A lot of the names for the mobs come from German and Latin. Is the developer from a German-speaking country, or is it due to the scientific nature of the mod? Since Latin and German are considered languages of science.
@@Daralexen The latin aspect came from it because names in Latin are always 100 times cooler than the same in English (hehe), and the German came around because the Amphibiotic Water Calamity, the Gazenbrecher, means "Tide-Breaker" in German (actually Gezeitenbrecher is tidebreaker in german, Harbinger misspelled it and decided he liked how the misspelled name sounded verbally better...) and so I've kinda stuck to that theme and used German for translating a lot of stuff, first thing being the aforementioned Umarmer, which snowballed into what we have now.
I built a base in an underwater canyon. I had been growing food and bamboo under there with a cobble gen that fed some ore processing for guns and i could only make it so far. It seems that the curseforge version of this is edited from default damage types for mobs like the gazenbreacher in the config though adding things like wither etc.
3 Infection mods that I know of as of now. Scape & Run Parasite's Fungle Infection:Spore Sculk Horde I kinda wanna see a proper zombie infection mod now!
My buddy put this mod on the server and an addon for it that made it even crazier, we had to reset the world and remove the addon because it was basically like The Flood at that point. We did add a few meme mods, one being the Travis Scott mod (drops a Travis Scott burger when killed), and it's broken. He's extremely tough (takes 5 headshots from the TACZ mode gauss gun), moves around at like 3x my sprint speed, and ccan rapidly spam attacks that do a ton of damage. Why is this broken and awful-to-fight-against hostile meme mob relevant? Well those stats make him a pretty good matchup against the spore parasites. A single Travis Scott can take out dozens of common infected (humans, villagers, etc) and if they kill him: he doesn't come back as an Infected Travis Scott. While they are a pain and have to be handled at a distance, they're the perfect natural predator of the Spore enemies. Side note, due to TNT (ignited) being an entity, it can technically be "killed" like any other mob. Idk how it works, but I was in creative testing minecraft TNT and several other modded explosives (Mekanism, the Nuke mod, etc) and decided to detonate one next to a group of infected humans. They immediately turned to start attacking the TNT and I saw it turn sideways like Minecraft mobs/players do upon death. They *KILLED* the TNT once it was lit.
ForgeLabs has already joined the FI:S discord server and has made it known that he is planning on doing some 100 Fungal Infection: Spore playthrough but we haven't heard anything for months, so we're just patiently waiting
Really cool showcase! Great designs and interesting mechanics. May I recommend not listing off base stats (health, damage, etc) and possible drops for every single mob? It got a bit repetitive over time. Players could look at a wiki for this info instead. edit: or read the stats displayed on screen instead of also reading it aloud
I use this mod to convert blocks into other blocks. I want the game world to look as though it's rotting away. I convert blocks to those that can fall like gravel or sand, which can further influence blocks where they fall or if they close enough.
What I'm hearing from all of this is: *_"This mod essentially turns Minecraft into Dead Space!"_* EDIT: I also love the Dead Space Necromorph-based name choices the mod author came up with! I can tell that a lot of thought and love clearly was put into this.
There's some possible meanings of names of Spore mobs. So let's talk about what names mean or translated from. Calamities have names based on German stuff. "Sieger" means "Winner" in German, and "Siege" has letter "r" added to it. The word "Siege" means "Belagerung", but "Sieger" is opposite. "GazenBreacher" is probably a misspelling of German word "Gezeitenbrecher". The name was created when the_harbinger69 misspelt "Gezeitenbrecher" as "Gazenbreacher". However, "Gezitenbrecher" translates to "Tide-Breaker" in German. "Hindenburg" is named after a biggest airship in the world "LZ 129 Hindenburg". Its bombing attacks were inspired by LZ 129 Hindenburg catching on fire and spontanously combusting, but the Nuke attack doesn't, since the Hindenburg is a commercial passenger-carrying rigid airship built by Germany. Both of Organoids Umarmer and Braurei translate to "Hugger" and "Brewery". The reason why Umarmers have this name is because they use trapping abilities to take down enemies, leaving them for other Infected to attack. The reason why Braureis have this name is because they're cauldron-like Organoids with Infected Witches glued together cooking potions in order to buff their allies.
Can you limit the infection to a certain amount? I want to add it to a server modpack I'm putting together but don't want it to completely overtake the world
Me and the homies seeing the "Prepare..." message for the 18th time in the playthrough (we have no idea where the protohivemind is, are only armed with JEG scrap shotguns, and have had to deal with nothing but Gazenbrechers and the occasional Hindenburg)

