Since my comments were wiped out because of the glitch, I will suggest Christian Slater as Shipwreck. His characterization in the cartoon was iconic as the 1980s version of Jack Nicholson in The Last Detail. (Well, a G-rated version, anyway!) And what Gen-X actor sounds like Nicholson? Christian Slater. And he still looks good for his age, even if he is in his fifties now.
Kurt Russell as Hawk (Hells Yes!), Idris Elba as Stalker (Oh yeah), Mike Colter as Roadblock (Spot on), Sam Elliot as Wild Bill (Of Course), Snow Job (You had me at Bill Burr), Tom Hardy as Destro (Any excuse to him the movie but yes he could be Destro: good choice), Good call on Flint (don't know the actor well but I like him as Flint), Hailee Atwell would be good for Lady Jaye but I'd consider Emily Blunt, and Shipwreck well I agree; difficult choice but I think I'd go with Diego Luna. Whoever I didn't mention I don't disagree with I just don't really know the actor per se. For Me Cobra Commander could easily be Bradley Cooper. He could easily do a great voice (Rocket Raccoon) and he is good actor. Cool Video
Yeah, Diego Luna could be good for Shipwreck because it would keep him Latin. He'd have to act smarmy though. Emily Blunt is a great pick for Lady Jaye
Sharlto Copley is actually South African, not a New Zealander, BUT I’ve heard him do all sorts of accents, so he’s a great fit. There might need to be a bit of time travel to make a lot of these actors work age-wise, but the VIBE of every single one of them is spot on, man. Fantastic video! I’m subscribing! 👏👏👏

For me, rule number 1 is that it needs to look like GI Joe. I want some of the awesome vehicles that that recognizable as GI Joe and Cobra, including the HISS tank ( that actually looks like a HiSS tank), the Wolverine tank, the motorcycle with machine gun sidecar, the Claw, the Trouble Bubbles, and the Mauler. I want the Dreadnocks in it and I want them to have some Road Warrior looking monster vehicles. And I want the characters to look like they are from GI Joe and Cobra and not some Michael Bay movie where every character except Snake-Eyes wears the same tactical battle armor. Use the current Classified figures as a guide. They updated the figures but kept them true in spirit to the originals.
Considering how much showtime Shipwreck gets in the cartoon, I'd suggest Ryan Reynolds. With a beard and a parrot, he'd work as a smart ass ladies man.
Loved all your choices! I think Ray Parks was perfect as Snake-Eyes! He is known for not speaking in his roles, or showing his actual face for that matter.
For starters, a live action G.I. Joe should be a TV show. Plus the character's back stories should be based off the 80's Marvel Comics- but set in modern times.
Yes. A TV show is the way to go. Also agree on using the comics but updating. Have Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Stalker meet in Iraq or Afghanistan instead of Nam
Matthew Lillard could cameo as Chuckles. :D And maybe Mark Dacascos as maybe Hard Master, or Soft Master. I thought that Ray Park did a good job as Snake- Eyes. :D
Dirk Benedict as General Flagg Nicolas Cage as Cobra Commander Shamus (from wwe) as Destro Pink as Zarana Micheal Bein as Duke Vin Diesel as Clutch Daisy Ridley as Lady Jaye Roman Reigns (WWE) as Zartan Dave Batista as Roadpig Drake as Alpine Christopher Judge as Roadblock Victoria Pratt as the Baroness Ryan Reynolds as Shipwreck I have others ,but some of them have died, just too young or retired.

