My husband of 19 years now got me a singer when we were dating as a birthday present. It is the laugh of our life since then as to why he got his 23 yr old GF a sewing machine, his excuse is he was great friends with the guy in the local electrical store and this is what they came up with. Getting it I then had to learn how to use it, cos I was never thought this stuff in school. But secretly I am thankful I learned a new skill and it does come in handy, but I still mock him. To this day I don't know if he know I appreciate it!!!! Andrea I understand where you come from, unless you use it everyday you have to relearn and re-practice to get back in the swing of things!!
Hey Andrea' love your fabric choice and the position you chose for the unti in the room' ...I would personally like a shelf at the back where some candles or game book could sit and slanting the back board or make a cusion with a slant. Also I wonder why you didn't make draws under the bench at either end for the games to go in maybe you could cut out two doors and attach them with piano hinges and a latch...just saying...Rozzie...Brisbane...Australia...
You look at your home like a painter looks at a canvas. When it is blank and you look at it often enough the ideas flow. Love the corner. Now, a couple extra chairs that match the look of the bench are placed to the left of the bench and many people can play the games, without pulling chairs from another room. What do you think of that idea? You are an inspiration.
Hi Andrea, you never seize to amaze me. You are truly a Jack of all trade. Not only that but you are a pro at everything you do. Love everything you have done.
Wonderful job Andrea!! I love the table!! Can’t believe you got it for free!! The cushions you made just set it off!! I am always amazed by your skills!!🥰
I always use outdoor fabric for a cushion that our kids eat on….Joanne’s has the best selection…..if I use outdoor fabric I won’t have to put a zipper in because it can be wiped right off….maybe this will help for next time…hugs carolyn……it’s so nice that you didn’t have to stop and make a sandwich for someone…..great family!
Ooh! Good to know. Last year, a stray cat used my outdoor dining chairs as a scratching pad and ruined them. I'll check out JoAnn's since I now know they have that fabric and the cushion. The shape is tapered so not a size to order ready-made replacement square cushions.
I just love everything you do Andrea!!!❤ You're truly so talented and Dean is low-key crazy, but hilarious 😂 I do have one useless opinion lol, but I think it would be awesome to extend the bench to the fireplace or adding additional storage at the end of the bench for a more built-in look maybe a cabinet of some sort. ❤ you guys!
This turned out absolutely beautiful. You are probably going to wish you had a firmer or thicker foam pads in your seating. The ones sold at JoAnn will compress quite a bit in a short amount of use. I buy high density foam for my projects from an Etsy seller.
That’s called topstitching. And it does indeed make it look more finished. Way to go. Love the bench. I’ve been planning on making a banquette for my dining room. This is getting me inspired
Very creative use to a dead corner. Looks fantastic too! So cosy and fun that I want to come and sit there 😍 The sewing part any project had never been my trade and I don’t know why. Although I’m a patient person by nature, I always find sewing extremely boring 😂
Great job Andrea. I love your road side table find. I'm just surprised you didn't add storage drawers or cabinets on the ends or a lift up bench top for storage. Next project. ok
A FREE table serving two different areas of your house thus far! 🙌 Great addition to your living area. ❤ Love the chairs! Would you link link them please?
Great job Andrea. I was wondering if you had storage underneath the bench. It doesn't look like you put a hinged top on it. Anyway, it looks nice in that small space; it fills it just perfectly and having a hexigon table makes it easier to get in and out.
The creative ideas for table restoration and living room decor were so inspiring and I appreciated how they showed practical ways to spruce up the space without breaking the bank.
Great job on the cushions. The corner just finishes off the room! I’ve been through a pinhole in plumbing and a stopped up air conditioner drain pan (in our Houston house) that led to the replacement of really nice oak flooring, some drywall and those annoying fans!
As another female DIYer, I'm so impressed that you can sew. I can cut and install trim all day long and build furniture, but I have no idea how to sew. Hope your house is back together after that awful flood.
I never thought I could transform my living room without spending a fortune, but you showed otherwise. Now I feel confident enough to try out some of these budget-friendly decorating ideas in my own home!