Braurei sadly reminds me of a certain piece of cursed Sonic fan-art involving Sonic and Shadow fused together to as a toilet with Sonics mouth as the toilet bowl. More reasons for me to be disguised by it.
@@Tek34 I saw it in an article titled "Worst Sonic Fanart on the Internet" over a decade ago along with similar Sonic toilet fetish artwork. As for Sonic and his unhinged fanart, it is probably due to these people growing up with Sonic as kids and using him as a sexual outlet in adulthood due to nostalgia.
I do like the infection, but as of yet in my personal world. I have yet to even see the Hyper Evolved, a majority of the Evolved, and even the infection spreading in general. I've only ever seen a brute, and the occasional volatile. Both of which die with considerable ease. I'm not sure how the infection is supposed to spread, or how fast it's supposed to be. But it sure is taking its' sweet time. It's been about a week now, or 252 minecraft days with no harder creatures.
One of the devs behind the mod here, For the infection to start spreading in the world, an infected needs to fail its evolution, becoming a scamper. After about 10 minutes the scamper will pop leaving mounds behind starting the infection. Look out for messages in chat like 'prepare' or 'endure' as they will tell you how far along the infection is. The infection can be prevented by being good at minecraft and killing the infected before they evolve properly. Thanks for playing the mod.

Feels like if I’m playing this mod I’m going to jump into a lake and get dragged down into it by a random tentacle then told the severity of the situation and that there’s still time to stop the key from turning, but first it must be found.
So, that's just Parasites without annoying resistance.
And better armor. And more weapons. And unique monster designs
@@nicholasjonas2505 yeah, I haven't noticed any of these. Maybe should pay more attention.
As someone who enjoyed SRP, this mod looks AMAZING! I like the brutal stakes of SRP, but this feels actually playable, lol.
I love the creativity of all the biome plants and trees and stuff over Minecraft "infection" mods like this. It's so cool
I think this mod is really great and it immediately reminded me of the film No Sika and the Valley of the Wind. And I would think it would be great if the developer of this mod stole a few ideas from the film, such as the biome. The proto hive mind can create a large cube made of biomass. I think it would be a great opportunity if these enormous coral mushrooms or whatever they're called from the film could also grow in the infected biomes. That would open up so many new design possibilities and it could give the hive mind even more opportunities to create traps and other obstacles for the player.
The mob design in this mod are so damn cool!!
“Mycelium infection” is Minecraft lore accurate SRP
Would it be possible that you check out Snowy Sniffer mod? It's a rather small mod, yet full of simple charm.
Now THIS:
This is a horror mod I can get behind!
Feels like we've got a lot of these kinda mods lately. Parasite happened and now we got like 8 different flavors of it.
you know what would make this mod balanced enough to be able to enjoy it? guns.
somebody gotta get on it.

... why did this make me want to make a Prototype Modpack? (Prototype as in the game series)
YOOOO, [PROTOTYPE] RECOGNITION!?
@@TheNarwhal784 Prototype 2 was a good game, idg why more people didn't play it
@@shade7014 Just because Alex wasn't the protagonist probably, don't get me wrong, I like Alex more too, but James isn't like a bad protagonist or anything, and while I do prefer the first game over the second, the second is absolutely still a blast to play.
I need another PROTOTYPE, sadly, it'll probably never happen.
4:25 that evolved infected zombie is REALLY freaky...
I love this mod! Its like Scape and Run, but more balanced, XD! I do wish animals and more mobs could get infected though, even if they couldn't evolve. Maybe in the future.
This mod gives off the vibes that Dying Light, Left 4 Dead, and The Last of Us were all sources of inspiration, and I love it.
Also halo and deadspace for the more twisted parts
@@harbinger9824 the Halo is definitely visible with the whole assimilate the local animals and entities as well as the hiveminds being pools of biomass by lower forms. 10/10 looking mod
Can't wait to install this, the sculk infection, and parasite, and other mods that adds in infection like these.
Some of the creatures have Zerg inspirations for their designs. Cool mod!
Finally! Some real challenge for me and my automatic shotgun!
Yes, installing a gun mod makes the gameplay of this mod so much fun. It’s like the Last of Us as he mentioned but in reality cuz spores and guns
Ah yes, another mod of horrors beyond my comprehension, just what i needed
Cant wait forge labs to play this mod
These mobs look awesome.
Bro I Love your videos😀
This mod has grown up so fast and it's beautiful.
Damn they got so much resident evil references in that mod! Kudos to the developpers frr
That is so disgusting. I love it!
Review Withering Away: Reborn, and Mutagenesis pls
Hello, ive been watching you since you hqd 20k subs and you helped me a lot to choose mods into my game, you choose good mods and i use them, i once posted a comment that i believe you'll once be a big youtuber cause u put a lot of effort in ur videos and not too much subscribers, i looked later on your channel when u had 40k and i thought your channel pretty grew i looked later also but it was still fourty K now i look and u have 90k wow congratulations
Run and escape parasite : finally, a worthy opponent
Amazing vid this mod is very well made
Love these infection mods 😊
20:48 unwavering nature curse should be an automatic debuf on mycelium weapons because they are good but would make other weapons obsolete. This way instead of replacing the in-game weapons it reserves the mycelium weapons as a really effective and self sustaining way to kill spore creatures. This would also make sense because killing vanilla mobs with the spore made weapons would transfer the infections.
Umarmer is german and means hugger
hehe yep, we named it because of its squeeze ability, and I thought the name was cool and also funny
@@pilotmoo2449are you the mod creator?
@@Atomic_Pinneaple he is my modeler
We need to see a world with these guys and the parasite mod, and speed up time and just let them brawl for like, a year and see what happens
Parasite would win because of the unbalanced nature of the mod
6:52 turn on subtitles
Corrosive sex
As a circle of the spores druid enjoyer I approve of this mod
Don’t turn on subtitles here 6:53
these mods inspired me into making my own infection datapack
I built a base in an underwater canyon. I had been growing food and bamboo under there with a cobble gen that fed some ore processing for guns and i could only make it so far. It seems that the curseforge version of this is edited from default damage types for mobs like the gazenbreacher in the config though adding things like wither etc.
I love how the wandering trader can use invisibility potions to fight just like how they do it when a zombie is nearby in vanilla
Cordyceps in Minecraft before GTA 6 💀💀

