Water leaks are the worst! I’m so sorry you had to demo to find the culprit. Hopefully it’s found and you have replaced all the damaged projects. The bench is terrific, a great place for kids to do homework, play games, do puzzles or have dinner. I’m looking forward to the completed project!

Missed you guys - glad you're back! The bench looks good, as all Andrea's projects. I'm surprised you didn't make the seats to lift up for storage underneath, pillows, blankets, throws from the LR, place to store out of season ones.
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Andrea, as a newbie to furniture making...well anything working with wood, could you announce the sandpaper grit when you say you're gonna sand the wood? You're giving me some confidence and I'm starting to look at power tools thinking, "Should I get a chop saw like Andrea's?" 🤔 But I don't know which sandpaper to use. TY After living in my 73yo house for 32 years, I'm FINALLY painting my ugly blonde woodwork and picking out wall paint. The walls were in bad shape and I'm filling/sanding the holes and paint drips so they'll look really nice when I apply the new paint. I picked a lovely moody olive green for an accent wall (Behr Ginger Tea) in my bedroom and with only one coat it's already so pretty! I can't shut my eyes to sleep because I keep staring at it...even in the darkened room. So, I totally get you staring at your creations. 😃 I have a project in mind. I want to make a faux fireplace mantle for my living room with secret storage nooks. 😆

Both of you are really talented, and thanks for another awesome video. However looking at your bench structure (I’m also a DIY wife), I would suggest adding some middle support. I would at least add top support spanning across your outer plywood base to the other 2x4 side. Especially where the two top pieces meet, I would add a vertical middle support as well. I just built a window bench built in, and added lots of support. But otherwise it looks great, and you work so fast!
Ugh. We’ve had multiple floods, all from different sources! We finally bought our own industrial fans to assure that we’ll never flood again ;) You know, once you spend the money to purchase, you’ll never need than again. At least that’s what we’re hoping. The bench is great! I’m surprised you didn’t build storage for games and puzzles into the bench. But maybe that’s just my lack of storage speaking lol

You're right, that stain is a nice neutral. Not too much yellow, green or red undertone yet still warm and natural feeling. I saw someone had an easy chair and little table in the corner of their kitchen, for friends to chat with them while they cooked. I occurred to me if you have to combine purposes of a room in a small home, why not put the dining table in there instead of the kitchen?
Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry about the water leak, my husband and I had quite literally finished having our kitchen totally upgraded from top to bottom, I said to him, can you believe that tomorrow when I pick up the last piece of furniture we’re going to be finished?! And then that very night, the hose on our dishwasher broke, flooded our house, we’d had custom bookshelves built on top of the carpet so those had to be torn out, new carpet had to be installed…..it was another few weeks before it was back together. Years later my son’s home got a water leak in a copper pipe under the floor in the living room……it too was a huge mess!
