A monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If they hit it, they can use their remaining shots on the 5" gong. The 10" gong is worth 10 points and goes down 1 point after every shot. The 5" gong is worth 20 points and goes down 2 points after every shot. Once both are hit, the challenge is complete and each unfired round is an additional point. It would be better if you had a spotters scope just behind the shooter and to the left of right of him, so that you can record what the projectile is doing, put this way i believe i would have a good go at it, if someone would lend a good F class match rifle ,as i have shot at 1,200 yards with very high winds and still get the v's and even score a 48/50 at those distances and thats with a 5.56mm x 51 ,sure custom loads, but its all about the weapon system, if its all been blueprinted and balanced etc, which none of the men or shooters mention if the weapons they are using are or not, just saying thats all. But then again i know a good weapon system cost around 10k or better still i wonder if someone will bring the new MK22 which is around 20K in AU dollars and depending on which caliber you ask for as its a MRAD system. cheers 👍🦘👌✌

@@APlife764 I know these are excuses at the end of the day, but I’ll try to explain my perspective lol. It’s hard to tell in the video but where we were shooting from was angled downhill. I normally see all my impacts at 600 on full magnification so I was really aggravated. I’m super disappointed I didn’t hit it but I know what was wrong and a simple flat rock fixed it right up lol The gun and ammo were definitely up to the task. All of the rounds that are bunched on top of each other in the video are from me holding same point of aim cus I couldn’t tell where my misses were to make adjustments. I saw rounds 4, 8, and 10 impact. I knew they were all right so I just added 1.5 MOA to my wind hold on round 10 and missed by almost exactly that much lol.

Michael is one of the few I see actually using the scope properly by adjusting during shooting. So many don't touch the scope even if the consistently miss to the same area. Guys, use the scope adjustment after consistent shots
I bought a 6.5CM Ruger Precision a couple years ago. Used, low round count - for less than $900. I added an Atlas bipod, mono-pod for the rear, and a Athlon Midas 5x-25x scope. It is a cheat code at 700 yards (longest range accessible to me.) This was also the first caliber I started reloading - and that was easy as well with a basic Hornady Lock & Load setup. When it cools off, I have scouted a few good spots where I can shoot 1000+ and I am excited to see how it does. The RPRs are fantastic rifles for the money.
make sure to barrel swap precision rifles every 2-4k rounds. And deep clean chamber and bore every 250-300. Then blow 10-15shots down the barrel post cleaning. Youll get accuracy you wouldn't believe. - Michael
Another fantastic episode! Gotta love that Texas wind. These are always so exciting from a physics perspective. very common in f class and BR shooting. if you like that you should look into drop port where the cases fall out the bottom into a can/rag so you only touch it one time. makes shooting strings really fast and easy.