@@Chris-dz3rs There's a big tradition of having wrestlers in minor roles. Terry Funk in Roadhouse, Sabretooth on X-Men was a wrestler. GI joe would be a perfect place to get some wrestlers in
Wow great video and some of the post on here are amazing ideas. For the plot line and so forth I like the idea someone posted about keeping it in the 80s timeline would rock. I think it would be cool to go with an opening kind of like pacific rim where it shows the rise of Cobra and how our current military was out gunned out teched and the need for a highly trained special mission force was created and as someone posted showing the selection process this would hold true to real history as how was the Army Ranger and Green Berets were formed during war time. Also please please keep the uniforms and costumes comic and cartoon series correct instead of making us guess on who is what especially on the cobra side I always thought they had the better basic soldier costumes
I'm actually working on my own script right now...Here's a few characters I'll share... Duke - Alan Ritchson Cobra Commander - Tom Hiddleston Destro - Richard Madden Roadblock - Yayha Abdul Mateen II Gung Ho - Jason Momoa General Hawk - Jon Hamm Flint - Glen Powell Zartan - Bill Skarsgard Baroness - Megan Fox Scarlett - Kat Mcnamara Snake Eyes - Scott Adkins Lady Jaye - Ruby Rose Dr. Mindbender - Rami Malek Major Bludd - Daniel Bruhl Storm Shadow - Mike Moh Alpine - Aldis Hodge Bazooka - Jeffrey Dean Morgan Tomax/Xamot - Kris Van Damme Beach Beachhead - Jensen Ackles
Tunnel Rat was also a Medic so his character knowing Martial arts would not be unbelievable. Team him with Shooter. So long as she keeps Politics out of her character by making her the kind of "all business" sort of soldier. Tunnel Rat was a capable guy. Sniper with his LMG, Medic, and Demo who would be an ideal pairing for her. He was also a bit of a smart-mouth too so he would have had some MA skills. Say Jujitsu and some sort of Universal system like MMA or Krav.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal was thinking more in story Miltary politcs. I do agree GI Joe is such a basic story it has no place for Woke as other movies or TV shows. I like you I hope it never happens. just give me my Dreadnoks, CC threatening the world with some nukes and some sweet Hand to hand combat with some gun play. LOL!
So is this the more serious GI Joe where they kill characters or the tongue in cheeks humor that could get serious at times? ARAH was a very different thing from say GI Joe Resolute. Since you chose Russell as Hawk, then you can actually do a flashback to the original Joe team using his son.
I'd like some killing, but I'd keep it somewhat light. Maybe Indiana Jones tone? But you can argue for a slightly more violent r-rated version. I wouldn't go as far as Resolute. Keep to the comic book (original run)
I absolutely love your channel. I definitely think Kiefer Sutherland could play a role, and James Woods as Destro, or even CoCo. Sharlto was amazing as Murdock.
Just discovered your channel and have immediately subbed. Great topic and while I won't comment on all your picks, a few thoughts: Kurt Russel would be great as Hawk, and John Hamm seems perfect for Flint. It's interesting that you picked Joel Kinnaman as Duke (another good pick), because, on a Joe-related note, I was watching Silent Night a few days ago and thought he might make a good unmasked Snake Eyes. Sam Elliott would be an excellent Wild Bill, since we're overlooking age, time, etc. For years my pick for Wild Bill has been Allan Jackson. I don't know if he can act, but he certainly has that country singer vibe that relates to Bill's file card. Famke Janssen as your Baroness pick is a revelation to me and so obvious (in a good way); not sure how I didn't consider her previously. Again, if we're ignoring time and space, a young Sean Connery has to be Destro. Even Hama himself imagined the gunrunner with Connery's voice. I'm right there with you on Andrew Koji for Storm Shadow. He stole the "Snake Eyes" movie. Samara Weaving works for Scarlett, but as you noted for Adrianne Palicki being a bit young, that may be true for Weaving too. Lately, I've been a big fan of Rebecca Ferguson as Scarlett. She has the action film and acting skills, and just a bit more age. My last pick -- not one in your first movie cast -- and my personal *must* is for Firefly: Vincent Cassel. Plays a great mysterious villain, has the physicality to portray a dangerous character, even a martial artist, if you want to go with Hama's later Marvel run plotline. That's actually what made him my first Joe fantasy cast well over a decade ago. His origin revealed that he is the son of a plantation owner in French Indochina (i.e. Vietnam), so it just came together perfectly, IMO, to have a French actor play the iconic saboteur. Apologies for the long-winded post, but it's always fun to nerd out on "grown-up" Joe topics, so thank you for yet another quality outlet to do so!
Oh yes! Back in time, Sean Connery would be the number one all-time pick for Destro. That is great. And a country singer for Wild Bill would be good. I always pictured him a little older than others, so Alan Jackson is probably up there. Some of these country singers end up being really good actors too.
