Johnny can use tusk act 4 at will. But he just cant achieve infinite rotation without horse. This is also why Johnny needed Mr Steels' horse to stop infinite rotation in his body.
"Imagine Johnny running at someone with Act Four" And that's why Araki had to kill him. He gave Johnny legs and probably realized two seconds after writing that in that Johnny needed to be killed because of how busted his Stand and Johnny as a character became. TA4 was already top tier but when he gave Johnny his legs, the Stand's power, versatility, and overall strength became infinite.
It really symbolizes the idea of character growth which goes particularly well with Koichi and Johnny - both of them start out as meek and pretty much inoffensive people who were forced to stand for themselves and their loved ones.
I've been rereading Part 7 recently and Tusk is honestly one of the best stands that represents a complete character arc. And the fact that we only see it perform the iconic "OraOraOraOra!" Line once during the climatic fight against Valentine left such a satisfying payoff
Tusk is easily the best stand. Versatile, abilities are pretty deadly, hard to defend against, and act 4 can easily overpower most stands with physical strength alone. D4c didn't even bother to try to punch back.
Yeah but TA4 is incredibly hard to deploy and Johnny still 'lost' to Diego in their final battle. Also Johnny himself says in eyes of heaven that GER is able to reset even infinity to zero.
Ok so basically Ta1: 10 shots 1 minute cooldown Ta2: stinger shots that use spin on nature Ta3: a void Johnny camps in and can shoot at people thru it and nobody else can harm him while in the void Ta4: infinite spin, physical stand, Johnny can walk, move in ts, and break dimensional barriers
Tusk 3 is one of my favorite powerups in just about anything, for a lot of reasons. For one, he EARNED it; he didn't just randomly get stronger, but rather, he technically COULD have done it from the moment he had Tusk 2, but didn't unlock it until he thought of it. But also, it's not an increase to his power, but rather his mobility, but this is still given the respect it deserves. The crazy maneuverability and tactical advantage T3 gives you is WAY more important than just being able to do more damage, and Araki is smart for acknowledging that and using that to his advantage instead of just treating it like something minor. In other words, it's the thinking man's power up; he had to think to unlock it, he has to think to utilize it, and the fact that it is so prominent means Araki puts a lot of thought into positioning and tactics, which a lesser writer may not do. It's why it, and JoJo, are awesome. (And One Piece gets a lot of the same compliments, btw. Oda and Araki both put a lot of thought into their action choreography, and it pays off HUGE)
Yeah, it's a real shame that we never get to see him vs Funny Valentine, it would have been a really intereseting fight due to the fact that both can hide in a world that they control (d4c in parallel universes, and tusk act 3 in the infinity)
He’s creating singularities. At the center of a black holes, theoretically lies the singularity. An infinite point of mass that defies all laws of physics and some say is the portal to another universe. That would explain its properties of infinity, as well as its ability to transcend dimensions.
I feel it’s more of a spiritual or non-physical ability. The golden ratio, or infinity, is everywhere in nature, and will never end (the life cycle, water cycle, ect) and so it doesn’t really need to have a real reason to work. It’s just the epitome of all nature, and since everything that’s ever existed is, you know, natural (not man-made), including time, gravity, etc, it makes sense that it can move in time-stop, through dimensions, and never end.
I like to think that the increase in power is compounding from each act to the next. Act 1: A normal pistol, or in rare cases, about as strong as a shotgun. Act 2: Sniper Rifle+, and aimbot. Act 3: Unrestricted movement as long as there is a surface to be on. Act 4: UNLIMITED POWAAAAAAH!!!
I think the fact that tusk is shown to invalidate The World’s time stop is a huge power move story wise. Up until this point the strongest non requiem stands we’ve seen so far has been MiH and let’s say SP/TW. Of course there’s more like KC but you get the point. So to have one of, if not the strongest stand, TW, show up in part 7, only to have its ability deemed useless/ineffective against Tusk Act 4 is huge on its own. We see in part 6 that MiH can only reduce the time stop, but tusk just flat out ignores it because you can’t stop infinity. Which might actually imply tusk is faster than light speed. Edit: okay so everyone is shitting on me for saying tusk is faster than light speed, I was only saying that he might be due to how he interacts with TW, using MiH as an example. But either way tusk is broken asf.
Actually even the mid tier stands are FTL like Silver Chariot RHCP Crazy Diamond, Silver Chariot deflects beams from the sun, Crazy Diamond reacts and dodges RHCP and more
@@Anrezs even twitching is impressive if the fight went longer it’s possible Tusk/Johnny could have started to flat out ignore time stop all together. That also leads to the question could the infinite rotation follow Pucci and MIH even if he managed to reset the universe.
