I may have mis-spoke near the end of the video. It now appears Ubuntu 22.04 WILL include GNOME 42, however, not all of the updated / new apps.

Next step is an accent color that will change the color of folders and other accents.
Officially supported black and purple will by mine one day!

Absolutely! Ubuntu 22.04 is adding that feature; I can only wait for the day GNOME itself does.

What would the possible use case for a delayed screenshot be?

Personally, I use it if I have to open a menu that won’t stay open when I go to take a screenshot (like a contest menu that closes when somewhere else is clicked). Giving a couple seconds of delay gives time to re-open whatever menu I need the screenshot of.

Mayo, Gnome laying down the framework but developers have to support it some may or may not. I still prefer user theming as most or all apps are changed atleast the window is changed to fit that theme while Gnome to me does not follow the dark theme it feels like the colors are inverted almost white on black to black on white. I see this in the calander/alert drop down. Also, Wallpapers with light and dark are separated as in if you have some scrumptious custom wallpaper it would only be applied to light theme and once you switch to dark mode you will have that plain baguette of wallpaper(I personally do not like Fedora's wallpaper). So, there is a bit more steps to add your custom wallpaper around the board since you would have to apply it to both light and dark. Oh my, gotta get that extra .02 for those intense moments or stressful moments. Excuse me, At 5:50 you said Windows but you are using GNU/Linux-Fedora. Hm, Planet LInux has done a quick "rabbit fire" that was indeed some rabbit fire I barely saw the animations. I would say this video is a 5/5 would dunk cheese again. Signed by Human

You make some very good points. I love the *concepts* that GNOME is implementing, but it really does put a wrinkle in existing theming. I also love applying user themes and hope the GNOME team (or community if necessary) will find a way to make the two work nicely together.
Also, at 5:50, I was referring to the application “window”, not the Windows operating system. 🙂 unless you already knew that and I just totally took a joke too seriously?
      Thanks again for your thoughts!

I would love to see , you are doing a proper debloat on gnome 42. It's too heavy.

I could look into that. It is definitely on the heavy side of things.

In what way? I have a laptop from 2012 I use to run my home media server and while I could squeeze maximum performance using a headless server, I do just fine with fedora workstation on it. So it mostly sits in the corner running screensavers (my daughter loves xscreensaver) and Plex and I have zero issues with gnome 41.

GNOME does run surprisingly well on a lot of hardware. It just does happen to be one of the heavier desktop environments compared to others.