Yeah, If you go by the actual rank, then it gets weird, with a lot of random Joes ranking really high. Flint technically outranks Duke, because he is a Warrant officer (not my assessment, I read that somewhere) I am suggesting that Stalker's rank would have changed throughout the years and he'd be higher. I don't know how accurate this is, but it gets really weird: www.halfbattle.com/listrank.html
Great video. Good choices. Choices i had in mind For Duke, would be Chris Evans and/or Sam Witmer. I think Sam Witmer would be good as Flint aswell while Lauren Cohen or Halle Berry as Lady Jaye? Jon Hamm id choose as Flagg. Alice Braga/Shooter, Terry Crews/Roadblock, Michael Rooker/ Gung-Ho maybe. Doc/Samuel L. Jackson, Vin Diesel/Destro, & if ya'll seen the 80's BMX movie Rad, Chad & Carey W. Hayes would've been absolutely perfect as the Crimson Twins.
Honestly, I think the reason a great G.I. Joe movie has been done is because it would just be to bloated to get everything everyone would want. I believe it would be a better live action TV series instead. They could knock it out of the park with a live action TV series.
Beach Head is one of my favorites, wonder who could play him, And i enjoyed Serpentor over Cobra Commander as leader. And his origin is easy to do in a film/s to take over as new threat for the joes. Cobra Commander's snake-like voice never bothered me honestly. JGL didnt do it well so i wouldnt bother doing that kind of voice. That's my opinion. No-one can play Sgt. Slaughter than Sgt. Slaughter, lol sadly. That would be like having that guy playing Mr.T's character in The A-Team movie. It's not gonna work for long time fans.
I agree with most of your casting choices. Joel Kinneman would be great. What I'd really like to see them do with G.I.Joe (which I don't believe would ever happen) would be for them to strike a deal with Disney/ Marvel to adapt some of the Marvel comics story lines. I'd like the tone to be very similar to that of the first three phases of the MCU too. Riding that line between sci-fi and straight-up action movies. I agree, we don't need fantastical elements. What do you think of someone like Chris Pine as Shipwreck?
Yes, they should just stick with the Marvel storyline and only deviate slightly. Like maybe change Stalker, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow to Iraq war vets rather than Vietnam. Chris Pine could work. I want somebody who can be smarmy.
I'm not against the idea of live a action Joe movie/s or series. I just feel live action takes too much dedication to this scope of production several live action series like all those cop ones(NRD CP or what have you) or like the Netflix Defenders run. A cartoon series done in the Resolute style would work too fewer problems to just get voice talent for a dark gritty cartoon.
Honestly it would have to be a series like at 5 seasons 12 episodes to get the full jest of characters coming and going … it just way to many characters from both sides to be in a movie .. unless set it up like MCU movies
Yeah, A Band of Brothers style mini-series would be good. I was imagining most of the characters would be in the background, showing up for a scene here or there.
Awesome video! A slightly younger Tom Cruise (with a beard) would make a solid Shipwreck. I actually think the General Hawk from the movies worked well… Harrison Ford could be a good alternative. Jenner Lawrence could be either Covergirl or Scarlet. I think Jonathan Majors could actually be a solid Destro. I believe Baroness is from Austria btw.
Like the choice of Mike Colter for Roadblock. If Beachhead is in it, I think Alan Ritchson from Reacher. Big, does fight scenes well, has that no nonsense tone down. Also like the Spirit choice.
Listening to you talk about how lack luster G.I. Joe movies have been is so relatable. I made a Dreadnoks series concept. Love for you to take a look. Although it's a bit different approach to yours. More the MCU style. Start more microscopically then world build out.
