoons and every men was like that too "eh, i watched a little waiting KotZ but not too much, i cant remember a lot but i kinda liked it, maybe because the girls were cute" and i was the same, but one day i found the second book of the manga with my favourite Sailor in the cover and i was like "Why not?" But then, just the second? That would feel weird, so i bought 1 and 2... And i loved them! I started to bought every book until i read the las episode and was like 🤯 "You know, i think that i love Sailor Moon" and now i'm a huge fan of the msnga and the Crystal reboot (which is more accurate to the manga), i like the 90's anime too but strangely, i truly knew Sailor Moon in the manga, even if i've already watched some episodes in my childhood first 😅
THE ANTICIPATION FOR THE STARS REACTION WAS REAL!! Stars is pretty much everyone's favorite/tearjerker! A quick crash course: the first Sailor Moon aired 1992-1997. Sailor Moon (no suffix) is season 1, R is s2, S is s3, SuperS is s4, Stars is s5/finale. Once it ended with Stars, that was kinda it for a while. And yes, Moonlight Densetsu (the one that played like 10 times) is the series' theme song; even to this day it gets covered and rereleased. Around the early 2000s we entered copyright hell and nothing was heard of SM officially - especially outside Japan - til around 2011. It was around then SM started to come back, and in 2012 Sailor Moon Crystal was announced! We also got a dub with a new english cast...it was all a shock! (please do yourself a "favor" and google "Sailor Moon Dic Dub" lol) SM Crystal instead just uses season numbers this time instead of suffix letters. It is a complete retelling much closer to the original manga since the 90s version took tons of liberties, some good and some BAD - to the point you could argue it's like a separate timeline. It gets a little confusing again around the 4th "season" - they ditch the episode approach AND the Crystal subtitle and decided to make the last 2 arcs 2 pairs of movies....so 4 total. Sailor Moon Eternal (2021) is 2 movies retelling the 4th season (SuperS in the 90s) and Sailor Moon Cosmos (2023) is 2 movies retelling the 5th season (Stars in the 90s). The biggest problem currently is: Sailor Moon Cosmos still has not been released in english/outside of Japan officially. Ironically, this mirrors the 90s dub which didn't cover Stars and we were lacking it til the redub in 2014! I'm aware this is alot of text but it's just the beginning! We haven't even talked about.....the stage musicals or the 2003 live action show : )
So yeah, this series. It's pretty much THE series. This is the series that got alot of people outside of Japan into anime, even before Dragonball Z became mainstream. If you were to ask me what I like about Sailor Moon, I would scarcely know where to begin. But I'll try anyway. This is a show that subverts expectations, big time. If you were to just look at a picture of the characters without knowing anything about the show and with no context, you'd probably think to yourself, 'Oh. They're basically Barbies with super powers'. That's not what this is at all. Yes, they have powers and they fight monsters and there is an emphasis on the power of friendship. That is a thing they do. But the show is also a romance story, a story about reincarnation, about fate and whether it's something that's pre-determined or something you can control, a show with mythological figures in it including ancient gods, and also a show with heavy slice-of-life elements in it. It's also a pretty dark show, and there are some genuinely creepy moments. It's also a show with extremely well developed and very expressive characters who have a ton of personality, and often even the villains get development. It is absolutely worth watching. But watch the original series first. Don't start with Sailor Moon Crystal. That is best seen as a supplement to this one.
