Seems to me he suggest that 1-3k a year equals a similar amount of maintenance as 5k a year. So might as well drive it. I have a 6 year old Boxster that has cost me 15kAUD in maintenance for comparison (in 4 years at 3k miles a year) obviously cost less at the outset but it shows that old cars have modern maintenance costs… as an aside do you need to do anything next? Can you not be happy with it as it s?
done 43,000 miles in my golf r in 2 years and I have £60,000 in invoices for maintenance repairs and modifications so 25k in 5 years on a Ferrari don't seem that bad tbh
What are you gaining by having a challenge stradale over your 360? Are you going to be happier? Will it really make a difference day to day? Maybe live with a stradale first? Then decide if it’s really worth it? What you’ve done to this 360 has to be worth keeping. You know this car now. Think it’s a keeper? I’m 5 years along with my Arnage. Done similar maintenance. Will a twin turbo T be much better?
I sold my 2015 f-type r coupe I ordered new in my dream spec with ccb’s etc to order a 2022 f-pace svr in svo brg as I had a child - and tbh I don’t regret it at all. Only reason I kept the f-type so long is the engine. Now I get to enjoy that same engine but with added comfort and practicality of a sporty suv, and with an infotainment package vastly superior to even the patchwork system in current f-type….and now awaiting an allocation for a 992 gts manual pts coupe to enjoy with the little bloke
Really liked my facelift SVR and a bit of a bargain vs other choices imo. In the end I found it too wide for me down the lanes I drive plus the local driving mpg is pretty bad but on long runs was good so I let it go - never got used to either aspect. Still miss it and never missed a beat. Keep the 360 just shelve it for bit and the enthusiasm will return. I predict it will out stay the gt3.
Mate spotted a glorious 360 for sale and it's so tempting to swap the AM in & live the italian dream but it wouldn't be as dailyable and would stick out like a sore thumb. Also only got space for one car. Ah so so tempting though. I think you'll miss the 360 if you sell it. Nothing will have the same character, certainly nothing modern. The AM in 4 years has probably cost around 15k tbh with different bits of maintenance and annual servicing etc.
No, the simplest and best way to keep the receipts is to put them in a folder. Keep them well organised and it's always a good sign of a well cared for car.
If he was going to sell it, he missed the window. Six months ago everything peaked and now heading back to normal. That gated six speed would have been a great thing to sell before he did the restoration. Now he owns that cost and may as well drive it for a few years.
Hi just watched your latest video on the Ferrari that you’ve owned for while. Thanks for all what you do and bring content that I enjoy you. Bring it in. Can’t wait for your next video that you bring out and I can catch up on what you’ve done apart from that dish when I wish you your wife and little boy little dog a Merry Christmas and have lots of fun Christmas Day. Cheers buddy
I'm late to this video, but hopefully youve decided to move to an upgrade or fully different platform. This car is great, but time to try something else fulltime.
Great as ususal - thanks! However, what was the cost of replacing the PPF inc polish etc compared to a conventional repair for same damage (bearing in mind no PPF to pay for in first place £4k)?
£20.000 yes is hard to get the head around. Still you know and still love the car so why exchange it for something else?! The garage know the car inside and out also. It’s certainly in safe hands with them!!! An amazing car and a real head turner.
Please don't sell it! It's an amazing car! If you do decide to sell it, please get another Ferrari (may I suggest a 458 Italia 😁), this channel NEEDS a Ferrari on it.
Sam, your doubt of moving on (to a next model) is expected (as yourself did not image this when buying). After doing all the things/events (as you did in the last 5 years) and done many miles there is a time that you are starting to wonder what's next? I have had the same after driving a 328GTS for 80.000km's (in 6 years) and moved up into the F430 (spider/F1) which I own now for 10 years! Anyway it is you we are talking about and I have one very important message. I still regret selling my perfect 328! I had to decide selling it or keep it and due to lack of space (the trading-in price at that time was not as it is now) I decided to trade it in..... I hoped somebody would drive it as I did as it was a perfect example to drive. So my personal advice: keep the 360 if possible but also keep driving it as your mechanic explains in your video (11min) that garage Queens are most sold but not the best cars to drive. Your car was looked after by DK and they made your dream came trough. My 328 started also healthy into my ownership and kept 100% here in NL by same type of workshop (not dealer) . It sold within 3 days due to the condition and good maintenance after the trade-in (and is still at the same owner to this day). The milage was high (98.000km's) but due to good maintenance not a problem. This is what I see throughout the market, dealers/people are scared by high milage as in fact those cars are the best to buy (if you want to drive them). jm2c.
I'm impressed how well you look after that car. Its refreshing to see and certainly a peach for the next owner if there is one. But you have owned it for 1/4 of its life, why not carry that on
It is easy to make assumptions about cars. The 360 manual is one of the all time great drivers cars. On paper others may appear to have more but the 'event' of actually driving them is just not the same. I have spent time driving Ferrari models from this era. 360, 430, 575, 599, the F8 and Roma. The 360 manual just feels more alive and involving. The others are lovely impressive cars but the 360 manual is different, it feels special. If he sells it, its because of running out of new content to create. A business decision unfortunately.
You will regret selling it. Because there is no substitute or get a Challenge but still you'll miss it. Because you have experienced so much with it. Speaking out of experience.
It must be the best looked after 360 with that many miles, great job. About the costs, I am genuinely interested, was it 20K or 25K? And was that AV engineering only or including those buttons etc done by DK engineering and the completely new built up paint work? Also, I would think you get some discounts, fair play, but did you calculate what you paid or what it would be without discounts?
