- In this video, Destro Is My Spirit Animal fan casts an Ideal GI Joe Movie (that we probably won't get, because the last three stunk)
#gijoe #80snostalgia #fancast
Also, Can't figure out who to cast as SHIPWRECK. Who would you cast?
What characters would you need included in a great GI Joe Movie?
I feel A NEW GI JOE MOVIE if done right could be an amazing movie rivaling some of the best IP out there, like MIssion Impossible, Lord of The Rings, or Marvel movies.
A GI JOE MOVIE could combine elements from war movies like Saving Private Ryan, with spy movies like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE with STAR WARS and MARTIAL ARTS movies. And have elements of THE ROAD WARRIOR (Dreadnoks) and TOP GUN.
Since Shipwreck is part latino, I think he should be played by Pedro Pascal. For Gung-Ho, there just one guy: Stonecold Steve Austin!
Yeah, that would be good. Pedro can do the smarmy thing. Stonecold would be great. Did he play him in the Funny or Die music video?
Sgt Slaughter... Sgt. F*kn Slaughter
For years I thought Ben Stiller was playing Ripper in that Funny or Die video (Olivia Wilde looked hot as the Baroness!) but lots of people said it was a different actor
@@MrChristopoop Honestly, that Funny or Die video nailed the casting
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Wrestlers can act well enough to be a Marine easy enough.
I would love to see Karl Urban as Major Bludd
Karl Urban could play anyone and nail it.
@@cesarc.4230 yep, I'd love to see a Shipwreck ala' Billy Butcher.
I’d argue that GI Joe is best as a TV series. Use the Marvel comic series as the story boards. If Jack Nicholson were in his 30s he’d be perfect as Shipwreck
Yeah, I think you are right. Too big to fit in a movie, unless you went all Lord of the Rings and made it superlong
@@jeenkzk5919 agreed on the tv series part…but I would pick the idw universe instead
I always thought Terry Cruz would make an excellent Roadblock. And I made my custom Gung Ho using Michael Cudlitz head sculpt.✌️🤘🇨🇦
That works because part of Rockblock's character is that he is a chef. Terry Crews in an apron.
John Ham as Flint is perfect! Great video!! Awesome channel!
Thanks!
Adam Beach would be a great Airborne. He was in Law and Order SVU. There's a connection there 😂
Yeah, if it was done back in the day he would have been perfect.
A Gi Joe movie would be great if they stayed true to the content… it has to be be based in the 80s if nothing else… it be really good as a streaming series
I don't mind them updating the timeline, as long as they use the damn source material (unlike the last three movies)
Bruce Campbell as Shipwreck
Chris pratt as cutter
Yes 20 years ago Bruce would have made a great Shipwreck.
Shipwreck = Zac Efron. Google bearded Zac Efron. He’s got the comedic chops (Baywatch, neighbors) as well as some dramatic talent.
Dude I think the same Zack Efron can be a great shipwreck or may be tunnel rat, and Henry Cavil can portray Flint the best
@@unknown-mt3cn I’d probably go with a short Asian for TR. I like Cavil for Flint too. Duke I’d cast Chris Evans and Jon Hamm as Hawk
Cillian Murphy as CoCo.
I enjoyed the hell out of that my man. Love the channel. Nobody does the stuff you do. As a 43 year old "kid" who still plays and collects Joe's and Transformers I really love videos like this. Keep 'em coming brother. This channel is gonna blow up. I just know it. ✌️
Thanks alot!
I agree with this. It just fills me with pleasant memories of my time as a kid. Still collect the Classifieds of my favorite characters.
Duke - Stephen Lang
Gung Ho - Dave Bautista
Airborne- Boo Boo Stewart
Zartan - Scott Adkins
Baroness - Anya Taylor Joy
Bazooka - Nick Offerman
Alpine- Keegan Michael Key
Snake Eyes - Jung Ji-Hoon
Destro - Richard Madden OR Rory McCann
Scarlett - Karen Gillan
Cover Girl- Olga Kurylenko
Roadblock - Winston Duke
Tunnel Rat - Andrew Koji
Flint- Chace Crawford
Lady Jaye - Deborah Ann Wohl
Cobra Commander- Travis Fimmel
OH yeah, Dave Bautista would be a great Gung Ho. Nick Offerman as Bazooka is also genius
I said Winston Duke as Roadblock, but, Christopher Judge would be great, too.
