I absolutely love how honest you are in these videos, like in the start of part one of this video. It makes you seem super authentic and relatable and it makes getting on to the doctorate feel more achievable! Learning so much from your videos, please keep up the good work 😁😁

Ahhh! Thankkkkk you for your lovely comment. Honestly me five years ago would have tried to keep all that SHAMEFUL and EMBARRASSING (😁) rejection to myself but I'm trying to stop being such a baby about it. I'm so happy that the doctorate is feeling a little less like mount everest - truly appreciate the feedback!

I had a job interview once and had a prolonged coughing episode (this was pre-Covid). When I had finished I said "sorry, hairball" and didn't get the job. Perhaps I behave silly to soften the blow of impending rejection? Thank you for this video- very helpful as I'm applying on the cusp of the minimum criteria. I'm curious- did you feel that rejection was likely on your first go?

LOL "sorry hairball" - that sounds like something that would come out of my mouth 😂 Well I for one think it's a crying shame that there isn't more silliness in psychology, think we could all do with it. GREAT question - I always consider the worst case scenario but I am such a die hard optimist/dreamer that I kind of think things will work out lol... so as much as logically I knew rejection was likely, in my heart I had definitely got my hopes up.

This is exactly how I feel right now haha. Doing an MSc but haven't secured a place for placement or experience yet, which means that I MUST be a failure in life lol

Hahah YEP sounds exactly like me. Let's ignore the fact that you've scored an MSc and are upgrading your life and focus on the negatives riiiighhhhttt 😂😂😂?
