I wrecked one exactly like this one. Of course it was bone stock with 300,000 miles. Coming back from the Pigeon Forge rod runs at 11 o'clock at night with my then wife. We stopped at a pizza joint. Told them NO ONIONS. Got our pizza and down the road we went. I started smelling cooked onions😡. Reached back in the floorboard. Grabbed a flashlight because the interior light was 86'd. Told the wife,...."open that up please." As I'm looking down at the pie on this pitch black dark road,....I didnt realize a small curve was upon us. I see onions,...threw the light in the back while cussing the pizza establishment,....and all the sudden the motor rev's through the roof. We are in mid air over a 20ft culvert ditch. We landed perfectly into the bottom of this ditch. But it was V shaped. Our doors were pinned shut. So,.... the spare tire,.....which wasn't secured,....flew up and smack the back of my head,...forcing me to devour the rear-view mirror, knocking 3 teeth out. My wife was brutally assaulting me as I'm gathering my senses. Some guy behind us was down there shining the brightest flashlight known to man in my eyes. So yeah. It was quite the ordeal. That was a great car though. Didnt leak a drop of oil. Just a little fear oil. Great car.

You guys should keep it the engine and hide it under a stock hood. Keep the gear setup and figure out how to make stock size tires and wheels work. That would be a crazy sleeper.

Probably an aftermarket hydroboost system would solve your problem.

This is EXACTLY what you do with a Chevette, Vega, or other compact car. Wouldn't mind doing this to a S-10 as well. Compact, RWD, and can shoehorn a V8 under the hood. Perfect ingredients for a nice build.

@@jackperry9369 I definitely gotta agree with you on this one Jack. For an entry level, cheap car, you couldn't do any better. They were for the most part, a pretty tough car. They didn't make a lot of HP but very rarely did those engines die. Timing belts would break, throw a new one on and you were good to go. It wasn't an interference engine, so no smashed valves.
      Brakes were horrible,
Suspension was pretty pathetic. But it didn't matter. You drove the shit out of them. And when they were too far gone, you went and bought another one for 500 bucks or less. I owned several of them. So did all my friends. For what they were, they were great.