@@vanguardtrainer924 yeah, if changing universes didnt stop the infinite rotation for funny valentine, why would resetting the universe stop the infinite rotation for pucci?
I personally think tusk act 4 could defeat "gold experience requiem" but it's a 50/50 gamble. Giorno get hits by the spin revert to 0 happens and right before Johnny gets the muda g.e.r starts spinning; due to the nature of true infinity having no beginning or end once it exists it can't be reverted even if the action itself is reverted to 0 the spin will continue. It's essentially an unstopable force vs immovable object
Since GER is basically omnipresent I doubt Johnny would even get a chance to shoot Giorno it’s almost the same as WOU in a away but maybe even more broken, ANY action you do to hurt Giorno GER is there and you’re F**ked.
The only problem with your ideea is the fact that you're assuming Giorno gets hit by the spin in the first place, but GER starts reversing time before something even touches Giorno. That's why king crimson didn't rip out Giorno s heart, like in his prediction, GER stopped him before he even touched Giorno
@@robreja1377 but that’s the point, as soon as it is fired it will keep going until it hits its target and even after it hits its target infinitely. Even if GER reverts everything as soon as it is fired it wouldn’t matter because everything but Tusk would be reverted and Tusk will just completely neg and bypass the return to zero. 🤷♂️
Just a subtle note - the reason that act 4's infinite cell rotation followed Funny Valentine through dimensions and onto completely different Valentines is because the rotation was actually on D4C's body, not Valentine's. And since he tried to transfer D4C onto a new Valentine - whatever happens to the stand happens to the user - the new Valentine starts spinning because it's on the stand. That part I found absolutely mortifying.
Holy you are the first person that i have seen who actually knows this, the reason it was going to different valentine's is not because it targets all valentine's it was the stand users life energy which would be doing it.
The funny thing is, legit your dead either way, ANY OTHER STAND except D4C is getting washed Even if they hit the stand or the user. Because they can’t hop dimensions. Meaning, Johnny quite literally can only be countered by VALENTINE HIMSELF AND NO OTHER PERSON.
The only thing about Tusk Act 4 that makes it less of a threat than others is, he only can use Act 4 if he has the perfect rotation on horseback. Act 3 is still a stand that can make Johnny pretty strong so I think it's okay.
Tusk act 4 actually scares me because imagine having every molecule in your body spin at insane speeds for all of eternity until you either get mercy killed or the spin is reversed
in theory(correct me if im wrong) if all your cells where to spin at infinite speeds, it wouldnt be possible dure to the laws of nature so either your entire body would split across and yes across the entire fucking universe in under seconds, every cell would just dissaper due to atoms completely ripped apart, or rare casses you would just live but as soon as you touch something bam nigga you gone.
true, thinking about chariot requiem's ability shows how scary a requiem stand is. And think about if polnareff has the mental capacity to control chariot requiem to avoid him getting berserk and incomplete.
@@tracksanino957 it’s not like he didnt have the mental capacity to use it, it’s just he fucking died when obtaining it, causing the stand to go berserk
14:39- imagine it the Spin had the same slow aging process that Hamon/Sendo/The Ripple did and allowed Johnny to be at a physical prime for a much longer time and maybe live long enough to Part 8. He’d be able to one-shot every villain there and maybe bypass Wonder of U’s calamity to hurt Tooru or at least be equal enough to stall Tooru until Gappy gets an opening. No wonder Johnny died the way he did, he’d essentially end the conflict then and there. And one could only imagine the terrors that would unfold with a potential act 5.
The infinite spin could in no circumstance bypass Wonder of U. The nail bullet johnny would have to shoot would just miss and hit him or someone else instead
@@softandwet7584 I was always under the impression that Wonder of U didn't deflect damage like D4C: Love Train did, but rather was more like: oh you hurt me x1? I'll hurt you x2. So If Johnny even got close enough to Tooru (which is unlikely has he likely had the intent to pursue and would have been struck by a calamity) he would have one-shot Tooru, but since the Calamity persists post-mortem Johnny would have gotten absolutely railed and destroyed by something stronger than infinity, like maybe he would simply have a whole plane crash right on top of him or some shit.
@@laurentrighetti9645 Wonder of U will basically make it so that if you direct an attack towards it, it'll miss him and somehow come back to hurt you (like when Mamezuku tried to shoot him and the gun exploded). It has control over the flow of Calamity and since an attack hitting him is a calamity, he can redirect it away from him
@@softandwet7584 but like, Spin and Hamon are extremely similar, and Gappy uses inf rotation bubbles, so in theory, Johnny Joestar could kick Tooru’s ass. And don’t forget his barrier breaking powers. Also about your argument that Wonder of U redirects calamities, isn’t that a lighter version of Love Train?