That is a great idea of that space. Looks great as always. I have sewn many cushions in my day and it IS a lot harder than it looks. Plus I always used a bit of spray adhesive when putting the batting around the foam. It helps keep it in place and won't shift under the fabric when sat on.
Love the games nook! Great use of space and a wonderful family gathering area. Just one thing, could you get a white cord cover for that cord from the fireplace? (I’m a bit OCD! 🙄) 👏🏻👏🏻😍
I'm intrigued by the design idea of a random sitting area in that big living room. Definitely a cool idea but just weird concept I guess. Great job making it work though.
😂 When you are sick and not feeling well and watch the bloopers at the end and go off into a coughing fit 😂😂🎉 Yup that was me..! Thanks for adding those at the end 😂 The nook looks great ❤and so did the bench!! 😮🎉❤ Decor awesome 👏 good job 👍
I wish I had half her talent. I love diy, thrifting, repurposing, and decorating. I'm constantly thinking and having amazing ideas for our home but not a lot of time and resources. Watching y'all's channel is truly inspiring. Also...... y'all's home is gorgeous 🤩.
If you ever have to cut from the electric knife they use is literally the same one you would use to carve a turkey. I used to work at Jo-Ann’s and we had the same electric knife at home for cutting thanksgiving turkey.
Wow! This video is packed with clever tips and tricks for table restoration and living room decorating that even I, with limited DIY skills, feel confident enough to try.
Very informative! The table restoration tutorial is straightforward and achievable for beginners, and the living room decorating ideas are both stylish and practical.
When I needed to make cushions, I used a mattress topper that I cut up. Much cheaper and way more comfortable as it’s thicker and made of memory foam. But I wanted something more substantial. Yours seemed kind of thin, but maybe that’s what you wanted. LOVE the fabric!!
I love this because it could easily be a kitchen area for people wanting to do this in their homes! Love it so much! I can’t sew like at all and I need to make a cushion and if procrastinated for so long
Love that cozy corner. Everyone needs one! Great job! Love your channel. Keep on making those beautiful items.......Kudos on your talents!!!! Blessings
😮 WOWWWW U DID AN AMAZING JOB ON THIS TABLE 😊THIS AREA NOOK CAME OUT BEAUTIFUL GREAT JOB 👍KEEP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO MUCH APPRECIATED N MUCH LOVE LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING UR NEXT VIDEO ❤
if you cut the foam with an electric carving knife at home it is ridiculously easy, and fast. I got a used electric carving knife at a yard sale for under 10 bucks. I use it exclusively for foam cutting, it did come with two sets of blades, so I guess the other set is for when I want to use it in the kitchen for food.
I just found your channel with this video popping into my feed. LOVE the banquette!!! I dream of having one in my breakfast nook. Awesome job on that!!! ❤❤
Wow! This is SO beautiful. Such a lot of work - very impressive and you are so inspiring. I haven’t built things before but I feel I have it in me - I’m going to give it a go! May I ask where your velvet sofa is from? Thank you!
Love your 'message from the heart'. It was perfect. This bench came out so beautifully. Love the fabric on the cushions. Wondering if they slide around when you're using them? Is there a solution for that? Love your wood (?) floor and so sad it had to be pulled up! What flooring brand is it?
Love watching you do many of the things I did when my family was growing up. I even learned from your zipper on the game table fusion and I’ve been sewing all my life. Thank you!
I loved this game nook, will be so great for your growing family ❤ excellent and well done! That table is GORGEOUS 😍 I love free or low cost! Beautiful cushions too! I wish i could sew. I dont have enough patience. 😔
i just love your work Andrea.., new to your channel..but wow, just wow.. your so talented and love your designs...i will be watching all your videos now.
Hello there! Very beautiful! However, I have a question; why didn't you take the bench all the way to cover the whole back wall, or at least a larger part of the back wall? Because I feel like it is a bit small for that wall. I think it would fit your family night games better if the sitting on that side was larger. Just a question! I love your videos and everything you have done to your house, it is so beautiful!! 👍👏💯
Great to see you guys!! 😊 Your idea for the corner bench is cool! It's an encouragement for me to find an idea for my house! Love it!! And love you guys!! 💕

