I use my gold paint pen to make the gold bales, ant then put clear fingernail polish to seal it. TFS, BJL

You don't have to spend a lot of money on "martha Stewart" tinsel glitter, or "Recollections" tinsel glitter .... I got mine on Ebay, or if You look in the nail polish sections at Meijer, Kmart, etc., there are small bottles of 'nail glitter' that's the same stuff! and for less!

Happy Bird - I know it's been awhile since you made this video but I had an idea to combine another DIY I saw on TH-cam and make my own wire links(or bails) for these beautiful hearts and make a bracelet by linking them together. For smaller wrists the smaller hearts would work beautifully but if you are so inclined the large hearts would make a 'blingtastic' bracelet! Then you would have a complete set - bracelet, earrings, necklace and even a ring if you so desired. Other shapes might be fun too, tip a square on end and you have diamond shapes for example. Just a lovely and versatile design all around.

I love Fire Mountain Gems - they are an Oregon Company after all - but some things - like the premade necklace cords are a bit less expensive at Beadaholique - sometimes. Fire Mountain does have a couple of pretty good sales each year that I try to keep an eye out for! And they seem to be the best (and least expensive) place to get polymer clays. Which I can't live with out.
I've shopped at Fire Mountain Gems for years. I always wait for their "big" sales. They have some really awesome things. :o)

can you please tell me if I can use any tacky glue and can I use triple thick. some things I get here in Australia are very expensive, you might pay 13dlrs for glitter and pay 100dlrs delivery, thats just an example....some are cheap, i have lots of glitter and different glues, love all the things on happybird, as soon as my computer goes on of a morning , the very first thing I check out is your page. congratulations for a great post. l;ove it. from Sydney NSW Australia

Hi Jeanette, Yes, they still have it. I recently bought it at both Michael's and JoAnn's. It is called "Ranger Glossy Accents." Have the employee look it up on their stock sheet so they can tell you where it is. :)

if for any reason you can't find glossy accents I'm thinking Mod Podge dimensional magic would also work for this particular project. Around our "neck of the woods" Mod Podge products are sometimes easier to find.

It looks good but I want to know how to make this with cheap materials. Any cheap alternatives you would recommend?
Really good idea! Can you give anymore examples of what we can make with these wooden hearts or wooden pieces? I have so many I don't know what to do. TY!
You could make some bracelets, attach them to headbands, glue them on to hair bands, and decorate vases, with a ribbon with a heart in the center. You could also make rings or glue them to lamp shades. Basically, you can use them to decorate anything! You could even glue them to picture frames. I hope this helped! :)

Oh yes! They should have it at Michael's. I do use a glitter by recollections called "champagne." It reminds me of a very, very light gold with a pinch of a rosy tone.

+lennie hilt Hi Lennie, regular Mod Podge is more like a white glue and the Glossy Accents is more of a clear resin. You can also use Paper Glaze or any other type of clear resin. Hope this helps!
