This is a 1800 Watt Induction heater that I bought from ebay at 40 Euro, I avoided the cheapest seller for the simple reason that they all have bad reviews, so be sure to check that out before just buying the cheapest.

What switch did you use to turn the induction heater on? Is it a circuit breaker?

Its a 80A DC contactor/relay from telecommunication power supplies.

What is the purpose of this machine? Do you plan do do more with it than just experiment?

You are right that my first intentions was to explore the rigidness and value of a 40$ 2kW induction heater. But applications could be fitting of bearings, fitting of tight tolerance metal parts, pre-heaitng before soldering, rust removal, loosing up bolts and nuts that are stuck/rusted. Melting marshmellows. Hardening of metals. Plenty of applications :) You could even use it to pre-heat before using a furnace.

@@KaizerPowerElectronicsDk you could even upgrade.it a little , for melting purposes ,whit the adequate termal enclosure .. but in the end i dont know if its worth it .the power source i like the most in your design
