Why are people comparing America to Canada? Just enjoy our brotherhood and respect each other. As a Canadian, America you guys are awesome and keep doing what you're doing. #BrothersForever
The ones talking shit to one another are only kids/trolls. In all reality we love our Canadian brothers. I learned vice versa when I visited BC.
stepbro11 alot of people tend to compare the US marines with the CF and i understand why
the US marines recieve really harsh formation to withstand war stress however the CF soldiers are extremely disciplined, id go as far as to compare them with Roman Legions of the Holy Roman Empire
i see a US marine recruit and i see a soldier, i see a CF recruit and i see an elite, thats how i feel about their discipline, the US marines have the stress management but the CF soldier is a complete machine: relentless and so disciplined its mindblowing
Americans and Canadians are brothers in arms. Why would that change?
Devin Smith
because its untrue :v
teammates; sometimes, friends; probably, brothers in arms; not by a long shot, its called national pride and differences
go ask any US marine or CAF soldier, they will tell you the same thing: the other guy is a friend or a teammate but not a brother in arm because hes not part of the same family
+xGoodOldSmurfehx I meant on a national scale. Canada and the US do joint missions and aren't military enemies. The CF and Marines are pretty damn close. Just cause your friend has some beef with another military force doesn't mean the the entire CF or Marine corp Hate each other; that's called stereotypeing.
"Because I wanted to blow stuff up"
That's... That's actually kinda scary the way she puts that... O_o
Stop comparing Canadian soldiers to American, similar training, similar goals. People join to serve and protect their country, not to be insulted in the youtube comments. So show some respect and be nice.
What are you talking aboot?
Sliced Lemons *about
Sigma That's because 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸has better army than Canadian Military.

william James those maple syrup sissies have none on us
US and Canada are the greatest countries in the world. We will always help each other out no matter what.
kavkazip I love Americans. I used to truck there all the time. I miss The U.S.
kavkazip it sure the canada and US have creat the (NORAD) north american aerospace defense command
Canada is protected by the U.S.A nuclear umbrella
***** patriotism is all good, but realistically? The average Canadian soldier is trained slightly better, but the average US soldier is equipped FAR better. Also, the last time Canada kicked the USA's ass was in 1812 and that was only because the Native Americans hated the Americans more then they hated us, if an actual war broke out tomorrow between Canada and the US, we'd be the 52nd state within a month
***** that may be true but we also need the americans production power an numbers to help
is this 4k?
No, 144k
144hz
nah bro you trippin. Its clearly 499k
The best training course anyone could ever go through and survive! I trained in 1989 at CFRS Cornwallis and basic training has helped shape who I am even today!
I joined really because I wanted to pretty much blow stuff up 0:57
Lmao, so me.
R.F.S. Bros Yeah well you wouldn't have been accepted in if you told them that when they asked you why you were joining.
What if I just want some hardcore gay sex with guys in top physical condition? Is that a yea or a nay?

Shawn maybe and with a chance of yes

I joined the CF 3 yrs ago this month. Have been Merit listed for a yr now for dental tech. Got a call on friday for a new interview and medical. Hopefully this is my yr! I love Canada! My home, our beautiful country.
There you go the strong, proud Canadian Soldiers!
I'm joining in one year's time. It looks awesome, and I will certainly gain a flavor of life for my writing hobby. Its a greenlight for me on all fronts. You'll make your gal proud, and will have many doors opened should you wish to change out. You won't be left hanging.

@TheStratguys Yes, reserve forces also go through the same training as the regular forces.
no. less intense

Passed my aptitude test today, scheduled for my medical, interview and pt on the 20th. Wish me luck!
did you pass
As an American, it's nice to have Canada as our neighbor...Looks like you guys do a great job with training your military :).
Thanks for the response! I have considered the army reserves, but after watching all the Basic Up videos on the Forces website, I really think full time work, that requires me to leave and be away from friends and family on my own for a period of time, is something I really want. I graduate in January, and was really hoping to apply once I'm out of school. But, if circumstances change, I may join the reserves for a period of time.
Cant wait july 3rd signing them papers good luck to anyone considering joining
OntarioUrbanMusher Congrats, hows it going now?
I had enlisted twice both never reaching merit. after the second attempt I stopped was kind of frustrating no one told me each time my file closed until I had called following up, only wish the best and better luck to anyone who wishes to enlist
@@OntarioUrbanMusher did you at least make it?
