Watching this on New Year's Eve 2020 alone in my bedroom lol. This year really sucked but I hope we can all get back to partying next year like Nelson and his friends.

Its so weird watching these vids of Nelsons exciting life, sad because they took his body back to SC to be buried and now his grave is just a little flat weathered , dirty tombstone with his name on it in a cemetery miles and miles away from his favorite city. When I go to cemetaries I always wonder what kind of life did that person have? Who did they meet? Etc. Nelsons grave just looks like the old graves you see that nobody pays attention to anymore since they've been gone so long. Then you get on YT and there he is like it was just the other day. Kind of like staring into a time machine lol.
Nelson's flat, shown here in this video, was turned into a museum where part of it has been dedicated to him and his videos. In fact, I believe on the top floor is his answering machine (at least this was the case pre-COVID, not sure how that has altered things).

nelson feels so vibrant here in a way we don't see in many of his other videos. it's really interesting how certain contexts can pull something out of us we don't normally put on display. he lived such a full life and i'm so glad he recorded as much as he did.

I was one of the only straight girls in the clubs or at parties. Lol. I never once felt out of place or like I didn't belong. I can relate to so many of these videos. We went to circuit parties all over the country, the Roxy, and had just plain fun wherever we went. Such a great time in my life! ❤️

I was wondering the same thing. I just came across a documentary on youtube 'Club Kids in the 80's', and saw that Michael Alig and Freeze murdered Angel Melendez in 1996. What a trip- Nelson, Freeze, and and Michael all knew each other and partied together. Kind of sad though that many Club Kids fell into drug addictions over time and drugs/drug debt was the cause of that murder.
DAMN can you imagine back then doing this kind of vhsblogg with Videocameras the size of a bazooka, and you had to have at least 2 tapes and a huge backpack. it seems to have been such a better times then our, not to mention he is after all seeing years later here on internet :)
I love these videos and I love Nelson and I don’t mean this towards him. I know they are all very much high on drugs so it’s kind of understandable but some of Nelson’s friends give off a bit of a narcissistic vibe. I wouldn’t trust most of them.
I find the culture to be over the top and quite degenerate. That said, I have been watching Nelsons videos for a while now, and he is an absolute southern gentleman gay man. He's got too much class for these people.
