The thrasher is a 1000x more interesting than the drowned. Been too long since a unique hostile mob has been added. This mod is great because it adds a lot of depth to vanilla features
We get one every once in awhile. We got the illusioner in 1.12… We got the ravager in 1.14… And we got the warden in 1.19. Damn we really need more interesting hostile mobs that aren’t reskinned zombies lmao
The glow inc sac reviving dead corral made me reinforce the fact that Mojang is just simply not doing enough. These are simple game design elements that should be part of the basic game and are easy to implement. You don't always need to add brand new mobs to add a lot to the game.
Yep! Preach to the choir.. The glow ink sac itself was always unnecessary to begin with. They could have just used glowstone dust for signs and item frames and not put an option in the mobvote as a joke that's not intended to be voted for. They keep having pretty good ideas for features and then add them in the most surface level and basic way without exploring the possibilities and the features then become useless. For example, If they want to add a new ore just for decoration? Fine to me, but coppers blockset only has 3 choices (ignoring rust slabs and stairs) and irons blockset has like ten. Its boring. It doesn't have many uses. The rust isn't that impressive. Iron generates uncommonly because its meant to be used in tools and armor. Why is it more fit for building than copper? Also, for a game about mining, theres very few metals in the game and most of them you can't build with because they're so rare. (Or at least, not without cheating with a mob farm) the game desperately needed more easy metal building blocks, (especially the redstone community) and this wasn't it.
alot of major mods people want mojang to make often don't get made if it doesn't work on the latest microsoft watch edition. Jokes aside, yeah, small details like that are definitely possible and are an oversight

I mean, there's nothing wrong with the idea as a mechanic, but it's not in any way intuitive or obvious, so Mojang not having added this very bizarre and idiosyncratic feature can hardly be classified as an "oversight".

Man this looks so good! I wish this was official. It feels so unique but still retain the vanilla feel to it without making the content feel overabundant with rules that don't line up with vanilla. Good job to the modders!
I think the Lionfish especially would be a really cool addition, it’d also go with Mojang’s new goals for helping with environment issues and awareness of invasive and endangered species.
This is one of the most well fleshed out mods I've seen in a hot minute that actually retains the vanilla feel of the game. I'm quite excited to see (along with literally everything else here) more variety of fish in cold and regular ocean biomes!

Mojang adds less content because they do so carefully. Making tridents and nautilus shells rare was done on purpose. This mod makes nautilus shells much more common, and allows for crafting tridents- which is not really necessary
@@lithosphereX you’re right, Mojang has a very strict design philosophy that was made by Jeb. And some elements here goes against that. They don’t want tridents to be crafted nor nautilus shells to be easily obtained. Not only that but they want doors, trapdoors to be wood only, which the thrasher teeth also break. However most of the mod is very vanilla.

Another idea for an aquatic update addition; Shipwreck graveyards! It acts like a safe haven and home of the drowned, I know! Really dark lore to the drowned. Shipwreck graveyards act similar to ancient city’s so if you might want to bring proper armor and items. And instead of breathing potions, how about diving helmets (kinda like MCSM season 2) to add a crafting recipe for copper because copper as of right now is ultimately useless (except for maybe buildings)
It'll be a very nice thing if they added a depth mechanism Like the deeper you go,the darker it gets and in caves and aquifers too It'll be a game changing addition and will make underwater exploration more exciting
I would love to see a mob like the thrasher in vanilla Minecraft! The oceans are pretty lacking, and while I don’t think everything in this mod would fit into vanilla, I think the aquatic mobs showcased at the beginning would be great additions.
Amazing to see all these mods nowadays with really well thought through mechanics, interactions and interconnections. When I used to play mods on version 1.7.10, I always felt most mods add content just for content's sake, without really adding anything of interest. But today? Wow, the Minecraft modding community surely has come a long way! I recently started playing Minecraft mods again on 1.19.2 and I gotta say, I'm not looking back! :D

All of the mods from Abnormal Team have such high quality to them and I'm so glad these mods aren't being left behind! Edit: Also, good video man! @@V972 fabric only exists as a middle finger to forge anyway, and quilt only exists because of how toxic the fabric people were. The main thing seems to be that 1.19.3 made some kind of breaking change compared to 1.19.2
In case someone doesn't know, some time's trought out the video the trasher looks bald and sometimes has Shining things in his back and fins. That's not because they're variants, that's cause of them Shaders, some Shaders are incompatible with the trashers Shining scales.

This might be a Mod to keep track of It's Development, especially when it takes the Actual Behavior of the Animals like the Lionfish into account. Yes, The Lionfish is actually a Predatory Fish and it will poison you if you come into contact with it's Spines. I wonder if Barracuda's, Dusky Sharks or Nurse Sharks will be added to the Mod?
What I find so truly wonderful about mods (especially the oceany ones I've I've looking at) is that unlike new mojang additions everything is interconnected, interlocked. It all comes together to create functions that we'd want, or just things that are interesting, a new wood type that is actually interesting, a new stone block that is also Coral? like buncha cool shit
killing sharks in terraria doesn't give me the bloodlust irl to go and hunt sharks, neither should minecraft. mojang should revisit paat content updates and add more to them
There are some really neat concepts here. The trident recipe imo especially manages to fit in really naturally without seeming too overpowered. I also really like that the mod follows Mojang's design philosophy on hostile mobs (i.e. that fully hostile mobs should only be fantasy creatures).
In the mod they are marked as unobtainable. Personally, even after about one million attempts, I was not able to get them with the help of a wandering trader, so they are basically unreachable for a player in survival mode, even if they can be obtained by this method. (Maybe they can be obtained in an older version)
@@NoxusMods oh, that's odd. Maybe it was a tweak to the modpack im playing; Crucial 2. I've gotten the kelp from wandering traders several times while playing it.
Minecraft is so easy to implement amazing ideas to, and honestly I think the oceans have been needing to be reworked. I do love the most latest updates but it's been adding things that should've been there to begin with. All I hope is that they aren't too prideful or take shame in using the ideas of content creators, literally I don't think anyone would object to seeing something that the community would most likely support.

It seems like the thrasher is this mod’s repayment for sharks.

10:30 the kelp variants aren't unobtainable. You can get them through the wandering trader and nowhere else
