It was only really intended to a one off Christmas season product. It didn’t sell that well at the time. They are pretty much raw pigments and tints. It did indeed help lead to Contrast as we had them in the office to play around with for a while.
WOW!
Thanks for the insight mate! Super appreciated and very interesting.
Mind if I ask what factory y'all went to for these tints?
That's insane coincidence! I just uploaded a lil mini documentary/review of this thing, I'm glad someone else remembered this thing c:
AWESOME!!
Always love a paint review on paints I can't buy anymore 😂
Happy to help! 😘
This but unironically
This stuff is neat. I can see Alpha Legion players loving this, allowing them to easily mix up some metallic turquoise and have an awesome looking army that looks consistent too. Although, I'm pretty sure the same results can be attained easily enough with stuff like inks or Contrast.
Also, Vallejo Metal Color is raw magic in a bottle. Dark Aluminium is one of my personal mainstays whenever I need a nice Leadbelcher like colour on a large surface. The Mecha Color range dark silvers are my weapon of choice when I need a more precise application.
And happy Juan noises are funny as hell.
Lol, thanks mate 😘
I never thought I'd see Juan excited by blue, truly these are an amazing product lol
It's interesting to see the evolution of ideas GW goes through stinks they didn't stick with it like you said they'd be pretty popular now :) great video
Yeah, I wish they would reconsider a new launch for these but I highly doubt it
I love "experimenting with random paints" type vids, thanks man.
Happy to help!
Had a set of these since release and really only used the spatulas. :)
Of course now i'm inspired and have to immeditely get a set of Vallejo Metallic to sit unused on the edge of my desk wth the Tints. Thanks allot Juan...
Happy to help 😂
I bought this set back when it came out and used it extensively. Nothing left of it by now. I found the pure pigment paints from Kimera are pretty similar and still available.
Similar in the sense they use pure pigments, but I find them VERY different, for one the Kimera Paints dry because they have additives and a medium which this one's haven't.
I still love the Kimera paints very much
I remember when this product was release...I didn't know what do do with it. But now that I know way more about painting minis I'd like to be able to buy it.
Stunning video, great to see what you did with the metal colour paints, great tips to use on my Aspiring Hero, thanks heaps.
Happy to help!!
Bought one yesterday from my local hobby store - they've had 2 in stock since they came out lol.
The white and orange are totally solidified, but the rest are mostly usable
The rest are the better ones anyway
Man that looks incredible. That would be a really really awesome color for the alpha legion .
OH YEAH
7:29 Juan getting exited about BLUE ;)
Great video.
Thanks 😘
Professional as always 👍
Thanks 😘
YES! Chubby Juan nostalgia!
Best kind of nostalgia!
Ha. I have this. I forgot about it. Now I need to find it. Lol
The colors you made looks similar to the old gw Metallics, which I still have.
YES YOU DO!!
thx for resumen 👌
Necesito los tintes ya!!!! Me has creado una necesidad al ver esos tonos en el plateado … jajajjajaja
Un placer ayudar!
Never knew this set even existed!
If you get a chance, please take a look/compare it with Mixol tints. I have a suspition they might be very similar is not outright the same thing rebottled.
INTERESTING! I think I might do just that
I a set and they are great.
They are amazing, I love them
I remember there being a tutorial about using these to make colored metallics on the warhammer channel years ago and then not being able to find neither the video or the tints after looking for them afterwards. always thought I had hallucinated their existence LOL
I think Duncan did it but I might be mistaken
I remember these. I never got them as at the time, and still, horrible at remembering how much I mix for stuff like this.
Fair
A shame you didn't finish that figure. I really love how it was shaping up!
Thanks!
Vallejo metallics are on my list. I'm sure After watching this, I'm sure I could get some nice tints from Army painter inks. Thanks!!!
Happy to help!

@JaunHidalgoMiniatures Do you think the Pro Acryl Transparent range would be comparable?
They are a totally different product. This are not really paints, it's basically raw pigment in paste form.
These are actually pretty awesome and fun. I wonder if there is a comparable product out there that we can buy?
Not that I know off sadly
Juan, thank you for the information about this product. It looked like it was a good idea. Are there alternatives that can be bought today? Also, I noticed you were dispensing the medium from a dropper bottle. Did you dispense that from a regular pot bottle, or can it be bought that way?
Sadly no products available that can substitute this set.
I transfer all my Citadel paints into droppers
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I think I remember seeing something about transferring them to droppers. Did you have a video about that methodology or was that another creator? Any way thank you for the quick reply.
@jhoodfysh I don't have a video but I might do one soon. My method is very simple.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I will look for it. That would help me and others I believe.
No substitutes from GW, but the pure pigment paints from Kimera offer pretty much the same options.
I had bought one of these sets when they first came out, when I opened it up the Perturabo was dead on arrival and solid. I emailed GW support about it and they sent me a free bottle of Lahmian Medium to try to resurrect it XD
Other than some experimenting back then I never really touched these, but this video has been really inspiring and I'll have to play with them once again
YEAH
Me has dado una idea brillante! Mezclar tintas con speedpaints y Xpress que vayan justitos de pigmentación! Qué pintaza el que usas para la carne, queda increíble
Buena idea
Juan I gotta ask! What background music do you use??
Darude - Sandstorm
Is there away to acquire these tint paints now? or do other companies make similar paints?
Not that I'm aware of but I'm investigating
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thank you :) I am currently learning nmm from you tutorials👍you are great 😁
@lukasjohansson9094 VIEWS FOR THE VIEWS GOD
How long ago was this? Both the filming and the products availablity. Just out of curiosity.
Filming maybe 1,5 years ago? The product I think was released in 2016
So Cool ✌️💚
Thanks
isnt it possible to buy the pigments of their own? so it would be possible to mix these colors
You can definitely buy the pigments in powder form but in small quantities they are extremely expensive and you would still need to grind them and mix them into this form and we don't even know what medium they are using here
can you just use inks though?
Not the same concentration of pigment of the same consistency
I wanted this set but I couldn't justify its high price combined with a lack of explained uses.
It was a shame but it's probably one of my favourite paint nerd products ever made
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures user engagement!
Is this a coded cry for help? Has Juan been body snatched? The first parts of the video have lots of praise for the blue in this set
Lol, it's truly beautiful
I have this set, never really used it in anger and only played with it when it first came out.
Maybe it's time to revisit it!
As a one off product they died out mostly because they literally dried out in the pots faster than a dehydrated bag of salt left in the sun.
Lol
A found phootage video about miniature paints/ing. 😮😅
Pretty much!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I like found phootage videos 😁
What you did to the sword at the end made me wish "oils without the hassle" paints were a thing.
I see these oil videos where they just take a skin highlight color and swipe it across a bicep and it looks like you have been layering it for 20 mins.
Someone ought to make this!
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
: )
😘
Como siempre, deprimiendo poniendo pinturas que ya no se pueden conseguir. 8)
Un placer ayudar!
Everything good gets canceled.
Sadly that's true in this case
I bought it. Waste of money.
It's certainly not for everyone, it's definitely for me though
the name of each paint is printed in the plastic on the bottom, so guessing which is which was funny :D (yes, i got to the bit where you also realized xD)
😂😂😂
I would love it if someone released those! The blending on the sword example was amazing and I would love to have some technical paints that did exactly what was shown, the blending looked so easy like oils but without the hassle just like you said! 🤌
TOTALLY AGREE! I would buy the shit out of a complete set of tints nowadays
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures hell yeah man!! 😁