If you go by the numbers then over the 5 years its £20000 at AV engineering for the maintenance and servicing so breaking it down £20000 / 25000 miles is 0.80p a mile. Then they mentioned deprecation being an additional 0.60p per mile so that is 0.60 x 25000 miles so £15,000 so if you add that up it is £20000+£15000 = £35,000. It averages out at £7000 per year for the 5 years of ownership. The buttons, paint work and film is all additional costs on top of the above maintenance, servicing and deprecation.
@J Scott You are right exactly my thoughts, 35K money will just about outright buy a sporty hatchback these days. Although 25k miles worth of fuel in a 360 will be a few quid as well.
Like you Sam old chap I find the F Pace monster rather appealing. Unloved or not considered by many but it has a great deal going for it. A better choice of wheels and interior colours would be nice but worth considering.
It’s always cracks me up how TH-cam content creators create stories to tell how they have fun cars that the normal people will never have the chance to own with a nice rotation. Video goes to show why owning a 360 and keeping it mint condition is not financially smart, unless you’re very wealthy.
If you don't look back at your car, when you leave it parked up, it's become part of the norm of life. It's not a marriage, it's a bit of metal at the end of the day. I know I had multiple dream cars growing up, so I'd say get after fulfilling the dreams you had as a kid.
Why don't you just make the changes necessary to turn it into a challenge stradale? You can make a new series out of it and also get the car of your dreams. I'm no Ferrari expert so it may be easier said than done, but, I feel like it'll be interesting and may spark your love again for the car.
Happy for a CS upgrade until the shot at 10:43. Insane insane looking car. Best Modena out there. Although would be great to see a moon mileage CS! Cheers!

I have no idea what that Jag has to do with a Le Mans race car, apart form the name.
I was at Le Mans for the formation finish, they could really have gone a lot more bonkers on the colour scheme for the jag
Don't do it man. You'll always miss the clickity clack and that valve open scream.
he should get a Golf R
It's crazy when 5000 miles a year is considered a huge amount, and the amount of money you need to spend to keep it running at those "high" mileages.
Jag should've done the project 8 shades of purple and gold
Personally I think you should sell the 360. You've done a lot with it and something new would be exciting for you. Also it costs a lot to maintain
I predict it will out stay the gt3.
add on a grand for new ppf
Mate spotted a glorious 360 for sale and it's so tempting to swap the AM in & live the italian dream but it wouldn't be as dailyable and would stick out like a sore thumb. Also only got space for one car. Ah so so tempting though. I think you'll miss the 360 if you sell it. Nothing will have the same character, certainly nothing modern. The AM in 4 years has probably cost around 15k tbh with different bits of maintenance and annual servicing etc.
Yeh that definitely felt like a farewell video.
No, the simplest and best way to keep the receipts is to put them in a folder. Keep them well organised and it's always a good sign of a well cared for car.
That doesn’t bring in vital sponsorship money though does it?
Hey Sam. You still got the Rs6 around?
Great as ususal - thanks! However, what was the cost of replacing the PPF inc polish etc compared to a conventional repair for same damage (bearing in mind no PPF to pay for in first place £4k)?
Wonderful overview of true ownership, thanks for the honesty Sam.
Depreciation? Here in the US, these manny trans Ferraris are appreciating greatly!
£20.000 yes is hard to get the head around. Still you know and still love the car so why exchange it for something else?!
The garage know the car inside and out also. It’s certainly in safe hands with them!!! An amazing car and a real head turner.
Phew, I thought it was going the way of the 911T! Lots of adventures and then goodbye. BTW, love that SVR
And what about the synthetic fuel? What happened?
Nothing… as in the car ran perfectly. Didn’t affect anything. Aldous noticed no change. Nor did I. Will be doing more on this topic in the new year
@@seenthroughglass Oh I'm glad that everything went well.
Please don't sell it! It's an amazing car! If you do decide to sell it, please get another Ferrari (may I suggest a 458 Italia 😁), this channel NEEDS a Ferrari on it.
Hi Sam, it would be very interesting to see a back-to-back between your fully sorted manual 360 and the Emira...
i probably paid about 5k on a 10k bmw for precisely 5yr ownership and 30k miles driven. 25k on a Ferrari doesn't seem too bad.
This is what I see throughout the market, dealers/people are scared by high milage as in fact those cars are the best to buy (if you want to drive them). jm2c.
Glad to see the outcome, feared it might have been going to fund the fast VW Beetle :)
I'm impressed how well you look after that car. Its refreshing to see and certainly a peach for the next owner if there is one. But you have owned it for 1/4 of its life, why not carry that on
Just wiping away that 'damage' was so satisfying.
I thought I recognised the location at the start of this video! Kingston. As Tony said on BTG… you’re Surrey now 😂
It is easy to make assumptions about cars.
Great job by the ppf , how much did it cost to replace the ppf bits you took off ?
You will regret selling it. Because there is no substitute or get a Challenge but still you'll miss it. Because you have experienced so much with it. Speaking out of experience.
Sam, I'd be interested in your car if you want to find a new home for it. I used to have a modified 360 and have been Jonesin for another....
Int cars brilliant! They take you where you want to go.
(Little Fast Show reference there)
It must be the best looked after 360 with that many miles, great job.
That 360CS is a Stunner!!!🤍
Where is the RS6????
If you can smell the CS then go for it. It will be worth way more in the future. That would be a great car to keep indeed :)
The ONLY thing that should replace the 360 is a Challenge Stradale!
The question now is how much does it costs to replace PPF……
Why don't you just make the changes necessary to turn it into a challenge stradale? You can make a new series out of it and also get the car of your dreams. I'm no Ferrari expert so it may be easier said than done, but, I feel like it'll be interesting and may spark your love again for the car.
You might not be wrong!
Happy for a CS upgrade until the shot at 10:43. Insane insane looking car. Best Modena out there. Although would be great to see a moon mileage CS! Cheers!
Love the longer videos!
