You are right, she succeded in melting my heart, you are so lucky to be able to watch them every day but feeding them all must cost you a bundle considering the large variety of nuts, fruits and other goodies you provide. Thank you for sharing all this with us.
Thank you very much for your kind words ❤️ I'm indeed blessed to have these precious squirrels, it all started with throwing one almond to a squirrel passing by my window. 😊🐿️🪟
What a little beauty! You've taught me quite a bit with your vids as I've only been feeding my furry squad about 4 months now. I have named some and they come when I call them, they're amazing creatures 🤗
Oh yes! Here's what is very possible. If the baby is comfortable with you it's because her mom perhaps told her baby 'go there, the lady won't hurt you.' I think that's why she is comfortable with you.
Gotta be honest, you had me at: "it's Smoothie's baby girl" That habit of looking directly right the camera, is quite the spectacle... And yes, she is feisty as all get out !!! Keep em coming....
She’s a beautiful girl and her tail is gorgeous! How do you know she’s a female and not a male squirrel? When they come to visit at the window I can’t ever see the difference in the males vs females. ❤❤❤❤🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️
It's harder to tell when they are babies, but if you look carefully, you can see a little penis on the males, and if you don't see anything it's a female. On adult squirrels you can clearly see testicles between their back legs on males, and on females you can see nipples during pregnancy and nursing.
She melted mine as soon as I glimpsed at your thumbnail for her precious vid.. I love your water dish for the angels. Why don't you name her.. Lil Darlin lol
Aww. Very cute. It's that time of year they are venturing further away from the nests. I think I have 2 pregnant females now and 3 little ones already size of yours.
At about 12 weeks Moma usually lets the babies start to explore and do squirrely things. They are so fun to watch. I have 6 in my backyard now. They would sit on a tree limb and watch me feed their moms and now they will all come to me for a peanut treat. Two Nuts, the matriarch, showed me by her action that it is going to be a cold winter, so I'm gearing up to start production on some squirrel condos. You are quite right about the Blue Jays. When I am feeding the squirrels the Jays come around. I will yell "Bird" and they know I am getting ready to toss them some peanuts too and dive for them as soon as I do. They are the squirrel equivalent of NORAD.❤🐿
@@Squirrels_at_the_window Two Nuts has been my pal for 3 years now. She has taught me so much. I live in a house on a lot that was the site of a colonial home with 300 year old trees all about. There is a huge walnut tree with a hollow that was her house (she gave it to her 5 babies from Spring of 21). Last summer she moved to a pine tree next to the house where she can see in my window and had 2 more kittens. She is a very experienced builder and made a nice drey for her and the babies. Starting this past September, after having 2 more kittens, I would see her every day out gathering dry dead grass (insulation) or small pieces of pine (water proofing) and adding it to last year's drey. Every day for three weeks she was out there working, the outside of the drey getting bigger and bigger. Last winter was rather mild here. The way she worked to winterize tells me she thinks it will be a cold winter in NJ. I am concerned a winter Northeaster could take down her home so I'm building a condo that will go just below her drey on the same big branch. I hope she likes the condo and is wrong about the weather. 🥜🥜🐿🛖👷🏠☃
@@bobporch Thank you for sharing this information, I haven't been able to observe closely how they build their dreys, so this is very interesting. The best way to learn about them is to observe and interact with them. 😊🐿️ Thank you again for sharing this insightful information and I appreciate very much how thoughtfully you take care of those squirrels. ❤️
@@Squirrels_at_the_window I'm retired and enjoy my pals and chatting with other squirrel lovers. I like your videos. I am amazed how intelligent these little creatures are. Almost every day I will learn something new about them. Two Nuts has my timing down pat. In the morning when the kitchen light goes on she knows that in about 5 minute I will come out on the deck with my coffee and a bag of peanuts. She will be at the door waiting for me. She likes to sit on the deck railing next to me while I shell her breakfast. Hawks were a problem here, but I would do my wounded mother bear impersonation to drive them away. I rarely see them now. Even the babies at 12 -14 weeks know it is safe when I'm outside. Twice a day we have our peanut parties and if I go outside I have to have a pocket full of peanuts. 😊🐿🥜🥳

I can confirm my heart is melted completely ❤ …..she’s definitely filled to the fluffy brim with cuteness! ….I’ve fallen head over heels in love with her……but what’s her name? …..thank you so much for sharing, I always watch your videos with a huge smile on my face! X🇬🇧💕X
It's not silly, I talk a lot with them, but not when I'm filming. Actually I think they recognize my voice, when I go outside and I call their name, they stop and look at me. I think they get confused because they recognize my voice but they are used to hear it coming from the window. It's very funny and cute to see the confusion on their faces 😊🐿️
Yay! My squirrels always recognized my voice, but I called them all BUDDY because I couldn’t tell most of them apart unless they had unusual markings. Lol thanks for a reply.
I got a couple here right now. Both real close in size, but one is being bullied. Already lost a short bit of tail. Not sure what gender yet but they are cute.
How long have they been coming to your window? Iv been feeding them for over a year now and they all trust me and come running when they see me outside.
That's wonderful ❤️ They've been coming to my window for almost 4 years now. The first squirrel named Almond came up to my window the next day after I threw an almond to him while he was passing by my window. Here's a short video with him, if you would like to watch: th-cam.com/video/TFzG1DXdi2o/w-d-xo.html&feature=share&si=EMSIkaIECMiOmarE6JChQQ
Would you be willing to do an experiment on them? It could be challenging? I was going to see if they prefer roasted or raw peanuts. Both have to be in shell, shells about the same size (same weight if possible) and tested with as many squirrels as possible. Before I could, some neighbors ratted me out and the health dept. hit me with a desist notice. I hope you have fantastic neighbors!
I only feed them dry roasted unsalted peanuts because the raw ones can develop mold, so it can be unhealthy for the squirrels. I'm sorry about the situation with your neighbors. My neighbors are pretty good about the squirrels, but since it's an apartment complex many come and go, so you never know what kind of people may move in.
I would bend that front corner of the air conditioner back in place so none of them injure themselves on it when they get scared off by another. Anything can happen and usually will sooner or later it seems. Just looking out for your little ones is all, and i noticed that in this video. 🐿❤🐿❤🐿
They do look alike but the more time you spend with them, the more you're going to notice differences in their appearance and behavior. I made a video about how I tell my squirrels apart if you want to watch: th-cam.com/video/dRPqzajs7WE/w-d-xo.html&feature=share&si=EMSIkaIECMiOmarE6JChQQ
