Great video. Nobody really breaks this stuff down like you are. Maybe you could talk about the first 1million skill points you get for people coming from Eve Echos to Eve Online.
I stopped flying missile boats in abyssals. Trying to stay at 30+ km from an enemy means you'll sooner or later fly into the barrier and ... meep-meep-ding ... you're in a clone. It's like trying to play tennis in a wardrobe.
I personally run a lot of T0 abyss with a polarized rocket kestrel. It’s completely overkill but I enjoy running T0 as a comfortable chill event. I started with a T0 capable light missile corax while I skilled more into the kestrel rockets
@@jobell5751 you need up to 3 Tranquil filaments of the same type of your choice (based on cruiser, destroyer, frigate) and be in a .8 system in space. Also in order to open it you have to be in a fleet with yourself if not in a cruiser. Benzie has a good video from a little while back talking about how to do all of this safely and in detail
Great video! I was looking into the Kestrel for Abysalls, but ended up with the Tristan simply becouse I love drones and the Tristan itself. As a form of constructive criticism, and maybe it's just me, but to me the music sometimes feels too loud and makes it slightly harder to hear you properly. Tuning that down just a tiny bit would make the videos even more amazing and bring them closer to perfection!
I originally started frigate dark abyssals with a light missile kestrel. That ship is so stupid in there, it's wonderful. You can hit anything from anywhere while outrunning missiles and gun tracking, but if you so much as see a white cloud while your mwd is on, you go careening out of bounds at 37000 m/s. It's a lot of fun, but if you've got a logi or brawler friend with you, they will hate your guts for flying off to Timbuktu with all the enemies.
Would love to see what you could do for an Alpha Bellicose build sometime. I have been trying to cross your info from this into the Bellicose but so far it is so so..
I would say lasers are the best for new players as you will not forget ammo and you can learn the basic's Frist before going in to all the way the different attacks work lol attest that's the route I went still a huge noob tho
I started with lasers and think it was a good choice. I got lucky and was given 50m so I saved a bit more and got a harby. It’s been tough coming from echoes because I’m not used to empire-skilling and want every ship lol
Thanks for the video. Didn't know this was coming. I have an old army that is/will go nuts for this. I have some of the attack wing stuff. How do the ships compare to them?
I was thinking about playing eve online e again. So nervous to figure out what state my Carrier is in. And my concern is is that no one's gonna want a person who plays casual. And yes I have not forgotten eve is life lol.
I really didn't expect it but I'm loving rockets. The high reliable close range damage was a big departure from using light missiles and projectiles. Such a shame the greatest majority of missile-equipped ships I can't get over Mastery 1. As PvP is mostly a matter of gear-check after the initial "pick your fights" filter, it hurts knowing that even if the both of you have the same kit, there is a potential 40% offset in damage output between you.
The Merlin is a hybrid turret user in both games, but I don’t suggest using it in echos as its one of the worst ships as its tech 2 if I remember, you get that skill within your first few minutes.
Hey Captain, I recently had a question about which Cruiser would be the best for like all combat purposes (Mostly PvE but maybe sometimes PvP aswell). I wanted to choose between a Caracal or a Vexor, Can you help me decide which cruiser would be the best according to its Defense type and Weapons it uses?
I may not be the captain, but I personally like the Vexor for pve, and the caracal for pvp. The Vexor is basically a smaller Ishtar, which is widely considered the best cruiser for ratting, key word, widely. The caracal has the bonus of missile damage selection, but I still feel like the Vexor is better for pve, but the Vexor uses drones in combat, these will be targets for your opponents as they know that drones are your best source of damage, if your drones get killed, then there goes all of your dps.
Actually, to correct this if you pull up the fittings window and go to simulate fit, you can load ammo into the weapon and it will show you your range when hovering over the loaded weapon
One thing new players should know is missiles have an "explosion radius" and anything with a signature smaller than that radius will take less damage. it's why torpedoes seem weak against small ships. they actually are very strong but are meant for things much bigger.

Just getting started in Eve online. Great videos learning alot. Currently doing some mining/exploration

Manual piloting helps, and you can always use rockets 😉
Manual pilot plus orbit the gate or the silos

I need this video, I just starting training up my missile skills. Hybrids maxed, so missile time.
Going full Caldari? Nice!

Use salvage drones with the breacher. You don't have lock on with those. You just hit f as you kill stuff
Maybe this will stop my from losing Gilas in Abyssals. 😂
Thanks as always for the informative video.
Where ARE you? That intro location was INSANE. Like an astral pillar froze a quarter second into an explosion?
That, my friend, is an Abyssal Deadspace!! One of my favourite bits of content in EVE Online!

Missle ships are great for beginners pvp

Same on being a casual player! Haven’t found a Corp yet either. Mostly playing faction warfare (trust in rust).
Thank you! Super helpful!
Love it. Deathblossom kestrel

Hi great video :) Could you please me what music it is you are playing in the beginning of the vid? It sounds really nice!
It's called "Black Neon" by Imprismed - it's licensed via Epidemic Sound
@@captainbenzie Thx so much for answer. That's very nice of you:) And thx for all the great content you make.
Is the Merlin still a railgun based ship for caldari? I absolutely LOVE the ships design and wanna fly it in EO

Yup 🤦♂️ I swear some people watch my videos muted
@@captainbenzie I believe it's more likely comments made just a minute or two before you get to that info.
