Suren It's stunning isn't it ? Technology improves so quickly. It's amazing. Soon we won't even be able to tell the difference between the real and the unreal anymore... That's gonna be awesome. When we come to this point, I hope CD Projekt will make animated short films, because they're really talented. Their trailers are not only extremely beautiful, they're also always super cool to watch !

Exactly what I *don't* want to see : Hollywood starting to produce animated films. No really, I'm not a big fan of American cliché action films. CD Projekt on the other hand has a very particular style, their trailers/intros are always modest but badass at the same time, I don't know how to explain it but it's really rythmical, no clichés and stuff, lots of unexpected action etc. I *love* CD Projekt's style. But Hollywood should stick with classic film-making. If you haven't seen it, go check the Witcher 2 intro, their style is much more noticable in it.

Only if some other high vaimpire would fed her corpse with his blood. If the villagers would burn everything like Geralt always suggested they are safe.
a) No, villagers weren't safe, it's mentioned countless times that a vampire won't die if not killed by other vampire.
b) Yeah, she still needed other high vampire but in Toussaint there must be a few of them and I think it wasn't really wise of Geralt to make an enemy of such powerful creature. Plus, villagers? Really? In books it was mentioned that (when Geralt was speaking to Regis, who asked about his "price") "for a usual vampire I require as much money as a good palfrey costs. And you are definitely not usual." and when Regis inquired, Geralt said "No one can afford."
So since Dettlaff was paid for by a monarch (she gave him 5000 gold and a vineyard, it is quite a lot of money) it was fine, but how rich must have been this villagers?!
It took Regis what, 50 years to regenerate from being decapitated and otherwise maimed when he was caught by the villagers? 50 years isn't quite a peasant's possible lifetime, but everybody but the children would be perfectly safe for basically the rest of their lives. And that's assuming that regenerating from total incineration would take the same time as regeneration from decapitation.
Fucking amazing that is actually a tie in as an epilogue to a dlc that came out a year later absolutely genius

Bruxa are often adolescent girl-sized, sprout bat wings when they transform and the only sound they make is with a sonic scream that can crush organs and blood vessels. Everything else is spoken telepathically as they cannot physically speak even in their humanoid "disguise".
I'd like to see a full length Witcher CGI movie in the future.

Put aside how well the animatoin is done. The song is amazing, and the fight as well. But what gets to me the most is seing the tear the vampire sheads when she realize she is dying. Even such creatures have feelings and want to live. We see her as something evil, but she is just a creature like any other. She was a predator, on top of the food chain for a long time and now it's over. This perfectly sums up the cruel world of the witcher. It rains on the just and the unjust alike.

She's an Alp to be precise
The woman in the trailer simply can't be an Alp. Alps can't go invisible according to lore. To quote witcher wikia: "Also the female vampire from 'A Night to Remember' trailer is, according to the developers, none other than a bruxa".
There's also no doubt Orianna from Blood and Wine is the woman in the trailer. Or at least that was the intention of the developers. Identical 3D model, the same song being sung, the same voice actress used etc. However that does conflict quite a bit with how other Bruxas are portrayed in the book lore and in-game.
Bruxas can take human female forms to lure their victims but they mostly dwell in forests and secluded areas and avoid contact with humans as even normal people can tell they are not human fairly quickly after coming in contact with them. To quote in-game books from Blood and Wine: "Fortunately for us all, bruxae are rare creatures. Most live far from population centers, for they care greatly for their own safety and make their lairs in places where they cannot be taken by surprise. Those who decide to live near men avoid crowds and emerge from their shelters only at night."
Orianna exhibits none of these traits. She lives in a mansion in Beauclair, is sociable enough to throw parties and soirees with dozens of guests who all know her, she runs an orphanage. Her intelligence, her ability to mingle with humans undetected, her ability to control her urges (she feeds but does not kill) point to a high vampire very much like Regis and Dettlaff. Certainly a higher vampire than a Bruxa.
So while CDPR said she's a Bruxa, her behaviour is much different to a Bruxa based on the the lore they themselves put in the in-game books. So they didn't tie it up very well unfortunately.

+Logando Hardkiller well it definitely is orianna, however we don't know for a fact that orianna was ever a higher vampire, she may have just been a bruxae all along. Either that or they just made a mistake.
Shes 100% a bruxae, its right here in the trailer. If she were a higher vampire Geralt could not kill her. If I understand correctly the older the vampire the more powerfull he gets, eventualy becoming a higher vampire and if they live for ages they become Silent Elders. I asume Bruxae are one of the many paths of evolution of a vampire, one very close to a higher vampire as they are sentient and can shapeshift. Oriana seemed to be a very powerfull bruxae so she was probably in her way to be a higher vampire.

Yes and the way they tied her into the story basicaly means this takes place after Blood and Whine, probably after the whole game. The Witcher comes back to fulfill his promise to her. Luky for us she was "just" a powerfull Bruxa and not a highr vampire.

