It is still baffling how these guys managed to survive as a species. What with the mothers unfortunate tenancies towards eating their own eggs... ...and their seemingly sole defense mechanism being some kind of dance that mimics a full on seizure. Well, as the immortal Jeff Goldbloom once said: Life finds a way. *Yes, I know it was Sam Neil, but they have a poster of Jeff right there!
Female emus are aggressive like Karen. They're all that way. The male is the more docile. He also is the one who incubates the eggs and raises the kids...alone. the female goes off, looking for hook-ups and laying eggs whenever she finds a suitable one night stand, 😅. Seriously, that's how emus are.
Awwww, how sweet!!! I love that they have no clue what to do with their legs. Adorable. Thanks for sharing. (The lady from Egg Protective Services looked familiar)
Amanda, I just loved the baby pics of Glenn & Janet! I am fascinated by the whole Emu saga and could watch for hours! Who knew I'd love it so much? I sure didn't expect to. Stanley & Karen stole my heart but seeing 2 n Glenn & Janet just put me over the Emuu top. Did I spell Emu correctly? 2 u's like Glenn or one? Who cares? Love to all there at Useless Farm!
It's more than I ever remember seeing from Emus at Royal Melbourne Zoo, and Healeville Sanctuary. They mostly stood around minding their own business, making that thrumming sound, or checked out anything that looked maybe edible.
Honey if ya haven't ever watched Mad TV you need to look it up on here and watch Stewart ...when he says "LOOK WHAT I CAN DO" I swear he moves like an emu..lmao
Just great big fluffy bird-kittens with murder toes. They're adorable. Thanks for the origin story, especially having your hand beside the hatchling for size reference. Looks about the size of an adult California Quail when they are fresh out of the shell.
Aww what an adorable story 😍 I also enjoyed the interpretive dance session at the end. It is clear to see that Janet and Glenn are following in dad Stanley’s footsteps.
Awww.. What a great history of Janet and Glenn!! It was really great seeing them meet up finally with Stanley and Karen the terrible!! Geez, Karen can't even give her babies a break! This is really great! Thanks for this!!
Looks like they're both still learning how to use their legs, but Janet has learned her mother's hiss quite well. Thank goodness she hasn't learned the attack that normally goes with Karen's hiss! 😂
This what's a great story! An excellent bedtime story!😊 Now, I feel I know so much about Emu's...!!! One thing I would really like to know , why do they appear to keep falling down? Or is it they're going to lie down ... but they change their mind real quickly??? They're So Graceful too !!!😊 LOL God bless everyone at Useless Farm!!!
Janet and Glenn, I could watch them all day. Their dance of the Emus could give The National Ballet of Canada a run for their money. Such beauty. Such grace.🥺
Just like all babies, they all love to run and play. Truly a miracle and this is without any of the parents involvement whatsoever. They are adorable. Thanks Amanda🫶🏻
That is some of the zaniest behavior I have ever watched! They're like living cartoons and I wish I had the courage, space and dollars to do this. The comedic way you deliver it all is genius so BIG THANKS! ❤😂🎉😂❤
So cool! Loved seeing the babies at all different ages! So interesting to see them interacting with their parents for the first time too! Never even considered that emus could get the zoomies! 😆Just love your videos! They always make me smile and lift my spirit! I have no idea how you are able to take such good care of all those animals and still make time for creating videos, but I’m glad you do! Thank you for making this world a better place for all of us! ❤️😊
Amazing! They made it to one year without being pecked, stomped, scratched, etc, by Karen! Actually, I found this fascinating. Thanks for compiling the Birth of an Emu and sharing it with us. Definitely as epic as Birth of a Nation. ❤
So happy they all finally met! 😊 Karen was a lot less violent than I expected. Just a little bit of "Stanley is my property, stay away from him" and "I'm the alpha, just so that we're clear" but no disembowelling or high kicks or anything!
What adorable babies! So neither one has attacked you like Karen does? I love it when they dance! Reminds me of me getting off a cruise ship and still having “sea legs”! Thank you for the share! ♥️
Heaven forbid! It's bad enough that they have Karen's genetic tendencies towards violence. The last thing you want is to allow Karen to train them as well.
