I like your ideas
I wanna do this with an egg carton
I say, even this was too soon but the release date
Can I get a pumpkin pie with the first order from Factor?
Just a heads-up: Factor has been really , really sketchy for me. One week nothing arrived, two weeks have been late. This is out of six weeks. I'd hate to see poorly performing sponsors to reflect poorly on you.
“Inspired by recent news events” hahaha legend
Too bad he didn't have this idea by himself 6 - 12 month earlier to tell them what's going to happen.. 😅
Oh now I get it
I wouldn't say legend, I'm not here for pc content but they were real people. It's a bit disrespectful
POV Titan submarine
Still a better sub than the Titan
"shouldve wrapped it in carbon fiber" had me dying lmao
Yea same 💀🤣
@@PerigrineAerialNW I honestly feel like it is. People are hating on the people who died because they were rich, but they still died and left families behind....
@CharlieTheNerd91 There’s no such thing as “too soon.” Don’t live up to your username 😉 have a sense of humor
@@CharlieTheNerd91 It's nothing about how rich they are, it's about the fact that the thing was unsafe, everyone knew it, no one tested it properly, and they still went with it.
wah wah cry some more
“Wow that’s so distasteful”
“Let’s pressure test it”
I mean honestly it was a bit.
@CharlieTheNerd91 abit hilarious?
@@mark675 No, distastefull and disrespectful. Any loss of human life is sad, he is only making fun of the dead because they were rich, which in itself is....
@@CharlieTheNerd91 'because they were rich' thats all inside your head buddy
@@DKTAz00 It really is not, look it up, many psychologists commented on the phenomena, as there was an overwhelming amount of positive reactions and reactions like "they deserved it" or things like this clip mocking it, when it was announced they were dead. So next time maybe don't comment if you don't know the actual context.
More deep water content, please haha. Time to build your own "RC" Sub. I'd imagine you could make it autonomous, like you have done to everything else so far
Underwater autonomous navigation (following a preset route of waypoints) would be super interesting for sure!
also uses game controller to drive
He's tried beforehand, RC subs are hard
ArduSub does exist! if still a bit young.
He already has an ROV. He’s used it in a few videos already.
We used to send styrofoam cups down on the ROV cage to 7,000’ in the Gulf of Mexico. Then put the smaller cups that came up on display back in the rig galley.
I remember seeing a video as a kid where they drew all over a styrofoam wig stand (shaped like a human head) and attached it to the outside of a DSV. When it returned, it was tiny and all the writing had become much darker.
man I remember that as well @@pseudotasuki
if you ever go out there again bring one of those Styrofoam airplanes
like the ones that are like 4 pieces
the main body + both wings and i guess you will have to make a smaller rear horizontal stabilizer
because that one isn't Styrofoam like the rest of the plane
might look a bit weird after that but should shrink with pressure
would love to see both what it looks like and see if it still flies?
I don't know if I could handle being in a boat in water that deep.
@@PsRohrbaughit's all the same ontop
As a scuba diver I can say the water in the lake is surprisingly clear.
As a skydiver I can say the sky is surprisingly clear
as the earth i can say your both right
As a sailer i can say the boat is surprisingly floaty
@John-nd7il as an engineer, I agree.
As an @sshole I can say nobody cares
I reckon you put more pressure tests into the pumpkin than that "recent new event" ever did
Well not really, they tested it, however, they also did not listen to the material experts who told them that the composite material would degrade after repeated exposure to these pressures...