Oh, I love a booth style, cozy corner bench! Great job Andrea it's beautiful. 😍

It looks as if the table and chairs have been there for years. Well done!
Holy smokes- never occurred to me to use a dead corner like this! Love the built in- and the way you did the cushion! Thank you as always DIY maven!❤
Wonderful job Andrea!! I love the table!! Can’t believe you got it for free!! The cushions you made just set it off!! I am always amazed by your skills!!🥰
That corner looks like something out of a magazine or furniture store. Well done!

So much character in this corner!! Love how it turned out!
I love your bench build and I love your home!! You make makeovers look so easy. Your husband is so funny.
So sorry about the leak!!
But love the colors in your living room, the new nook looks so inviting!
What a great project! It looks fabulous. Another one for the books, Andrea!
A FREE table serving two different areas of your house thus far! 🙌
Great addition to your living area. ❤
Love the chairs! Would you link link them please?
Another fabulous project...I too am rekindling hobbies of the past and bought myself a new sewing machine - wish me luck!
I read some comments and didnt see that maybe use some spray glue to glue down the filling so it wont slip. You are one creative gal!
Great job Andrea. I was wondering if you had storage underneath the bench. It doesn't look like you put a hinged top on it. Anyway, it looks nice in that small space; it fills it just perfectly and having a hexigon table makes it easier to get in and out.
Yeah I would have put storage in the bench for blankets and games, etc.
I was thinking the same thing
The creative ideas for table restoration and living room decor were so inspiring and I appreciated how they showed practical ways to spruce up the space without breaking the bank.
FYI for those wondering, the search term for this kind of cushion is "boxed cushion". the sides are the boxing. and andrea did a good job!
Andrea is really something else! wonderful job you guys!!!!

Andrea. It is a big deal! You're a teacher. Please don't ever forget that. Thank you.
Everything you do is wonderful. I am sorry about the trouble with the pipe leak. Wish you all the best!

So very beautiful, Andrea !! Excellent job. Looks so so great !
Probably should have straightened it before you stained it so pretty….it looks so pretty…you are my HERO babe…hugs carolyn
Looks absolutely mint!! Love that you have reloved that vintage table, and that banquet!! Love love love!
Looks great and functional!

Nice sewing. I want to give a go at it for my rv reno. You are inspiring me!😊
Seans allowances are generally 5/8 inch. Beautiful cushions. Love the color and the pillows
All tie together so nice with the curtains
1/4 inch works too
Always 1/2 - 5/8 inch seams on upholstery with double stitching or seam binding for strength.
Do you have storage inside your nice banquette…..are there directions on how to make it….I want one too. Hugs carolyn
Fantastic makeover 🎉 and the bloopers were hilarious. 😂

This looks stunning. My only comment would be to have made hinged lids for storage under the seating.
Thanks for the new video... I'm looking forward to seeing the next!
I just found your channel with this video popping into my feed. LOVE the banquette!!! I dream of having one in my breakfast nook. Awesome job on that!!! ❤❤

Just so super cool. Both of you.
Great to see you guys!! 😊 Your idea for the corner bench is cool! It's an encouragement for me to find an idea for my house! Love it!! And love you guys!! 💕
Put a piano hinge on the seats so that the seats can be used for storage. Just a thought.
Dude, so good.
Love it. Andrea you have such an amazing decorative style.

This brought me so much joy 😊 love it.
Absolutely stunning!!