Karen Gillan could play anyone and I'd watch it lol
Snake Eyes is a white guy!
Lang is too old to play Duke.
Loved all your choices! I think Ray Parks was perfect as Snake-Eyes! He is known for not speaking in his roles, or showing his actual face for that matter.
Ryan Reynolds would be the perfect Shipwreck he had the look already when he was in Amityville and he can definitely handle the wisecracks as all Deadpool fans know.
@@brannoncash5806 Ryan Reynolds would be my pick for chuckles.
@@PhilDPino Chuckles never talked or showed any personality in the cartoon. Comics slightly more but certainly not funny or sarcastic. I think you take the beard and the build that Reynolds had in Ammityville and with his sarcastic humor he would be perfect for shipwreck
@@brannoncash5806 the idw (not Hamaverse) Chuckles had a lot of personality that really would match Reynolds.
We should never see Snakeeyes, Destro, and Cobra Commander's face. Voice acting only.
Agreed,
Critical Drinker for Destro!!
He's got the accent down!
YES!!!
Ray Park was the best thing about those 2 GI Joe movies as Snake-Eyes. So why would you want to recast that?!
I'm fine with him. He fits the bill: Strong, martial artist. That's all you need
love the channel and your content. do yourself a favor and never look up what famke jannsen has done to her face. remember the good times.
Oh no. Yeah, I'll just remember her crushing men with her thighs in Goldeneye
For me, rule number 1 is that it needs to look like GI Joe. I want some of the awesome vehicles that that recognizable as GI Joe and Cobra, including the HISS tank ( that actually looks like a HiSS tank), the Wolverine tank, the motorcycle with machine gun sidecar, the Claw, the Trouble Bubbles, and the Mauler. I want the Dreadnocks in it and I want them to have some Road Warrior looking monster vehicles. And I want the characters to look like they are from GI Joe and Cobra and not some Michael Bay movie where every character except Snake-Eyes wears the same tactical battle armor. Use the current Classified figures as a guide. They updated the figures but kept them true in spirit to the originals.
Yeah.when they tried to go all modern age they ruin it imo
Shipwreck-Scott Eastwood
Maybe Low-light.
Since my comments were wiped out because of the glitch, I will suggest Christian Slater as Shipwreck. His characterization in the cartoon was iconic as the 1980s version of Jack Nicholson in The Last Detail. (Well, a G-rated version, anyway!) And what Gen-X actor sounds like Nicholson? Christian Slater. And he still looks good for his age, even if he is in his fifties now.
Yes, love Christian Slater. And he's not doing anything else
After watching the T A team this week I can see Bradley Cooper being shipwreck especially The way shipwreck would always hit on women in the cartoon
Yeah, he can do smarmy
For starters, a live action G.I. Joe should be a TV show. Plus the character's back stories should be based off the 80's Marvel Comics- but set in modern times.
Yes. A TV show is the way to go. Also agree on using the comics but updating. Have Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Stalker meet in Iraq or Afghanistan instead of Nam
That is exactly what I have been saying on social media. @@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal
Kurt Russell as Hawk (Hells Yes!), Idris Elba as Stalker (Oh yeah), Mike Colter as Roadblock (Spot on), Sam Elliot as Wild Bill (Of Course), Snow Job (You had me at Bill Burr), Tom Hardy as Destro (Any excuse to him the movie but yes he could be Destro: good choice), Good call on Flint (don't know the actor well but I like him as Flint), Hailee Atwell would be good for Lady Jaye but I'd consider Emily Blunt, and Shipwreck well I agree; difficult choice but I think I'd go with Diego Luna. Whoever I didn't mention I don't disagree with I just don't really know the actor per se. For Me Cobra Commander could easily be Bradley Cooper. He could easily do a great voice (Rocket Raccoon) and he is good actor. Cool Video
Yeah, Diego Luna could be good for Shipwreck because it would keep him Latin. He'd have to act smarmy though. Emily Blunt is a great pick for Lady Jaye
I really enjoyed the video@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Thanks
Pedro Pascal as Shipwreck
That makes sense, since he is Latino
The Best G.i.Joe movie is Predator in my opinion. 😂
100%
Michael colter as road block
joe rogan as bazooka and dave chapelle alpine
That'd be great.