Turning GI Joe into a power series, live action, would be a massive under taking. The tone would have to be perfect. All the character's primary & secondary military specialties would have to be showcased during an impactful scene, maybe not always for their introduction. There's already a multitude of races in GI Joe. There's no need for race swapping. Each aspect of their character are part of them. Where they're from, the way they talk & behave, their miltitary branch & history. It needs to reflect the gile cards. The team dynamic is also extremely important. Each team member to jump start the brand, needs a pivotal role to play. I've heard the debate from other Joe channels with dream casting & storyline / plot. Some do feel it should be set in the 80's. Also, that it should star the OG13. Having never read the comics, Idk much about those guys, except for the ones primarily featured in the Sunbow series. Of course, you have your heavy hitters, like Hawk, Snake-Eyes & Scarlet, then Rock&Roll, Stalker & and Breaker. I think Short-fuse, Grunt & Steeler had one appearance in the series. The rest idk at all. My first Joe figure was actually Zap. I was so excited, I tore opened the blister pack as soon as I got in the car & the accessories flew everywhere! Lol The only thing I know about him, is that he's Latino & he's the rpg guy. Problem with me is, I haven't kept up with Hollywood these days. I recently watched a few episodes of that Jack Ryan series & thought it was great. I enjoyed Reacher, too. I don't remember any actor's names, though. For Baroness, when I hear Eastern European, I automatically think Russian, Ukrainian & the Cheque Rebublic, or their immediate surrounding neighbors. A lot of the actors I can think of, are too old now. I'm out of the loop. I do agree that Samara Weaving was perfect for Scarlet!! Also, do you want blonde Hawk or brunette Hawk? Edris would be great as Stalker too. Would General Colton be featured as the first model of what the team embodies? Perhaps he hand-picks Abernathy to lead the Joes? What about Admiral Keel-Haul? If he makes an appearance, technically he's the highest ranking Joe. ( Rear admiral ) Will he now take orders from Hawk, who is only a Brigadier General? Even Flint, who is a Warrant Officer, out ranks Duke, who's a First Sgt. Whatever they do, it needs to be done right. Hasbro should not have so much control, they've screwed it up in the past, every single time! Lol Perhaps, it's Paramount's fault too. They both have had terrible collaborations.
If the movie is gonna serve as crossover with Transformers later, id prefer the new films be closer to the 1980's An American Hero animated Series. I grew up with that show, loving it and tried collecting toyline stuff. Till this day, that show has best toyline than any show besides Star Wars. Im sold if the live action movies are close to that animated series.
I prefer the comic but I would definitely keep some things from the cartoon: The characterization of Alpine, Bazooka, Quick Kick, Shipwreck, Roadblock, Spirit and others
Ship Wreck? Maybe Pedro Pascal if he can do comedy? But really Hasbro doing a good job after the 80s, early 90s…. Lmao 😂 it needs to be smaller Team, like maybe The Expendables tone…for an older tone. I think you’re spot on for a lot of points 🎉
A few minor additions for characters to tie the storylines together: Dial Tone (who will be with Flint’s team) Mainframe and Firewall back at Joe HQ providing tech support. They maybe have five minutes of screen time combined. And one more character for the Arashikage storyline: Lana Condor as Jinx. 😁
how sci fi would you go? If Hawk came in late would you put him in the jet pack. Russel as Hawk is perfect. Not a huge fan of Stalker but making him a little older as Elba works great. Duke was such a focus in the cartoon and first movie, its a hard choice. Do you continue with him or piss off anyone casual fan who only knew the cartoon? Kinneman is an ok choice altho, I don't like him as an actor that much. Roadblock definitely a great choice, haven't seen that show to know the actor you picked. Once again with Gung Ho, not a huge fan of the character. Wouldn't even include him. Spirit great character and actor. Wild Bill would be a minor character? Or would he get more screen time? I don't like Airborne either, would skip that character. Was a one trick pony in the cartoon with his psychic stuff. Shooter is a great choice, very similar to the sniper is Predators, would give that vibe. Gotta have Tunnel Rat, good pick. A cameo scene scene where they jump around the globe, but don't say who the characters are would be a great setup for future movies. A fun idea would be to have the different Cobra Sub groups not part of Cobra yet. The Twins, and Destro are separate entities that Commander is trying to bring in. I would show them all as little as possible. There was no mystery in the first movie, because you saw what they were doing the whole time. I'd bring in Zartan but not have him accept Co Co's invitation. I always wanted the guy that played Kano in the Mortal Kombat movie to play Ripper, but he's too old now. I just saw a current pic of Femke, and she got real old. Definitely not the looker she used to be. Tom Hardy likes to do weird stuff with his voice in movies. I'd like to be able to understand Destro. Great pick though, but would probably take the entire budget. Idris Elba would also make a great Destro. I don't think you would even know who was under the CoCo hood. People are gonna hate it, but I think the Classified Shipwreck looks a bit like Bradly Cooper. Perfect choice for Flint. I would not use Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Thats been done to death. They are soldiers, would you kill them off? it should really be a Game of Thrones type series, not movies.
