I'll add my thanks to the other viewers. What a great idea to show us all three routes in one video! You have confirmed what I have decided; I'll begin on May 4th on the Litoral Way. Your efforts are much appreciated!
This was a perfect tutorial video. You made it very informative with the small details at the start of the morning walk.. I start my walk at the end of April. NOW IT'S DECISION TIME ! Very helpful video!
The video shows a three-day walk from Porto, examining the Central, Coastal, and Litoral Camino routes, providing detailed maps and explanations. Thumbs up👍😍TFS
thanks for your explanations and video. I will start my camino on the 1st of June and my route of choice will be the litoral until Vila do Conde. I will try to start very early in the morning to avoid the sun. I hope also to avoid the wind that normally shows up in the afternoon.
Thanks so much for this great video explaining the 3 different routes out of Porto! It's a little confusing when the Coastal route basically goes inland, and the Litoral is actually the one that goes along the coast, so thanks for clarifying that...most helpful! Would you say one could hike the Litoral in May without having reservations, but still find a guest house or hotel the same day?
Glad it was helpful! May is one of the most popular months to walk the Camino. It might be difficult to find well-priced private rooms in smaller towns along the coast. If you don't mind staying in dormitories sometimes (in case you can't find private) then you don't have to book. If you prefer hotels I'd suggest checking in advance. In bigger towns you should be able to find a place on a day but in small towns it might be better to book in advance as there are limited options. Buen Camino
Why do more people choose the central route if the coastal route is more 'scenic'? (i.e. by the sea, more nature) Also, what were your reasons for prefering the scenery of the norte over the coastal portugese route?
So you walked the Litoral way from Porto in May 2023? I ask as I am trying to plan my first Camino & 1st Portuguese Camino independently from here in Sydney Australia. So I’m wondering is it better to walk in Mid June or July🤔 Thanks for suggestions and advice.
Yes, I walked the Litoral Way end of May. I'd say June is overall a better month to visit Europe. July and August are the hottest and the busiest months here. Along the Coastal Route hotels and guesthouses get expensive and fully booked albergues will be your best option.
The Coastal Route goes inland till Vila do Conde. The Litoral Way goes along the Douro River and then along the coast. Please, don't mislead people if you don't possess the correct information. There are official route markers and signs. I walked all the routes myself and know what I'm talking about. Buen Camino

Useful, thank you.
Sounds great, great to see you back once again!
Hey, thanks!
Heyy, welcome back!
Thank you so much for this! We leave in 67 days for Oporto, and will be taking the Senda Litoral!
Thank you for the comment. Good luck and Buen Camino@
It’s Porto NOT Oporto!😊
@@brigidspencer5123 “Oporto” is the Portuguese spelling. Like “Roma” is Rome in Italy.

the best route from the city of oporto is not to walk it, but start at airport or skip it by streetcar.
Der Küstenweg beginnt an der Kathedrale in Porto, Treppe zum Fluss und dann zum Atlantik.... nicht durch Porto....

Showing maps was a bit helpful..but you are filming for scenery ..not helping other walkers. I was disappointed.
