Hear so many complaints about trash along the Camino, don't hear the complainers makeing effort to pick up some trash. I aways have a extra bag with me for trash pick up, where ever I am in the world. Thank you for encouraging others to pick up the trash with your stick.
I just completed the central route this way out of Porto. I quite enjoyed it. It was straightforward and easy to leave. Not like leaving Oviedo for example. I started on a Sunday and I quite enjoyed seeing urban life in Porto coming alive in the morning. Especially the elderly people who were out early for their coffees and chats. They were very supportive with many Bom Caminhos. Plus it was nice and quiet as everyone seemed to have decided to go out on the coast.
So glad you're doing the Camino Portuguese again. I followed your route out of Porto along the river and coast last year and that day was Amazing!! Switched to the central for the rest and loved it too. I'm going back to do the coastal and the Spiritual variant and Finisterra that I missed. Your videos are being watched again and again. Thanks for the great information! Safe travels for you and your family ❤❤
I have just completed the central route, but from Porto followed the Litoral Route along the river & up the coast, before cutting in land to Vairo. I would recommend this route, as it avoids the unattractive suburbs of Porto. I also took the Spiritual Variant - which I would also recommend. You can see a video of my Camino on my TH-cam channel.
Great video! Though I don't have any desire to do the Central (I'll never get tired of the Litoral though, ever), this is awesome to watch. I really loved that we got to see your family in the opening! 🥰
So great to see your doing the central. Thats my next camino too. I did the senda Literal with spiritual variant last year and absolutely loved it. My plan for the central was to walk the coastal to Vila do conde and then cross from there to Rates on the central. Either that or taxi to Vilarinho and start walking from there. If I have the time I will start coastal then cross over. Your such a pro now lol with a personal fan and ac. Love it.
Loved this video!! Great seeing your family and your son is adorable. Nathan and I plan to do the Portuguese route next September when we will be in better shape😀. Looking forward to these videos. Stay strong and have fun in Japan. ❤️
Vamos a hacer el Portugues en Octubre 2024 despues de haber caminado el Frances completo hace 2 años, y tus videos nos encantan Efren Gracias por tanto ..Buen Camino
Finally! I have been waiting for this episode for the Camino Portuguese central. I have seen many videos of the central route and believe it looks to be more scenic. It would have been great if you did the Camino as a family. I had watched a channel who attempted to do the Camino with their family but we lost interest when they failed to complete the trip due to several family dropping out.
There is a detour to get off the busy route N-306 in my guidebook. Looks like you didn’t have that. I don’t think I can post a photo, but it’s 2.8 km after Vilar. At the bakery/stoplight, turn right onto a cobblestone road. It was marked when I did the road in 2019. Much better than the busy road in the video.
We just finished our Camino Frances ans our next one will be the Portugues Way. We loved our Camino and enjoyed watching your vlog and are considering September 2025. Cannot stand the amount of trash people drop. Great Samaritan Efrén. Thank you for taking us along. Buen Camino.
Great to see you on the Central route. I have done the coastal, so I very much appreciate your comparisons. Helps med decide whether I will do the central as well.
Hello Efrén G..thank you so much for all your videos and intricate important tips of all your walks ..we enjoy them heartily and I get so much energy and motivation for your good drones captures..views of many sweet medieval towns…My eyes does the walking with your….excellent présentation of yr videos..🙏🙏We enjoy your super sense of humour 😊🤗thanks Camino Friend Efrén..you are Awesome Vlogger!👍
I must admit, I'm amazed at how much stuff you are carrying - especially as you are shipping your main luggage ahead of you! I carried all my stuff in my rucksack, and it was still lighter than you day sack!
Colleen and I walked the Litoral starting August 4 and arriving in Santiago the 17th. Made our way to Le Puy and walked back ti Santiago arriving October 23. What an adventure.
I started on the 14th august from Porto. Saw on instagram that you were somewhere behind me. Hoped that you catch up to me :D I will enjoy your camino portugues videos (Y)
You’re funny 😂 watching keenly for stages from Barcelos as I’m doing Senda Litoral to Viana do castelo then crossing over to central and continuing from barcelos with my daughter next May-June .. Bom Caminho matey
Hi Efren, I'm so glad I found your channel! Beautiful video! I am set to be doing the Camino Portugues, my first Camino starting next month! I was originally planning on doing the full 620km from Lisbon but it seems like there are very few alburgues along the route until you get to Porto, plus I only have a few weeks to Camino! Would you recommend starting from Porto? (I will still have a few days in Lisbon!) Also, how is it to walk the Camino on one's own? Thank you for sharing!
welcome to the channel. I've only done the section from Porto but will walk from Lisbon one day. most pilgrims start in Porto and as you know you can follow the coast or the central route. as for walking on your own, don't worry, really. most people start on their own and end up in a Camily. the caminos in Europe are super safe. I feel safer there than here in the States. Buen Camino.
Thank you for your excellent video, I have walked the Ingles and just back from the Portuguese coastal. So wanting to go back, I'm going to do the central this September. Your video has really helped preparing. Regarding the coAstal, I'm afraid I did find parts too windy and dare I say monotonous (sorry) but managed to cross inland in places. Agree the spiritual variant is wonderful. Thank you. Any plans to do a walk from Lisbon?
I agree with you about Day 1 i like the litoral better. Um. I saw you brought a few toys with you! Well. I dont blame you. Heat is no joke! Buen camino!
And i love seeing your family supporting this crazy lil thing called camino we’ll are obsessed about…. And heat yeap. I walked the litoral last year last 2 weeks of june and last couple of days to Santiago were a bit unbearable even though heat doesnt bother my southamerican blood that much….
Got a treadmill and TV in my garage, and I love walking while watching your videos. Question for you and anyone who sees this that's done the camino: How do you readjust to life back home? Just doesn't feel the same without walking every day, which is hard to do with a full time job.
Efrain, It is nice to see you again doing a Camino again! Can you please send me a list of the albergues in the coastal route Camino Portuguez. I am walking that Camino in April 2024. Thank you so much 🙏😊
Hey Brother! love your videos! I've done a few caminos myself; but quick question? How is the Camino during the fall? I am looking to just spend a few days (8-11) during October; I love fall season and I am definitely will be doing it.Any tips will help!! Thank you man!
There are a few jumping points along the costal route where you can walk to the central. One of the most popular is once you reach the river crossing to Spain in camiña
I walked the usual distances that I'm accustomed to. I had my luggage transfer, so I didn't have to carry a lot of weight, and I did have a hiking hat and an umbrella.
Thanks!
wow thank you so much