Agreed it should be a Game of Thrones type series. There should definitely be deaths. I would keep the level of Sci-fi very low. Only do what something like the most recent Mission Impossible did--had an AI that is beyond what we have, but is believable that it will happen in a few years. A lot of the sci-fi elements of the toys are very close to happening or happening -- Like cloning, DNA, Serpentor is a stretch, but believable. I'd have BATS and a BRAIN WAVE Scanner, and Trouble Bubbles but we don't need Nanobots or MASS Devices or the Pyramid of Darkness. You gotta use Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. If you did it right, it would be awesome. Keep Snake Eyes a Commando, (not a ninja, just a commando with Ninja training). Have Storm Shadow be the only ninja in the first movie, and then slowly get into the lore. The other movies throw it all at you in movie #1, which was a mistake> I'd keep Duke a minor character, because that is what he is like in the comic. Keep him the field commander, don't build the movie around him. Flint plays better around the world because he is the leader in many of the international versions (Like Action Force). Overall, better character.
Instead of a movie, why not just do a live-action series? Film it like Band Of Brothers, or something, but more than just a mini series. But, they still have to have their respective outfits, not just simply military attire. &, NO 'accelerator suits', or whatever. I said it @ the same time as you, about Snake Eyes. It doesn't matter. He wears that mask, & never talks, why over think it? I would, actually, give Joseph Gordon-Levitt another chance @ Cobra Commander. His iriteration wasn't that bad, but seemed bad because the movie around it. I could totally see him doing it well again. My only thought, for Shipwreck, is Pedro Pascal. Can't say why, but once he popped in my head, i can't stop imagining it.🤓 Samara Weaving is my Scarlett! Best thing about the Snake eyes movie. Definitely want more of that Scarlett
I think James Marsden would make a good Shipwreck. Taylor Lautner has the right voice for Airtight although he has too much hair on his head. If we wanted a more serious Shipwreck could be Joe Manganiello maybe? John Krasinsky would be a good Breaker and Ryan Gosling Steeler. Could Hason Mamoa do Zartan?
I would cast Scott Atkins as Snake Eyes. If he's going to fight. I mean there would be no point in having Snake Eyes if he wasn't. Scott is the perfect choice. As for Shipwreck I'd say Owen Wilson, maybe.
A few thoughts. Stop thinking movies, they’re a near dead medium. They are good for short self contained stories OR when you really Need a sense of scale (think Dune). An Amazon/Netflix series is the way to go. First, is this GI Joe a period piece (set in the 80s-90s) or today? Second what age do you want the majority or certain characters to be? Most rank past an E5 or Captain comes with some time enlisted Small 5-8 person teams 2 or 3 squads doing covert missions . Not too many big battles…yet. Think the Expendables. I like the idea of different environments and starting in the snow. Start off with a chase on skis, a few snowmobiles join in and then we see snowcats and snow tanks burst through and then we get a bit of a firefight. Snowjob and Iceberg just stole some info or destroyed a remote Cobra device or outpost in an Arctic location . Cobra forces pursue in motorized vehicles which then get ambushed and blown up by Joes. They all reach the rendezvous point to be airlifted by lift ticket to the oil rig platform. From there we leave by whale
Definitely like the idea of a series. I woudl not make it a period piece. Update it for a new audience, but keep many of the details of the comic book. Similar to the way Marvel movies use the comic book but update things when needed.
I'd keep the love story between Snake and Scarlett It's just fascinating to have the female character in love with the mute without a face. It doesn't have to be a love story, just have them in a relationship. Larry Hama pointed out in an interview it makes no sense for Scarlett to be in a relationship with Duke because he is her CO. It would never, ever be allowed.

Buzzkill - Gillian Jacobs
Tight Ship - Alison Brie
Three Kids - Yvette Nicole Brown
Fourth Wall - Danny Pudi
Yo Jobra!
Critical Drinker for Destro!!
He's got the accent down!
YES!!!
Ray Park was the best thing about those 2 GI Joe movies as Snake-Eyes. So why would you want to recast that?!
I'm fine with him. He fits the bill: Strong, martial artist. That's all you need
Considering how much showtime Shipwreck gets in the cartoon, I'd suggest Ryan Reynolds. With a beard and a parrot, he'd work as a smart ass ladies man.
yeah, he can do smarmy
Loved all your choices! I think Ray Parks was perfect as Snake-Eyes! He is known for not speaking in his roles, or showing his actual face for that matter.