One of the Best and most memorable openings for any anime series. We Loved this as a young boys as much as most did not want to admit it and watched it regularly along with Dragonball 😄
To Millie: he has both a horn(unicorn)and a pair of wings(pegasus),so he's an alicorn(that derives from two Latin words, that later has transformed in Italian,'cause "ali" means "wings" and "corn" derives from "corno")
All the Pretty Guardian using the name of planets. It helps me to remember the name of planets when I was in elementary school 😅 Sailor Moon (Not Earth) Sailor Mercury (my favourite character) Sailor Mars Sailor Jupiter Sailor Venus Sailor Uranus Sailor Neptune Sailor Pluto Sailor Saturn (the last sailor that appears in the anime)
Just a suggestion, when you do watch the series, do reaction videos. Either your thoughts while watching or after. Either way, I'd love to watch your experience with the series. Each season of Sailor Moon had something different added to the title. Season 2 was Sailor Moon R, season 3 was Sailor Moon S, season 4 was Sailor Moon SuperS, and season 5 was Sailor Stars. The same theme was used for the first four seasons, mostly because it became a fairly iconic anime theme, though they did change singers for seasons 3 & 4. The first opening song is "Moonlight Legend," and the second is "Sailor Stars Song (Don't Give Up)." They aren't powered by the zodiac, they're powered by the planets (or the moon, in the main character's case). The original Sailor Moon anime is 200 episodes, three movies, one TV special, and one short. It's a winged unicorn, usually called an alicorn. "This is so '80s." That season aired in 1996-1997.
I will turn 38 years old this year, and I’m a Japanese gay, but Sailor moon is still my eternal icon in my life. I still remember all of anime’s opening. I wanted to become such an intelligent and adorable Ami as Sailor Mercury when I was a kid. As well as Sailor moon is a cute anime, the story touches our heart. That’s why it’s still popular although it broadcasted over 20 years before. I believe that our planet always can be kept safe even though it would face danger because there are Sailor warriors on Earth.
The original Sailor Moon anime is from the 90s, not the 80s :) It was 5 seasons in total (from 92 to 96). At the time it was quite a lot of seasons for one anime. Even back then, they normally used to change the opening song when a new season came out but in the case of Sailor Moon they kept the same tune from season 1 to season 4 then changed it in season 5, due to the fact that it was hugely popular. Sailor Moon Crystal is the reboot of the anime started in 2014 (3 seasons plus 2 movies) and ended last year with the 2 parts movie called Sailor Moon Cosmos. Also, Sailor Moon is indeed very 'girly' but one of its meritd is also that it was one of the first 'hybrid' anime. Up to the 80s shoujo manga/anime (for girls) and shounen manga/anime (for boys) had very distinctive narrative elements. Shounen were all about adventures and fighting, shoujo all about romance and existenrial issues. Sailor Moon was a shoujo manga/anime that even if it was girly it had a lot of elements that up to that point were mainly for shounen anime such as the fact that the story revolves around a bunch of warriors and their battles and adventures are pitoval to the narration.
22:58 "epic guitar" normal the guitar is played by a Guitar Hero : - Marty Friedman, lead guitarist of Megadeth during 90's, he played on "Coutdown to Extinction", the band greatest success
As an old sailor moon fan I would recommend this: You can watch the 90s version from sailor moon to super s there are 200 episodes, the movies do not influence the story. sailor moon cristal is only a reboot of the old series, now the problem is in SAILOR STARS, for my part I would not recommend sailor stars from the 90s, they made a bad adaptation of the manga, something that the last movie that came out recently from SAILOR STARS did. a very good adaptation
I actually really like Sailor Moon Crystal too, but there is just something uniquely magical about the music from the 90s series. "Princess Moon" stands out as one of my favorites, but there are so many others like "Rashiku Ikimashou" "Otome no Policy" and countless others. And although fair amount about the English adaptation weren't my favorite, many of the songs they made for it were amazing "Carry On" and "The Power of Love" were the first "boss fight themes" I'd ever heard in a show. And pretty sure "My Only Love," "Rainy Day Man" and "Only a Memory Away" all punctuated the story beats they accompanied so well they made me cry.
Honestly, you should react to the Italian Opening songs of Sailor Moon, cause we got 5 differents songs for each season from the 90's anime and 2 for the 2014 Crystal Reboot...
It may be true that, for the most part, anime’s have a different op for each season. But Sailor Moon is proof that, if your opening is iconic enough, you really don’t need to (and probably shouldn’t) change it up.