Considering how much showtime Shipwreck gets in the cartoon, I'd suggest Ryan Reynolds. With a beard and a parrot, he'd work as a smart ass ladies man.
yeah, he can do smarmy
I'm not against the idea of live a action Joe movie/s or series. I just feel live action takes too much dedication to this scope of production several live action series like all those cop ones(NRD CP or what have you) or like the Netflix Defenders run. A cartoon series done in the Resolute style would work too fewer problems to just get voice talent for a dark gritty cartoon.
True. I'd be up for that. They are gonna do a more kiddy style cartoon instead. But yeah, my only problem with Resolute is there is not enough of it
My gi joe movie would be written by Quentin Tarantino I would give him full creative control so the size of the team would likely be a little smaller
I'd love to see that. There'd be lots of shots of Baroness' feet
Maybe the movie could include scenes from some of the best comic storylines. Like issue #82 showing the Joe selection process (Budo, Repeater & Lightfoot could be swapped for heavier hitters); Special Missions #22 featuring the hostage situation with the bait & switch “smiling man” ending (could be a great first scene); the Borovia circus arc around issue #65; or Zartan’s infiltration of the pit in #48. Tons more but that’s what came to mind first.
Good idea. In a real crazy over-the-top fantasy--after the movie is a hit, they make a "GI Joe: Special Missions" TV Show
The direction Hollywood movies are going i'm EXTREMELY doubtful for a good (not even great) a good GI Joe movie, case and point that end scene in Transformers ROTB.... WTF was that, who TF was that old ugly dude and whats up with the big ass empty warehouse with only 1 random weird looking vehicle!!??
But if they made one, i would like me to do it ;) or the ppl that made that AWESOME D&D movie, it was the perfect blend of campy cartoon vibe with some genuine "reel life" moments!.... not gonna over all the casting you did but i think Bradley Cooper would make a good Shipwreck and i would pick Shailene Woodley for Lady Jaye
Agreed. Very little chance they'll make a good one, Especially in the hands of the producer D'Bonaventura, who has been F%^king up movies for thirty years
I absolutely love your channel. I definitely think Kiefer Sutherland could play a role, and James Woods as Destro, or even CoCo. Sharlto was amazing as Murdock.
Thanks. Yeah, Keifer would be great as Hawk
James Woods as Destro. You could get a guy in a mask and use woods to do the voice work.
Cuba Gooding Jr to make a great Alpine
Scott adkins is the only logical choise for snake-eyes. I think Pedro Pascal whould be a very nice shipwreck. I whould also team up John cena as leatherneck, with Mark Wahlberg as wetsuit. I think they whould make a nice shit talking duo. I also think that the tone of the Kings men movies is near perfect for a good g.i.joe movie.
Oh yeah, John Cena as Leatherneck is good.
I like your cast, my shipwreck would be Christian Slater!
If the movie is gonna serve as crossover with Transformers later, id prefer the new films be closer to the 1980's An American Hero animated Series. I grew up with that show, loving it and tried collecting toyline stuff. Till this day, that show has best toyline than any show besides Star Wars. Im sold if the live action movies are close to that animated series.
I prefer the comic but I would definitely keep some things from the cartoon: The characterization of Alpine, Bazooka, Quick Kick, Shipwreck, Roadblock, Spirit and others
If youve watched strikeback thats how i would set gijoe up a small team then you meet other known joes when you go to new places
I haven't watched it. I'll have to check it out
Josh Holloway (Sawyer in Lost) for Shipwreck.
That's pretty great
Put this on as I was falling asleep. You have a soothing voice.
Been reading the image cobra commander and Duke books, looking forward to the destro book and the scarlet book.
I always thought Colin Farrell would make a decent shipwreck.
The three live action gijoe movies whole not get had some good moments.
The look of the pit. The underwater scene. And snake eyes in the movies were decent. I loved how they made the trailers all about those super suits and then they were barely in the movie.
I like your pick of Copley as Zartan (if I heard that right) and I would follow Carrie Coon almost anywhere.
I think you said you wanted her as cover girl? But she might actually make a better baroness. Jansen is too old at this point.
Sam Elliot as wild bill is inspired. How about the aging but still beautiful Timothy Olyphant as Hawk.
Who did you say Bill Bur should be? Frostbite? I’ll take that.
My pick for the Crimson twins was always Jason and Jeremy London
Nick Brendon and his twin Kelly would have worked but nick has had some alcohol issues in his life and I just don’t know if he’s got that in check.
Mathew mconnahay as wild bill but best fits are old actors. Hopefully hollywierd leaves gi joe alone tho.