For starters, a live action G.I. Joe should be a TV show. Plus the character's back stories should be based off the 80's Marvel Comics- but set in modern times.
Yes. A TV show is the way to go. Also agree on using the comics but updating. Have Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Stalker meet in Iraq or Afghanistan instead of Nam
That is exactly what I have been saying on social media. @@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal
Cillian Murphy as CoCo.
Famka Jensen would be a great Baroness
Cuba Gooding Jr to make a great Alpine
joe rogan as bazooka and dave chapelle alpine
That'd be great.
Just came across your channel and I've been binge watching! Great stuff! How bout Michael Che from SNL for Alpine to fit that comedian theme?
Thanks! yeah, he would be great. I think throwing comedians and wrestlers would make it more fun.
Matthew Lillard could cameo as Chuckles. :D And maybe Mark Dacascos as maybe Hard Master, or Soft Master. I thought that Ray Park did a good job as Snake- Eyes. :D
Somebody like Ray park is all you need for Snake Eyes
Dirk Benedict as General Flagg
Nicolas Cage as Cobra Commander
Shamus (from wwe) as Destro
Pink as Zarana
Micheal Bein as Duke
Vin Diesel as Clutch
Daisy Ridley as Lady Jaye
Roman Reigns (WWE) as Zartan
Dave Batista as Roadpig
Drake as Alpine
Christopher Judge as Roadblock
Victoria Pratt as the Baroness
Ryan Reynolds as Shipwreck
I have others ,but some of them have died, just too young or retired.
Nice picks! I'd kill to see Nick Cage play Cobra Commander
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Thanks. Felt weird to have a few WWE performers in there, but they are used to playing characters ,so.?
Ryan Reynolds plays a smartass so well ,so Shipwreck is ideal for him.
Raving lunatic ? Nic Cage to a tee.
Dirk Benedict ? Easy to see him as a senior officer.
Pink ? Can play the attitude
@@Chris-dz3rs There's a big tradition of having wrestlers in minor roles. Terry Funk in Roadhouse, Sabretooth on X-Men was a wrestler. GI joe would be a perfect place to get some wrestlers in
I think Michael Fassbender would play a great Shipwreck.
Hal Holbrook for Chuckles.
🤣🤣🤣
Ana de Armas or Eiza Gonzalez for Baroness
Alan Ritchson - Duke.
Gerard Butler - Flint.
Alexandra Daddario - Baroness.
Alycia Debnam Carey - Scarlett.
Scott Adkins - Snake Eyes.
Kane Kosugi - Storm Shadow.
John Leguizamo -Shipwreck.
Guy Pierce - Major Bludd.
Kevin McKidd - Destro.
Aiden Gillen - Cobra Commander.
Good list. Alexandra Daddario feels young for Baroness (I picture her more in here 40s), but she may be the hottest woman alive--So I'm game for that
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal I was thinking Olga Kurylenko or Monica Belucci but Daddario is 37 so not too young.
@@warsincs Damn, she looks 28 max. I remember when she was in Percy Jackson
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Memories of her in True Detective overtook any I had of Percy Jackson 😆
I'm actually working on my own script right now...Here's a few characters I'll share...
Duke - Alan Ritchson
Cobra Commander - Tom Hiddleston
Destro - Richard Madden
Roadblock - Yayha Abdul Mateen II
Gung Ho - Jason Momoa
General Hawk - Jon Hamm
Flint - Glen Powell
Zartan - Bill Skarsgard
Baroness - Megan Fox
Scarlett - Kat Mcnamara
Snake Eyes - Scott Adkins
Lady Jaye - Ruby Rose
Dr. Mindbender - Rami Malek
Major Bludd - Daniel Bruhl
Storm Shadow - Mike Moh
Alpine - Aldis Hodge
Bazooka - Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Tomax/Xamot - Kris Van Damme
Beach Beachhead - Jensen Ackles
Some good casting ideas here. Bill Skarsgard as Zartan would be cool
I can't imagine GI Joe shoving in woke politics, but anything is possible in this day and age.
LOL!
Tom Harding - Gunho
Kit Harington - ShipWreck
Tom Hardy is too small. Gunho needs to be a tall big guy.
Terry Cruz as Roadblock, Robert downy Jr would make a great Shipwreck.
