Or just have convicts with confirmed death sentences, dressed in all white clothing, tied to a tree or pole... then you could see the red blood splat real easy every hit. It would save the state and tax payers millions every year on medical, food and housing all of them living in prison and the processes of hanging, electric chair or injections. Plus being Televised, would put a big damper on major crimes like multiple offenses of murder, rape, child rape and porn, human trafficking, drug cartels and other major crimes around the country, maybe even the world. Ya know, bring back the firing squad, but make it a televised competition. The victims and their families deserve a good public show of JUSTICE ! Commentator needs to ...not comment. Don't know them, don't need to. The "technical" commentator sounds like he's never fired a round in his life, but he's watched, so that makes him an expert. Whether that's an accurate description of the guy is moot, that's how he comes across. Better to just shut up and let the shooter/spotter dialogue carry the day.

Frankly, I believe match grade 750 grain 50 BMG is the best for long range. That heavy ass bullet will fight the wind like a mofo and it keeps its velocity longer than pretty much anything. You'll hear arguments about things like 338 Lapua, 375 or 408 CheyTac and 416 Barrett, but the physics are on 50 BMG's side.

    • @sarahconner9433

Those bullets will completely turn a deer into hamburger even at 1 mile..I saw a 338 Lapua go thru a 8 inch concrete wall at almost a mile!!! Typically the 5 to 10000 foot pounds drops to 3000 foot pounds at 1 mile...3000 foot pounds is more than point blank 12 guage shotgun slug..

WPw all this hi end stuff and they still miss, wt hell, i was shooting 5.56mm or .223 rounds with i think burger 115 grain projectiles and at 1,200 yards and scored a 48 out of 50 and thats with f class boys and let me remind you the last time i even shot a weapon was 35+ years ago, when i was in the cadets which shot a L1A1 AU semi auto rifle and i don't have my gun licence at all, was invited to shoot at the F/class and Match rifle practice and thought i would be shooting older military weapon system, boy was i in shock when i seen the rifles they had all customized aluminum bodys and cost around 10 to 15K new for a 7.62mm X 51 or 308 chambered rifle and scope is normally a nightforce as well, but wait, this was around the start of 2019 and i just found out last month that i have a cataract on my right eye and yet the first time i picked up a rifle and shot a 48 out of 50 at 1,200 yards please the rifle is well made and the rounds are made perfectly for that distance have the scoped dialed in for that distance and the barrel and receiver all tuned in perfectly and your one a winner if you know the basics of marksmanship, which is like riding a bike and the size of the target was 16" X 12" and the bulls eye or V mark is only 65MM X 65MM, ( 3" inches SQ) so these guys are full of cash and cant even do a hold over based on the mirage via the scope?
Also the human body is 19" X 12" so that is what the target should be at all distances and if you can hit the head ,which is even less in size and also a moving target then your really good especially at those distances the projectile will take around 1 to 5 seconds to get there depending on the ballistics of the projectile and powder used. cheers :)

If the Earth were spinning East to West, all long-range shot competitions would only compete with ranges that are in a die Eastern direction, in order to standardize the adjustment needed for accurate competition. Thus uniformity for the ballistics corriolus effect adjustment.
The reason East would work the best is because one it's not a left right adjustment and two it's not a shot that goes shorter because the Earth is spinning away from the shooter but rather one that travels slightly further. In other words best case scenario.
