This reminds me of my first car. 1986 Pontiac Sunbird same color no LS. It got stolen and touched. Loved that car before it got stolen it was broken into and lots of dash damage done to get my radio out. I had to put a Chevy Citation dash in it. Fit like a glove. But great video love how the original rear end was unchanged. Would have loved to have seen a small burnout in it.

What Tha, seriously! You should of had the build on video? Holy moly or holy Smokes on them little tires! The car is so clean, a chevette! Need a Citation build next, cool Body type but no engine.
I had two back in the day mid 80's. One brown one called turd 1979 and the other was rust color on top half and beige on the bottom half called butch1980. I learned my first front brake job and tune up on butch. I swear I was getting about 100 miles per gallon on that car. Great fun and great memories. Damn, now I want another one! 😊
Holy crap. An LS powered Chevette? I've owned 2 Chevettes and at 65mph you feel like you're doing 90. They are chintzy as hell, so be safe and god be with you.
Back in the late 80s, a friend inherited his grandma's Chevette his uncle wanted to make drag car from it but changed his mind after he swapped in a v8 from a Chevy Monza. My friend put Momo star wheels on it, some junkyard Recaros out a Trans Am, and 12" sub in the hatch-an ahead of it's time resto-mod. Lucky to be alive cos that thing was a handful and a half of fun...endless rolling burnouts. Traded it for a Nissan mini truck lowrider.

Make it look very sedate from the outside with a well rounded package of grip, brakimg and handling to gomwith all the power...would be absolutely sick.
4.8 L motor, and I have the same motor in my 06 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, but the 5.3 is a GMC truck motor, really nice, and I had a 87 Chevette back 30 year's ago, nice to see, thanks😊
My parents had one of these when I was little. I would love to have one to swap in just a more modern 4cyl. Doesn't take much power to turn the Chevette into a beast!
I heard a local story about a big-block powered Chevette that when the guy stomped on the gas, the windshield broke! (He didn't know there's more to it than just swapping in the motor!)

I would totally own that, a mild 375-400hp 4.7 or 5.3 in that 2500 or so lb car would probably feel and be faster than a new LT1 Camaro. Its sleeper vibe is strong except for the hood having 80% cut out to make room for the swap.

A stock Chevette has what's called a floating rear end...that will be ripping right out after you floor it afew times. The car stock. Weights 2,200 pds. You took out 325 pound drive line.