3 Infection mods that I know of as of now.
Scape & Run Parasite's
Fungle Infection:Spore
Sculk Horde
I kinda wanna see a proper zombie infection mod now!
Another level of apocalypse survival game,we should tag Forgelab
ForgeLabs has already joined the FI:S discord server and has made it known that he is planning on doing some 100 Fungal Infection: Spore playthrough but we haven't heard anything for months, so we're just patiently waiting
Really cool showcase! Great designs and interesting mechanics.
May I recommend not listing off base stats (health, damage, etc) and possible drops for every single mob? It got a bit repetitive over time. Players could look at a wiki for this info instead.
edit: or read the stats displayed on screen instead of also reading it aloud
There is no wiki for this yet unfortunately
@@Bahhumbug2016 I guess the mod documentation might have it?
If anyone else is wondering, make a CDU & fill it with ice canisters to get rid of it in the newest versions.

Just watched Forge Lag’s video of surviving 100 days in a Hardcore world with this mod 🔥🔥🔥 It was glorious
I use this mod to convert blocks into other blocks. I want the game world to look as though it's rotting away. I convert blocks to those that can fall like gravel or sand, which can further influence blocks where they fall or if they close enough.
"the hidenburg"
*1000 year stare*
Good thing it's missing the symbology
I used this mod on my modpack, tell ya at the first few days everything was fine but a few more days later it was hell.
I need a list of all “world corruption” type mods like this and parasite
What I'm hearing from all of this is:
*_"This mod essentially turns Minecraft into Dead Space!"_*
EDIT: I also love the Dead Space Necromorph-based name choices the mod author came up with!
I want to add it to a server modpack I'm putting together but don't want it to completely overtake the world
this seems cool af :O
Darn man this really is advanced for a mod it's barely minecraft, in a good way
Epic fight with this would be so fun
Nice guide. This mod looks like Scape and Run: Parasitise
Me and the homies seeing the "Prepare..." message for the 18th time in the playthrough (we have no idea where the protohivemind is, are only armed with JEG scrap shotguns, and have had to deal with nothing but Gazenbrechers and the occasional Hindenburg)
Mods like this should add a way settlements can defend themselves
how do you _fully_ clear an infection? i spammed CDUs in creative with blue ice in them but the spores or whatever in the air wont go away
they dissapear after 1 or 2 minutes
2:02 Infecteds attempt to group up into hordes with a system called "partnership system"
I would love to play this with the creat'a colony pack from sbeev. Auto cannons and turrets defending a minecolony of wave after wave of these mobs? God that would just be fun
lava and flint and steel: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
Braurei sadly reminds me of a certain piece of cursed Sonic fan-art involving Sonic and Shadow fused together to as a toilet with Sonics mouth as the toilet bowl. More reasons for me to be disguised by it.
WHY do you know that exist, WHY did they make it, and WHAT the hell is wrong with the sonic community and weird ass art.

I hope them spawning normally is a toggleable thing. I'd love if it only spread from outbreak sites in my world, gotta check it out
18:30 ngl the living armor look like the armored Titan or a Volatiles from dying light
I know right?
I do like the infection, but as of yet in my personal world. I have yet to even see the Hyper Evolved, a majority of the Evolved, and even the infection spreading in general.
I've only ever seen a brute, and the occasional volatile. Both of which die with considerable ease. I'm not sure how the infection is supposed to spread, or how fast it's supposed to be. But it sure is taking its' sweet time. It's been about a week now, or 252 minecraft days with no harder creatures.
One of the devs behind the mod here,
For the infection to start spreading in the world, an infected needs to fail its evolution, becoming a scamper.
Is there a config thing or anything where we can force start it at last levels of evolution?@@ThatGardener_
@@ThatGardener_Thats a cool system
