the tip about orbiting the container is a very important tip, and I really have to thank you for that one, lol I instead ended up orbiting the ship instead and got my kestrel down to 12% structure before I realized what I did, and then I managed to finish the abyssal from there. Thanks for your vids. I use it for T0 Gammas, changed the HIgh+Low slots to T2 and swapped the AB for the compact one in order to fit all in on an alpha clone. With Nova Fury its super easy to run and is far cheaper in the long run than using navy ammo. And the shield bonus of gammas is quite a nice safety net.
I just tried this! I got an easy 6 Million ISK from my first one. Also you can just sell the loot on the market for about the same price. So no hassle needed to go to a CONCORD station if you don't feel like it. Great video man thank you very much!! ❤

Big question... if you get killed in an Abyssal room, if you are quick enough (timer), can you fit a rescue ship, warp back to your filament, enter, loot your own wreck, mop up and get out?
New to eve, enjoying it so far. This looked like fun so i tried it. Maybe I didn't watch the video close enough, but I couldn't get past the Skybreaker Disparu Troop. It has high resistance and big shield regen. So I got walled, oh well here we go again
Can confirm: I ran into one of those clowns, and I did get through it with time for the other two rooms. But that required a LOT of overheating of my launchers, and if you hit a second Skybreaker room in the same instance, you may as well self-destruct. I did create a variant of this fit that uses rockets for higher overall DPS that should be able to get through the Skybreaker, but then the Devoted Hunter becomes the "death room" as kiting is impossible with rockets, and those things track so well that even orbiting at the very edge of rocket range is useless as you are still within optimal. In particular, if that thing gets a wrecking hit, half of your shields are gone, and you need to pull range to repair your shields, as even with heat, the shield boosters cannot sustain the DPS the Devoted Hunter can put out. I ran into the Devoted Hunter using the rockets, and while pulling range to heal, I flew straight out of bounds.
I tried this but I couldn't break through the skybreaker dps check. Since I'm skilled for light missiles, I think I'll try the breacher next. This kestrel worked wonders with some sub 5-minute clears up until then.

Happened to me once where I was able to beat the skybreaker after a while, but it took so long that I had like 1 minute for the last room. If I had like 20 extra seconds I could have escaped lol. I was so pissed when that happenned.
Yes!! This cheap ship easily does the T0 abyssals. One thing I could suggest is not buying all that expensive Caldari ammo. Instead buy the Gurista missiles. You'll have no problems, except if the Devoted Hunter makes you nervous keep 300 Caldari Mjolnir (electrial damage) in your bay just for him. Fly safe and thx Captain Uh, beware the Skybreaker! Geez, bring 100 Caldari Mjolnir missles (and stay out of the blue cloud). However, once you up your skills and get tech 2 launchers, fury missles you can get 132 DPS. At this point I can get away with the cheapest missiles on all but Devoted Knight and the Skybreaker. Kite outside their range
Great tutorial! One thing to add lol... Apparently there is an out of bounds..........I found out the hard way :( 4 missions in going great! shield not even half damaged by any of the enemies. First enemy I went to attack in the 4th run, locked on, started firing, I swear I orbited him too. tabbed out to search if the pirates advancing on me as I entered in the portal would kill me or if I could fight them when I'm out, ALARM going off. I got 2 shot by something. Turns out its the out of bounds :O

On my second to last room I got a skybreaker and he just shield regened a good portion of my damage. I think my dps was slightly under yours. I also went with ballistic control 2 because stats seemed better and were cheaper than the compact
died with this fit in my main (omega) to a devoted hunter dps race (t0 dark). my punisher (alpha) not only has better dps, but also better tanking and safe in t0 electrics. but the easiest day 1 i used is the t0 exotic corax. man that thing is easy mode and it costs like 7mil isk.
This is a great guide, are you running tranquil or calm dark filaments? I am doing tranquil darks but it seems that about two runs nets the same amount of ISK you made in this one run.
Yes, it fits the Breacher but doesn't quite work as well there. I prefer Brawling with rockets with the Breacher due to its bonuses, but this same fit (tweaked for slots) does work.

I had a kestrel on hand and most of the fittings, so I took it out for tranquil dark. It worked well for a couple of hours and I was liking it. But watch out for Skybreaker Disparu Troop. This edencom ship appeared alone in a room, and my kestrel couldn't break it's tank. I couldn't even get it down to half shields. So I lost it, and several rooms worth of loot. The kestrel didn't have the dps without a tech 2 launcher and missiles. I have the skills for a tech 2 launcher, but I have CPU issues. I'm going to try a tech 2 fit, though, mostly for interests sake as the corax will have plenty of dps to take down the Skybreaker.
Navy Hookbill is my favourite ship for T0 abysses. A little bit more expensive but x10 easier. Have tried T1 in a cheap fit. Died. Will try an expensive fit another time ;). Worm is too dangerous because of its price - shit happens with an electricity suply or internet connections and I am not ready to loose 200 mil because of that. Hookbil will cost about 60 mil + implants for 60 mil = twice cheaper t take a risk :))