First, no farm is useless! Lol I love watching Emus run around. They always look like they're on a bad acid trip and they keep seeing things that aren't there but scare them to death.lol
I doubt it. The males might in nature because the males raise them. The female emu has nothing to do with her babies. She lays the eggs and leaves, lol. The male incubates them alone and also raises them by himself.
Now I can't help but wonder if the dinosaurs ran around all dorky like that.
I was thinking the same thing! Perhaps some birds/dinosaurs evolved smaller forlimbs, as they'd be in the way of this sort of kicking play.
I will forever picture velociraptors frolicking through interpretive dances to music only they can hear 😂
Definately.
Same thoughts. 😂
Same!
Wow. They’ve been working on their interpretive dance choreography since birth😮
Abso-freaking-lutely they are my favorite Candadian Ice Dancing Couple! ❤
Now you have a pack of velociraptors. They’re pack hunters, Amanda. What have you done?!😂
I thought of Jurassic Park, the original, where they come out when Nedey's car gets stuck.
🤣😆😝
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Karen is not prepared for the devotion of her offspring to Amanda 😂😂
I'm picturing Chris Pratt in Jurassic World
Karen had one question for the kids, "are you prepared to kill that lady over there that's holding the camera . . . nope, k bye". 😂😂😂
😂 🤘🏼
Cracking up!
😂😂truth 💯
They remind me of "Stuart" on "Mad TV", remember him? "Wanna see what I can do?" 🤣🤣🤣
I say this Every Time! "Look what I can do!!" LOLZ 😂❤
STEWART!
Stewart. 😂
"LOOK WHAT I CAN DO"!! 😂😂😂
Look what I can do.lol.stewart was the best
Karen is more the Joan Crawford type of mom
Hide the hangers!
Bring me the axe!
Aww they had their father‘s eyes and their mothers aggressive tendencies 😂
I think Karen is teaching Amanda about consent. Also think she hates being filmed.
How do you tell them apart😊
Maybe tapping your hand at them started the aggressive behavior. The one used its feet to "stomp" at her hand.
And their dad's hair 😂
Karen doesn't care who it is... Even her babies can catch that beak. At least she's consistent.😂
Catching beaks! Oh my 😂
That baby trying to stomp your hand was too much lmao
They haven’t stopped stomping
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree 😂😂😂
Pretty sure that's Janet😂
Now that there’s 4 of them it’s a small army and with Karen as their Commander u won’t stand a chance. 😅❤😂😂😂 Sending prayers in advance.
2 legged animals with the Zoomies is so much funnier than the 4 legged variety. Both equally entertaining to watch, but definitely funnier on 2 legs..
Yes! -love that their centre of gravity seems to be running in the opposite direction.
Awww… they were born being adorable a-holes…. Karen must be so proud 😢😢
😂😂😂😂😂😂 omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You made me laugh
I didn't think it was "bird protective services". I thought it was CPS (Chick Protective Services).😂
I'm imagining them with ice skates on. Doing the couples skate at the Olympics. Definable Gold medalist.
Stanley and Glenn are so chill, while Karen and Janet are both feisty. There really a family ❤
Reverse stork. Absolute gold!
I feel like its almost illegal for karen to see her kids 😂
It is still baffling how these guys managed to survive as a species.
What with the mothers unfortunate tenancies towards eating their own eggs...
...and their seemingly sole defense mechanism being some kind of dance that mimics a full on seizure.
Well, as the immortal Jeff Goldbloom once said: Life finds a way.
*Yes, I know it was Sam Neil, but they have a poster of Jeff right there!
Correction: Jeff Golblum😂
With regular emu, I believe it's mostly the males that raise the chicks.
And yet they defeated the Australian Army.
@@sakurakiyorithank God it wasn't left to Karen!
Let’s not forget those very large beaks - they probably make good weapons AND shields.
It's nice to see all of the hay stack birdies together. Handsome family of elegant dancers.
“haystack birdies”!! looove that! it is exactly what they resemble!
They start out so cute. Then quickly de-evolve into feathered dinosaurs!!
This is my favorite birds and the …uh, birds… story. Love to see tiny Janet and Glenn w/2 Ns! ❤
These guys seriously look like they have arms, but they're tied behind their backs. They even look like they're trying to wrestle them free.