I think if you’re going to watch Sailor Moon anyway then you don’t need anyone to tell you what it’s about, just leave it as something to look forward to! ✌️ 200 episodes is a big commitment, though, but I’m sure you’ll have people happily follow along (I don’t think anyone else is attempting it on TH-cam, so you’ll corner the market! 😜)
Sailormoon S got the best opening theme. I mean it got all the Sailor Guardians and the transtition from Inner senshi to outer senshi was dope especially when they introduced Sailor Saturn as if she'll be in doom got us goosebumps all over.
having moonlight densetsu for every opening until sailor stars on the japanese side is tough. in germany we had 4-5 regional opening themes that were bangers (90s eurodance style). btw. the insert songs are really really good and i would say better than the openings. first: "ai no senshi" an insertsong from the original/classic series if i remeber right. second: "moon revenge" insert / ending song of the first movie Sailor Moon R (in germany subtitled gefährliche blumen / dangerous flowers) third: "Sanji No Yosei" this one is early in the third movie Sailor Moon SuperS. only true fans know the name of this tune. the theme is rat catcher (who capture kids at night as in german folk tale). you also should listen to the full version of "moon pride" the sailor moon crystal opening. oh and because sailormoon is original from the 90s many songs and themes are similar to the city pop / rock genre of that era in japan.
the third opeing, I mean the "second" opening one, is the first one from Sailor Moon R, different season, the first opening of the video, is Sailor moon, without R, the first season of all, sailor moon S, is another season
Well, this was a blast from the past, I would like you to watch it, preferably from the Original Anime to the Remake. By the way, if you’re interested in checking out more Magical Girl Openings, i recommend Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha all Openings, I’ve made a Playlist too if you’re interested?
I remember watching this growing up. Sailor Moon was one of the original magical girls (and victims of censoring with gender changes, relationship changes and entire episodes not being shown in the west e.g. the one with dinosaurs). A lot of people consider her a crybaby but really she's a young girl who literally has the fate of the world put on her shoulders at fourteen and goes through so much. Having her heart broken by the boy she loves and watching everyone she know's die to buy her time to face the main enemy of the first arc (also edited in the west so you don't see the other four inner scouts die in that battle) then after she wins leaving them with no memory of her or their time together as she fights the second enemy alone so they can have the normal life she can't.
Feels weird... I am a grown up man who grew up watching many animes in the 90s like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Rayearth, Shurato, Yu Yu Hakusho, Patlabor.... and seeing new generation react to old animes is funny.
Sailor Moon was at the time of Airing one of the best anime of the time with names as Dragonball Gun smit cats Bubblegum Crisis and many more and it was also a hit among Man as well as Girls and in the Morning TV before school Program . I recommend this series its worth the watch and it seem like typical cheche story line but be aware it will nock u over from time to time and surprise you with the complexity have fun watching

.Season 1 - Sailor Moon
.Season 2 - Sailor Moon R (Return / Romance)
.Season 3 - Sailor Moon S (Sailors)
.Season 4 - Sailor Moon Super S (Super Sailors)
.Season 5 - Sailor Stars
Okay... You both did the homework! 💖

日本人の私より詳しい!素晴らしい👏
わかる!わかるよ!
セーラームーンは全ての曲が涙出るくらい素敵なのよ!
聞いただけで当時の自分を思い出して涙出てくるw
The original transformation music is such a bop I love it
Yep. Not just the original OST, but the English version as well.
Girl... you'll see the season 1 finale and you'll cry a lot. That will be your really first anime canon event...
Truly agree, the finale arc of the first season just pulls your heart out of your chest, truly epic.
Yep!
I'm crying watching season 1 for the first time
You know first season finale still leaves me baffled to this day “how did they got away with it”.
Sailor Stars did for me. The last part of it sort of stabbed me in the heart ❤️.
There 2 more openings, they haven’t officially been released outside Japan, but they’re for Sailor Moon Cosmos
There the same song just sung differently
Sailor Moon aired from 1992-1997
And Sailor Moon Crystal is the one Facelift to face with the Manga and Ran from 2014-2023
The thing is the song was quite popular when the anime aired, its become iconic thats why its used for more than 1 seasons
It’s so iconic! It is used in the show itself in the music box Mamoru gave to Usagi.
It was nothing like Romeo and Juliet.
@@DemanaJaire Families enemies. They are in love in secreto. They died together in the end. It's like the classic story of imposible love.
