People are failing to mention that Rams gameplan was literally to shut down Amon-Ra and Laporta and make the others beat us. Had nothing to do with their performances, they were blanketed with coverage, that's why the couldn't contain Jamo
Im glad you pointed this out. They overprepared for LaPorta and St. Brown. They didn't believe the hype of Jamo. Which is absurd since hes faster than Tyreek... So, they disregarded him. Therefore, he ate up. Lion's have too many weapons. At this point, I trust all the receivers to make plays. Someone will always be open. If not, Gibbs and Monty will drive all ball up the middle or sideline.
The lesson here is that the Lions beat a very good team. Not some chumps. early season games are usually a bit messy. They did it without utilizing their biggest threats. Was it perfect? No? If they can win while not perfect against another playoff level team, then thats a good sign.
I feel better that we won, and would have been sad with a loss, which seems almost equally as likely as what happened, but boy howdy did they keep the pressure and holy fuck is Stafford in his final form. Scary motherfucker. Aaaand he still lost. And it must CHAP his ASS that he doesn't get a chance to rematch it for a long time. Your last point is an incredible one that I hadn't considered. There was some clunk in there and it still ended with a win. Imagine what we can accomplish with a lack of clunk, or against a team that COULDN'T beat us.
This is why this team is dangerous.. It's a TEAM, there's many ways to beat you.. I'm a Lions fan and I'm not worried bout SunGod, Sam, Jahmyr or Hutch at all they have some rust because of the starters basically not playing at all during PreSeason like you said. This team will be dangerous as long as guys stay healthy and we have Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson calling the plays I think we'll be just fine. A W is a W and it's not like we were playing some bums.
You should've whooped us..2 players missing in the secondary and 4 starting o-line missing.. these are the kinda games that build killer instinct.. like Pete Carroll Seahawks..
I never would have thought I’d see a lions Super Bowl in my lifetime, this team is stacked. This might be our only chance. I’m optimistic this year for our Pride.
Our D won this game for us I want our fans to start recognizing our D is better than people think. AG deserves more credit we may have let up alot of yards last year but we hold teams down as far as points. Everyone says our O is elite which I find hard to believe we go quarter's without scoring and when we could have put the Rams away we go 3 n out, int and 3 out if Goff doesn't get picked we held the Rams to 13 and idc if they had 300 plus yards passing they should have because they passed the ball 49 times. I hope our O becomes what everyone thinks it is because Goff almost lost us that game
These Lions is SICK AND TIRED of being a losing team. I mean SICK AND TIRED. ANYTHING GOES at this point. Hopefully they learn from they baseball counterparts with caution so as to NOT become a modern tragedy.
Big lions fan so I watch anything I find. Found this I thought you were informative and entertaining. Made me watch it all. Great points!! Stafford is so underrated. Just about any other quarterback would’ve been a different game. ( watch next week). Stafford had to get rid of the ball in less than 2.5 seconds. This dl is gonna be as good as the ol. Dj reader next week!
I will always be a fan of your show, Howard and Woodson won Super bowls with your team. But you are one of very few, and I don't do many Lions podcast. You are honest, and I really appreciate that. I wish you the best in the future, except against the Lions.
Love you too buddy, takes some nuts to be a packers fan and put out these hype videos for the lions, props to you being unbiased. Sorry, still gotta say FTP, but keep up the good work and good videos bro
It's funny. Last year, it took a long time for me to believe in the Lions after so many years of failure. And I was really critical of them when everyone else was rah rah Lions. This year, I thought this was a great win for them, and I hear a lot of others being hyper critical of them.
Lions are a team. Rams are kinda one or 2 good players. This is why Stafford and lions were losers. Paid 100 mil to him, got no $ left to get other good players. I like what I see with current lions. Never felt like this for 40 years.
300 yards from 49 attempts against 2 1st game CB's. While both DE's for DET were being held, tripped and facemasked in any attempt to keep them off Stafford and got away with it. Now thats also taking away from the fact that Stafford is an absolute beast on regular days let alone in a game that he had so much pent up desire for revenge in. Maybe 5 other QB's in the league couldve got the ball around as well as Stafford did under the pressure he was copping in this game. So I'd be giving props to Stafford way more than potting Detroit for the 300 yards.
The story here is that the Lions barely beat the Rams, who for most of the game was missing 4 of 5 starting lineman, a starting cornerback, and Puka..... it went to OT and was basically decided by a coin toss because both offenses were rolling. They won and they deserve credit but if i was a lions fan i wouldnt walk away from that game feeling great about it.
I gotta say carlton looked pretty bad. Yeah he made some tackles but he gave up two touchdowns due to poor coverage. He was one of the worse corners in week 1 so hopefully he improves instead of ending up as another cam sutton.
This was basically a preseason game..both teams didnt play most starters in the preseason..it was a good week1 game to watch..it was very physical on both sides..
People are failing to mention that Rams gameplan was literally to shut down Amon-Ra and Laporta and make the others beat us. Had nothing to do with their performances, they were blanketed with coverage, that's why the couldn't contain Jamo
This!
I literally thought he wasn't in the game and was surprised to see him on camera.
Nice to know we can survive on our depth.

@@schultzy5087they were missing Kendrick and William CB.. they did the best they could outmaned..both sides of the ball . still took them to OT..
I call BS Brown was double teamed! Jamo exposed the Rams and you got a LOSS . That game is over!
They need to start calling more holding penalties on whoever is blocking Hutchinson! He is still getting mugged with no calls. 🙄
It was crazy, he was held every single play it looked like
You ain't lying, Hutch was getting held more than dude in the county with no bond!
"I'm a packers fan".....insert meme..."You sure about that!" ... lol love your stuff brother. appreciate the love.

Amazing lions content as always bro 👍🏻
Much appreciated!

Detroit v Everybody!! I’ve waited my whole ass life to see the Lions like this! Let’s goooo Lions! 🦁 💙 313
I like the idea of keeping Monty fresh to close it out in the 4th quarter.
he’s in my fantasy i was worried the whole 2nd half that he wasn’t in
Love all the love you show for the Lions, Wil. Great videos dude, keep it up!

Dan Campbell is Jeff Bridges in true grit
@@gestapostomp21 he's the Dude, man.

Compare illegal formation penalties all over the legal last year vs this year. Was a rough week for all.
Wil you need more Detroit Lions videos, love them.. Change your logo to honolulu blue and silver and you'll have subs rolling in... Trust Me
Hahaha
The Lions are hungry this year!

Against Tampa it would be wise to throw it a lot. Tampa's secondary is decimated with injuries. I bet our receiving core gets a nice stat boost.

1 sack 8 pressures on backups and backups of backups lmao.
Lions vs everyone,a win is a win, facts over racks 💯
They won 2 out 3 preseason games without their starters not even playing, yeah, I say we go make it all the way this year!
Football season is back baby!
#GoLions!
had to take that zyn out... legend. Go Lions!

No that 2014 team had everything Stafford needed to win it all and he still choked.
Stafford with 1 leg threw for 400 yards on them in their house think about that

You get that Laporta jersey yet or you waiting until the Superbowl?
LFG🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁
Not to worry. The league will just have the refs make a bunch of horrendous calls against the Lions and that will be that.

Carlton Davis Had almost a 70 PFF rating… a solid CB

Lions keep going CONSERVATIVE second half. Might as well let Hooker have a series or two to mix it up. Hendon knows how to hand off to Monty