Major goosebumps and chills when Orianna started singing to the orphan kid and realized what this was all about.

This entire time, this was from the Blood and Wine Expansion!!!! I can't believe CDPR has kept this a secret for so long!!! I also thought that was Novigrad in the background, but it was The Palace from Toussaint. I was wondering why this wasn't in the original game... Everything is so clear now.

Based on what lore I have read, This creature seems to be a High Vampire - Nosferat.
Can turn Invisible, shapeshifting, hardened skin, exceptionally dextrerous, and particularly very monstrous looking in native form.
This one seems very familiar with Geralt, the pain of doing this business crosses his face briefly, as he is about to begin the final hunt on her.
He weakens her severely via the Black Blood alchemy potion as it seems her abilities seem to drastically drop once getting poison after Geralt's intentional drop of his sword lures her in for the presumably fatal bite. She too late realizes her mistake, her judgment clouded by fear, and takes a crippling strike, then as she desperately crawls away, takes 2 silver bolts to the back. Geralt lets the sunrise finish it's deadly work on this child of the night.
To Monsters, a Witcher is the stuff of nightmares to Monsters, with Geralt being most feared of all.
At the end, the tear is representative of the fear and realization of death to the once deathless vampire.
It seems to be (opinion) the end of an age, The deadly dance of Witchers and Monsters... while a new one of men and empires is ushering in.
Witchers and Monsters are not needed nor wanted in this new era of human dominance.
Both are endangered species.

Man, I love this trailer. The best parts for me are a couple of really subtle moments, too-- when Geralt says 'nice tune' at the beginning, and the Bruxa scowls just a tiny bit... and then at the end when she dies and you can see her face go slack. Really nice work.

Bjarki Þorleifsson Actually, Ive checked the bookstore in England where I live now, and most of the Witcher Saga has been translated, the only two that haven't are The Swallow's Tower and Lady of the Lake, and The Season of Storms but you don't really need that one for the Saga.

I freaked out when i saw her in the dlc!
This game is insane. I finally got around to play it and now this cinematic makes so much more sense. Geralt use every single thing that's strong against this kind of monster (Black blood, Aard Sign and Moonstar dust bomb), that's the witcher way and how you are supposed to fight this creature when you encounter it in-game
Still, to this day, I can't get over how good of a cinematic this trailer is.

It was Aard mark, but i thnik it's not cat elixir, only this black blood one. It makes his blood poisoned for those who bites him, not for himself.

swarm 3003 i have both DAI and W3, and I will have to say content quality-wise, W3>DAI. But for the sheer amount to stuff to do DAI>W3. I can easily spend over 200 hours in a single play through of DAI, but roughly 100 hours in W3

Yeah, I love seeing ladies sit inside a bench, half of their model in a wall. Still more polished than FO4, then again, that aint saying much.
When I went to Ard Skellig for the first time, a bunch of ladies were washing clothes in buckets. I thought, "Man that looks like hard work." Right when I said that, some of them stood up and started stretching their back muscles. Details like this are in a game that is 250 hours long if you include the expansions.
The music was such a great choice for this trailer. This is definitely one of my favourite trailers

It's irritating the Batman games received more 10/10 scores than the Witcher 3, when the Witcher obviously did everything better.

klenti ss You want it to look like this? You would need at least a Titans ($860+). So you're spending more for graphics and a strong CPU to even get it past ULTRA which looks less than the trailer.

They exist for one reason, the emotional destruction of the good people who inhabit the earth. They get a "high." feeding on the sadness and despair of those around them, and indeed try to effect that change. Imagine someone who showed interest in you, married you, made you believe that you were the most wonderful person in the world, then changed and began making you feel sad and distressed, all the while eating this despair energy, and receiving pleasure from your pain. Suddenly they cheat on you, leave you, use you, degrade you, and you find out later that they specifically targeted you for mere amusement, while you , broken, are considering suicide. Detlaff was not justified, but he was also not weak or naive. That curse is real.

Interesting to see after the Blood and Wine that what we witnessed before the begninning (this trailer) of this masterpiece game is actually the end of storyline. Witcher universe made June 2015 - June 2016 ''a year to remember''. After completing Blood and Wine got slight feeling of bright sadness, realizing that this is a goodbye. Oh well, Geralt deserved a rest. So do fans, they will now spend nights or days playing Gwent perhaps or replaying games and re-reading books. I will miss the universe, I will sure comeback to it and not once (have to replay on Death March difficulty). But still it feels like your friend that you knew for a long while has traveled away. Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah! Goodbye, Geralt.

I don't know what kind of creature it is, but isn't it a little strange that it changes back into a 'human' form just before death? Though it is quite poetic in nature, especially in this video, it seems this only adds a bit to the mystery of this creatures type.
Normally you would think it's power would fade and reveal it's true self right before and after death. But I really have no idea if that is Witcher lore friendly mechanics or not...