Except the fact they’re reincarnated lovers along with her bodyguards
Cosmos just got released last year in Japan and has 2 new openings.^^
Yes, I think it was more common back then to have one opening for a whole series or at least for more episodes than today.
(Sailor Stars theme starts) "oh this is so 80s!" lol it came out in 96
It still could be based on 80s music though
never skipped a single episode back in 90s after school.
afternoon anime show back then is my favorite time of the day
Back then it wasn't unusual for shows to keep the same song throughout their full run and just change the visuals, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT all did this as well.
Not Girly I would say for all public the story was interesting I loved the RPG's specially the one for the SNES it was pretty good
@@SailorSetsuna7 The US did a lot of censoring the last two of Beryl's generals were a gay couple for instance and they changed one to a woman.
In Europe, or at least in germany, Uranus and Neptune were never depicted as cousind, they just didn't specify their relationship but didn't censor it
@@KiaraKitsune Maybe I'm just misremembering this now. I doubt that Poland and Germany got a different version.
This song still holds a special place in my heart and gives me goosebumps to this day."
I also discovered the songs from Street Fighter and Gundam Wing. I remember connecting my PC to the stereo and recording them on cassette. Those were great times."
You should listen all the italian openings of every sigle anime or cartoon 😂❤ it will blow your mind the perfection of them
Sailotmoon is an anime from the 90s, and All the opening that are from "Crystal" are the Remake of the 90s anime, Made in 2009 - 2023 i guess not sure (tv shows and movies) but this time the Remake is more accurate to the original manga.
I have more accurate info for you, the original 90s anime have 5 seasons
-sailor moon
-sailor moon R
-sailor moon S
-sailor moon SS
-sailor moon: Sailor Stars
And have 3 movies and i guess 2 or 3 specials
The "Crystal" remake hace 3 seasons and 4 movies.
- Sailor moon Crystal season1 - 2014
- Sailor moon Crystal season2 - 2015
- Sailor moon Crystal season3 - 2016
- Sailor moon Eternal (2 movies) - 2021
- Sailor moon Cosmos (2 movies) - 2023
And as you imagine, each seasons and movies of Crystal, are the remakes of each seasons of the original anime, but as i said, more accurate to the original manga.
Excluding the last season (sailor moon crystal) the anime has a total of 200 episodes divided into several seasons
I feel like I'm 100 years old when I realize how many people don't know Sailor Moon or haven't seen it.
Sailor Moon was the first magical girl series I watched.
Sailor Moon Crystal (2014)
Mahō shōjo is a subgenre centered on young girls who possess magical abilities, which they typically use through an ideal alter ego into which they can transform.
Crystal is just lifeless and bland. The original TV had so much charm and even despite its fillers it was still a better made show
Sailor Moon was a challenging work.
Two of the four male executives playing the enemy are couples,
There were also female couples, and female characters were sometimes played by male voice actors.
This is making me so nostalgic :)
@@heinrichagrippa5681 to be fair, between 1989 and 1992 are only 3 years, so the vibe is still kinda valid.
02:52. Beginning of opening 🇯🇵🇺🇸🇧🇷💖🔥💖👀🧐😍😮🤔!.
18:18. 2° Part 🇯🇵🇺🇸🇧🇷💒🎩💪💖🔥💖👀😍😮🤔🎉💐👏👏
Did she voice Rita Repulsa too?
@@Emily-cw7tj Yes.
@@SBaby I thought so I just wasn't able to recall her name (though it looked very familiar to me) 😅
Yes, theirs oufit changes so slightly, but can be noticed by the ribbons on the front and back, or earrings
I recommend watching the full mv for moon pride (SM crystal 1st op)
Oh wow, Millie, you just did Sailormoon OPs. Now you need to check out all *Saint Seiya* openings which is a decade older than Sailormoon but feels like the male counterpart to Sailormoon (where Sailormoon actually took some inspirations from).
th-cam.com/play/PL03FN3i4wnl0lNOAJwuk4C9lU4muTyhkM.html&si=LdrC0NBNn74ErSJh
Please listen to the ending themes too. They are all different songs. There is also Moon Revenge from the Sailor Moon R movie.