Oh mean little guy now aren't you? Oh and you’re the one changing subjects. You’re a soldier not a researcher. I acknowledge the fact that you served a hard and honorable 26 years but I have done my research also and my facts have been checked over and over again. I'm done fighting with you. Believe what you want. I salute you.
I'm only 12 and I already know that I'm going to join the Canadian military
I was just a little guy, 6 or 7 when i started wanting to.
I'm in the 2310 army cadet core. Our core seems to be doing great this year with events
you may be 15 or 14 but we but hey fellow canadian
By the Minecraft profile pic I can tell you wont
I'm 14, My Grandpa served in the Canadian air force. Hoping to join CAF one day.
I really want to join as a medical technician when I'm 19.
My mind is set on this x
Excuse me for commenting so late, I don't watch TH-cam videos every day.
Peter, man, stop ripping on people. I come from a military family, and none of my 13 relatives in service have any gripes in terms of pay or benefits. I don't know what you did to piss off your pay clerk, but I'm not surprised you got the short end of the stick. Also, minimum requirements for RCMP are: 19 years old, no criminal record, first aid, great communication skills, uphold RCMP ethics (or HICRAP) and a high school diploma. No university degree required (and they still make over 100K after overtime, holiday, and bonus pay). Yet the RCMP are some of the most honest, hard working, and best trained police officers in the world (aside from a small number of bad apples, let's not start that debate). Now, I don't buy any of this "teachers have it the best" because, if they did, the BCTF wouldn't have voted on a strike (again). According to CF recruiting site, lowest wage for a regular member is no les than $49,900 before taxes. Not to mention health, dental, and life insurance, job security, flexibility, education benefits, and paid leave. Not to mention honest work, which is nothing a "private sector CEO" could say. If you're thinking of joining, do it. There is no higher honour. Thank you.
I did my BMQ in Wainwright 2006. We were the pilot course for Reg Force BMQ there.
WE HAVE THE JTF2 BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You fuckin tool, we have the ONLY JTF2 in the world.
You based that on what? I mean besides nothing.
Vincent Robinson
Where are they then you fucking simpleton? Who else has a Joint Task Force 2?
JTF2 IS GREAT! its what I'm gonna try to work towards... don't know if i'll make it though..
@DaltonRH Recruiting begins at the beginning of April. They had 92 positions open this year. All filled. Combat Arms fill up insanely quick. I tried for artillery, 72 positions, they had only 48 left after six days. So they are still recruiting infantry, just your chances of getting in are slim.
Do you have to be physically fit before basic training? And is the training the same for reservists? I'm thinking of joining the reserves while i finish Uni,
No. When you are done you will be. I did my BMQ at Valcartier Quebec, when I finished I was in the best shape of my life.
Caroline Whitehead Hello Caroline, they will make you do 12-15 sit ups under 1 minute, you have to climb the stairs up and down and they will sure your heart rate, they will make you squeeze this device to see how much force you can generate with both hands. Hearing test, vision test, body check, chest x-ray, and interview, after that they will decide if you are a good candidate. The real fitness starts when you do your BMQ (2 months for the non-commissioned and 3 months for the officers) and SQ (5 weeks).
Yes you will have to be fit before you join because if your not you'll be in training for ever
Not exactly but you’ll definitely have people making it seem harder then it really is just ignore them
Sa S you have to able to do push ups, pull ups, and carry heavy shit. Other than that no.
I really like the fact that every canadian military member goes to the same basic training.
For those who say the training looks weak; you have no clue what you're talking about lol. I graduated my BMQ course back in 2015 and let me tell you; the training wasn't close to weak or easy. It was nonstop physical training, lots of yelling and marching. Double timing it everywhere lol. Id really like to see those people who said this training looks weak go and join the army themselves. And come back and tell us what you think then.
Justin Keeper can you bring makeup?
Justin Keeper right on man
Your name is PatriotUSA and you have a Canadian forces promoting video, I respect you sir.. ;)
When I was in the USAF/ANG, I had the opportunity to interact with some of the members of the CF. They're a small force but as professional as anyone I can think of. I think the integrated force training, where everyone gets the same basic training before going on to Army/RCN/RCAF specific training, is a good idea. There are so many discrepancies between basic training of the five separate US armed forces; I think Canada has the right idea.
Any one who wants to join the Canadian Forces, Must have full Canadian citizenship not half not quarter full or you aint joining shit.
Darth Pariah It does make sure everyone has the same basic ground work to build from. But this is only done due to unification in 1968. Prior to that the three branches of the armed forces conducted their basics seperatly. But in most army units it is not uncommon to find Air Force and Naval element personnel in the logistical area of the unit.