They are supposed to make a GI joe/ Transformers crossover film
Matthew Lillard could cameo as Chuckles. :D And maybe Mark Dacascos as maybe Hard Master, or Soft Master. I thought that Ray Park did a good job as Snake- Eyes. :D
Somebody like Ray park is all you need for Snake Eyes
Wingman - Joel McHale
Buzzkill - Gillian Jacobs
Tight Ship - Alison Brie
Three Kids - Yvette Nicole Brown
Fourth Wall - Danny Pudi
Yo Jobra!
I am so sick of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. They are the most overrated and overused Joes ever. We’ve seen this ninja shit over and over. Snake Eyes is the Boba Fett of GI Joe. Less is more. When the figure came out in 82 before the cartoon and comic book he was just a tactical commando not a silent ninja. Since he doesn’t talk let him be a background character. I also hate the soap opera relationships between Lady J and Flint and Baroness and Destro. Stick to the action. No time for love, Doctor Jones. Stalker #2?!?! GTFO. It’s General Flagg, Hawk, Duke, Flint then Beachhead. Destro needs to be more like his Scottish ancestry like Eccleston than the big muscular black voiced actor from the cartoon. Hardy would be a bit too much like Bane Redux. Terry Crews is perfect as Roadblock. Back in the day Richard Chavez would have been a great Spirit. We all have our Dream Team casting but the reality is the movies will never live up to our expectations.
Oh no. You're not a fan of the comic book, I assume? That was all about love and ninjas
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Judging by his pecking order, he's probably a cartoon guy
Also, the way you feel about Snake Eyes is the way I feel about Duke--Most overrated, boring character. Completely uninteresting. It makes sense to have Stalker get promoted because he has been with the team the longest.
And Comic book Destro is a big dude that can beat the crap out of most people. Ecclecteston was wrong for the part
@@christianbrix4311 lol cartoon Destro is nothing like his file card character. He’s Scotish not some humungous steroid looking guy with an African American voice. I remember that 1-2 years before there was a cartoon or comic book when us Joe fans only had the descriptions in the file cards for each character and we had to make up our own back stories. I certainly never made Snake Eyes a ninja. Just a tactical commando who was an expert like a Navy Seal. That will always be MY Snake Eyes not some ninja wearing a silly medieval knight visor with a sword. Stalker was an infantry Ranger and Sergeant Major E9. Duke was a Master Sergeant E8. He was a Green Beret and graduated top of his class from Fort Benning. I never pegged Stalker as command material. Personally Hawk will always be in command because he was the team leader in 82 when he came with the MMS. When Duke was the mail-away figure for 83 I was like “Who is this clown?” Then the cartoon mini-series cane out and Duke was front and center to promote the new action figure as the star of the team. Then we got Flint who was Discount Duke and then with the movie we got Falcon who was Flint Lite.
The old movies wasted destros potential and i didn't like they made baroness dukes girlfriend and made cobra dukes best friend
Absolutely hated their Destro
A few thoughts.
Stop thinking movies, they’re a near dead medium.
They are good for short self contained stories OR when you really Need a sense of scale (think Dune).
An Amazon/Netflix series is the way to go.
First, is this GI Joe a period piece (set in the 80s-90s) or today?
Second what age do you want the majority or certain characters to be?
Most rank past an E5 or Captain comes with some time enlisted
Small 5-8 person teams 2 or 3 squads doing covert missions .
Not too many big battles…yet.
Think the Expendables.
I like the idea of different environments and starting in the snow.
Start off with a chase on skis, a few snowmobiles join in and then we see snowcats and snow tanks burst through and then we get a bit of a firefight.
Snowjob and Iceberg just stole some info or destroyed a remote Cobra device or outpost in an Arctic location .
Cobra forces pursue in motorized vehicles which then get ambushed and blown up by Joes.
They all reach the rendezvous point to be airlifted by lift ticket to the oil rig platform.
From there we leave by whale
Oh yeah and decide if you’re going Snake Eyes/ Scarlett or
Duke / Scarlett.
Personally I don’t want a romance between either, it muddles up the plot
Definitely like the idea of a series. I woudl not make it a period piece. Update it for a new audience, but keep many of the details of the comic book. Similar to the way Marvel movies use the comic book but update things when needed.
I'd keep the love story between Snake and Scarlett It's just fascinating to have the female character in love with the mute without a face. It doesn't have to be a love story, just have them in a relationship.