I do the same.
I do litter picking here in the UK, taking a grabber is a great idea.

Thank you so much Lucie
Thanks for helping the environment
Thank you so much Janice!!!!

Lovely family Efren. Loving your new stamps too! Looking forward to these videos.
Efren gets his own Camino stamp 😂😂😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

So excited to see another one of your Camino’s, I’ve been hooked since the first. Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful intro to your family!! Hope they had a great time!
I'm going to do my first camino 2025 with a couple of old friends, can't wait.
Want another peregrino?

Thanks Efren. Just off on my 9th in 10 days and, as always, surviving between Camino’s on your adventures. Much appreciated.
Great to see your beautiful family. What a treat!
..wow😀...there will be something to watch....buen camino Efren👍
How wonderful to see your family.
Excited to be seeing your Via de La Plata series! You’re living my dream btw and I’m horribly jealous. 😩😃👍
Thank you so much. The best thing about dreams is that you can make them a reality.

I appreciate your suggestion to help keep the Camino clean and to pick up litter. 👍🏼

Loved this one as usual. Thanks for showing us your family! Hoping to do this Camino next year so I'll pay close attention to this series!
Your new thumbnail style is excellent!

Nice to see your lovely family. I really hope that one day you can convince them to walk with you.
Great to see you on the Central route. I have done the coastal, so I very much appreciate your comparisons. Helps med decide whether I will do the central as well.
Efrén, you are the best…Thank you…
no, you are!
Great video. Love it!!
Your wife is beautiful! And your son is adorable!!
Another great video! Thank you for comparing the coastal route with central Camino. I am planning to bike one of them and will decide soon!

Beautiful family, Efren! Nice video. In less than a month, I will start my Camino Portuguese, and I'm really not sure which route I will take.
Thank you. I hope this series helps you decide.

wow
Long walk for us. Colleen is 70. I will.he 72 in a few days.
You are all set for the Shikoku Henro
Nicely put together.
I started on the 14th august from Porto.
Saw on instagram that you were somewhere behind me.
Hoped that you catch up to me :D
I will enjoy your camino portugues videos (Y)
Oh wow yes I started two days after you. Check out the screen grab of my itinerary on the vlog and let me know if I caught up with you.
Is it not too hot in August?
@@ТатьянаГомза-ю7п it was about 24 to 29 degrees celsius. Near the coast its not very hot.

the litoral is the way to go for sure. Without the two fans I don't know if I would have survived the heat. it's getting crazy hot in Europe.

October us the end of the season, so you have to keep an eye out for albergues closing. I did the Frances on an ebike, and it was perfect weather.
By the way, this route starts in Lisbon.
For some, yes, but Porto is also a popular starting point.
Yup.
August is the least busy month on the Caminho Português (Central).
Not this record-breaking year.
Do you know what is the route that people do when they do a part of the coast and a part of the central?
There are a few jumping points along the costal route where you can walk to the central. One of the most popular is once you reach the river crossing to Spain in camiña
So, how do i become a paid subscriber? Is it the Trail-magic donation page? Thank you.
Thank you so much. You can find the links on the video's description. Here is the one for the channel membership: bit.ly/34CuY8l
Why was it a nightmare in May?
Too many pilgrims started around the same time
Good video, background music was too loud, couldn't hear what you were saying
how many hours a day on average were you walking? too many things to carry. why didn't you use a hiking hat with wide brim
I walked the usual distances that I'm accustomed to. I had my luggage transfer, so I didn't have to carry a lot of weight, and I did have a hiking hat and an umbrella.
For some reason the music in this video was louder than you.
How to tell you’re from Miami: you call every aquarium a “seaquarium”. There’s only one of those mi hermano 😜
and I've never visited lol
So whats your opinion.
