As a child of the 80s, hearing you cover the cheesy dub lyrics after an adaptation of the proper Japanese lyrics was oddly satisfying.
We all know the dub lyrics are better. A totally different song but better.

FlyingFocs Same here. Ive never really had a girlfriend but my best friend Colin raves about Sailor Moon. I was really bored about a month ago and saw it was on Hulu. Ive only seen a few episodes so far but im already hooked thanks to Stephanie Sheh and Michelle Ruff doing the voices for Usagi and Luna lol (Im sure its obvious from my profile pic but im a huge Bleach fan)
I'm a guy whose training for military/special forces and only watches Dragon Ball Z type stuff, Sailor moon was a huge leap for me lol
I showed my 5 year old brother Sailor Moon and it shockingly made an enourmous impact on him, he likes the show so much. After a while I was showing him english sailor moon opening since he only watched english dub with japanesse openings and ending and we accidentaly clicked on this cover and he said: "What a nice lady she just sounds like Usagi."

I think the Japanese lyrics are different than the English lyrics when translated so she did a mix of both lyrics.

@CBC Studio it is not a direct translation because it is nearly impossible to do that with Japanese to English songs. She took the original Japanese translations and created lyrics that preserve the meaning but are not word by word from the Japanese. In that sense this is her own version.
It's a real talent to be able to localize lyrics from Japanese, preserve the meaning, and -also make them rhyme-!

love that this cover fuses both lyric sets together. The English dubbed lyrics, have a heroic, feisty, lightheartedness to them, that doesn't take itself too seriously, while the Japanese lyrics are really deep, personal and romantic. Both capture dynamics of the show in a way of their own and this strikes a good balance by including them all ^^

Yeah, becuase the company decided to keep the music and make their own lyrics. This is why there is an episode where Serena and her friend enter a talent contest and sing the theme song... because in Japan they sung Moonlight Densetsu, which is an actual song and not just the show's theme.

Im a moonie, have been for several years. I loved this cover and I especially loved how you sang a translation of the original japanese and added the dic dub lyrics at the end. Amazing. Found this on Spotify. The fact that the metric is better when she is singing adapted/created lyrics than when she say "miracle romance" in proper english pretty amusing lol. As a person who grew up in a country that didn't change much from the original japanese dub after Sailor Moon R, I can say that the english opening is not bad, but the fact they changed the transformation music is absurd, it's almost worse than turning Haruka and Michiru into cousins. But the english opening is nice. I liked how you used it in the end. Congratz.
When I was in High School, my girlfriend was big into "Sailor Moon". Whereas to me it was the show that was on Toonami before Dragonball Z which I watched while waiting for the latter.
Flash forward 15 years and now I'm a bigger "Sailor Moon" fan than one of "DBZ".
I want to forget everything ever happened in Sailor Moon. So I can watch and fall in love again.