Larry Hama pointed out in an interview it makes no sense for Scarlett to be in a relationship with Duke because he is her CO. It would never, ever be allowed.
So is this the more serious GI Joe where they kill characters or the tongue in cheeks humor that could get serious at times? ARAH was a very different thing from say GI Joe Resolute. Since you chose Russell as Hawk, then you can actually do a flashback to the original Joe team using his son.
I'd like some killing, but I'd keep it somewhat light. Maybe Indiana Jones tone? But you can argue for a slightly more violent r-rated version. I wouldn't go as far as Resolute. Keep to the comic book (original run)
Wyatt Russell would be awesome!!
Master and Apprentice was done by Devil's Due Publishing not IDW
Oh yeah. It's pretty good. A lot of the Devil's Due stuff is good
I do not think a movie is the way to go.... to much character . Too much lore a série is the way to go
Yeah, a series like Game of Thrones/ Band of Brothers would be good
Shipwreck . Jason Lee from my name is earl
Oh yeah. He's go the smarmy down
Cristian Slater as Ship Wreck
Famka Jensen would be a great Baroness
Scott Eastwood=Falcon.
Bradley Cooper=Shipwreck.
Yeah, that's good.
Honestly, I think the reason a great G.I. Joe movie has been done is because it would just be to bloated to get everything everyone would want. I believe it would be a better live action TV series instead. They could knock it out of the park with a live action TV series.
Yeah, do it Band of Brothers style.
100% agree
Matthew McConaghey as Shipwreck
Bradley Cooper= Shipwreck
I think Michael Fassbender would play a great Shipwreck.
Cm'on, Shipwreck would Have to be Bill Burr. Yea, Snowjob is a good part for him but I was thinking Ryan Renolds as Snowjob.
Terry Crews as Roadblock
Dude… that was awesome! Love those casting choices. I want that to be an HBO show with 8 seasons.
Thanks. yeah. Somebody call HBO
Will Arnett as Shipwreck for comic relief.
Ok but didn't they already Make two gi joe movie's???
Three terrible ones. They have a GI Joe and Transformers crossover movie in development--which I personally could do without
The reacher actor could be a good Duke and Henry cavil for flint or falcon
Yes, that's good! Definitely should get Henry Cavill in there
Honestly it would have to be a series like at 5 seasons 12 episodes to get the full jest of characters coming and going … it just way to many characters from both sides to be in a movie .. unless set it up like MCU movies
Yeah, A Band of Brothers style mini-series would be good. I was imagining most of the characters would be in the background, showing up for a scene here or there.
I would like to see them stay early on in the series. Keep the character roster pre '84. Embrace the feel of it instead of making it "Real World"
I think Dennis Quaid did a great job as Hawlk and wouldn't mind seeing him do it again
He's good. The plastic surgery is showing through though. He's getting that weird look
Hated snake eyes movie I couldnt get past him being so dishonorable so stopped watching the movie
Agreed. I didn;t hate the movie--but hated their treatment of Snake Eyes
@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal like you said if it wasn't gi joe movie I would have liked it
Instead of a movie, why not just do a live-action series? Film it like Band Of Brothers, or something, but more than just a mini series. But, they still have to have their respective outfits, not just simply military attire. &, NO 'accelerator suits', or whatever. I said it @ the same time as you, about Snake Eyes. It doesn't matter. He wears that mask, & never talks, why over think it? I would, actually, give Joseph Gordon-Levitt another chance @ Cobra Commander. His iriteration wasn't that bad, but seemed bad because the movie around it. I could totally see him doing it well again. My only thought, for Shipwreck, is Pedro Pascal. Can't say why, but once he popped in my head, i can't stop imagining it.🤓
Samara Weaving is my Scarlett! Best thing about the Snake eyes movie. Definitely want more of that Scarlett
Yeah, a big-budget series would be great. I like Joseph Gordon Leviit, it's definitely not his fault Rise of Cobra sucks so hard
Alan Richson:Gung Ho
Maria Sten: Shooter
Serinda Swan:Lady Jaye.
Kate Beckinsale:Baroness
Cillian Murphy:Destro
But you nailed it with Idris Elba as Stalker
Scarlett Johansson:Scarlet
Very nice
Serinda Swan would rock Baroness as opposed to Lady Jaye.
Charlie Hunnam for Shipwreck.