***** I don't see what your point is. I was never IN the CF, but sometimes the USAF trained with the RCAF. I remember the Canadians being extremely professional at what they did, and they could turn and burn their CF-18's with the best. Didn't you get it that I was trying to PRAISE the CF?
Thanato I have read a lot about Defence Minister Paul Hellyer and how he basically ruined the three services' traditions by forcing them into the same green uniform and how much resentment there was about that, especially from naval and air personnel. It took a long time to sort out, but now with the services getting their traditional names back, and DEU's in the '80s, it seems like the CF has kept the better parts of unification and discarded the not-so-good parts.
That would never happen here in the US. The Marine Corps especially would shit bricks sideways at the thought of unification!
Darth Pariah Well they still dont like to admit that the USMC is under the Department of the Navy and given it's budget through the USN.
My boot camp, in 1962 was 16 weeks... today i'm persuaded that i'm still in good health because of it.
if i am from usa can i join canada millertary? i have a passport and I love mapel serup and canadian music.
ive always dreamed of bein a mountie. so bad ass!!!
Harmer Garmer You need a Canadian Citizenship
Just saying not all Canadians like maple syrup I'm Canadian myself and I kind of like it and Canadian music is the same thing as American music
You can get your visor in the correct prescription for you. Any eye-wear the CF provides can be adjusted to your eye sight.
Would it be a really bad idea or even allowed to join this if you have depression and serious anxiety issues that you take medication for?
I have pretty much no options in my life, I'm 14,000 dollars in debt and have basically nothing. I work commission and am not making enough money to live.
Also this might seem like kind of a stupid question but would a medic do basic, or some separate specialized training?
c bones Everyone does basic. Trade training happens after.
Gotcha thanks.
Sorry to hear that mate. You gotta sort yourself out prior to joining up.
Yes I got a lot of sorting out to do.
c bones you have to be off medications before you enlist.
Up to your specific RSM. Some allow non-issued kit others dont.
I want to be forced to train like this...currently in Calgry with a permanet resident card...Can someone give me guides ?
yeah. force yourself
I am a retired US Marien. My family is Canadian since it was part of la belle France. I have fought alongside the Canadan forces (and with the Canadan forces). Man for man, women for woman there is absolutely no difference in their spirit than that of the Unosted States. They have will and grit. ... and they are the only ones in the world that fought the United States to a stand still in 1812.
Women should shave their head too. *"YOU WILL SHAVE YOUR HEAD FOR HYGENE AND SO THE ENEMY WONT BE ABLE TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEAD BY GRABBING YOUR HAIR"*
Why are women exempt from this?
Bald chicks r ugly
Sam Newborn well that’s just sad u think that
@@vigilantgopher9563 LOL!
Shaving their head used to be a punishment for women.
@@konstantinosnikolakakis8125 how is that a punishment?
@95ellington My room is messy as hell too... however I survived Basic... Trades Courses... and got a Tour in... There is a spot for everything you need in that Room so you just gotta keep it clean and dust free.

id love and enjoy to be in are military as a construction technician however i dont think im motivated enough to be yelled at if there in wrinkles in my sheets
+jake lagace cool story.
If you can't handle a little yelling, you probably won't do well when it gets difficult.
jake lagace I’m not motivated enough to do push-ups.
respect to the canadian forces and I'm canadian but planning to join the US marines because the marines were apart of my family since ww2 but was always interested in the canadian army.
Did you join
I've cleaned a lot for an militaries but not Canadians yet I hope for the opportunity in the future
Canada's army may be small, but we are fearless fighters. In the case of a war, more men and woman would sign up to protect our country. Also, America and Canada both have good militaries, theres no need for useless comparisons, though America's is much larger. (I myself am Canadian.)
@MrZakkD Everyone during training is armed with a C7, because it's the standard Canadian service rifle. However, some may get a model equiped with a folding stock, or a fixed, it depends.
Usually support members in an infantry squad, typically the strongest guys, get the light machine gun, as it is HEAVY.
I want to join the Army, only problem is that I can't swim. :/
+bart0n24 I've got most of the basics but I can't breathe well when swimming in deep water.
+Martin Roldan are you for real
+Vivital29 #asthmaproblems
i thought you meant actually breathing underwater without scuba gear or anything lol
Me either i can't swim but im planning to join
@renactfilms yup you will do 1 month BMQ then 1 month SQ (basic military qualification and soldier qualification.)
