Got a 16 that avts like its valor locking.never gets hot just bogs out. I was thinking the pump. But now im curious which one. Mine is the eco boost model.
Fuel pump is not ran by “plunger”. It is ran by the camshaft lobe that is under the spring. The spring is what multiples and increases the pressure before leaving the line while the connector is just a solenoid. Also all ways check your roller/bucket that sits between the camshaft and roller or bucket depending on make and model. Those are huge culprits in some of fords bulletins for block replacements.
I managed to break the electrical connector while changing out spark plugs. Duh! Is it possible to replace only that part, or do you have to get a whole new pump? Thanks.

anyone know if these cars have a removable fuel filter aswell ? my car is having issues as in not accelerating properly if i try to hit the gas harder , i have already changed the tappet under this pump , but it didnt look bad at all to be honest .
Can you talk about the symptoms bro I’m trying to figure out my moms car we took it to Ford dealership for some simple recalls and axle/and transmission leak/seal fix the car feels smoother but now it stalls when braking and it will still idle pretty shaky but once you throw it in drive it stalls. Just stalls and is very shaky could this be just some bad grounds with a tps senso or maf or spark? I just did her spark plugs 10,000 miles ago .. I did see her valve cover has been leaking but it always ran fine what do u think it could be. Can u explain the symptoms u we’re having so I can have a general idea gods damn I hate Ford lol thank u ! God bless
I'm not talking about the 17mm line talking about the one that has a black plastic covering that you use a fuel line tool pn but there is not enough space to use the tool.
right, because there's no Schrader valve for depressing on for pressure . I like to push in on it with my mini screwdriver and let it shoot on me and see if it has pressure then I'll know for sure what's going on from there.
Thank you for this info, have you or anyone in the comments drop double mileage for instance after driving 1 mile you drop 2 miles instead, the kicker I’m having is that most of the time it stops after I’m driving for about 5 miles and it goes back to normal, but it happens again after I turn on the car after I put gas at the gas station (most of the time it won’t matter where I turn on the car)?
remove the pump again, when you release the fuel lines wrap a rag around the fuel lines* you really dont want to be a ' darwin award winner' do you.. after you removed the pump, pull out the tappet/ bucket that you see in there,, easy to do, and replace it if it is worn badly.. you should replace this bucket every 60000 miles, they are cheap..$20.00.. they start wearing thru the surface hardness,, then it gets into the soft metal after that, and causes more problems.. // see my post above
I agree with Randell Gribben below. Dude you have to replace the bucket under the fuel pump or your just asking for problems. It is probably worn and doesn't give enough lift to the pump. This is a common problem with these engines Ford refuses to acknowledge. $200 Fuel pump, $20 bucket vs. replacing all along with camshaft from Ford motor for $2500. Make sure you know what your talking about when posting videos.
funny you just tossed parts at the car... after you removed the pump, use a rag and wrap it around the fuel line when you remove it.. you should have taken out the tappet under the pump to check its condtion.. they do wear out, under all that pump spring pressure...also every 3 years, just change the tappet / bucket under the pump..cost less than $20.00 lots of times this is the problem the tappet face get worn out.. and the pump piston start wearing out the camshaft on the side./. cost much more $$$$$ to fix.. change oil every 5k to 6k miles.. and this problem should not happen
,,forgot.. i am a classic Italian car tech.. i find the source of the problem,, just dont toss parts at it and hope it works..so you folks watching this and asking for his advice.. be carefull
Too much to clarifying on this I will try that as soon as I can have the money for it. Consulting a few other videos and I noticed that this is also a common problem and I don't know if the fuel pump itself goes bad or if it's just these things you're talking about.

How do you know which pump to change. The one in the tank or the one under the hood.

stalling while braking makes me think you have a air leak.check the rubber hoses for leakage.
On older cars a I. A. C SOLENOID would cause that
You can get the pump at orally and auto zone

are you getting fuel? also check my follow up video on the subject. the cup may be bad. look under the pump.