Ana de Armas or Eiza Gonzalez for Baroness
Dirk Benedict as General Flagg
Nicolas Cage as Cobra Commander
Shamus (from wwe) as Destro
Pink as Zarana
Micheal Bein as Duke
Vin Diesel as Clutch
Daisy Ridley as Lady Jaye
Roman Reigns (WWE) as Zartan
Dave Batista as Roadpig
Drake as Alpine
Christopher Judge as Roadblock
Victoria Pratt as the Baroness
Ryan Reynolds as Shipwreck
I have others ,but some of them have died, just too young or retired.
Nice picks! I'd kill to see Nick Cage play Cobra Commander
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Thanks. Felt weird to have a few WWE performers in there, but they are used to playing characters ,so.?
Ryan Reynolds plays a smartass so well ,so Shipwreck is ideal for him.
Raving lunatic ? Nic Cage to a tee.
Dirk Benedict ? Easy to see him as a senior officer.
Pink ? Can play the attitude
@@Chris-dz3rs There's a big tradition of having wrestlers in minor roles. Terry Funk in Roadhouse, Sabretooth on X-Men was a wrestler. GI joe would be a perfect place to get some wrestlers in
Would SGT Slaughter make at least a cameo like Stan Lee in several of the marvel movies?
Good idea. Also, Larry Hama and Ron Rudat should be put in there somewhere. Maybe as Generals?
Good idea, but he's no spring chicken so make him a general
I think MMA fighter Chuck Liddell would be perfect as Gung-Ho.
Yeah, looks like him
needs rehab, or you can pay him in Coke.
She's not the greatest actress in the world, but I would still give Katheryn Winnick a chance to play Scarlet. She's a skilled martial artist and she'll commit 100% to the role, and not phone it in like Samara Weaving.
Yeah, she could do it. I liked Samara Weaving though. One of the few good things in the Snake-Eyes movie
Oh Meagan Goode all the way. Fierce and total babe.
She's so hot
All I know is that of they had made a movie in the 80s or 90s the only person I could accept as Zartan was Ozzy but sadly Ozzy is now in his 70s so probably too old to do much physical action and the fact he can hardly talk anymore but as long as he yells or sings his words he speaks perfectly fine which is great for Zartan as in my mind Ozzy and Zartan have always been the same person just in 2 different universes, and Vin Diesel for playing Destro and definitely Dee Snider for the Dreadnok Buzzer and as far as the look that youtuber woman called Sniperwolf would definitely look the part of the Baroness, but whoever plays Cobra Commander has to have the iconic voice of Cobra Commander cause he and Starscream from transformers had the best voice actor ever for those roles and even though I was never a huge fan of Cobra Commander thought his British lunatic voice was the best voice in the cartoon
I always thought that stone cold could play a good gung ho
yeah, he would be great
Alan Ritchson - Duke.
Gerard Butler - Flint.
Alexandra Daddario - Baroness.
Alycia Debnam Carey - Scarlett.
Scott Adkins - Snake Eyes.
Kane Kosugi - Storm Shadow.
John Leguizamo -Shipwreck.
Guy Pierce - Major Bludd.
Kevin McKidd - Destro.
Aiden Gillen - Cobra Commander.
Good list. Alexandra Daddario feels young for Baroness (I picture her more in here 40s), but she may be the hottest woman alive--So I'm game for that
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal I was thinking Olga Kurylenko or Monica Belucci but Daddario is 37 so not too young.
@@warsincs Damn, she looks 28 max. I remember when she was in Percy Jackson
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Memories of her in True Detective overtook any I had of Percy Jackson 😆
Gustaf scarsguard for zartan
Are they making another film?
If they do, 90% chance it's trash. But this is more for a hypothetical good film that they won't make
Sharlto Copley is actually South African, not a New Zealander, BUT I’ve heard him do all sorts of accents, so he’s a great fit. There might need to be a bit of time travel to make a lot of these actors work age-wise, but the VIBE of every single one of them is spot on, man. Fantastic video! I’m subscribing! 👏👏👏
I loved the actors you picked to play the gijoe roles. U would make a good gijoe movie
Thanks!
Hal Holbrook for Chuckles.
🤣🤣🤣
A few minor additions for characters to tie the storylines together:
Dial Tone (who will be with Flint’s team)
Mainframe and Firewall back at Joe HQ providing tech support. They maybe have five minutes of screen time combined.
And one more character for the Arashikage storyline:
Lana Condor as Jinx.