My BMQ is in 24 days.
How long did it take you after your aptitude testing to receive a phone call
Army.ca
Every application is different. A year is average. It takes a long time..
Thanks for the info Ive been waiting for a few months since my aptitude testing.
Thanks, 15 days to go...
I definitely recommend reading/signing up for army.ca, youll learn new things every day.
Also, if youre out of shape like me, fix it. I lost 15 pounds in 10 days. Run at least 3k a day, and make sure you can run 1km in 5-6 mins max.
Jeproductions You will probably be in the same class as one of my best friends!
Much love from your brothers in the south.
I wanted to blow stuff up she says hahaha 😂
The C7 is only in service with the Navy. The C7A1 was replaced starting in 2004ish with the C7A2 which is the current service rifle.
Canadians :)
i ship out on april 21st this year for basic training so stoked and terrified at the same time...
So women don't have to shave there head.... ok
True should be equal for women & men
Physical standards are different too. The minimum requirement changes based on age and gender, so if you are a young man you're up for the worst standard.
Bald women are ugly. Bald men are bad ass.
thanks for the info i can do all the physical part but the 5k run gotta start running some more and less on the xbox and youtube
I could join the military, but GMod MilitaryRP is more fun
I'm still thinking things through, but so far I think this is what I want to do. I'm a little nervous, but everytime I think long and hard about it I see myself serving for my great country
I'm interested but militaries are cultish. The chants, uniforms, blind obedience, etc. It makes me nervous, afraid of being brainwashed.
meh BMQ is nothing like the actual military. once you are qualified in your trade things calm down. there are things that stay like timings and dress and deportment plus more but its great i have been in for almost 7 years reg force.
Hi I just like to ask if its physically tough? Like for example I can jog for only 800 meters to 1 km, am I going to fail??
f50koenigg as long as u try and show it you will be ok even if u r falling behind juat do ur best to not stop and show u r determined to do ur best. sorry short answer on a course right now lol
if you can barely jog a km I would train for a long while before joining.
crawl theking you are right thanks. That is actually i am doing right now is to improve my cardio.
@ROTTIMAN31 its SQ, its called BMQ land now for some reason
don't worry canada...you always have your big brother
hahaha
lol "vice admiral Robert Harward, a US Navy SEAL, stated that the JTF2 team under his command was his first choice for any direct action" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_Task_Force_2 lol Come get some brother...
NATO always Calls in the CF into combat first because you pathetic americans only want to blow shit up. nuff said
Braiden Godfrey ...and then
we come and save you.
Yeah a big brother who drags our ass into war because he can't handle him damnself and his big mouth so we have to piss our tax dollars away in a war we didn't even start......thanks bro.
Your country is owned by china
The questions is, is the Military something YOU are looking for. If you are 18 and in post secondary or currently have a job, consider joining the Army Reserves. Army reserves usually train once a week unless you're doing BMQ then it's either every weekend untill you graduate or 1 summer than you graduate. Army reserves is absolutely a great and fun experience.
iv done most of this training in my cadet career so far. i hope the cadets helped me for the military
@EggoDeWaffles well actually canada dose have JTF-2 which is suppose to be teir 1 so like seal team 6 or delta force. There is also a teir 2 special forces so they would be like the army rangers.
@luke34578 That's part of a speach an officer gave us on our QL2 when I joined the CF.
Marines are an element of a Military that train specifically to be launched from the sea towards land. They specialize in Amphibious operations and in the establishments of Beach heads etc. No unit in the Canadian Forces matches that description.
We do have the ability to operate on the Water, however that is mainly for inland operations such as construction or destruction of bridges etc. And to cross lakes via assault boats. But not for the expressed purpose of Launching from a Ship off shore
great video i loved watching it but if ur weak do u get sent home or what happens if u fail at some things?
Basic training is one of the hardest things you will go through... until you adjust from Civilian life to Military Life. Once you make that adjustment you will realize it is really really really easy. They tell you when to eat, sleep, etc. Where to be and when. How this and that will look. It's a fun game to play.
I'm excited to :D. I've read that if the CF is hiring at the time and you meet the qualifications then its almost a 100% chance you'll get hired. IDK what their going to do about school though, you're normally still in grade 12 when you're 18 so.
The reserves is meant as a part time basis, for people like me and you who still go to school. We train once a week and 1 weekend a month. I did my basic training on weekends, fri, sat and sun, it took me around 5 months, or you can do basic in the summer which is 9 weeks.
What about for your job training?
