I took the side panel off my PRL intake on my DE5 and it sounds fairly similar, which is quite a bit louder than with the side panel on. Obviously for warmer weather it's probably nice to have the enclosed box but the extra noises you get from a more open box on this car just makes it so much more fun.
@BrosFOURRSpeed Why would the intake need to be made in carbon fiber? Are you shaving off some weight? Better heat shielding? Because weight or dollar just doesn't make sense. Is it for bling? If it's for bling, then that's subjective. You are saying that it's for sound. It's ofc louder because it's an opened design. Here is the drawback though, FL5 engine compartment is so tight that it's gonna get the heat from other components. You'd on IAT to be as low as possible as this aint it.

this intake is louder than the PRL because its not an enclosed box. Now performance wise, the PRL is definitely better with more direct airflow and louder than OEM. The oem is way too quiet.
@@ronniedawkins2537In getting the same intake temps as the PRL. This car runs hot and gets 40 degree above ambient even with the PRL. So since Armaspeed looks better and sounds better. I take that as a win 😎
Hello Guys since you have had the some of the Intakes that I have been looking into including the RamAir intake which AHC integra has on and that is similar to the ArmaSpeed . I'm Between the ArmaSpeed & RamAir & PRL .. which one do you think would be best for balance of performance & sound... you have had 2 of the 3 i like..what you guys opinion
Very nice sounds for sure BUT curious why they chose to leave the inside of the intake box unfinished ? I know its under the hood but aesthetically it leaves a little something to be desired.

Quick question, how does this FL5 compare to the 8Y rs3?! I know they’re different in a lot of ways but in your opinion what’s better. I’m torn between both for my next purchase
That won't happen. Even in my old GTR I had the twin intakes where the filters sat behind the grille. You need to literally submerge the air filter in water for an issue to happen. With this design, there is zero water that could ever make it into the filter area. Not even a drop of rain. I'd have to drive through 3ft of water for an issue to happen
All fun choices! Type-R is much better than the WRX. Way better handling and driving feel and more comfforbtale. M3 is a beast and is my ideal choice one day!

They add power on some cars with no thing. Depends on how the ECU is setup. Turbo cars will benefit from an intake once tuned. Also I've been doing intakes for 15 years and they never make anything dirty
Yeah I know. But for me, since its the intake that was on it when I bought the car, it will be the intake I leave on the car in the future when I put the car back to stock and sell it. Armaspeed intake is worth more so I'd make more money selling that part separately then leaving the Armaspeed on the car and sell sign the PRL outright.

Armaspeed is significantly louder. And has the same intake air temps. And looks better being carbon fiber. So I’m definitely happy with the change

Yeah not sure. It's kinda cool how one side is raw carbon and the other in finished carbon
