Ryan I think the important part of all these winter videos is how important maintenance and repair/replacement as well as upgrades are to a successful business. Equipment neglect is costly.
Couldn’t agree more. The excavation company I’m employed by has machines that nobody takes the time to maintain, always some sort of breakdown and downtime going on. Just today we’re talking about needing new GPS equipment for the bulldozer talk about a hefty bill
The way you helped Eric, by giving him the means to succeed then when he called, you helped but didn't coddle him either. Then he called and said he fixed it? Boom huge lesson. That's what makes or breaks a small business, it's awesome how you are mentoring Eric, and it's even better he acknowledges and listens
This was my favorite episode. I’m really glad we got to see these customers. They saved up and got something they can be proud of. I’m really happy for them. Lovely people. Makes me proud to be an American.
Hey Ryan, been watching your videos pretty much since the beginning I like that this year you posted a lot more during the winter especially with all the maintenance and the new shop you have , It’s really entertaining ,it’s nice keeping us up-to-date and see your progression throughout the winter season getting ready for concrete season
@@antonlifer4449 well, I’m speaking in general. His whole channel. He’s never just showing us the good stuff. He shows everything. That’s why I really like him.
Hey Ryan, I love watching this channel during the cement season and also the snow season. Being from Chicago.. born and raised and left it 22 yrs ago and I said adios to the snow but I have learned alot from cement and now I do it myself here in out home but its small platforms here and there
the yearly ritual of getting things ready for the season. love it and cant wait to start. we still have 3 ft of snow on the ground and highs of 20 degrees and the forecast doesnt look to change anytime in the near future. not too uppitty about it as its been pretty dry the past few years so the moisture is welcomed. i just hope its not a repeat of 2011 flooding in the spring. good luck to all who've already started their seasons.
I really dig the relationship you and Eric have, you're a great mentor. Watching Eric struggle with the truck makes me want to start a GoFundme, not sure if that's too much.
Nothing can be appreciated like something that has been worked for. Gifts can be appreciated, but it's not the same. Let him work on a truck and put the time in. That's my opinion.
Eric asking "when am I seeing you next?" after dropping off the Mack was heart-warming. He wants to learn and he puts in the work. Really cool stuff to see, glad Ryan posts this content because I think it can make us all a bit better.
Hey Ryan, one of the many reasons I love your videos, is that they provide a huge insight into USA culture. I love the way you're going into shops and work places and restaurants and talking to people who are serving. It's similar to here in Australia, but different enough to be fascinating. The whole cold weather/snow/ice content is amazing. I really enjoyed the video about the urgent snow ploughing job you did the other day. $1500 US is about a million dollars here! Great work Ryan.
Ryan your a perfect example of a great boss someone would want, your like my boss man! Hard to come by not only good employees but good bosses who don't card just about the money
Yeah you're right I think he has to buy like that heavy-duty shelving from like a Home Depot or wherever they sell that heavy-duty green stuff we had it in our shop we bought it at a closeout building they sold everything light fixtures shelving I think it was a carpet place but in any case he definitely needs that heavy duty shelving you are correct
Investing in your equipment during the off season, is MONEY in your pocket !!!!!!!!! Breakdowns and repairs cost DOUBLE or TRIPLE in work losses during the busy season ! When I worked for my Dad (back in the day), he would never put any money back into the business but he would buy a BMW or a boat or a motorcoach for himself. So we had old tools, old trucks, old trailers. Always having blown tires and breakdowns, or getting to the jobsite and tools were broken or didnt work. I never understood it and it was so frustrating, I ended up (20 years ago) splitting off from his company and starting my own business. Best thing I ever did!
Hey Ryan! Found your channel last night and have just been binge watching ever since. Love your content and the hard work you put in not only to your company but also the channel. I think i speak for a lot of people when I say I love seeing regular hard working guys like yourself succeed on this platform next to gamers, filmmakers, etc.
Hello from Macedonia 🇲🇰 Great videos...i must admit that i cant go to sleep unless i see one vide from this addictive channel :) Keep the good work big BOSS !
Ryan your not kidding. It's far from cheap. I currently work as a fleet manager at a fuel company. We have 7 small vehicles from pickups to cars. Then about 20 straight trucks single axle. Then we have a duel. 3 small trailers. 9 tractors and 12 trailers that haul fuel to gas stations. The service, registration, fuel permits, repairs, vapor tests, and state inspections I often question at times how the heck do we make money. I just picked up one that cost us 37,000 for a transmission and it's just a spare. People don't realize how much heavy equipment cost.
Look at Ryan showing us a 45 minute drive can be done without distractions. This is one of many reasons why he is a great mentor 💯 unlike others who drink, eat Cheetos and talks on the phone while operating this heavy vehicle.
Bugs must be going well for himself if he can save up 4 cheques during off season im sure there not many hours on them since he only helps Ryan during the storms but good for bugs he’s killing it
Great errand run video. I guess I just like seeing you spend all your money! 🤣 Thank you for putting all the time and effort into making these videos for us to enjoy. I haven’t missed a single video or Short since I came across your channel when you were at 17K subscribers.
Been checking out your channel and your videos here this past week and loving the content and work ethic from another concrete contractor himself , over here in Apple creek Ohio (Zimmerly Concrete) planned to head to the Deco Crete expo if only I didn’t have plans that day 😔 love watching your videos but who likes to watch other people work ! Im always there for the funny moments and everyone loves to see people use other brands of equipment. Good luck in the concrete world, hope to meet you in the future, good relations always prosper to good memories.
I’m the same about keys. Man you really need an Apple air tag! It’s a tracking device not much fatter than a quarter. I have them on my dog, all my trailers, chop saw etc. life savers
Congratulations Ryan. Hard work and persistence is key to being successful. Your the definition of a leader. The way you took Eric under your wing as a mentor I congratulate you. Salute Sir.
Hey like your video lately I like the way you a Eric have fun and always laugh be honest did have anything against the other one but it got old after while. Look forward to season come up
I can’t wait to see what you guys have planned for the new season Ryan I know it’s gonna be a lot of hard work and a lot of fun I can’t wait to see your videos
Eric really needs to get that truck fixed before anything major happens. Thats a disaster waiting to explode. No telling what all is wrong with that thing.
Hey Ryan a little suggestion maybe in the description of the videos you can say when the video was recorded? Just give us a little insight to when stuff is happening and all that? I would personally enjoy seeing that date
Ryan has got so many skills it's interesting to watch. learn something. bring my self to learn new skills. Experience in some trades are great as you get older and want to do something your self.
As a business owner I know what keys are worth so I have a tile on it that’s the company name tracks down your keys from your phone or if you loose your phone track it with your keys! Great and handy device!
Ryan thanks for the great content Speaking of taxes don't forget the FET taxes when buying dump boxes, commercial vehicles , Ect... That dump box would have costed a lot less without FET 🤦
Ryan I hv a Toyota Tundra 2016 and I am a finish carpenter in Nor Calif I pay $500 every yrr registration fees! I hv to stay here a bit to take care of my parents then I am moving to live somewhere else! This State where I was born & very proud of is a total trashed out dump!