The main thing was that they never destructively tested the sub, so they didn’t know what their actual margin of safety was
Just when I feel like I’ve watched everything there is to watch my guy comes in clutch with a new video. 🙏
Fr it is like a reward
Yeah, already watched all the Formula 1 USGP content from this weekend, nice to see a new drop from RCTF
"we should've wrapped it in carbon fibre"
💀
That line got me good 😅
Yoooo now I understand the underlying joke 🤣
I thought the joke was the effort to waterproof a pumpkin
That pumpkin gate submarine is hilarious 😂
Truly a man of science, but now pumpkin buoyancy poses a new question, how many pumpkins would it take to make a pontoon boat with pumpkin pontoons?
scientists should answer the REAL questions. WHO CARES ABOUT THE BIG BANG AND PHYSICS NEED PUMPKIN PONTOON BOAT😂😂😂
Thumbs up for the sick knot skills alone
Will you be posting a halloween video?
I was like pumpkins exploding at depth?
Oh, ok.
Yeah not too soon just about right timing! 😂
I think you would get more dramatic effects from this if you used way more weights so its sent down deep fast before the air has a chance to get out so you get a nice cavitation
glad to be here for this historical moment
5:34 -- Freeze frame. "Silence is golden, but Duct Tape is Silver" springs immediately to mind.
Suggestion: before sinking the pumpkin, put it in the freezer to make it very brittle❄️🧊
“This Just In: OceanGate Begins Testing Pumpkin-Based Submersible Hull; Expert Promises It Won’t ‘Fail Catastrophically’” 🌊🎃
You should make an all terrain Pumpkin
Yes ! Awesome video, you need to build your own submersible next ! Also try a one of the ceramic pumpkins from hobby lobby ! 😊
Halfway thru I'm now very curious how this would fare when covered in a full layer of clear epoxy lol
Evan and Katelyn collab
Not sure if you're kidding or not but here are my two cents: Not any better. Epoxy by itself doesn't have much strength and is fairly brittle. It would crack as soon as the pumpkin deformed just a bit. In a composite part, the fibers are where the strentgh come from.
@@AntiVaganza true, I was thinking that if the layer was thick enough it would be able to extend how long it takes for cavitation to start, thus hopefully a better implosion when it reaches terminal failure at a deeper pressure. The fiber does give strength, but for a thick enough layer of just epoxy that's been cured enough i'd kind of expect an extended time before a crack and then hopefully a shatter due to the then pressure difference. Might be fun to test next year myself once I've moved up near puget sound
If they filled it with epoxy on the other hand... it'd take a few hundred bar until the actual flesh of the pumpkin started desintegrating
This is the most random idea and I love it
You should've wrapped it in carbon fiber
2:14 You said the same thing 😂
You beat me to it lol
im loving your investment into deep sea filming. I would love to see you build a drop shot rig off by having the weights hang a good 10ft below the camera rig so you are above the silt cloud when it hits the bottom. it would be interesting to just see random deep locations you might find something interesting considering 99% of the water deeper than 200ft is unexplored
deep sea... i wonder if he could get a shot of some bioluminecent fish, deffinitely not a an angler fish but you probably get what im saying. that would be cool, just prob some technical stuff, like it not getting chrushed like a soda can.
"oh my god, that is so distasteful." You made me spit up my drink when you said that! haha
"Let's pressure test it!"
I appreciate your Titanic effort!
He should named the pumpkin Jack
Looks cold but then I see the blue toenails and now I'm just confused.
Obtain a KB4-NS/3, use it to cut the top off an ostridge egg (good omelette), re-glue the top of the egg back, and test it against pressure. I'd use an epoxy glue, try to glue it as neatly as possible, any excess might just as well cause you issues.
You can also try to pierce the top with a small drill after you've shaken the egg like you're trying to shake someone back into their senses, and eject the contents through that hole, after you've made a small needle hole to blow the guts the other way around. Then you can just use drops of glue to seal the egg shell back, tho that might be a bit difficult. I know it's possible, but i've never managed to get it all out (shaking the egg vigorously breaks up the content. I know some people have it down pat and they use that technique to save time on mixing the egg.
i tried looking this up earlier but could not see any results
eggs are both known to be structurally strong and somewhat permeable
the membrane inside the egg has a tiny air pocket
surrounded by fluid ie: egg yolk
the structural stability is compromised when the egg is opened
so the test would have to include undamaged eggs
i wanted to see the effects of high ocean pressure on a egg
because all i could find were the calculations determining how much it would take before going crack
and not a actual video showing the descent until it cracks
"good omelette". Got me xD
The end is even funnier when you remember they’re testing it in the same place the other one was made and tested
Based on these experiments, they should be making deep submersibles out of pumpkins.