❤❤❤❤hyyyyyaaaa beatiful beatiful😅
Sailor Moon. (Classic)-- 3 Openings
SailorMoon R -- 2 Openings.
SailorMoon S -- 3 Openings
SailorMoon Super S-- 2 Openings
SailorMoon Star --2 Openings
12 Openings 😳
I think you will like another show made by the same studio too, it is called pretty cure and it is also a girly super hero show. You can check it out if your have the time.
Moms / grannies/ aunties loves Sailor Moon 😂 feel me old
Definitely watch sailor moon it’s a must, start with the 90s series, ik it’s a lot of episodes but it’s better.
Sailor moon crystal is just the reboot of the 90s series but making every season shorter literally it just go straight to the point of the story.
90s series seasons:
Sailor moon, R/S/Ss/stars
Season 2 and 5 Is divided into two arcs
Movies:
Sailor moon R/S/Ss
Sailor moon crystal:
3 seasons
Sailor moon eternal: movie dived into 2 parts
Sailor moon cosmos: movie divided into 2 parts
sailor moon eternal and cosmos is literally the last season of sailor moon but in movie to make it shorter.
It's also interesting to watch the transformation and power scenes.
The original song which you’re hearing is called moonlight densetsu. It Became to iconic for them to change it for the any season of original anime 🤷🏻♂️.
Well they did change it for the last season (Sailor Moon StarS), but you're right, it is legendary ✨
Sailor moon the black cat name is Luna, they name is by planet, the boy name 「earth 」
“This is so 80’s” (((( aired in 1997))) 18:33
Sailor Moon Crystal is from the 2014-2023 it is pretty recent. It was a remake of the 90s to make it closer to the manga (it makes some changes if you only saw the 90s version) and shorter.
I would love to watch Sailor Moon with you!
The world best Anime of all time (for me). Season 1 and Season 5 (Stars) are so sad. I have goosebumps everytime. 😍🤩
You should watch it! It sooo worth it! 45-year-old Sailor Moon fan here! Original Sailor Moon came out during the 90s, not the 80s ( I wish! ) and Sailor Moon Crystal during 2014 and just recenly ended last year.
Naoko Takeuchi writer of the manga sailor moon also write the last 80s opening makenai
What's interesting is Sailor Moon in her most powerful Lambda form is one of the most powerful superheroes around. Able to affect time and space, she can create and destroy universes at her will. Considering this is mostly a romantic drama, it is interesting that the MC is up there with Goku as OP characters.
She is more powerful than Goku so there's that.
I love all the Sailor Moon openings, I love watching your video.
sailor moon opening/ main theme song names:
sailor moon season 1-4: moonlight densetsu
sailor moon season 5: sailor star
sailor moon crystal season 1-2: moon pride
sailor moon crystal season 3: Fall in Love with the New Moon
Sailor moon eternal (crystal): Moon Color Chainon
Sailor moon cosmos (crystal): Moon Flower
im sad they didn't include the live action sailor moon intro. that was a rather enjoyable intro too.
I started to bought every book until i read the las episode and was like 🤯 "You know, i think that i love Sailor Moon" and now i'm a huge fan of the msnga and the Crystal reboot (which is more accurate to the manga), i like the 90's anime too but strangely, i truly knew Sailor Moon in the manga, even if i've already watched some episodes in my childhood first 😅
There are more two openings of sailor moon they are from the movies.
(please do yourself a "favor" and google "Sailor Moon Dic Dub" lol)
SM Crystal instead just uses season numbers this time instead of suffix letters.
We haven't even talked about.....the stage musicals or the 2003 live action show : )
The original show had 200 episodes and 4 movies and Cristal had 39 EP but that's because that turned seasons 4 and 5 and 4 movies
You forgot Sailor moon Enternal and Sailor moon Cosmos
One of the Best and most memorable openings for any anime series. We Loved this as a young boys as much as most did not want to admit it and watched it regularly along with Dragonball 😄
Its pegasus, unicorn is the one that has a single horn
Wow, there are people who haven't seen Sailor Moon?? I'm shocked.😮😮😮😮
It helps me to remember the name of planets when I was in elementary school 😅
Sailor Moon (Not Earth)
Sailor Mercury (my favourite character)
Sailor Mars
Sailor Jupiter
Sailor Venus
Sailor Uranus
Sailor Neptune
Sailor Pluto
Sailor Saturn (the last sailor that appears in the anime)
The last sailors that appear in the show are Galaxia and Animamates
Just a suggestion, when you do watch the series, do reaction videos. Either your thoughts while watching or after. Either way, I'd love to watch your experience with the series.
