  • Here are my thoughts on my Lotus Emira V6 after covering 2500 miles and visiting Milan Pagani, Ferrari and Firenze. On the way back to the UK we headed to a derestricted Autobahn, to see how the Emira behaved at 150mph+

      I think I'd take this over a 911. It's smaller, it's more interesting and it looks more special to me. It also seems to be less compromised as a sports car. I doubt I'd miss the extra 911 practicality, even the roof rack capability.

      That's right, the journalists are all top mates with the car manufacturers and shill out 5 star reviews for them whereas real people reviewing cars will tell you the truth.
      Journalists are just 3rd party marketing department. That's why they always give cars glowing reviews, then when they drive them a few years later as a used car or something they say how bad they are. Happens all the time.

      So true. Honestly, as a petrol-head from day one, I find automotive journalism to be a lot like political journalism... absolute rubbish, spoken by people who don't really have any idea what they're talking about, promoting someone else's product, repeating the same annoying, often times meaningless points made by someone else because they're incapable of producing their own thoughts. Harry is so different though, he LIVES with the cars, and gives honest, and fair reviews. He doesn't review a Fiat 500 and complain about its 0-60, or review an Ariel Atom and complain about luggage space... can't say the same about most other 'journalists'.
      Luckily, I think most manufacturers fully see this, I mean who else gets a limited-edition Bugatti Chiron to reviews for 1,000 miles lol
      Harry's the tip-top of this food chain as far as I'm concerned, no one else really comes close.

      with respect Owen - it's not that difficult with the plethora of info on YT these days - but Yes, I understand that having Harry's experience could be an appeal. The only time I took my ol' Porsche around Europe I would get to a hotel of an evening - then search out wiggly roads around the area. This resulted in some epic memories, very hot brakes and ridiculously low MPG figures!! I used the same principle when I took out a Alfa Stelvio demo. Swindon to Brecon night one, then £40 fuel in the first three hours on the next morning (and that was at 2019 prices) . Don't give your power away to others

    • @ChipCabot
      @ChipCabot 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CosmicSeeker69 With respect Graham - first hand knowledge of these roads is valuable as some of the "wiggly roads" are littered with potholes, bad tarmac, and other hazards that won't be shown on a map. The guy was simply asking Harry to share some insight, no need to act like first hand knowledge of public roads is some sort of superpower that makes you superior to others.

    Even with the wind noise, good engine and supercharger sounds in this video. I like how you can also see the mechanical action of the throttle linkage right behind the rear glass. It must feel very nice to have driven this brand-new car, gotten so much pleasure out of it, and at the end of the trip you don't have to return it to the manufacturer because it's all yours and not a press car like your usual videos. Harry, I hope that you will do another video on the Mille Miglia next summer, your video a few years back in the Alfa Spider was great. Thanks for this series of videos, well done! 👍

      @@mementomori29231 I'm loving it, I've got a lowered M4 also, on KW HAS suspension, and the Emira isn't as 'crashy' as that, the shocks are excellent. It's not incredible over the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, but on the twisty B roads it's brilliant and not too uncomfortable. As a 'daily' I'd pick tour of course.

    These are my favourite videos from Harry - love them! Regarding the Emira, fantastic value for money definitely but is it only me who wishes that there was a nicer tune from the 3.5l v6? They're not alone of course, the McLaren 570s with it's 3.8l v8 has the same 'problem'. Just for me, the sound of the car is a big part of the ownership experience. I have to admit though, the sound of the Emira sounds better from the outside than it seems to from inside the cab.
