The bulk of the purchase price is to secure the mooring, not the vessel itself. The boat itself is probably worth between a quarter and a third of the total asking price.
Although it is a bargain for a five bedroom home in downtown London, which as that man said, average £4,000,000 to £5,000,000, whereas this one is under £2,000,000
I literally run home from work just so I can watch you guys content in peace, been subscribed since you guys hit 25k and I'm loving the channel more and more
@@mitchellbooth9332 those are billionares and millionares. they buy for leisure not to permanently live there. Im sure were talking about common people
I must admit I was not expecting that. Could see myself having breakfast on the roof terrace on a nice day, so yes I would live on this. Am going back years but I used to like the look of this boat & did wonder what it was like on the inside. Going to work on a jet ski Matt? That sounds like the best idea! The only potential downside would perhaps be rising water levels.
I like and prefer Summer to talk in your videos, it makes them seem more fun when you’re joking with each other and talking, I couldn’t hear summer in this video!
Wow guys how imaginative and interesting I love how unique this boat house is. Loved this how unusual and different and what lovely interior design. Not my taste of interior design but I admire it👏👏👏😊🙌🙏
What I noticed here is that there is a central heating system with radiators, but there are also lots of additional freestanding heaters. Guess that boat gets pretty chilly in the winter huh?
The houseboat is really nice and spacious, and I see this as an option for a person who has everything or wants a unique living experience. I am much more interested in the apartments overlooking the river, than a boat moored on it.
So proud of you guys for finally breaking 100k!!! Woohoo 😁 it's about time you guys got the recognition! The switch up on constant content and variety of properties has deffo helped! And it's great that you really listen to the audience! Congrats guys keep smashing it 👍💯🎉🎉🎉
There is a spite house in Shepard’s Bush that is or was recently for sale. It’s less than seven feet wide. I would LOVE to see you guys do a video there! I don’t think the pics online do it justice.
No mention of the mooring fees? As with most London houseboats, a significant portion of the sale price is just to secure the right to moor there- this is perhaps a £300,000 to £400,000 vessel with a transferable mooring worth over a million- however you don't own the mooring, just the right to rent it, often at a cost of several tens of thousands of pound per year. Ongoing costs for this would therefore be astronomical.
He did mention the mooring charges at the start of the video and that it's freehold. Access included to the facilities in the building next door, including parking.
#lala Yes, he said freehold, but went on to say access to the facilities "comes along with the mooring charges". I am not aware of any London residential moorings that don't incur substantial mooring charges, although I will be pleasantly surprised if there are.
#lala Further to my last comment- looking at the estate agents brochure there is mention of an estimated annual charge of £6000 for mooring and maintenance (of communal facilities presumably) which is significantly cheaper than other residential moorings in London but not insignificant!
Helge ron Approx £6000 per annum according to the brokers literature. Actually cheap for London where a residential mooring for regular narrowboat can be in excess of £15,000 per year.
Pretty impressive... however, hidden costs like mooring fees, maintenance fees like blacking the boat and hauling it out onto the dry dock once every 7 years and possibly engine maintenance to keep her ‘seaworthy’ should be considered. Most houseboats sell for a loss - even those with amenities attached on the mooring site. It’s also hard to get mortgage or a loan for a houseboat. All in all - I reckon it’s pretty hard to get in or out of the houseboat property market unless you have a lot of spare cash floating around.
andrew berry £6000 per year according to the estate agents brochure. Cheap, as residential moorings in London go, but that's probably because this is freehold so you're only paying for the use of facilities, not the use of the space (it sounds as if you will actually own the plot, likely just a piece of riverbed)
That channel is growing so rapidly I remember when it was on 10k
This house is really cool and big to be a boat but I do think it’s a bit too expensive for a boat. Great video guys 👍🏼
Agreed, but because it’s in London - it’s going to be more expensive

If you're reading this you have potential to create great things and maybe one day you'll have a place like this. Yes. You.
Early squad, your guys channel is growing a lot but the end of the year you will probs be at 1million

I love it! Can imagine myself sitting on the deck with a glass of wine looking at the river!
It's definitely interesting. Bigger than I expected
I’m surprised it even looked like that from the inside, I didn’t imagine that grand look
Who the hell wants to spend £ 1 million on a fricken boat ? Lol
People spend millions on boats, even billions.
Good question. 🤣🤣🤣
@@mitchellbooth9332 I think he meant on a house boat which in fairness I wouldn't too a super yacht is a different story
@@mitchellbooth9332 those are billionares and millionares. they buy for leisure not to permanently live there. Im sure were talking about common people
It's London, people spend hundreds of thousands on box sized apartments, so why not a boat with tons of space.
Surprised how big the bedrooms were but how would you get mail?
Wasim Perviz Reaidential moorings have a postal address in just the same way a house does.

Beautiful barge but can you imagine the cost to take the boat out every 3 years to get the hull checked and blackened!
I did not expect so much space in this boat....great vid as usual
Loved the walkthrough, that boat is huge!
That's a nope from me. I like to be living on solid ground.
The videos just get better and better!!!!!!
I love this. Short term. Holiday maybe. Great video 🤍
I use to work around here - always use to try and peak inside the boats. Love the vid x
id never buy a houseboat. id rather a yacht for this price :P
Agreed.
Below deck is my show
Another great episode to come to after work thank you
I live by Clapham junction next to the river and l have been always sooooooooo curious what these type of houses look like!! THANK YOU

Wow a big boat looks like house inside 😊
I love how I found this channel from tiktok and now i watch them on a daily basis
The size is amazing for a houseboat!
First to watch it was amazing x

The mooring fees alone needs serious thought.

Could you do more in the sw?? Love the new content btw xx
I do prefer when matt starts the tour
but the tour should be 50/50 with summer
Imagine ordering an Uber Eats right to your boat...I mean house, lol x
Is the boat affected by tides?
Oooo interesting...cant wait to see
Do you know whether the house boat needs the hull backing and what the hull is made off?
Soap
house in brighton please!
That houseboat is bigger than the majority of the apartments you can get for that price in London!

Floating 🤣🤣🤣
Quirky property, not my style decor wise but interesting! 5 beds for that price is good value for a Thames view. Thanks x
Really great video, nice to see something different. How many miles in a car do you both travel in a week, must be loads
The back of the boat is known as the aft as well as the stern and the front is known as the brown the toilets you referred to are known as day heads.
Awesome
for the price I'd prefer personal space to many people nosy from flats 😂
How does the toilet situation work itself out?
Most houseboats have a septic tank like houses in the country do and you pay for it to be emptied.
So can you like get towed to the Caribbean if you fancy going away for a few months?
Might take you a few months to get there 😂
How does it get taken out to a dry rock for maintenance ?
Next Week, A look inside an identical £500,000 houseboat moored in Lancashire.
must be really cold lost count of additional electric radiators, certainly a unique way of living
Your should do more big house around the uk
tow it to Yorkshire buy it for half price and back to west London
Can you do Stockport please
I want to retire in one. A two bed house boat, one bedroom for me and a twin room for my visiting adult kids, like in eight years time, approx