I'm impressed with the grouping that the Ruger American was giving. That guy had the trigger control and consistency to hit that plate if he could see where his shots were going. Looked like he was having trouble without a spotter. That light gun and bipod was probably pretty unstable for spotting.
Kind of puts into perspective the long-range hunters who are claiming 1000 yard shots. I'm not making any judgements, but when we've now watched 17 of these episodes and only one or two have had first round hits. That's with heavy precision rigs, stable shooting position, known elevation change, perfectly known distance, high contrast targets, and all the time you want. All I can say is; if you're genuinely making hunting shots at, let's say, 800-1000+ yards (which a loooooooot of people claim to have done), then that is one heck of shot.
I agree man. Awesome rifle. I love the gun but just couldn’t stay in the scope with the downhill slope of the ground there and my bipod maxed out. The gun definitely wasnt the issue! After we got done filming I got a rock under my bipod where I had a better position behind the gun and started ringing the 10” pretty regular. I feel like I disappointed ruger American lovers everywhere in the video tho lol
Brother I have an idea to take this to a whole different level. It is the one part missing that would be easy to add. Well two things: 1.) heartbeat while each person is shooting on monitor and paired with the sound in the background. 2.) a separate mic for the wind or a gauge at the shooter and rid yourself of the wind on their current mic. Just some thoughts to keep more engagement because imo a live heartbeat as they are going through their cycles would be awesome. Lowest of all time type stuff, shooting between heartbeats, etc. could be interesting
Hey Brandon, love this series. Not sure if you have done it in the past. But you should do a video on how to start into long range shooting. I just built a bolt action inspired by your channel and would love more info for starting out and any tips or tricks. One day I would like this to be in this challenge. I use the GOL on bf4 hope to see u on there again, if u don't mind me asking whats ur bf name
@Damoclis oh man ur missing out the gol is the best 👌 👍 sniper rifle on there for sure the load times are insane and bullet speed i guess would be the same as the chaytec but the rifle is just better balanced and easier to get longer range kills. I always feel like I have the upper hand vs Chaytec snipers. Will need to help u get it unlocked 🔓 one of these days.
To Ethan, man you're close... You want to hold that rear bag with your left hand and give it a squeeze to hold your elevation solid, but let the bipod do its _own_ thing, otherwise the bag tends to sag under recoil. You were shooting right, probably zoomed way too close to see your own splash? Zoom out a bit so you have more field of view. As several sniper instructors have stated, extra magnification only magnifies your _own_ errors, so "less is more" accurate. That rifle's a shooter if you add those two shooting fundamentals!
Am I mistaken or did Tommy say he has his action set-up the way he does so he doesn't have to take his cheek off the buttstock but after every shot, he took his cheek off the buttstock?
He said it just made it easier to see ejection port without craning your neck if you were so inclined. He didn't say it wasn't permissible to move your head or cheek if you wanted to.
@TexasPlinking could you zoom out a "hair" (like maybe 1/3?) so we can all see the wind mirage a little better? A wind meter would be "the cat's meow" too if you have a Kestrel ETC you could put down horizontal to the 1k line in a 3rd view from a crappy old cell phone? (I know you probably have one in your desk! 😅) I know it's "one more cog" in the wheel, but a major production value! Awesome series man!
Well... i instantly knew that it would be a heck of a challenge for the first bergara guy. The carbon fibre barrels are fine for hunting, but not especially for target shooting at long distances. That was simply the wrong tool for the task.
@@brianvandeveer-eo4kw Man how are those? want to get the lpvo. Seen solid tho. I stick a lot to Vortex because of their incredible lifetime+ warranty. I can bang it up at comps going fast and if it ever breaks, get a replacement no issue.
@Damoclis They are made pretty rugged. A Navy seal designed them to last. Weight is about the same as Vortex and same kind of warranty. I have (2) EP5 and just got the lpvo. Really clear glass and wide field of view.
If it wasn't a 18 hour drive from SE Ohio to Round Rock, I'd love to give this a shot. We don't have the wind you guys have here though. But atleast I'm lucky to have a 1000yd range within 20minutes from the house.

