  • Join us, Dani and Sherry, for a DIY vintage dresser makeover today. We are honoring this sweet antique oak dresser with a DIY makeover withOUT using any Paint nor any Bondo. What? Yep...she may be vintage but she is a BEAUTY even with all her sags, her too large drawers and her scars!
***Important Note: We failed to mention on the video that after the oil-based stain CURES for about a week, we will be spraying her with a water-based polyurethane/varnish for protection. It is NOT recommended to use water-based products over oil-based products without adequate curing time. (And we opted NOT to use oil-based poly because it tends to make the finish more yellowish/orangeish.)
*3/23/22 UPDATE: Our sweet lady sold after being listed for 13 days For $325. She cost us $35 to buyher and about $30 for hardware, stain, etc. Our profit was $260.

Physically and emotionally abusive ex husband. Controlling and emotionally abusive current husband, before I left 2x and hr finally woke up to what I was saying about him was true. He has changed a lot, and realizes how he treated me in the past is the reason I am how I am now. We will have our 30th anniversary in April.
Within 3 years I lost my 3 closest friends. My Mom, my sister in a law and my sister from another mother. My support system was just ripped out beneath my feet. Anyway, I am getting over life's challenges and working in being a stronger person as much as I can. I love you 2 and the relationship you have. 💜💜💜

I love that sweet little dresser so much. I can totally relate, I've lived through a lot in my 60+ years, divorce, loss of loved ones, chronic illness, etc. But even though a lot of it has been hard, I can see how God has used it ll in my life to make me stronger and to increase the love and compassion for others. That to me is my inner beauty. 😍

The dresser turned out beautifully 🤩 I love that you restored it! As far as struggles that have shaped me there is a ton: tornado took out home, my mom died early, dad had brain tumor then cancer and passed early, breast cancer x2, our home flooded and had extensive water damage, and miscarriage, just to name a few 😉 However through each of these things I have grown as a person and most importantly in Christ! He has used them to shape me into who I am today 😊 I hope you ladies have a blessed week !

Thanks Debra! We both love the look of natural wood but we usually end up with pieces that have too much damage and we can't fix with our limited resources and skill set. Love love love what you have done with this pieces…its so beautiful…I paint furniture but like to use minimal approaches to beautiful wood. I also like when you show when you try something and it does not work. It is so relatable. And then showing what worked. Problem solving is big on working with individual pieces.

Carrie, that is so sweet! Yes, it is so important to have a relationship where you have the freedom to be exactly who you are: the good, the bad and the ugly and know you will be completely accepted and loved and sometimes teased and many times encouraged. Sometimes, that doesn't happen with moms and daughters but can happen with a best friend.