I just tried this, but to hell with all those fancy modules. I bought loot grade T1 crap and ... it still works for less than 1mil fitting cost and the Kestrel was free.
@@captainbenzieYep. I found that out the hard way :) With 10mil loot in hold... and again with a better fit 4 runs later with another 10mil loot in hold. It's odd, but it's not always easy to predict just on the enemy type and room type. There are just some combinations that don't quite make it. That said, 2 losses so far and 1 of those was simply being cocky and getting caught out being sloppy. The other I ended up stale mate, NPC repped as fast as my DPS. Eventually after trying everything including dragging him out of bounds with me, I gave up and dropped sheilds to die :(
@@captainbenzieAnother lesson! In a dark room do NOT, I repeat do NOT spear head the red hashing out of bounds at 90* at full tilt... with another full bay of loot. Long story short. There isn't enough time to slow, turn and get back out before...
followed everything in the video, and got killed in the first room by 'sparklances', feel like there's a lot more you could cover for people new to eve cuz my shields lasted seconds with boosters turned on.
Abyssals always have an inherent risk, especially in frigates where you're technically supposed to go into them as a trio. That's built into the risk reward of them. You'll lose ships sometimes but should remain in profit overall.

From the Catskull Discord, you'll need to head to the Choose Your Role channel. From there, pick your roles and a load more channels appear including the corp app!
Good news! Punishers are better at Deadspace than Kestrels. Retribution is the king of low Tier abyss imo. Gunna put together a video for it myself as most other fits miss a lot of what I discovered a year or so ago.
The Kestrel IS the best looking Caldari ship. The original Manticore was based on the Kestrel design....then CCP redesigned it...angering my Caldari SB pilot alt 🔥😠
Didn't work for me. exact fit, 70M SP, tranquil dark filament, popped my kestrel like a grape. Ship is cheap, but as a first timer I should have switched to a clone w/ cheaper implants. pew pew phail face, eve is life
Everything is the same, even I used 2 "Crosslink Compact Ballistic Control Systems". Other than that, everything is the same, but I couldn't figure out the reason for my dps being 72.2.
A lot of Abyssals is about how you fly, so you need to make sure that you're flying well, not just undocking a fit and hoping. @@captainbenzie that referral code is only for new accounts it seems. I have an old f2p account with about 5 million sp. I figured out I was trying to do calm instead of tranquil wormholes. I assume for calm you need good skills, full t2, and a faction or t2 ship to do it.
@@jon9590 hmm, referral code should work for older accounts too. I used one on my 26m SP account. Just have to click "I already have an account" and log in. As for Calms,.I run them solo in a Worm, my Hawk, and mostly T2s. You can run Calms with T1s in a fleet easily for good ISK.
I wish you TH-camrs who claim day 1 alpha with 1 million skill points would actually demonstrate these fits with a day one alpha with only 1 million skill points. Running this fit into Pyfa with skills at all V you get 95 dps, not very far off from your demonstration with 90 dps. Just a little disingenuous.

All Abyssal Deadspaces can be run by frigates or destroyers too, you need two filaments for a destroyer, three for a frigate, but it multiplies the loot by the number of filaments used. You'll need to be in a fleet, but you can be in a fleet by yourself and enter solo. Great way to make ISK!
I jump on my alt now and again to do this and have always been succesfull, until today. First room...Skybreaker Disparu Troop...spent 20 minutes trying to break its shields...and failed. Any suggestions ?
Make sure you have the DPS and consider overheating. It may be a skill issue but that's a tough room - if you lose to that room every time you may find it still worth it to run this cheap fit if you're making profit beyond.
yeah...i lose every time in that room, but luckily it doesnt come up too often. I am now trying your corax fit. still losing in that room until I get skill up to overheat.

Yeah you MUST have a minimum of 120 DPS to clear that room. Breacher can be a lot of fun, but tends to work better with rockets than lights.

You can try with Standard Ammo but you do run the risk of not being able to beat the battleships in time if you get those rooms.

This fit unfortunatly did not work for me, first room had a skybreaker and could not break his sheilds, what did i do wrong? used em rockets as his sheild was week to it but nothing. did not work.
Make sure to overheat the rockets. The Skybreaker is probably your toughest room.

