My opinion about statue is that the current government must build something and call it who ever they want , by doing that it's make great sense not to remove the old ones , becouse they also sembolise something to remember for the next generations and the new government has a duty to make name for them selves

Mpho should have told you about some of the historic buildings around church square. The building behind him is the palace of justice where Mandela's case was heard. You also passed National Museum of Natural History and City hall. You should've went into the Pretoria station and Gautrain station.
Walk church street up to the Reserve band and state theatre.

Actually the Boers lost the war against the British. That is why their boer republics (Orange Free State and Transvaal) were conquered and consolidated into one South Africa.
The reason they have those statues is because they built the city and all these monuments. They honoured their war generals. Us black people we need to build our own monuments and put our own statues. I understand black labour was used to build this cities and monuments.

I don't think that it is correct to destroy the old statues. It is a history to be preserved. There are many freedom fighters statues built around the country. If you go to Fountains, you will find many statues, even of grate Kings and Chiefs like Shaka Zulu. There is really no point to put a freedom fighter statue on the old historic area. It's won't add value to the history of such a place.

A great leader leads by principles, selflessness, common sense, wisdom, fairness, justice, truth, compassion, partnership, wealth development & growth, love.... A poor leader has his wits, charisma, eloquent speech, arrogance masquerading as strength..... These are the qualities I looked for in a leader ..
