Tip: Dont turn off your mirco-warpdrive if your orbit gets to wide for your turrets or your tracking isnt quite fast enough. Instead use the speed meter in the central hud to limit your speed to, say 2/3 or so. Simply click in the speed window, and use the "+" symbol to the right of it to set your speed back to full. In most cases this is enough to get full damage. After some time you will find sweetspots for your fit. Even at most BS like Karen keep it running , because of slow missiles(or whatever they are), they do hurt if they catch you. And "Keep Range" works wonders at initial engagement to keep pestering tackler at bay. But you have to pay attention to your transversal to the bigger ships when using it.
Very good advice! The only reason I don't mention it is the nuance. There comes a point where if you slow down enough, the bloom outweighs the speed bonus. But yes, great tip!!
Love the retri but it doesn't need that much bling to run a t2. With just faction resists and repper, around 120m fit and otherwise max skills, it runs t2's fairly easily. Cut it close on time a couple times but never lost it. For the 700m+ range I'm 100% going guila.
@shadowpowahful no it's more than that. More like 12 mil but 760 mil is a ridiculous cost for a ship to do T2s in. You don't need to bling this ship to that extent to do these... And even if you did it would be a crazy thing to do. One disconnect or one real life situation that you have to deal with and you've lost like 12 hours of grinding. You can do T4s in a Gila for less money than this and make 30mil per run.
Yeah I usually only farm with ships that cost at best a whole hour of that farming. T6 you can easily excuse a 350m ship but down at T2 if your ship is worth more than 50m don't bother lol.
@@penelo9114 cheap T6 ships are like 1 billion plus 1.5 billion of implants. Vagabond can be cheaper or you could probably do electricals for cheap but the filaments cost 50mil each. When you make 500mil per hour though having a setup cost of 2-3 billion isn't too bad. You might not lose your ship for 20 hours and you'd have made 7 billion profit.
I use a dual small armour repper vengeance for T1 gammas. Works like a dream. I don't think it could do T2 gammas without a huge price increase; faction launchers, deadspace reppers and resists and a ton of pyrolancia and paste because you'll be overheating the whole time. The vengeance's problem is the lack of damage. You get two photic overminds in a row and then kikimoras, you'll run out of time. Worth a try, though.
That is a really blingy fit. Not sure I'd risk ~750m against devoted abyss rats. I used to run these in a 500m Nergal which was great until it wasn't. I do like your excellent use of English in your vids. This is Eve, details matter.
I run T2 firestorms in a Nergal, also around 500 mill. I preroll a standard exile because you'll die if you don't. Biggest dangers are neuters, vedmaks, scyllas, knights, elite cynabals etc. Haven't lost mine yet, but I'm sure I will.😂
what's insane about Amarr laser boats is how much overlap you have between "long range" beam lasers and "short range" pulse lasers. Your beam fit has 360 dps at 9km optimal, my pulse laser II fit has 412 dps at not much shorter 6km optimal and 9km falloff with Conflag crystals, while still getting 255 dps at 17 km optimal with Scorch, so as long as you don't need to shoot from further than 20, you only need those 2 sets of crystals - and the MWD is giving you the range control you need. Add the single-second switching of crystals...
just saw your optimal / falloff with Gleam is less than a kilometer more than mine with Conflag. Really close call between pulse lasers and beam lasers.
I really enjoy the punisher style body. I understand you dont like enery turrets and next to an autocannon or missle i get it totally!! "The cap is real" That said i actally like a lot of the Hulls from the Amarr. I just get a skin because the bone and gold look is kind of ugly. I agree on that.
Haven't used a Retri yet, but I will, not that expensive, though. Btw, Crash gives you missile explosion radius bonus. I would also take along Aurora if you're doing beams. The main advantage of mwd and beams is the ability to keep range on everything. Edit, I would also preroll a standard exile with a fit that expensive.
It's just ludicrous. Not even faster than t2 fit and you'll struggle with the same spawns. Faction turrets are not benefiting from specialization skill and all that bling not to even match t2 dps is just dumb. What's even more tragic is you'll complete like 2-3 tier 1 runs in the same amount of time.
Faction turrets benefit from the skills. Or more accurately, no "turret" benefits from the skills, it applies to the ammo. As for Crash, yes, I meant Hardshell. 😅
@@captainbenzie Small Beam Laser Specialization: Specialist training in the operation of small Beam Lasers. 2% bonus per skill level to the damage of small turrets requiring Small Beam Laser Specialization. Great video as ever. I love the Retribution and can smash T1's all day long and would easily complete the T2 in your video. What you don't cover though is a room where you get cap-neuted by one or more than one ship - once this happens in a T2 I get wasted. Suggestions?
Thanks. So target priority is the key. I guess I do sometimes panic and forget about that in T2's. They seem a massive leap in difficulty from T1's. I even lost a 1B ISK Zealot in a T2 - couldn't believe it but that was caused by neuts too ☹☹. Great videos btw please keep them coming and thx for the 1 million skill points 👍👍@@captainbenzie
Its a solid video and a good build for what you are trying to do but a frigate that cost 3/4 of a billion is a little crazy, the break even is roughly 56 T2 abyssal runs and that with an unrealistic zero operating cost and getting the filaments for free. So this does work but if your goal is to turn a profit when you step up to T2s I personally think its time for a cruiser or team mates/multiboxing because the frigates that can run T2s its generally more profitable to do T1s faster.
This, like most videos on my channel, is absolutely not intended to be a "this is the way" video. I'm all about having fun in whatever ship you enjoy, whether or not it's the best option. Think of this as a "can it be done?" rather than "should it be done". Hence me ratting C3 anomalies in a Panther, for example.
@@captainbenzie oh ya and I get that like I said this does what it's intended to do I just wanted to say it for anyone who might be new to abyssals that this is a for fun thing but not a good way to make isk because it would take you 8-10 hours to brake even with something this blinged out.
Ever since they made the changes to add angels and sanshas and the like their are too many rare but near impossible rooms for most assault frigs to handle anymore solo T2, at least not easily and consistently enough. Makes me sad as it used to be a way I would make quick cash when I didn't want to take any risks like I have to when running T5's or the like.