No, just luck. Make sure you're selling the loot at CONCORD Stations too to get max.
I just tried this, but to hell with all those fancy modules. I bought loot grade T1 crap and ... it still works for less than 1mil fitting cost and the Kestrel was free.
Lower grade will die in certain rooms but for the cost, I guess you accept some losses as part of the cost.
@@captainbenzieYep. I found that out the hard way :) With 10mil loot in hold... and again with a better fit 4 runs later with another 10mil loot in hold.
It's odd, but it's not always easy to predict just on the enemy type and room type. There are just some combinations that don't quite make it. That said, 2 losses so far and 1 of those was simply being cocky and getting caught out being sloppy. The other I ended up stale mate, NPC repped as fast as my DPS. Eventually after trying everything including dragging him out of bounds with me, I gave up and dropped sheilds to die :(
@@captainbenzieAnother lesson! In a dark room do NOT, I repeat do NOT spear head the red hashing out of bounds at 90* at full tilt... with another full bay of loot.

Yes. But the different Filaments cost different amounts so the PROFIT varies.

You have to to be able to use the three filaments and enter as a frigate.
followed everything in the video, and got killed in the first room by 'sparklances', feel like there's a lot more you could cover for people new to eve cuz my shields lasted seconds with boosters turned on.
Abyssals always have an inherent risk, especially in frigates where you're technically supposed to go into them as a trio. That's built into the risk reward of them. You'll lose ships sometimes but should remain in profit overall.

I can’t seem to get permission to do anything in the Catskull discord which means I have been rejected from Catskull in EO… not sure how to join your merry band in EO but advice would be appreciated haha
From the Catskull Discord, you'll need to head to the Choose Your Role channel. From there, pick your roles and a load more channels appear including the corp app!

Good news! Punishers are better at Deadspace than Kestrels. Retribution is the king of low Tier abyss imo. Gunna put together a video for it myself as most other fits miss a lot of what I discovered a year or so ago.
The Kestrel IS the best looking Caldari ship. The original Manticore was based on the Kestrel design....then CCP redesigned it...angering my Caldari SB pilot alt 🔥😠
Yup, and I do love the Manticore. For me, whilst I love the Kestrel, the Hawk/Merlin does beat it, as far as frigates go. And then there's the Tengu 😅

Didn't work for me. exact fit, 70M SP, tranquil dark filament, popped my kestrel like a grape. Ship is cheap, but as a first timer I should have switched to a clone w/ cheaper implants. pew pew phail face, eve is life

Everything is the same, even I used 2 "Crosslink Compact Ballistic Control Systems". Other than that, everything is the same, but I couldn't figure out the reason for my dps being 72.2.

Overheat the missiles
These are too hard. I have tried 3 times now and the enemy does way too much damage. Even with the fits I find.
A lot of Abyssals is about how you fly, so you need to make sure that you're flying well, not just undocking a fit and hoping. I've got a full guide on my community discord and a load of folks who will be happy to help teach.

@@captainbenzie that referral code is only for new accounts it seems. I have an old f2p account with about 5 million sp. I figured out I was trying to do calm instead of tranquil wormholes. I assume for calm you need good skills, full t2, and a faction or t2 ship to do it.
@@jon9590 hmm, referral code should work for older accounts too. I used one on my 26m SP account. Just have to click "I already have an account" and log in.
As for Calms,.I run them solo in a Worm, my Hawk, and mostly T2s. You can run Calms with T1s in a fleet easily for good ISK.
If you copy this guide you will die as soon as you run into a skybreaker room 😅.

I wish you TH-camrs who claim day 1 alpha with 1 million skill points would actually demonstrate these fits with a day one alpha with only 1 million skill points. Running this fit into Pyfa with skills at all V you get 95 dps, not very far off from your demonstration with 90 dps. Just a little disingenuous.
Nothing disingenuous at all. You really want me to set up a brand new account and roll JUST the skills every time? I'm showing a fit that I know works with basic skills. The fact that my numbers are higher doesn't change anything

You are doing an excellent job - including your mistakes (like double adding drone damage to the total, positively hilarious) You have excellently narrated and edited videos, which is hard to do - had to help my wife do it for a class of hers - total pain in the ass. I say right at the beginning that this isn't a complete guide to Abyssal Deadspaces in general, rather a guide for a ship you can use in them.
Am I missing something here. Tranquil dark filament is for cruiser. Kestrel is a frigate ?
All Abyssal Deadspaces can be run by frigates or destroyers too, you need two filaments for a destroyer, three for a frigate, but it multiplies the loot by the number of filaments used. You'll need to be in a fleet, but you can be in a fleet by yourself and enter solo. Great way to make ISK!

I jump on my alt now and again to do this and have always been succesfull, until today. First room...Skybreaker Disparu Troop...spent 20 minutes trying to break its shields...and failed. Any suggestions ?
Make sure you have the DPS and consider overheating. It may be a skill issue but that's a tough room - if you lose to that room every time you may find it still worth it to run this cheap fit if you're making profit beyond.
yeah...i lose every time in that room, but luckily it doesnt come up too often. I am now trying your corax fit. still losing in that room until I get skill up to overheat.
