The Greatest Power Metal Band That Ever Lived, Long Live HELLOWEEN!!!
Another classic!
Hell🎃ween were the first power metal band I ever listened to back in the 80s and despite having three different vocalists over the years (each one exceptional) their melodies and music has never depreciated over time. It's hard to even recommend songs because they're all so good!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Finally someone that's not all about Kiske and actually appreciates what each singer brought to the band thank you brother, all singers are back together in the band again, all if their albums have great songs so I'm looking forward to their new album.

This Band is so awesome. My absolute favourite Band.
Best song from that album. That album is amazing but this is the best song and to me one of their all time best songs. And this is the cool thing about the singer, Andi Deris. He is not just locked down on doing high pitched vocals. He does those low and evil sounding vocals as well. Very talanted singer and the completely right singer for Helloween.
Goddamnit, Germany is a beast of a country when it comes to these types of bands. Helloween, Edguy, Blind Guardian....

A bit of a clarification: “The Keeper of the seven keys - the Legacy “ was released in 2005, and its obviously a continuation of the story from the original keepers from 1987 and 1988. With a completely new material. The problem was that the original saga was released and composed by the old lineup with Kiske as a lead vocalist and The Legacy was with Deris. Blasphemy! The news that this album was upcoming made fans, myself included, very skeptical. Everyone doubted that The Legacy would be able to capture the original magic and honestly with past experience with lots of other bands these were unpleasant disappointments- when they lack new ideas and try to recreate their former glory.
In Helloween‘s case however things are always with a twist - they surprised everyone and blew us away. That’s generally what they keep doing. “King for 1000 years “ is the opening track

This song's structure is very interesting, with the 'true' chorus (the one the song will end at) not appearing until almost the 9 minute mark, and the finale where both choruses finally meet.
This, as well as Occasion Avenue, is the continuation of the Keeper song. May be the best album with the Deris guy :)

I think it's about corruption in general.
The lyrics are delivered from the devil's point of view, he is tempting someone ("you"), offering him power and a very long life if he acts as "his human hand".
This other character ends up accepting the deal, he becomes corrupted and that's when the creepy voice comes in.

Good evening and thanks for your reply. This is a class song, however it is the 3rd Keeper Album and is a continuation of the story from the first 2 albums, which for you reacting to can make it difficult to see what is happening and what has happened before, however just as a song alone it is excellent and very powerful. The drumming was crazy and I loved the bass solo as well. I hope your back isn't too sore after listening and moving to this song. Take care and have a good day.
Hahahahaha I didn’t wanna say anything but listening to this track and headbanging had my back sore as hell yesterday. Halloween is definitely making my down time more enjoyable though.
I haven't heard this for well over 20+ years. Maybe 30. It was like listening to it for the first time because it was so far from my memory. I remember this album and loving it, I just can't understand how Helloween didn't become a more popular band. Keeper of the 7 Keys was an epic album. One of the most underrated bands and albums ever.

Helloween signed for EMI and was taken in by Iron Maiden's management Sanctuary. However Noise Records took them to court which prevented Pink Bubbles Go Ape from being promoted, and also tried to obscure that record by publishing the compilation The Best, The Rest, the Rare concurrently. To make things worse, Chris Tsangarides's production didn't fulfil the expectations (he came from producing Painkiller) and Storm Thorgerson's artwork and design was very alienating for a metal audience. All in all, it didn't succeed, paving the way for the very sincere and diverse but utterly non-metal and commercially failed Chameleon.

I really mean it - yes, it deserves a place among the greatest songs of Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and the rest of the immortal hits that made the last 100 years tolerable

If power metal was a mountain, Helloween have reached the top and stuck the flag in. Everyone else is still climbing. Some are hanging on for dear life and others are showing promise but no one is coming close!!!!!!

I think you're ready for the granddaddy of power metal, Blind Guardian. Hansi Kursch is a legend and one of the best male vocalists ever to grace the stage. One of their most popular songs is Mirror Mirror, which is based on JRR Tolkien's "Silmarillion" (Lord of the Rings universe). I personally love "Ride into Obsession", which is based on Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series ( I am biased however because I love the Wheel of Time). I'm going to recommend this a bit out of order from a lot of people, but I would start with one of those to get a feel for the band. Then watch their absolutely memorizing live performance of The Bard's Song from Wacken 2016.