Each season of Sailor Moon had something different added to the title. Season 2 was Sailor Moon R, season 3 was Sailor Moon S, season 4 was Sailor Moon SuperS, and season 5 was Sailor Stars. The same theme was used for the first four seasons, mostly because it became a fairly iconic anime theme, though they did change singers for seasons 3 & 4. The first opening song is "Moonlight Legend," and the second is "Sailor Stars Song (Don't Give Up)."
They aren't powered by the zodiac, they're powered by the planets (or the moon, in the main character's case).
Please make a reaction to the opening of the fairy tail
22:58 "epic guitar"
normal the guitar is played by a Guitar Hero :
- Marty Friedman, lead guitarist of Megadeth during 90's, he played on "Coutdown to Extinction", the band greatest success
As an old sailor moon fan I would recommend this:
You can watch the 90s version from sailor moon to super s there are 200 episodes, the movies do not influence the story. sailor moon cristal is only a reboot of the old series, now the problem is in SAILOR STARS, for my part I would not recommend sailor stars from the 90s, they made a bad adaptation of the manga, something that the last movie that came out recently from SAILOR STARS did. a very good adaptation
Sailor star opening best song so far 🎉🎉🎉
every time I hear the opening I rewatch the series... this was even before Crystal came out
Could you react to the sailor moon endings?
Honestly, you should react to the Italian Opening songs of Sailor Moon, cause we got 5 differents songs for each season from the 90's anime and 2 for the 2014 Crystal Reboot...

A kitten is a child between a black cat (♀) and a white cat (♂).
You are correct.
It may be true that, for the most part, anime’s have a different op for each season. But Sailor Moon is proof that, if your opening is iconic enough, you really don’t need to (and probably shouldn’t) change it up.

the opening from Sailor moon Crystal was good
I LOVE your "cat-comments" :D
"The new cat" :) Her name is Diana, and she is ChibiUsa's (Chibiusa is the rose-haired little girl).
The music is powerful even if you don't know what's it about.
I think if you’re going to watch Sailor Moon anyway then you don’t need anyone to tell you what it’s about, just leave it as something to look forward to! ✌️
200 episodes is a big commitment, though, but I’m sure you’ll have people happily follow along (I don’t think anyone else is attempting it on TH-cam, so you’ll corner the market! 😜)
Sailormoon S got the best opening theme. I mean it got all the Sailor Guardians and the transtition from Inner senshi to outer senshi was dope especially when they introduced Sailor Saturn as if she'll be in doom got us goosebumps all over.
You’re so pretty, you would make a good Sailor moon cosplay
having moonlight densetsu for every opening until sailor stars on the japanese side is tough. in germany we had 4-5 regional opening themes that were bangers (90s eurodance style).
btw. the insert songs are really really good and i would say better than the openings.
first: "ai no senshi" an insertsong from the original/classic series if i remeber right.
second: "moon revenge" insert / ending song of the first movie Sailor Moon R (in germany subtitled gefährliche blumen / dangerous flowers)
third: "Sanji No Yosei" this one is early in the third movie Sailor Moon SuperS. only true fans know the name of this tune. the theme is rat catcher (who capture kids at night as in german folk tale).
you also should listen to the full version of "moon pride" the sailor moon crystal opening.
oh and because sailormoon is original from the 90s many songs and themes are similar to the city pop / rock genre of that era in japan.

Could you please try the dub Salormoon 1st opening? One of the few dub openings did right other than pokemon's opening.
If you want old anime with several different opening themes, try Kimagure Orange Road, Ranma 1/2, or the 80s version of Urusei Yatsura.
Yes, but people who grew up on 70s anime can say the same thing about 80s anime, and the 90s, and so on.
