Safety was not his number one priority
I'm scared to cook bacon in shorts and this man is out here in shorts with molten lithium
he has his safety glasses on, so its probably going to be fine
Well its second, the primary is FUN :D!!!!
I know right, he put his face near that thing way too much, aside from the general lack of precaution in everything he did in this video.
Playing with molten metal, wears shorts
“Let’s blow up a watermelon!”
*commits felony*
😳😳
It’s funny because it might be enough to actually arrest him. Since using it for this purpose might count as a redesign.
@@joshuaspath6923 I'm curious now. Is putting tape on a bullet a felony ? If not, what is the felony he did ? (I'm not an US resident, i'm not to familiar with some of the felony you might have)
SentaFreud it’s used to muffle or silence a round so the government could say he made a homemade silencer and arrest him. However i am not a lawyer so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Unless it is in a chamber I don't think it would be illigal. Not legal advice but I dont think blowing up a cartridge with duct tape on it would sent you to prison
I was more concerned about him being hit with brass shrapnel from the case, as the tape would let it build up slightly more pressure. The bullet is too heavy to go anywhere ouside a chamber.
As a heat treater we used induction heaters for some operations. You had to watch how close your face was to the coil because you could feel the fillings in your teeth start to get a little warm.
That is really cool
I just love the fact that he plays around with molten metal in shorts
That what's actually worry me he may hurt himself XD
Even pants cant protect you from lava so nothing much can protect i mean hed hav to wear reslly hard armour to not burn but metal is a conductor so he wont be safe jn any way other than radiation protection so rather shorts if nothing is safe

Molten lithium is one thing I have not seen before. I recently read a lengthy paper about battery recycling. The most common method for lithium batteries is to literally just light them on fire. It's kind of ridiculous, they don't even bother to recover the lithium, just the more expensive elements like cobalt. I wonder if there's something an induction heater might have to offer to more easily extract lithium from batteries before they go wholesale into the furnace.
I remember i used to have some sort of battery charger when i was 6, not mine but it was my dad's and he used it alot. But for some reason it broke or something and stopped working.

Moorgoth67 Glass wouldn't react at all, and the cap came off so fast no heat would have been transferred. It would be fine
The gold ring heats up faster because it is actually less conductive than silver, turning more induced current into heat. It's more thermally conductive too, but tarnishes fast.
There’s a guy at my shop that has a handheld induction heater, called Bolt Buster or something like that. It’s not as powerful as Backyard Scientist’s but he does use it to pop open glass bottles of pop. Personally I want to try that with a Guinness or a Nitrogenated beverage and see how far the bottlecap goes.

I have a video idea but it’s kinda random.
Could u get a fully pressurized aluminum scuba tank and put some gallium on it and wait till failure? Bonus points if you catch the failure in slowmo.
Edit
Maybe rough up the bottom of the tank and put it in a small pool of liquid gallium heated with a candle or something. You might get a rocket.
Consider keeping a rifle near by so you can easily end the test if you need to
Agree
This is an amazing idea.
Realy hope to see this in a video or even on a small scale with those co2 tanked like the tiny ones
That would be very very dangerous. A fully pressurized scuba tank would explode like a bomb. Certainly he couldn't do that in his backyard

DUDE, THATS THE COOLEST BEER OPENER EVER!!!
I just hope it works fast enough not to warm up the drink too much 😂
Just don't drink off it straightaway, or see you in the hospital with your lips attached to it 😂😂😂
It only warms up the metal, which expands and therefore loses grip on the glass.
The carbonation pressure does the rest!
The glass is a bad thermal conductor, so the liquid itself won't heat at all. However, it might crack the glass due to thermal stress.
It heats up the cap which in turn heats up the air between the cap and the beverage. Hot air expands and pops off the cap. Nothing to do with carbonation.