“You bred raptors…?”
Bless, Karen's met her match and they both have impeccable Stanley coordination for interpretive dance moves.
You will never convince me those sweet babies came from Karen 🤣🤣🤣 ps I don't think that's zoomies they got ahold of the wrong weed 🤭
Here it’s called Sida Can kill Horses Noxious weed 🌺✌️😎
Female emus are aggressive like Karen. They're all that way. The male is the more docile. He also is the one who incubates the eggs and raises the kids...alone. the female goes off, looking for hook-ups and laying eggs whenever she finds a suitable one night stand, 😅. Seriously, that's how emus are.
Love how they kick and dance. They are adorable, just like their parents!
Karen and her Curella Deville coat lol
Cruella*
They are precious and goofy as heck!😂
They run like they are in the special Olympics. I bet they love you so much! 😂🫶🏽🤗
😂😂I'm going to hell.
They run like Phoebe Bouffet
@@LindaC616
And dance better than Monica on Friends. Haha.
@marirose19 😄 did Monica ever dance on that show? She was too uptight.😄
@@marirose19 I think they dance like Elaine Benes in Seinfeld!
Thank you so much for the love you show you fur babies!
📖 beautiful story , Happy birthday Glenn and Janet 🍇
"Little Karen." 😂😂😂
Aww thanks for sharing I didn't realize they were a year old time flys
Pocket size emus already have their dance moves
I will never not think of Cassowaries and dinosaurs doing zoomies when I see emus doing zoomies 😮
It's more than I ever remember seeing from Emus at Royal Melbourne Zoo, and Healeville Sanctuary. They mostly stood around minding their own business, making that thrumming sound, or checked out anything that looked maybe edible.
Honey if ya haven't ever watched Mad TV you need to look it up on here and watch Stewart ...when he says
"LOOK WHAT I CAN DO" I swear he moves like an emu..lmao
Karen met her match in Janet 😂 Same fiesty attitude but at least not directed at you. Love this ❤
You are so brave Mamma Emu.... these are some crazy archaeopteryx!
Just great big fluffy bird-kittens with murder toes. They're adorable. Thanks for the origin story, especially having your hand beside the hatchling for size reference. Looks about the size of an adult California Quail when they are fresh out of the shell.
Well, that was surprisingly non-violent.
Janet and Glenn dance like Elaine off of Seinfeld. 😆
Daniel and Curtis are unfazed by Michael's weirdness because they grew up with 2 weird cousins.
Boy, they have some entertaining moves.
“Karen, that is not nice” sez you. Like you seriously expected motherly behavior from that crazed, velociraptor of an emu?
They were so little ❤😊
I love the costumes that you have for these animals. It is so funny to me, especially Stanley. He’s such a trooper. He does anything for his mommy.
If a firecracker was a live animal...
wow! they live up to 28 years! Lifetime commitment and they couldn't be luckier! God bless
Their little heads when running through long grass ❤ they are beautiful, thank you for that Amanda ❤ lots of love from Mandy and herd of cats, UK 🇬🇧
Absolutely adorable. The running and kicking is tthe best! !
Looks like they're both still learning how to use their legs, but Janet has learned her mother's hiss quite well. Thank goodness she hasn't learned the attack that normally goes with Karen's hiss! 😂
You gotta love those little wings, they’re just hanging there.❤
Yep, I guess evolution left "vestigial" little wings that no longer function. At least Glenn and Stanley can use them to do interpretive dance. 😅
Be nice. Those are your children. 😂
This what's a great story! An excellent bedtime story!😊 Now, I feel I know so much about Emu's...!!!
One thing I would really like to know , why do they appear to keep falling down? Or is it they're going to lie down ... but they change their mind real quickly???
They're So Graceful too !!!😊 LOL
God bless everyone at Useless Farm!!!
How about now making Karen into emu burgers😮😮😢😊
I can’t tell who is who. But the lighter one always kicking and then tap dancing..lol! 🤣🤣
Awwww they have always been little dancers!! I see u taught them well😊💃
this makes me calm ,i love how the emus interact with each other
The Stanley dance moves are strong in this one!
