Thank you man, finally managed to beat him. Staying close to him and attacking his back during phase 2 was the key for me. He actually leaves a ton of openings in the second phase, but he's so scary, hits hard and jumps around so much that you don't realize it at first.
Yeah the parry timing for that crazy combo is right after the first swing. Literally just shoot as soon as you see the first swing. The second one is so fast it’s impossible to react to, but if you shoot right after the first swing you’ll catch the lightning-fast start up of the second swing pretty consistently. It’s nice cause you can bait him into the combo by staying close to him when he should be going into phase 2. I used that to get Orphan into phase 2 with way less health than normal.
You are the absolute GOAT!!!!!! I went from running out of vials to only using 7 the entire fight, that combo is elite. Thank you so much bro, from endless rage to second try using your method, wasn't even a biggie.

No matter how many times I died to orphie I can never get mad at this boss not because of his difficulty but because of the fact that I was killing an infant recently after birth only to be able to end the nightmare😥. And when I finally beat him I still felt sense of remorse for killing him. Still though great guide I'm sure It's going to help many and I will definetely try for myself👍.

THE BEST VIDEO FOR THIS DAMN BOSS. Everyone online is telling me to use the stagger strategy but seems that I got a copy of the game where the Orphan never once does the over head attack (literally 30+ attempts and I never saw that move) , so I can never do the the damn stagger strategy. Before this video I'd get killed the moment he enters phase 2, now I finally know how to handle him. THANK YOU.

IMO it’s more easy to just shoot at him for the viscerals in the first phase, but holy frijoles your tip about staying behind him for the 2nd saved me. beat him in 5 tries vs the 50 i did before i gave up last time i played the game.

it feels like you do sooo much damage per hit, even for one light attack hit, i have my skill at 30 and my saw cleaver max level and i only do i sliver of damage per hit... do you have any idea why that may be? thanks

Now that I played this game 10 times or so, I can beat Orphan of Kos at first try. And when he is dead I restart to the menu to fight again xD It's so enjoyable to beat him over and over and get the revenge of the first run, I think I died maybe 120 times. My strategy is pretty much based on parrying him, now that I'm very confident it's the easiest way to deal with him, even in the second fase is relatively easy to parry him.

I was wondering how you were dealing so much damage in comparison to me before I realised that this is NG, not NG+ Orphan lol. I didn’t actually remember to finish the DLC before I killed Gehrman and MP and because of that I have been suffering. I’ll definitely give this a try. I’ve already been trying the backstabs but his positioning is so awkward it’s not been going well.
@@Azzavhar I managed to beat him this morning, shot him in the face with my Evelyn after accidentally parrying him mid jump attack for the kill. Changed my weapon from Threaded Cane to Saw Spear since it’s charged attack hits wider and was able to get more consistent backstabs in with added damage from beast pellets, which was very helpful. I cannot recommend enough fighting him in the water. It makes the lightning attack way easier to deal with, since it comes from the corpse of Kos, and you can easily see it coming and dodge it if you are further away in the water.

I’m a souls vet but never played blood born dlc so I decided to try it and my main character is on new game 10-11 or something like that and I could t even get passed the first boss so I made a new character beat most bosses first try and just beat orphan first try without watching any guides or anything I knew a few tricks from watching spendruns but that’s it I’m pretty proud of myself after dying 50 times yesterday to Ludwig on my main character lol
@@Azzavhar status update now on attempt 35, I’ve been mixing up the parry attack and the backstab attack and it seems to be working but man is it frustrating, I’ve watched most of your videos and honestly that might be how I’ve gotten so far is watching how you do it and replicating it just not working for this one
@@GamerLeon-ps2bp He's a tough boss. If in doubt, I'd just grind blood echoes and level up loads of times. Or you could shoot a lot and hope to get lots of parries. You can grind up levels by running around in a circle at the top or Mergo's Loft. The part with the giant pigs. Kill the pigs and shadows a lot.
damn so for me it was 2 key things take the fight out on the water more space pretty good and very very usefull to know the lightning comes from Kos herself that wad like the main problem I got with this boss like I can pretty well fight him agressively and take some distance to heal up but in his second phase sometimes he jumps to far away I cant close up fast enough he does the lightning bullshit and depending on if I can see when it comes I can dodge or I get staggered and then finished by Orphan

Unfortunately it’s not gonna be as easy for me, I killed Gehrman before finishing the DLC not knowing it would put me straight into ng+, so my first encounter with the orphan was on ng+… I’m so envious of the damage you’re doing 😭
the exact same thing happened to me, honestly i hate how they did that instead of giving us a choice to start ng+ or not. u can not structure the ending like that in a soulsgame.
For me I got the platinum trophy before i bought the dlc. You need to get all 3 endings for the platinum so im on ng+3 fighting kos for the first time.. 💀
I started bloodborne roughly 4 weeks ago its my first souls game i have beaten the game which took me 22 hours and now im going for platinum im on my second Playthrough which has 14 hours normal game i only have gherman left but on dlc i have orphan and Laurence my question is how to avoid his combos i try to get away after he gets me to 1 hp but its so unforgivable so far the bosses that took me the longest were: Ebritas 9, maria 7, and shadows 5 (i got logarius on 2) im currently 9 runs in on orphan and ive gotten him to 25% but i can never hit him while he is jumping and comboing
Hey. Keep fighting on. Don't give up. You got this. You could also try parry spamming when Orphan is going crazy. Because he attacks so often and just goes wild, sometimes you will land a parry a bit more often than usual at this point. Follow up the parry with a critical strike. Thank you for watching.
Ok, So I keep getting stuck on his second phase when he does his triple smash combo. During the window which I can dodge, Its like my character is paralyzed and won't respond to the dodge input. Any advice?