Love it
So is this the more serious GI Joe where they kill characters or the tongue in cheeks humor that could get serious at times? ARAH was a very different thing from say GI Joe Resolute. Since you chose Russell as Hawk, then you can actually do a flashback to the original Joe team using his son.
I'd like some killing, but I'd keep it somewhat light. Maybe Indiana Jones tone? But you can argue for a slightly more violent r-rated version. I wouldn't go as far as Resolute. Keep to the comic book (original run)
Wyatt Russell would be awesome!!
I absolutely love your channel. I definitely think Kiefer Sutherland could play a role, and James Woods as Destro, or even CoCo. Sharlto was amazing as Murdock.
Thanks. Yeah, Keifer would be great as Hawk
James Woods as Destro. You could get a guy in a mask and use woods to do the voice work.
First is General Hawk, then Duke, then Flint & then Beach Head.
That is the order of leadership.
Yeah, If you go by the actual rank, then it gets weird, with a lot of random Joes ranking really high. Flint technically outranks Duke, because he is a Warrant officer (not my assessment, I read that somewhere)
I am suggesting that Stalker's rank would have changed throughout the years and he'd be higher.
I don't know how accurate this is, but it gets really weird:
www.halfbattle.com/listrank.html
That is cartoon order in the comics Stalker was actually second in command since Duke was not a member of the original team.
Rank didn't matter in GI Joe since it was a specialty team and was combined all branches of military and not a specific unit in one branch.
Josh Holloway (Sawyer in Lost) for Shipwreck.
That's pretty great
Love your channel I grew up on gi joe
Ha! I remember Rad
Matthew McConaghey as Shipwreck
cobra commander you are spot on with peaky blinders guy
He's a great actor. He'd give you the cold sociopath from the comic book
Bradley Cooper= Shipwreck
Shipwreck . Jason Lee from my name is earl
Oh yeah. He's go the smarmy down
Honestly, I think the reason a great G.I. Joe movie has been done is because it would just be to bloated to get everything everyone would want. I believe it would be a better live action TV series instead. They could knock it out of the park with a live action TV series.
Yeah, do it Band of Brothers style.
100% agree
I loved the actors you picked to play the gijoe roles. U would make a good gijoe movie
Thanks!
Will Arnett as Shipwreck for comic relief.
Yeah, definitely bring in Serpentor in movie/ season three. But use the comic book version of him.
Robert Pattinson as snake eyes
Scott Eastwood=Falcon.
Bradley Cooper=Shipwreck.
Yeah, that's good.
I think if they ever make a great GI Joe movie they would have to nail it with Stalker.
Agreed. I think Idris Elba could do it. But there are a few others who could be good.
The Best G.i.Joe movie is Predator in my opinion. 😂
100%
Would SGT Slaughter make at least a cameo like Stan Lee in several of the marvel movies?
Good idea. Also, Larry Hama and Ron Rudat should be put in there somewhere. Maybe as Generals?
Good idea, but he's no spring chicken so make him a general
Shipwreck doesn't take things as seriously as the other Joes so I'd cast a more comedic actor. Someone like Jason Sudekis, or a Nathan Fillion type.
True. I'd be up for that. They are gonna do a more kiddy style cartoon instead. But yeah, my only problem with Resolute is there is not enough of it
Honestly it would have to be a series like at 5 seasons 12 episodes to get the full jest of characters coming and going … it just way to many characters from both sides to be in a movie .. unless set it up like MCU movies
Thanks! Yeah, Dennis Quaid was good, But he had a million plastic surgeries and looks weird now
Like the choice of Mike Colter for Roadblock. If Beachhead is in it, I think Alan Ritchson from Reacher. Big, does fight scenes well, has that no nonsense tone down.
Also like the Spirit choice.
Oh yeah, Beach Head should be there. I missed him.
I think MMA fighter Chuck Liddell would be perfect as Gung-Ho.
Yeah, looks like him
needs rehab, or you can pay him in Coke.
Early 70's Bruce Dern would have been a great Shipwreck.
Listening to you talk about how lack luster G.I. Joe movies have been is so relatable. I made a Dreadnoks series concept. Love for you to take a look. Although it's a bit different approach to yours. More the MCU style. Start more microscopically then world build out.
