Vega Shmaga, this is how you build a subcompact Chevy.
Hats off dude, this car is awesome.
Had a 76 Chevette in the late 70's early 80's .Sold it with 250,000 miles and with the clutch out.To a guy who's wife drove it to work in Ocala from Orlando for a few more years. What a Great Little Car 🚗❤❤❤
yep
To actually see one still around is amazing in itself. Built like that cool 😎
Right, Especially in this Condition 👻
4:55 LOVE those old school fans! I was actually surprised to see it on a build like this. Usually all you ever see now is electric fans.
Great job with this build !!
Everybody talking about a sleeper car !!
I can’t believe some of these people !
A Vega came with a four cylinder to start with.
And just seeing and listening to this car ,you aren’t going to surprise anybody .
It’s the perfect build ,pump gas with beautiful paint and sound !
Really wish I had the money I would buy it in a minute .
Great job 👏 👏👏
Thanks, we appreciate that 👍😁
This car looks like a car my buddy built and sold at Carlisle events around 1990 .delivered to New York city sanitation co. Owner. Motor was updated.

Whoever is the newest owner of this Chevette, please if you're ever interested in selling your Vette let me know. I'd be a serious buyer. Thanks.

That little death nugget is kinda cute
Death Nugget, LMAO
I wrecked one exactly like this one. Of course it was bone stock with 300,000 miles. Coming back from the Pigeon Forge rod runs at 11 o'clock at night with my then wife. We stopped at a pizza joint. Told them NO ONIONS. Got our pizza and down the road we went. I started smelling cooked onions😡. Reached back in the floorboard. Grabbed a flashlight because the interior light was 86'd. Told the wife,...."open that up please." As I'm looking down at the pie on this pitch black dark road,....I didnt realize a small curve was upon us. I see onions,...threw the light in the back while cussing the pizza establishment,....and all the sudden the motor rev's through the roof. We are in mid air over a 20ft culvert ditch. We landed perfectly into the bottom of this ditch. But it was V shaped. Our doors were pinned shut. So,.... the spare tire,.....which wasn't secured,....flew up and smack the back of my head,...forcing me to devour the rear-view mirror, knocking 3 teeth out. My wife was brutally assaulting me as I'm gathering my senses. Some guy behind us was down there shining the brightest flashlight known to man in my eyes. So yeah. It was quite the ordeal. That was a great car though. Didnt leak a drop of oil. Just a little fear oil. Great car.
OMG, What a Story!!
These Classic cars always bring back very specific Memories for People...
@@WeBeAutosLtd Yes they do. Even the bad ones.lol👌🤣🤣💪🇺🇸💪
You guys should keep it the engine and hide it under a stock hood. Keep the gear setup and figure out how to make stock size tires and wheels work. That would be a crazy sleeper.
Wow. What a clean chevette 😎👍
Thanks, She's a Lil Monster
I have a chevette but a 4 door one and I'm preparing everything to throw a v8 on it. Can you please explain how the owner addressed the steering column and brake booster spacing?
Probably an aftermarket hydroboost system would solve your problem.
Runs off power steering instead of vacuum.
@@TinyNchrome thanks. I ended up using a suzuki vacuum booster. I also have a C1500 pickup and it works nice with hydroboost. Thanks.
😮
This is EXACTLY what you do with a Chevette, Vega, or other compact car. Wouldn't mind doing this to a S-10 as well. Compact, RWD, and can shoehorn a V8 under the hood. Perfect ingredients for a nice build.
Thanks, I completely agree
I would not say this is exactly what you do, but this is a really nice option to do if you're going to put a V8 in it this is exactly what you would do, if you would want a V8 in it.
Beautiful
Pretty ass car performance exceptional build wow
Thanks :-)
I would just put a 2.0,2.2, or a 2.4 ecotec with a turbo or supercharger with a Miata 6 speed trans and rear end
VERY COOL!!!!
It sounds nice!🙂👍
Sweet!
how does it handle at 160?
That's when the custom wings come out under the doors
I Like That. Very Nice. 🇺🇸💯
Really bro, you built for your kid right!!
NICE! 🇵🇷🙂👍
Thanks 🙂
❤❤❤❤❤😎🔥🔥
How much did it sell for?
Sold for $26,000...
Weight is the same as a 280z i would rather have my Z its a 75' interesting car though not very good arrow Dynamics as a Z was the Chevette was a really cheap car in its day and now hard to find because most of them they were thrown to the crusher :)
Dot block?
Dart Block
I'd like to see it with a hood and front grill duh...
Looks Great with the Hood on, check out the Photos:

This Chevette has Been Sold...
gasp ... it's not your mom's stock 70 hp!! ... haha
Lol, Hell No
never made it through the adds
Took 3 minutes and 45 seconds to show the engine👎
I think this was Chevy's ansewer to Datsun but they failed big time. But this is a hell of build stock they were shit though.
Shit ? U must never had one lol they were the most reliable easy to work on I always had one for my run around car unbeatable reliability and simple anyone could fix far from junk the body's were cheap as hell if oil sprayed they Last like all cars oil sprayed
@@jackperry9369 I definitely gotta agree with you on this one Jack. For an entry level, cheap car, you couldn't do any better. They were for the most part, a pretty tough car. They didn't make a lot of HP but very rarely did those engines die. Timing belts would break, throw a new one on and you were good to go. It wasn't an interference engine, so no smashed valves.
Brakes were horrible,
Suspension was pretty pathetic. But it didn't matter. You drove the shit out of them. And when they were too far gone, you went and bought another one for 500 bucks or less. I owned several of them. So did all my friends. For what they were, they were great.
The rear wheel wells have been flared....you ruined the car with that.
Should have been a better sleeper.
Look at the width of the rears. That’s why you have to flare out the rear quarters to create the stance.
@@gh4121-b5n no fucking kidding
Yeah you dope... A real sleeper with those tires... Go back to the PS4
@@brianlight3853 I said "a better sleeper"
