After two years of working through the transparency of things, treating it as an experiential workbook, I am so grateful for Rupert’s understanding and clarity. What I don’t get is why he feels the need to mock walking meditation. It is a practical tool for bringing attention in alignment with present moment body sensation. The person gets to directly experience some of what Rupert is talking about. And there is ample research documenting the benefits.

Sometimes teachers like to have a little cheeky dig at other methods only to make a point - which I'd say in this case is to express that it's important to not make spiritual enquiry a grim duty. Rupert personally finds the idea of being amongst nature and turning that into a mechanical practice unpalatable and is making his point that spiritual enquiry can be a beautiful embrace of life and nature around you. So I'd say take such a response from Rupert with a grain of salt. It's a very Rupert-flavoured response, embedded with his perspective which we've come here to listen to. Rupert has admitted that he sometimes encourages traditional medication practices for certain people. Rupert would also be the first to acknowledge that Ramana Maharshi is a far greater authority on the matter, and he certainly recommended such practices for some people who found their minds too unsteady to practice self-enquiry. Also, you may simply find you are drawn to mindfulness practice - that's also fine. Rupert would no doubt be the first to encourage you to go with the path you are attracted to. He frequently acknowledges the validity of the 'progressive' path (as opposed to only his own preferred 'direct' path).

Robert understands meditation is not what you do or what you do not do, if anyone thinks, mediates is better thinking about your issues all the time.

I think maybe an important part that a lot of people don't realize is in thinking there are four parts namely thinking, visualization, awareness, and intention or attention. Most of the time we are jumping all around in thinking or imagination. Rarely are most people in awareness state, or know how to get there, or to get into natural resonance instead or intentionally regulation.

i just find nothing beats resting in self, i still be around people but i hardly speak, every relationship seems to small and insignificant and nothing as true love as what i found in myself.