@@davidmendez5050 full time courses are usually done in the summer months (June to august-ish), unless you get put on course with the reg force, then those courses may happen anytime throughout the year
I head out next month for my basic training. I am super pumped.
Just so people know.. The Canadian Basic Training is one of the best Basic Army Training systems in the world.. It is without a doubt in the top 3.
Alright, thanks for that! Any other advice would be great.
Thanks for the advice. I'll make a call to a recruiter tomorrow and see whats up :) Thanks again!
JTF2 is top tier special operations. They are door kickers not Marines, Marines are the land element of the Navy. They launch from ships to set up a beach head for either more Marines or Army units to move inland. They are not at the same level as JTF2 or CSOR.
@jared71322 Its the Canadian Forces, like the US Military, Russian Military and German Military... the Special Forces is much more difficult with sometimes single digits passing selection.
~Thanato
I am going to join, im just debating between weapons technician or infantry.
@TheCamperCarl When I was in the sand box, my training required me to jump on a live pressure plate IED.
People who make up stories try to make them sound more impressive and modern.
The Canadian Forces does not have an infantry combat force designated to Amphibious operations. The Navy is also known as Marine in French. We have the RCN, RCAF, and Army.
~Thanato
Fair enough :) You guys didn't give us enough time to get there. You swept in and got out before we knew the party even started. lol
@95ellington
You definitley can't do it with you're attitude. Start picking up after yourself. Start doing push ups. Start running. The longer you wait the harder it will be.
P.S. I don't know if you were implying on planning to join the CF but anywho.
Canadian Forces have 13 weeks of Basic training and trade courses are not included. In order for a soldier to get fully trained, it depends on the trades but usually take about more than half a year upto a full year. whereas US army for example only takes less than couple months and shipped to overseas, which explains the high casualty rates of US soldiers and bad reputations.
I am applying for the CAF. It doesn’t matter with the comparisons!! We should support eachother as neighbors and celebrate in the achievement of being that small percent who are able to serve our countries proudly and with confidence! It’s annoying the comparisons! Both are tough in their own ways even if they are a bit different!
I’m applying for the CAF as well how is it lemme know 😊
It is what you apply for for example you can apply as an infantry soldier or you can apply as an infantry officer.
I watched this then the US Army training summary and this is much more practical training and a lot more PT it seems
Respect from Brazil guys!
@TheCallofdutymaster7 So...you're suggesting that the US military doesn't continue to train AFTER basic training? If that were the case, I wouldn't be about to spend 3.5 months at Camp Atterbury, Indiana for combat skills training.
fitness is pretty good. sit-ups, running, swimming, no problem but i can't do a lot of push-ups. do you suggest going to college/university first? because i don't know if it's better for me to join earlier or until i've gotten a degree. sorry to bother you with so many questions :P
Thanks for the reply. Yeah that does seem kinda low. But I understand that you don't join for the enormous paycheck. My fitness shouldn't be a problem, what branch/field did you go in? Any regrets so far?
Oh this video brings back memories to me when I was in basic training. PT (gym class) was the easiest part for me (and I'm far from being an athlete), it's the drill and keeping your kit in order that was the hardest.
It was quite the culture shock. It's fun to watch a movie like "Full Metal Jacket" and laugh at Private Pyle, but while in basic, I was so befuddled that I made that character seem competent, lol.
@TheMeanSgtPlaysPiano Remember....part of the CF training process is to put you under pressure and see how you respond. You are young. If there is one piece of advice I can give you it is this....keep your mouth shut. It may not seem so at first, but everything your instructors do has a point to it. If you make it through basic and trades training you will be training young soldiers in a few years.....learn from your experience, become the best soldier you can be. Best of luck.
@meatbag007 Actually, the vast majority of recruits will go to St. Jean. Then you get sent to other bases for trades qualification,
@NathanPathan I think whatever you want to do in the army you need your basic training first ... so yeah, I think you have to do this to be whatever you want to be (medic, layer, nurse... etc.) but i'm not sure ...
No, then you go do your tradws training. Infantry training is another 17+ weeks. However trades trainging varies based on trade.
@Nitroszmirage But i thought it was CanadianSpecialForcesOperationsRegiment? But then again i've heard alot different! You seem to know quite a bit about the Canadian Forces, Are you a member?
The most a soldier could carry is 150, and that is really pushing it. Mainly supplies for an extended stay in the woods with out resupply. Most soldiers can carry anywhere between 50-100 pounds with a rucksack, because most soldiers don't carry more then 3 days supplies.