Like, sure, it will fill with water, but hey, at least the sub remains largely intact!
More deep water content! What if you epoxied the entire thing? How far can you push a deep water submersible?
14:48 “I had no idea you were chill like that” 😂😂 lmaoo dude
Wow it's almost like pumpkins were not designed to be pressure vessels or something 🤔
That's the fun of it
The fact that you can hate on 2 guys having fun with pumpkins near Halloween is insane
Nah it's fine. Trust me bro, just pay me 70,000$ and I'll show you ;)
Actually you're wrong, Daniel J Pumpkin (the inventor of the pumpkin) specifically designed them to withstand at least 3 bar of pressure in order to assist the allies with the war effort. I hope that helped 🙂
@@MKZ3003Who is hating, I think he is piling on to the OceanGate submersible hate.
ohh no who could possibly have made that submarine?
Great vidio, I respect the effort you always put in
Hi I’m Lydia from Neil Armstrong academy, if you have seen someone else that is from Neil Armstrong academy then they are probably talking about the same thing. Our school is on a mission to get a lego figure from one side of the great salt lake to the other. What we need help with is to help us figure out how to make the boat be able to navigate( mostly) by itself, if you can help us, again we’re Neal Armstrong academy.
GOOd JOB LYDIA ITS ME RUTH HEHEHE
" that pumpkin got compromised" is the good stuff ... im glad i found this art
Dude I freaking love your videos! I'm from the Puget Sound area and would love the chance to meet up one day! Keep doing anything brother and thanks for the quality content

@@Rahvantelia bot maybe? Strange
Thanks
@@PrizzProductions1 I just paste the transcript into GPT4 and ask it to make a bullet list before I watch.
"fugia sound" lol
If you want one that's going to hold then get a nice round casper pumpkin with no flower/stem indentation. They use this variety for pumpkin chunkin because they are dense and strong enough to withstand the hundreds of g's to which they're subjected.
Watching these type of your videos makes me feel like I'm one of the boys there in the moment messing around with niche science
Inspired by recent events got me 😂😂
14:47 they knew what they're doing 💀
I think it would be cool if you made different submarine designs and pressure tested them.
Dont ever give into those "safety protocol talking head bureaucrats" be innovative and make your own science!
I would suggest using a power drill to reel in the items from the lake
Incoming 3D printed ratcheting drill driven reel.
Or knowing him just rig a big dc motor for a home made winch. Considering his channel is all about motorizing stuff, I'm surprised he was doing that manually.
And for years afterwards pumpkins grew at the shores of Puget Sound.
It would be cool to see some more deep water stuff
You should have lowered the pumpkingate with a logitech game controller! lol
Dude when you were pulling up that rope from 600ft I was yelling in my head, "set up a haul!" And then you did, excellent thinking!
How did you film under water. i know it was some camras on the "pumpking" rig but the side view
Cool science experiment! Next year you should hollow out a pumpkin, stuff it with electronics, attach wings and make a pumpkin plane!
Whales being directly underneath you would absolutely terrify me. No way in heck I’m ever getting in a boat with you if that even has a chance of happening
They are in a lake...
Wales dont attack humans or boats. They are like big cows. They just hang out and don't give a shit.
Always fun seeing your videos. Just 2 things, if you use the winch for anything in the future maybe attach an electric winch to the wheel. Secondly when taking out a small open top boat out that far please wear a PFD
Well said. Somebody that clearly understands that its unsafe to force feed safe practice.
I thought for sure your were going to engineer a DIY crab-trap puller for hauling in all that line. Wow, must have been a workout.