GREAT CHALLENGE, LOVE THIS SERIES 😁 yep #2 very impressive 👏👏, They All did well , that's a long ways out 2/3 of a mile about ❤
The military special forces entered the chat to talk to 😂 the guy with the Ruger Precision Rifle
I wish they came to me lol. I loved this comp
@@Broke_Ballistics You're talented brother...Good luck and God bless 👍
It never ceases to amaze me, Dudes will spend 8k On a rifle, and then never put in the time to make handloads for it.
i see this a lot. and then they get mad that it barely shoots MOA. id rather hand load for a cheap rifle then use an expensive one with factory ammo.
@@McgSpook 100% Agree, as long as it's not some clapped out garbage wand.
My favourite sniping is BF4 lol. This dude is cool.
Thanks man!
Really perfect content.
first guy was my favorite. humbled
The Ruger American in 7mm PRC stacked the first 3 shots in what looks like under 1 MOA. For a $600 rifle, thats impressive.
Good job Michael!
Thank you!
@@Broke_Ballistics Representing for Montgomery county!
@@downthesight Haha! I’m still repping Katy. Just from Conroe currently.
Hey Brandon, love this series. Not sure if you have done it in the past. But you should do a video on how to start into long range shooting. I just built a bolt action inspired by your channel and would love more info for starting out and any tips or tricks. One day I would like this to be in this challenge. Thanks, keep up the great content.
Took em to school with the low dollar RPR… awesome!
Hell yeah bro, thank you!
10 times better Challenge than xrings one mile. Thanks for putting in the time to Host so many shoots with real Shooters!!! Watching guys with jerseys doing sponsor commercials gets old quick.
X-Ring is the truth. No one can match his swag!!!!!
@@dragline97 x-ring is one cool sum-bitch, if you don't believe me ask him. LoL He has some good stuff and I'm not the least bit jealous. I just think he's more cocky than confident.
Fantastic, always enjoy 😊thanks
Ive waited so patiently for this.
I've prob played with Michael on Golmud map as sniper for sure... lol but that game is so realistic on the sniping.
If you’ve played me then I’ve definitely c4 keeper you atleast 5 times
@Damoclis bro nice shooting, do u play on the map that has MikeVlad StrayRoundz and the golmud crew & I'm known as the Albanian RebeL on there lol. I also have a hex mosin ex sniper made before the war, I think I'd do ok once I get my hands on Lapua 54R ammo for this challenge. I use the GOL on bf4 hope to see u on there again, if u don't mind me asking whats ur bf name
@@redfirekla same as TH-cam for now lol. I use the cheytac. Dont have the gol yet lol
@@redfirekla hell yeah 😂
To Ethan, man you're close... You want to hold that rear bag with your left hand and give it a squeeze to hold your elevation solid, but let the bipod do its _own_ thing, otherwise the bag tends to sag under recoil. You were shooting right, probably zoomed way too close to see your own splash? Zoom out a bit so you have more field of view. As several sniper instructors have stated, extra magnification only magnifies your _own_ errors, so "less is more" accurate. That rifle's a shooter if you add those two shooting fundamentals!
9-hole reviews and Texas Plinking need a cross over - would love to see a mid range DMR challenge
Great stuff as always so cool to see.
Love these series
What a great series! Big fan from the uk. Wish I had a range like this near me!
Crazy guns but the guy had a decent rifle without busting the bank
Thanks bro! Love my boom sticks
The RPR guy and the Way point are getting it done .
RPR guy here, thank you!
@@Broke_Ballistics man the way you just enjoyed it made my day. Especially with an affordable setup… great job
@ thanks bro!
11:46 that’s MONEY DUDE
Thank you bro! Been practicing my shot lol
Shooter #3. Jeez! Changes posture, comes off the stock, grabs the bipod, lets it go, changes his mind.........
All great rifles. Thanks for this video
That Ruger American was shooting good….. just couldn’t spot his impacts & on/off the gun! Great episode!
As always, great video. Greetings from Bremen, Germany. 😃👍
Well... i instantly knew that it would be a heck of a challenge for the first bergara guy. The carbon fibre barrels are fine for hunting, but not especially for target shooting at long distances. That was simply the wrong tool for the task.
2nd guy was fresh off a night of battlefield😂 there was never a doubt
On top of that, I was working until 10pm the night before too. Got drunk and played bf4 before sleeping
@@Broke_Ballistics absolute legend. up there with mosin chad.
@@abones900 bro that’s an honor, seriously.
Tommy definitely had the cleanest setup
Love watching these. I'd like to get out there sometime and try it out. I have a Burris Eliminator Scope I'd love to see work for that distance.

“Budget friendly” talking about a 4k razor 6-36, there is levels to this shit😭😭

@Damoclis I threw the Arken EP5 on mine. I think it was $450 with promo code. Pretty good glass for the money also.
The guy with the 284 shot amazing groups defo good loads 👍
Love that second guy 😂

MAAAATTTT DAAAAAAAAAMONNNN
If it wasn't a 18 hour drive from SE Ohio to Round Rock, I'd love to give this a shot. We don't have the wind you guys have here though. But atleast I'm lucky to have a 1000yd range within 20minutes from the house.
I'm in the same boat. Think we can get Tom to set up a version of this and the Blackjack targets for us to try? At least we could pretend then.
@@outofsync6269 wouldn't be too hard for him to set up a blackjack rack on the front half at all.