Robert from Canada eastcoast just wanted to say love your vids thanks for posting... looks like you need a fuel truck lol or a big tank in the back of a truck
That's one good thing about the E6 & E7 Series Mack engines . If the batteries are charged up & strong in winter the E6 & E7 series Mack engines will start right up without the assistance of starting fluid. & That DM Bulldog ( Mack) at 8:05 😎👍👍. Mack
Hey Ryan another great video. Hope that you have found your keys if not maybe check the Bobcats at the church the might be in one of them or could you have locked them in the shed???? any who here is hoping that you have found them and also praying that the Mack truck does not end up costing you a arm and a leg. But if it does atlest it will end up looking good lol. Talk to you soon and keep making that easyyyyyyyyyy moneyyyyyyyy
Ryan I think the important part of all these winter videos is how important maintenance and repair/replacement as well as upgrades are to a successful business. Equipment neglect is costly.
Especially if you can do the maintenance yourself. More $$$ in your pocket.
Yeah I love the contrast
Did you find your keys they might be in the Silverado
Most definitely! Preventative maintenance is one of the most important things to be successful. Can't do anything with broken equipment..
Couldn’t agree more. The excavation company I’m employed by has machines that nobody takes the time to maintain, always some sort of breakdown and downtime going on. Just today we’re talking about needing new GPS equipment for the bulldozer talk about a hefty bill

2 days in a row of content ! I miss this lol thanks Ryan have a great week! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Don’t pay the heavy highway tax. Tell them your truck identifies as a Prius 🤣🤣🤣
🤣
Funniest comment ever. Wouldn't surprise me nowadays
It has a battery, therefore you can conclude it’s an EV
Hahaha, now that was 😁 😂 😀 🤣

Perks of running a small business. The good side and the bad side. Thank you for showing us both sides Ryan.
I wouldn't look at this as a bad thing. It's winter and you just need your things to get serviced right
@@antonlifer4449 well, I’m speaking in general. His whole channel. He’s never just showing us the good stuff. He shows everything. That’s why I really like him.

The Winter shop needs a couple bays of Warehouse tier shelving to get all that stuff off the floor and organized.