😁
I liked a lot of your casting choices, but tbh you lost me plot-wise at “snake eyes-storm shadow”. I’m done w that story. It’s been beaten to death, revived, and beaten again. The entire GIJoe mythos needs to move forward.
OMG GI Joe MINISERIES🙏. I just got an erection😳. Would be awesome. You’re right on track with Alba. That guys so cool. Terry Crews as “Road Block” no brainer. The Rock as DESTRO. I say make him evil. The chic that played Wonder Woman can be the Baroness. I love the Kurt Russell idea buuut ya know he’s in his 70’s not 60’s. Tommy Lee also great but he’s waaay old. Oh yeah Jesse V woulda been perfect Gung Ho.
I know where Estonia is. My uncle was from Estonia. Rip Tavo Selveste
You've always got cool videos. Besides the Joe angle, there's just not a lot of people out there that can speak that long and keep it interesting and leave out a shit trail of umms, kind of, sort of, like, ummm, like. I've checked out a few entries on your film channel, so I know you've got better ideas for casting here than I do. However, one pitch is Viggo Mortensen. His character in G.I. Jane is one bad ass mother fo Navy SEAL commander. At his current age I could see him playing General Hawk, maybe Wild Bill. (younger Sam Elliot is a great choice, but he's really getting up there in age now.). Joe Rogan with a mustache possible as Bazooka. Snake Eyes, how about give the role to a stunt man / stunt double. I think that would be a nice gesture and a lot of stunt men would love to do the role.
Turning GI Joe into a power series, live action, would be a massive under taking. The tone would have to be perfect. All the character's primary & secondary military specialties would have to be showcased during an impactful scene, maybe not always for their introduction. There's already a multitude of races in GI Joe. There's no need for race swapping. Each aspect of their character are part of them. Where they're from, the way they talk & behave, their miltitary branch & history. It needs to reflect the gile cards. The team dynamic is also extremely important. Each team member to jump start the brand, needs a pivotal role to play. I've heard the debate from other Joe channels with dream casting & storyline / plot. Some do feel it should be set in the 80's. Also, that it should star the OG13. Having never read the comics, Idk much about those guys, except for the ones primarily featured in the Sunbow series. Of course, you have your heavy hitters, like Hawk, Snake-Eyes & Scarlet, then Rock&Roll, Stalker & and Breaker. I think Short-fuse, Grunt & Steeler had one appearance in the series. The rest idk at all. My first Joe figure was actually Zap. I was so excited, I tore opened the blister pack as soon as I got in the car & the accessories flew everywhere! Lol The only thing I know about him, is that he's Latino & he's the rpg guy.
Problem with me is, I haven't kept up with Hollywood these days. I recently watched a few episodes of that Jack Ryan series & thought it was great. I enjoyed Reacher, too. I don't remember any actor's names, though. For Baroness, when I hear Eastern European, I automatically think Russian, Ukrainian & the Cheque Rebublic, or their immediate surrounding neighbors. A lot of the actors I can think of, are too old now. I'm out of the loop. I do agree that Samara Weaving was perfect for Scarlet!! Also, do you want blonde Hawk or brunette Hawk? Edris would be great as Stalker too. Would General Colton be featured as the first model of what the team embodies? Perhaps he hand-picks Abernathy to lead the Joes? What about Admiral Keel-Haul? If he makes an appearance, technically he's the highest ranking Joe. ( Rear admiral ) Will he now take orders from Hawk, who is only a Brigadier General? Even Flint, who is a Warrant Officer, out ranks Duke, who's a First Sgt.
Whatever they do, it needs to be done right. Hasbro should not have so much control, they've screwed it up in the past, every single time! Lol Perhaps, it's Paramount's fault too. They both have had terrible collaborations.
I would love to see Dan Stevens as Cobra Commander. I think Chris Hemsworth would be an awesome Duke after seeing him in the Extraction films. Terry Crews for Roadblock 100%. I don't dislike Kinneman for Duke. Tom Cruise for Flagg.
So they need to take some plots from the original marvel run. Perhaps the creation of Cobra Island.
Shipwreck - Hugh Jackman
Hawk - Dennis Quaid
Karl Urban would make a killer Dreadnok, but Ripper might be a waste of his talent
I think James Marsden would make a good Shipwreck. Taylor Lautner has the right voice for Airtight although he has too much hair on his head. If we wanted a more serious Shipwreck could be Joe Manganiello maybe? John Krasinsky would be a good Breaker and Ryan Gosling Steeler.
