- On the 9th of August 2023, I embarked on a solo pilgrimage from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela, continuing to Fisterra and Muxia. This video captures just a tiny fraction of the experiences and thoughts from my 27-day journey through Spain under the scorching August sun. From the rugged Pyrenees, deserted Meseta, and lush forests of Galicia to the historic streets of Santiago, and onward to the edge of the world at Fisterra and Muxia, each step revealed new layers of magic, gratitude, and wonder.

I have done 3 caminos La Plata, del norte and to the Portuguese, and I am going to do the longest one, from Cap de Creus to Finisterra in a few weeks, it will be brutal.

Thank you, Mark! I completely agree, walking early in the morning was also my favourite time on the Camino. It was definitely challenging for me, as I’m not the bravest person, and walking alone in the dark was quite daunting. However, it was also the most magical part, being alone with my thoughts, with all senses heightened, and feeling like part of a parallel universe before dawn. The magical sunrises I witnessed along the way were truly unmatched! 🌅✨
@@liola2002 Yes, despite the equalities of the modern age I understand that walking alone in the dark is still an activity that might not feel as safe for women as for men. On the other hand I know women who would not engage in any solo activity day or night for fear, and clearly there are many women floggers who seem astoundingly fearless. In my experience the human mind is able to adapt to levels of risk very quickly and very often I recall my own adventures and experience fear in the recollection of an adventure in which I was fearless at the time, proving I quickly adapt to risk and then the comforts of home quickly reduce that adaption. I always feel some level of fear and anxiety before an adventure until I get into the adventure lifestyle. But if there were no fear there would be no adventure. A strange symbiosis between fear and adventure!

Oh Olga, I rewatched the part from Galicia to the end twice and finishing with tears in my eyes each time. What a beautiful person you are with such a deep sense of love for life. I'm lucky to know you! The sunflower metaphor for life's expectations, the Camino metaphor for life and the end, oh that end, that pulls on all heartstrings in the most pure way. What a beautiful film. You have a real talent for depicting the highs and lows, the feelings of elation and the times of almost despair that are all part of the Camino. I walked my Camino 5 years ago and I think about it almost every day. I remember the mental challenge of the Meseta but I also remember vividly the beautiful towns and villages, the gorgeous people that I shared the journey with and the astonishing beauty of Galicia with it's sensation of walking on clouds. Hi Olga, literally I am in tears, I tried Camino de Santiago last two weeks ago for a day. I had my first solo trip in León where I accidentally booked a hostel for the pilgrims and met such a beautiful soul who introduced me with the other pilgrims and decided to cancel my other vacations and joined them. It was one of my awesome days I really loved and enjoyed it. However something happened that I have to postpone it. My heart abd soul are in tears leaving the camino. But I promised to be back soon on November for a couple of days to practice but next year I planned to do it longer. Thanks for your video I learned a lot 🙏. The Camino will always provide and I really felt and experienced that. Beautiful experience

I loved watching Your Camino, truly one of the best that I have watched! What amazing sunflowers and beautiful sunrises! Did you have to make a reservation for the Ermita de San Nicolas? I will be beginning my Camino in 1 month and am so excited and nervous at the same time. I am much older therefore hope to start around seven( afraid of being alone in the dark!) and much shorter stages and rest days included to truly enjoy my 1st adventure upon retirement. Thank you for making this lovely film . It was so beautifully produced especially how you integrated the music. My friend from the US living in Portugal did this walk in spring 2022 and her challenge was snow and rain. Also the other bigger issue that you didn’t seem to struggle with was the poor sleep quality due to people going to bed at 9:00pm and getting up at 3:00am .I’m afraid to do this walk due to a knee problem . Thanks.
