I know they haven't made it to a Superbowl yet or anything but as a Lions fan of 30 years it really does make me emotional to see us start to finally have some kind of sustained success and get some respect around the league and in the media.
Same.....very emotional. Finally having a team owned, managed, and operating the "right" way is incredible. I'm very thankful to be able to see this in my lifetime. My grandfather always said he'd never see another good Lions football team in his lifetime, but that he hoped we'd get to see one, one day.
Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes were hired in within 4 days of each other in January 16th - 20th, 2021 - This was the day our team started the first REAL rebuild. How does one not feel so much joy and emotion they shed a tear when we make insane plays after so many years of failure in all aspects of our team over the years.
I love this team so damn much. Gone are the days when you’re only watching for Barry and you’re only buying Calvin’s jersey. I love every single player on this team’s roster man. Those guys play their hearts out every single game. I never would’ve imagined when Dan said the team would embody the city, he really meant it. They beat the shit out of every team they play. They’re a physical mismatch against every team in the league right now. They really punch every team in the mouth. Two years ago, week 18, Seattle kicked Detroit out the playoffs giving those Lions nothing to play for but pride that night when they went into Lameau. I know I’m not the only Lions fan that decided not to tune into that game, at first. Something told me to turn it on.. I rewatched that game two nights ago after work. I was smiling cheek to cheek the whole game. When St Brown pitched it to Swift on 3rd down to set up the 4th and 1. Williams was plowing through that Packers defense all night. That amazing rollout Goff had to drop the ball into Raymond’s hands at the 1. I think tonight I’ll rewatch the KC game from last year. I eat, sleep and breathe one pride right now. These guys give me faith I never had in the Lions before. We will make our first Super Bowl this year. And we’ll win it too. I cannot wait to go on my balcony and scream at top of my lungs after Goff holds up that Lombardi. I can’t wait to make eye contact with strangers in public and know the reason we’re both smiling is because our Lions finally got over the hump. These last 2 and half years have been the funnest years of my Lions fandom. I don’t even watch other NFL games anymore, this team completely gives me my fix every week.

I am a life long Bears fan, and the Lions were snake bitten for a long time. I remember Billy Sims, Barry Sanders of course, but I am Happy for the Lions fans you truly deserve to finally have a legitimate team that can win a Superbowl.