@@softandwet7584 but wasn’t josuk8’s bubbles just pure spin energy? If the infinite spin can penetrate Love Train then surely it would be able to ignore Wonder of U, but I doubt Johnny would be able to shoot him before a calamity would cause his horse to trip and fall down.
My top 10 stands: 1) Soft & Wet (Strongest offensive ability in the series. It can't be seen, felt or nullified.) 2) Gold Experience Requiem (I don't need to explain.) 3) Wonder Of U (It breaks every rule of stand battles. Just think about pursuing him and you're pretty much dead.) 4) Tusk (Strongest offensive stand after S&W. Its destructive ability is terrifying, capable of breaking through some of the strongest defenses in the series.) 5) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (One of the most versatile stands in the series. The only way you can kill Valentine is doing it in one hit, or he will just travel through another dimension and heal his wounds. With Love Train, he's pretty much invincible.) 6) Made In Heaven (Fastest stand in the entire series and universal range.) 7) Weather Report (Too goddamn versatile. Plus snails.) 8) King Crimson (Predicting future and erasing time means you're almost invincible). 9) Star Platinum/The World (Physically strongest stands in the entire series, extremely fast, precise and ability to stop time.) 10) C-Moon (Impressive range, control of gravity and ability to turn inside out everything it punches. Its balance of attack and defense is insane.) Honorable mentions: - Cream - Heaven's Door - Killer Queen - Silver Chariot Requiem - Green, Green Grass Of Home - Ball Breaker
i think the hand should replace cream in the honorable mentions because, using cream makes you blind making it easy to dodge while also proving the hand to be stronger due to the fact its cream but with smaller range and no debuffs (excluding the attack speed)
Something you didn’t mention which kinda make’s sense cause act 4 only uses it twice is it’s strange ability to “pull open” things. I say pull open cause it’s kind weird to describe. What I’m talking about is when he was able to pull open the road to enter the sewers when he was chasing Diego and by extension when he was able pull open d4c love train. The way I’ve always interpreted this is that Johnny is able to create a space of nothing inside an object by pulling with infinite force. He is literally grabbing the elementary particles of existence and creating a space of nothing by pulling them apart.
I interpret it more like the power of infinity allows nothing to impede it. Anything that is in the way of Tusk and his target will simply be pushed aside as the power of infinity simply moves through it.
Man I really don't know anything about Jojo but the way the stan evolves and how Jonny's story develops really reflect the themes of Fleetwood Macs tusk. It's kind of crazy. The writing of this manga must be detailed as hell
Let's be real here, if you gave Johnny the same prep against AW Diego. Johnny would've clapped him. He spent all of that fight HANDICAPPED and it was still close. "Diego lost a leg" Any fight is a close fight when you just one shot someone. It's a hot topic if GER could stop Tusk Act 4. But either way when you look at things. Part 8 Johnny is the scariest stand user. Either the strongest stand user or 2nd strongest at WORST. 3rd/4th if you count EoH. Just think about that.
remember, this is the second strongest stand in Canon GER is just a big red button with "didn't happen" written on it, and nothing is safe from the big red button
Tusk act 4 is not the second strongest, he just has the perfect counter to love train. Twau beat Tusk act 4, so could king crimson, cream, WOU, GER, S&W GB, Star platinum, MIH, TW. All of them beat him
@@Yasumui they do, and reset to zero is a name jackass it isnt its actul ability, tusk act 4 wont even be able to fire. It will be like when diavolo tried to erase time, and he was shown what would have happened had he been allowed to do it
@@Yasumui prove how any of them would lose? Tusk lost to twau, and tw and sp would obliterate johnny. king crimson could never be touched, and cream is a void.
Here's an idea, have johnny shoot something, and then get okuyasu to wipe him. Then we will see if his ability erase space or move it to another dimension
I’d reckon The Hand would not affect the nails since they can bypass most of the high-tier stand effects, but it might delete the shot and not the distortion it creates, thus weakening the strike but not completely removing it
i loved the video, tusk is my favorite stand by far, a lot of people recently after jojolion put it behind "Go beyond" it's good to see a video where they talk about his real power, great video as always man.
I would say Tusk act 1 having inconsistent strength and Johnny not relying on it too much makes perfect sense. He shot a whole bunch of stuff during the race, each one was very different in hardness and such, you can't expect those nails to saw through metal the same way it does flesh. Also, his Spin at the time wasn't great, he was still just learning the ropes, so of course his nails would vary in strength! His spinning of them are still quite sub-par! In that sense, he was better off relying on other things other than Tusk and his sloppy spin to get through his fights as much as possible.