Yeah haha. I was hoping for some crazy over engineered servo setup. The spit they made to roast that whole pig comes to mind lol
aka a drill? a crank? ANYTHING?
Oceanogate catching rctestflight banter. love it.
"wow there is a whale !" If only you had something to film it underwater ! 😂
I’m surprised you didn’t make an electric wench with gears to real in your line. Excellent presentation!
3:20 yessss the Costco cookie variety pack goes hard
Sketchy science experiments are the absolute best kind!
You busted out the trusty ol' third hand to pull that strand! Brilliant
What underwater cases did you use for the gopros? They had to withstand a bit of pressure.
And you should build a gopro case that can take it 600 feet down. XD
Awesome video, thanks for posting. Happy halloween!
So much for my pumpkin dive helmet design. Back to the drawing board.
This is the exact sort of questions I have when I am stoned. Nice work dude!
10/10 for the ending lol. Great video overall
What brand of light are you using? It is very bright at the bottom
i´m not ok with crushing glass in water :( how do you want to get the small shards out the water? :(
Hey Rc test flight remember the wooden plane video? Well i made a paperplane that flies so even it even has a aliron
you should put the Go-Pro in a jar to watch the implosion
Came for pumpkin carnage, wasn't disappointed
Yes! More underwater stuff, always fun to see this kinda stuff
you can use an ascender OR just grab the line and turn your hand perpendicular to the line, essentially making a handle
plus its faster
Some under water footage of the glass breaking would be interesting. Good Halloween vid 👍
Absolutely fantastic science. The world would be deprived without you.
What water drone do you use
As a cashier at a grocery store, I LOVE the idea of imploding a pumpkin! Selling 20 lb pumpkins looses it's appeal when I have to pick up the 3+ pumpkin to weigh it!
14:55 "it's kinda cute tho" 💀
"That is so distasteful!" LOL
I’m surprised you didn’t add in a little firecracker underwater finale, since you did go there lol
Whats it like luving in WA state ? Im from georgia and wanna move there.
Ive heard all sorts of things about it and even visited breifly in 2016 (seattle) and saw the good and the bad.
I wonder if that pumpkin titan can actually make it down to Titanic XD
Down?
Yes!
Up?
Nah
15:10 Looks like you guys solved the problem! Use pumpkins for your front dome.
Deepwater stuff is VERY spoopy
Too soon?😁😎🥰
Awesome work guys!
thanks man, happy halloween
Thought you would've had a motorised spool winder! 😜
Ye I was amazed. Him of all people doing this manually. No homemade winch? Tsk tsk tsk
That crack looks like , a well never mind..😅
Flex seal the entire pumpkin and try again!
You're a genius mate 😂😂😂
Were they still at lake Washington later in the video at the 750ft point? Wiki says Lake Washington is only approx 200ft deep.
I woulda painted on a few layers of Epoxy Resin to fully seal the pumpkin up, thus stopping minor cracks appearing, so hopefully at deeper depths, it would have gone POP and catastrophically failed... 🤔😏
😎🇬🇧
I wonder what the glass sounded like when it imploded
Here I'm thinking this is too similar to Titan incident😬. Then time stamp 14:40 says "hold my beer"😂
i started building a rc plane while watching these videos and i just finished while watching this
was it actualy a wale under you guys?
Bro the miny titan sub; 😂
“Oh that is so distasteful”
“Maybe we should pressure Test it”
4:55 what kind of whale was that? Kind of looks like an orca that was checking out what you were doing.
Edit: after watching you struggle to pull that line up from deeper, I realized that you should build some sort of electric windless into your boat for dealing with anchor cables and such.
I don't think it was a whale
He told you what kind of whale it was. He said its a halloween whale.
We've watched pumpkins fall from the sky, now they must dive beneath
Is that the unlimited range boat? got a center console now? no panels?
this vid triggers my thalassaphobia but is so entertaining to watch