I'm up to him now. First phase = no worries, but I'm not seeing any openings in the second. Watching your video, Orphan seems to behave differently when you're up close. Looks like you're not locked on at all in phase 2. Also your advice is opposite to Vaati who suggests to stay away in second phase

😢If he jumps towards you phase 1 focus him always and Walk towards him, NOT Run.. Walk. Every time he jumps over you. You got locked in him so you turn automatically youre now right behind him. Fast good damage weapon like sawspear/cleaver charged R2 back stab. And visceral attackm. Phase 1 is harder than phase 2.. Phase 1 has 1 safe bof his attacks where you can attack. Phase 2 has 2 of his moves you're gonna attack. Phase 1 hold the distance for triggering his jump. Phase 2 avoid him and wait for those 2 opportunities to do damage. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.. DON'T STAY ON THE BEACH LIKE A OFFROAD SAND BUGGY.. GO ALWAYS AND STAY ALWAYS IN THE WATER. FLAT GROUND WITH NOTHING STANDING IN YOU'RE WAY WHEN MOVING

You can parry the uppercut, and many other attacks. Parrying for this boss is key.

Agreed there should be a way to refill blood vials like estus flasks in dark souls😡

The uppercut attack can be carried fairly easily in the first phase, you don't only need to wait for the jump

I’m a souls vet but never played blood born dlc so I decided to try it and my main character is on new game 10-11 or something like that and I could t even get passed the first boss so I made a new character beat most bosses first try and just beat orphan first try without watching any guides or anything I knew a few tricks from watching spendruns but that’s it I’m pretty proud of myself after dying 50 times yesterday to Ludwig on my main character lol

@@Azzavhar status update now on attempt 35, I’ve been mixing up the parry attack and the backstab attack and it seems to be working but man is it frustrating, I’ve watched most of your videos and honestly that might be how I’ve gotten so far is watching how you do it and replicating it just not working for this one
@@GamerLeon-ps2bp He's a tough boss. If in doubt, I'd just grind blood echoes and level up loads of times. Or you could shoot a lot and hope to get lots of parries.
You can grind up levels by running around in a circle at the top or Mergo's Loft. The part with the giant pigs. Kill the pigs and shadows a lot.
damn so for me it was 2 key things take the fight out on the water more space pretty good and very very usefull to know the lightning comes from Kos herself that wad like the main problem I got with this boss like I can pretty well fight him agressively and take some distance to heal up but in his second phase sometimes he jumps to far away I cant close up fast enough he does the lightning bullshit and depending on if I can see when it comes I can dodge or I get staggered and then finished by Orphan

the exact same thing happened to me, honestly i hate how they did that instead of giving us a choice to start ng+ or not. u can not structure the ending like that in a soulsgame.
For me I got the platinum trophy before i bought the dlc. You need to get all 3 endings for the platinum so im on ng+3 fighting kos for the first time.. 💀
I started bloodborne roughly 4 weeks ago its my first souls game i have beaten the game which took me 22 hours and now im going for platinum im on my second Playthrough which has 14 hours normal game i only have gherman left but on dlc i have orphan and Laurence my question is how to avoid his combos i try to get away after he gets me to 1 hp but its so unforgivable so far the bosses that took me the longest were: Ebritas 9, maria 7, and shadows 5 (i got logarius on 2) im currently 9 runs in on orphan and ive gotten him to 25% but i can never hit him while he is jumping and comboing

Because he attacks so often and just goes wild, sometimes you will land a parry a bit more often than usual at this point. Follow up the parry with a critical strike. Thank you for watching.

Ok, So I keep getting stuck on his second phase when he does his triple smash combo. During the window which I can dodge, Its like my character is paralyzed and won't respond to the dodge input. Any advice?
double check that you are locked off. not locked on. sometimes locking on can cause your hunter to do some weird side stepping and stuff.

Looks like you're not locked on at all in phase 2. Also your advice is opposite to Vaati who suggests to stay away in second phase

Yep. Lots of back stabs in phase 1. You won't even have to use many blood vials, in phase 1, if you have the Blood Rapture Caryll rune equipped too.

Not sure which boss I hate most....🤔 Hes tough but not my most hated.
Which one is your most hated boss?
😢If he jumps towards you phase 1 focus him always and Walk towards him, NOT Run.. Walk. Every time he jumps over you. You got locked in him so you turn automatically youre now right behind him. Fast good damage weapon like sawspear/cleaver charged R2 back stab. And visceral attackm.
Phase 1 is harder than phase 2.. Phase 1 has 1 safe bof his attacks where you can attack. Phase 2 has 2 of his moves you're gonna attack. Phase 1 hold the distance for triggering his jump. Phase 2 avoid him and wait for those 2 opportunities to do damage.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.. DON'T STAY ON THE BEACH LIKE A OFFROAD SAND BUGGY.. GO ALWAYS AND STAY ALWAYS IN THE WATER. FLAT GROUND WITH NOTHING STANDING IN YOU'RE WAY WHEN MOVING
