i hate that i can't express myself in the way i want to because the place i live isn't so accepting to change . this is inspiring because i know that my eccentric fashion fantasies will be appreciated once i move to manhattan after high school.
eric quintero I'm from way south Louisiana & I am a ridiculous flower that likes to mix patterns and colors. I've never been accepted where I grew up & disliked myself for being "weird" but it turns out I'm completely boring once I moved. Now I feel free to be whatever kind of flower I want! Hang in, set goals, find yourself but don't give up.
So inspired by these artists, makes me want to be more bold. They are so unafraid meanwhile I'm self conscious of wearing too bright of a lipstick color.
Where is the POC LGBTQ rep??? Who BEGAN this whole culture sett from ballroom days in the 80s and 90s???? Come on ID give credit where credit is due! Black LGBTQ started this whole party scene!!! #AllFace
I have mixed feelings about "club kids". Sometimes I find the whole idea of dressing up and living out a fantasy really inspiring... other times I watch the old footage and feel kind of depressed. I was never a big dresser but I knew people who dressed up as robots or fluoroed themselves up and were an integral part of the party... I don't know, maybe I'm just old and jaded. I haven't even set foot in a nightclub or rave for nearly 20 years... But to any young clubberkiddie reading this my message is ROCK ON!!
Those were some cute Galliano-era Dior® saddle bags at 4:54. They were everywhere during the late 90s/early 2000s, but unfortunately - you hardly ever seen them anymore.
As an early teen I was absolutely fascinated with the original club kids by what I saw on talkshows and such. I always wanted to visit the limelight. And now these beautiful people gave the creative scene a new boost of energy. As a 37 year old, I’d love to visit Battle Hymn!
This has already been done OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN... and it was done correctly and authentically in the 80's-mid 90's... Then lady Gaga stole it again in 08'. It just feels tired now .
I would rather party with the original club kids of the late 80's early 90's. I met some of them yrs ago. They truly were the original club kids. With such a tragic ending. So sad...
@@ameliashostak4764 Really? Wow how sad is that? Nobody around him saw this coming. I feel like nobody even tried to get him the help he needed! Trajic ending...
Im.... leaving this video slightly confused. Interested but very very confused... It is very different and kinda hard to look at in some cases. I honestly don't like it but hey as long as they are happy I guess it's fine to dress as crazy and creative as they want.
@@Ninabnina711 What clubs would you go to? What clubs are still around holding club kids? I’m in my late teens and plan on moving to New York in about 2 years.
How do they even imagine these sort of ensembles. I aspire to explore and expand my wardrobe. Drag is inspiring and iconic. "We're born naked and the rest is drag." - RuPaul
I’m not even kidding, out of curiosity I walked near where Battle Hymn takes place during the time that it opened (as of today), and as of now, it’s overrun by muscular queer cis men.
idcaf They are a bunch of crazy F s, I know. But I think it would be fun to go to one of thier clubs. Wouldn't do what they do, but it would be a fun atmosphere. They're so original. They're not trying to be like everyone else. I like that. They're so facinatingly wierd.
How can this be Underground? They promoted there Scene really well. But one question is still open for me. Representing these guys really thereself and why do you need so much change? Because when you find yourself, you dont need an big change in the way you were seen. and these guys live for the attention from much people, but you can hold the many people, when you change much??? I dont really understnd this. would be great, i someone can help me.

Yes, very true. Only the very lucky got the chance to see what it was like in the 80's and 90's. Fortunately I was one of the very lucky.
