I love seeing people discuss the meaning behind POTF's music. It's true poetry - there is never one TRUE meaning to a song. It's all about the person and what they get out of it and how they can relate to it. It's so great seeing so many different people's thoughts. POTF truly has an amazing fan following.

I have heard this song probably a hundred+ times, but now, listening to it after many years - it has a new significance to me - it seems to hint at the truth I found myself - that when it seems like "the ships is sinking", when it seems there needs to be a "hero to save the day", when people are "taking up arm" to fight something that seems threatening them outside of themselves... we can just find a solution in all the emptiness, because its inside us - it has always been there... we are just so obsessed with finding the heroes, villains, feeling like the ship is sinking, finding solutions to an emptiness, that is actually not outside at all ... we are so busy with the "problem" that we never realize it was never there. The problem IS us looking for the problem, instead of looking at the solution within.

It's really a great pleasure for my ears to hear this song anywhere and at any moment. That hero, would have to keep on...even if,little by little...he saw, that the corruption was so bad...the actions being taken,he realised, became the fall of his country...because,no one thought, what they loved, what they had so much of...the wealth of it's country, was mostly because of that corruption...he'd have to watch it all fall apart...because the wealth of it...was the wealth the corrupt brought...because we never stopped to ask, never stopped to think,hey...how do we have so much...how...where's it come from...how do they get it...is someone suffering because of all we have...we just asked,demanded...until the country was inbedded with the blood of others across the word...but as long as we're good...by the fruits you shall recognize them...we are rotten...that man who rises...would have to follow those corrupt...catch them...and see,how the country fall apart, because the reaction was inevitable...far spread...it collapses the country...catching corruption is when all the dominoes fall...us within the dominos...are we prepared to face the reality of knowing, were all corrupt???

Hido Kanashima Events recur when the people stay the same. 'This state of affairs' was probably a sometimes thing in Rome and Sumer too.

Really we need a hero very much rn. Someone who we can look up to during these tough times, as I feel like God has forsaken us...

This song took me instantly to the world of Poets of the Fall. I am definitely not a fan of "lighter" rock, but Poets of the Fall is a fine band and keeps doing pretty awesome stuff!