This was a super fun video!! I really enjoyed it and went back to watch some of the other terrifying stands videos too. The only thing I’d change is you mention that Tusk is the second most powerful stand (or something to that effect) and I ASSUMED it was to GER but it wasn’t outright stated anywhere. This ended up being mentioned in your power scaling video that I just finished, but it would be nice to mention it when brought up in individual videos so they stand as a more complete package That said, love the content man!
The way you emphasized Johnny being able to walk/run was pretty funny to me. I'm imagining one of those gifs with the character coming towards the screen from the horizon.
For the record I'm pretty sure the only reason Act 4's infinite rotation was able to track valentine across dimensions is because the spin affected D4C itself which is the part that's not expendable. Basically getting hit by the spin turned D4C into a game of hot potato. Now if valentine had a way to transfer all his ambitions, memories and whatever between his "clones" without passing on D4C itself then im sure he could escape the loop... but unfortunately then he wouldn't have a stand and wouldn't be able to travell back to fight Johnny. Wouldn't be able to develop another stand the same way because jesus' bones were only in that universe, etc. So the valentine free from the spin would basically just have knowledge of the "main" universe without any way of reaching it... kind of like emporio now if you ask me.
If you take the single attack theory from part 8, it's even more terrifying to think this stand went across generation of people through the use of fate and gravity, just to cure the joestar curse
In contrast to common knowledge, i believe tusk can surpass GER's return to zero. Requiem stands are not as overpowered as you may think. Silver chariot requiem seemed unbeatable, until the gang discovered its weakness. I believe that return to zero cant return infinity, since by the rules that silver chariot requiem stated first, requiem stands are not invincible just to fullfil the user's requiem.
I always thought the recent johnny was so inconsistent with Tusk was because he was inexperience with using stands and was a cripple putting him at a disadvantage.
gotta love how jojo is written in a way that being fast, strong and resilient or even smart, while advantageous, become unimportant and broken powers like stopping time or, I guess, being invincible, immortal and omnipotent can become useless as there are even more broken, better thought and ingenious reality bending mind boggling powers that can chew plot armor like soggy cereal and in some cases assuming we get to understand them to the fullest we might not have finished imagining how they can be used to take advantage of their different properties and keep escalating the power stairs, specially when some funky seemingly random combos get put together in one character and then, how they could affect said character or not and rules like things that would apply or not or can be done or not to something specifically or need some specific conditions that makes everything even more complex without getting to the point of being unnecessary

So basically, tusk act four is a walking (hehe walking) black hole? neat!
Yes imagine punched by an infinite amount of mass ,law of inertia applied and you cant go anywhere but spinned

Giorno get hits by the spin revert to 0 happens and right before Johnny gets the muda g.e.r
starts spinning; due to the nature of true infinity having no beginning or end once it exists it can't
be reverted even if the action itself is reverted to 0 the spin will continue. It's essentially an
unstopable force vs immovable object
Since GER is basically omnipresent I doubt Johnny would even get a chance to shoot Giorno it’s almost the same as WOU in a away but maybe even more broken, ANY action you do to hurt Giorno GER is there and you’re F**ked.
The only problem with your ideea is the fact that you're assuming Giorno gets hit by the spin in the first place, but GER starts reversing time before something even touches Giorno. That's why king crimson didn't rip out Giorno s heart, like in his prediction, GER stopped him before he even touched Giorno
@@robreja1377 It doesn't have to touch Giorno to start spinning infinitely.
@@robreja1377 but that’s the point, as soon as it is fired it will keep going until it hits its target and even after it hits its target infinitely. @@demontiming3234 and again my man speaking facts but I would like to see a fight like that.
The funny thing is, legit your dead either way, ANY OTHER STAND except D4C is getting washed

Johnny is so powerful, Araki crippled his power scaling by actually crippling him.

Tusk really shows Johnny's growth as a person. Badass.

gotta love how jojo is written in a way that being fast, strong and resilient or even smart, while advantageous, become unimportant and broken powers like stopping time or, I guess, being invincible, immortal and omnipotent can become useless as there are even more broken, better thought and ingenious reality bending mind boggling powers that can chew plot armor like soggy cereal and in some cases assuming we get to understand them to the fullest we might not have finished imagining how they can be used to take advantage of their different properties and keep escalating the power stairs, specially when some funky seemingly random combos get put together in one character and then, how they could affect said character or not and rules like things that would apply or not or can be done or not to something specifically or need some specific conditions that makes everything even more complex without getting to the point of being unnecessary
