With the right parts, you can get all 3 defenses to 50.

You'll really like this suit once the balance changes make it to PC. We just got them recently on PS. It makes the Gustav much better.

Basically, gmiii powered on steroids. Forget coolers and thrust for ag3. Forced tackle + melee strength go brrrrrt

​@@joyoobility9176 Yeah. Though I will say as powerful as it is the suit feels in some ways more flawed than the GM3 powered at it's cost. At the very least you could say that the Gustav Karl has worse matchups ad it's native cost. The glaring problem I see with the Gustav is that it suffers on maps with any kind of long range sight against shooting type suits. The Gustav really needs to get in with melee to do any kind of damage and it's ballistic weapons are bad at range for stunning with how difficult it would be to hit a target. Plus with it's ranged options all being below cost they do very little damage on their own. Even with 50's in defenses and active guard you're at a cost where almost every suit has at least 2 instant stuns among other options and you'll be targeted and punished heavily if you mess up your guards or get caught by multiple people. It's definitely a fun suit to play but I think mastering the active guard system will be essential for doing well with it.

I enjoyed using the Gustav, fully maxed out the melee defense and my reaction when someone hits me "Ha, you tickle me".
I do wish thrusters usage would only activate when something is hitting you in ACTIVE GUARD instead of thrusters constantly being used all the time.
But it's still a tank and solid suit, would recommend.