Two precious blessings! It’s a joy to watch them dance.❤
Just what I needed to watch today, loved their sweet story! So glad you were there to protect them from mommie dearest too! Love your videos!
Janet and Glenn, I could watch them all day. Their dance of the Emus could give The National Ballet of Canada a run for their money. Such beauty. Such grace.🥺
Glenn and Janet, I understand. I, too, was raised by Karen. 😢😂😂😂
Fabulous dancers! ❤❤❤❤
Janet and Glenn's interpretive dance is GLORIOUS🤩🥰
I was thinking they were itchy trying to scratch themselves on the ground every few seconds. Lol. I love the half rollovers with leg kicks
How do you not stand and watch them for hours? They're so effing funny!!!! I cracked up almost this entire video. 😂😂😂😂
Puppy bows, attempted horse rolls, and visits to the alpaca pool. That's the life ❤
Janet and Glenn with two n’s 0-6 months: had that “Where are my arms?!” look for a moment or two …
Just like all babies, they all love to run and play.
My brother's name is Glenn wit two 2 n's.😂😂😂
My dad's was too, middle name Tracy! If you asked him what his only tattoo GTS was for, he'd say Grand Trunk Special😂!
My husband's name is Tracey and my youngest son is also Tracey. My grandson is Stacey .I haven't heard of anyone called Tracey 🤗😘
So cool! Loved seeing the babies at all different ages! So interesting to see them interacting with their parents for the first time too! Thank you for making this world a better place for all of us! ❤️😊
They are so precious it almost hurts awwwwww❤❤
They would be the Emu version of the Wacky Inflatable Tube Guy. Too cute 😂❤
I never realized how graceful and fluid their movements would be. They are almost swan-like!😂
Oh the artistry and raw talent! Superb ❤
I do my best. Ta.
What was Mother Nature thinking??😂
this is adorable.
Amazing! They made it to one year without being pecked, stomped, scratched, etc, by Karen! Actually, I found this fascinating. Thanks for compiling the Birth of an Emu and sharing it with us. Definitely as epic as Birth of a Nation. ❤

Can't believe Stanley and Karen got it on. Those Karen and Stanley genes too 🤣. Good luck!
The vocals along with the dancing is so exotic. This was their “Our Parents Don’t Understand Us” performance.
What adorable babies! So neither one has attacked you like Karen does? I love it when they dance! Reminds me of me getting off a cruise ship and still having “sea legs”! Thank you for the share! ♥️
I absolutely LOVE Glenn (with two n’s) and Janet!!! Maybe Janet should have two n’s as well! Glenn and Jannette!!! ❤️💕❤️
Beautiful 🥰 LOL
G’day.
Hello from Australia!
Thank you ❤❤ I see Karen was channeling her Mother instincts 😊 what a Woman 😊
Lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂smh n then bird protective services come in and remove the egg bcuz Karen is grossly unfit lmfao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That video is very helpful in visually explaining the term Pecking Order.Thankyou❤
If you hear the Bird Protective Services sirens,
It's already too late. 😁
What happens if they hatch and are brought up near the parents?
Heaven forbid!
It's bad enough that they have Karen's genetic tendencies towards violence. The last thing you want is to allow Karen to train them as well.
They'd be pecked to death is my guess (sorry if you see this twice, I couldn't see my original comment)
Nature? Nurture?
The males protect and nurture the babies. Stanley would have made a great papa in the wild.
They have their father's moves and their mother's temper
You have such a great sense of humor and ha had me reevaluate my "all Canadians are stupid" policy. 😊
Lol! Karen said f them kids! 😂 She was sizing them up! 😅 They are all adorable!
First, no farm is useless! Lol I love watching Emus run around. They always look like they're on a bad acid trip and they keep seeing things that aren't there but scare them to death.lol
They start right in on the goofy dance right away too huh these birds are quite the characters
Offspring said it best, “You gotta keep em separated!” 😂😂😂
How adorable!❤ so spunky these two!
Do Emu’s recognize their own kids as adults?
4 of them. You are a brave, woman.
I doubt it. The males might in nature because the males raise them. The female emu has nothing to do with her babies. She lays the eggs and leaves, lol. The male incubates them alone and also raises them by himself.