Hey, I saw it. it looks awesome. Here it is if anybody reading comments wants to see it:
th-cam.com/video/vdnvvq5Bz_s/w-d-xo.html
We should never see Snakeeyes, Destro, and Cobra Commander's face. Voice acting only.
Agreed,
Danny trejo as major bludd😊
He's got the face for it.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal exactly why I said him but he probably can't do the voice.
I like your cast, my shipwreck would be Christian Slater!
Pedro Pascal as Shipwreck
That makes sense, since he is Latino
Ship Wreck? Maybe Pedro Pascal if he can do comedy? But really Hasbro doing a good job after the 80s, early 90s…. Lmao 😂 it needs to be smaller Team, like maybe The Expendables tone…for an older tone. I think you’re spot on for a lot of points 🎉
Oh and Renee Aubrey for Cobra Commander - think Zog from 5th Element. He can play anything amazingly.
A few minor additions for characters to tie the storylines together:
Dial Tone (who will be with Flint’s team)
Mainframe and Firewall back at Joe HQ providing tech support. They maybe have five minutes of screen time combined.
And one more character for the Arashikage storyline:
Lana Condor as Jinx.
😁
Bill Hader as Shipwreck
You'll have to find the clip from the cartoon movie with the recruits ringing the bell to put to get people to click the notification bell.
Good idea!
how sci fi would you go?
The other movies throw it all at you in movie #1, which was a mistake>
I'd keep Duke a minor character, because that is what he is like in the comic. Keep him the field commander, don't build the movie around him. Flint plays better around the world because he is the leader in many of the international versions (Like Action Force). Overall, better character.
I could totally see Michael Jai White as Stalker.
Dream casting, Michael Kenneth Williams as Stalker.
RIP
Master and Apprentice was done by Devil's Due Publishing not IDW
Oh yeah. It's pretty good. A lot of the Devil's Due stuff is good
Robert Knepper as major Bludd
Bryan Kranston as Dr Mindbender
Henry Simmons as Roadblock
Laura Prepon as the Baroness
Bryan Cranston as Mindbender would be great
Cristian Slater as Ship Wreck
Ryan Gosling as Snake Eyes. No speaking, and right build.
Can't say why, but once he popped in my head, i can't stop imagining it.🤓
Samara Weaving is my Scarlett! Best thing about the Snake eyes movie. Definitely want more of that Scarlett
Yeah, a big-budget series would be great. I like Joseph Gordon Leviit, it's definitely not his fault Rise of Cobra sucks so hard
Cm'on, Shipwreck would Have to be Bill Burr. Yea, Snowjob is a good part for him but I was thinking Ryan Renolds as Snowjob.
I think Dennis Quaid did a great job as Hawlk and wouldn't mind seeing him do it again
He's good. The plastic surgery is showing through though. He's getting that weird look
Ray Nicholson for Shipwreck!
Jake Johnson would be a dope Shipwreck
I would cast Scott Atkins as Snake Eyes. If he's going to fight. I mean there would be no point in having Snake Eyes if he wasn't. Scott is the perfect choice. As for Shipwreck I'd say Owen Wilson, maybe.
Yeah, all you need is a martial artist who can look good in the suit, Scott Atkins can do that
Gerard butler as shipwreck
I can see that
Shipwreck - Hugh Jackman
Hawk - Dennis Quaid
Karl Urban would make a killer Dreadnok, but Ripper might be a waste of his talent
I was thinking Joe Mangenellio as Shipwreck. Seems to have the nerd cred.
Yeah, true, he is a big D&D guy. It would be great to get someone excited to play these characters. The cast of RISE OF COBRA all hated it.
Most rank past an E5 or Captain comes with some time enlisted
Small 5-8 person teams 2 or 3 squads doing covert missions .
Oh yeah and decide if you’re going Snake Eyes/ Scarlett or
Duke / Scarlett.
Personally I don’t want a romance between either, it muddles up the plot
Definitely like the idea of a series. I woudl not make it a period piece. Update it for a new audience, but keep many of the details of the comic book. Similar to the way Marvel movies use the comic book but update things when needed.
I'd keep the love story between Snake and Scarlett It's just fascinating to have the female character in love with the mute without a face. It doesn't have to be a love story, just have them in a relationship.
Larry Hama pointed out in an interview it makes no sense for Scarlett to be in a relationship with Duke because he is her CO. It would never, ever be allowed.