Could Hason Mamoa do Zartan?
how sci fi would you go? If Hawk came in late would you put him in the jet pack. Russel as Hawk is perfect. Not a huge fan of Stalker but making him a little older as Elba works great. Duke was such a focus in the cartoon and first movie, its a hard choice. Do you continue with him or piss off anyone casual fan who only knew the cartoon? Kinneman is an ok choice altho, I don't like him as an actor that much. Roadblock definitely a great choice, haven't seen that show to know the actor you picked. Once again with Gung Ho, not a huge fan of the character. Wouldn't even include him. Spirit great character and actor. Wild Bill would be a minor character? Or would he get more screen time? I don't like Airborne either, would skip that character. Was a one trick pony in the cartoon with his psychic stuff. Shooter is a great choice, very similar to the sniper is Predators, would give that vibe. Gotta have Tunnel Rat, good pick. A cameo scene scene where they jump around the globe, but don't say who the characters are would be a great setup for future movies. A fun idea would be to have the different Cobra Sub groups not part of Cobra yet. The Twins, and Destro are separate entities that Commander is trying to bring in. I would show them all as little as possible. There was no mystery in the first movie, because you saw what they were doing the whole time. I'd bring in Zartan but not have him accept Co Co's invitation. I always wanted the guy that played Kano in the Mortal Kombat movie to play Ripper, but he's too old now. I just saw a current pic of Femke, and she got real old. Definitely not the looker she used to be. Tom Hardy likes to do weird stuff with his voice in movies. I'd like to be able to understand Destro. Great pick though, but would probably take the entire budget. Idris Elba would also make a great Destro. I don't think you would even know who was under the CoCo hood. People are gonna hate it, but I think the Classified Shipwreck looks a bit like Bradly Cooper. Perfect choice for Flint. I would not use Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Thats been done to death. They are soldiers, would you kill them off? it should really be a Game of Thrones type series, not movies.
Agreed it should be a Game of Thrones type series. There should definitely be deaths. I would keep the level of Sci-fi very low. Only do what something like the most recent Mission Impossible did--had an AI that is beyond what we have, but is believable that it will happen in a few years. A lot of the sci-fi elements of the toys are very close to happening or happening -- Like cloning, DNA, Serpentor is a stretch, but believable. I'd have BATS and a BRAIN WAVE Scanner, and Trouble Bubbles but we don't need Nanobots or MASS Devices or the Pyramid of Darkness.
You gotta use Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. If you did it right, it would be awesome. Keep Snake Eyes a Commando, (not a ninja, just a commando with Ninja training). Have Storm Shadow be the only ninja in the first movie, and then slowly get into the lore. The other movies throw it all at you in movie #1, which was a mistake>
I'd keep Duke a minor character, because that is what he is like in the comic. Keep him the field commander, don't build the movie around him. Flint plays better around the world because he is the leader in many of the international versions (Like Action Force). Overall, better character.
The casting is legit so bad. Based off the ranks of the Joes, I would venture that about 80% are younger than 32 years old. The actors are entirely too old and don't work. You are also better off using unknowns or lesser knowns so you have a chance to see the character and not the actor. Nobody sees Iron Man, they only see Robert Downey Jr (who is entirely too old by almost 25 years compared to the character and not a true depiction of Stark at all).
I don’t know why they don’t use Larry Hammas comic stories
Yeah, it's all right there for them
Because they don't want the movie to be successful
Tunnel Rat was also a Medic so his character knowing Martial arts would not be unbelievable. Team him with Shooter. So long as she keeps Politics out of her character by making her the kind of "all business" sort of soldier.
Tunnel Rat was a capable guy. Sniper with his LMG, Medic, and Demo who would be an ideal pairing for her. He was also a bit of a smart-mouth too so he would have had some MA skills. Say Jujitsu and some sort of Universal system like MMA or Krav.
I can't imagine GI Joe shoving in woke politics, but anything is possible in this day and age.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal was thinking more in story Miltary politcs. I do agree GI Joe is such a basic story it has no place for Woke as other movies or TV shows.
I like you I hope it never happens. just give me my Dreadnoks, CC threatening the world with some nukes and some sweet Hand to hand combat with some gun play. LOL!
Shipwreck doesn't take things as seriously as the other Joes so I'd cast a more comedic actor. Someone like Jason Sudekis, or a Nathan Fillion type.
