Great playing bought a g 2215 p-90 about six weeks ago just to see what the brand was all about. Didn't expect much but I got pleasantly suprised. Still can't believe gretch builds something this good for the money. You gave us a excellent demo thanks.
How much- if you don't mind me asking. I play jazz- this instrument was made for jazz- it's oozing out of its pours. Listen to that beautiful bottom end on the neck pick up- I must have a p90 guitar. It's either this or- maybe an Epiphone- because I can't afford what I really want-- what we all really want-- a Gibson 335. That said- I do have an old Gibson L50 or- possibly an L48- not sure. I have to take it to Gibson up in Memphis and find out- and then find out what it would cost to fix it. My dad played with Bill Box and the Dixie Drifters and picked the guitar up in the early 60s in Nashville. It had floated around several studios as a session guitar and then he bought it so- no telling who all played the thing at some point or another. He gave it to me when I was about 13 but- I wanted to play rock guitar back then and it seemed like an old relic to me- I just put it up. Glad I did really- now that I can appreciate it, and I play jazz- it's the perfect instrument for me.
I really wish they would have put binding around the f-holes, it would give the guitar a nice "finished" look and tipped the scale towards the 2622 from the 5222. I'm undecided on which one to get, but leaning towards the 5222.
I'm in the same boat man, not sure which of the two would suit me more. I currently have streamliner duo jet and the humbucker sound just isn't for me, but I'm not sure if I should switch to filtertrons or p90s
That is a beautiful guitar and wonderfully amazing tones! I'm looking into getting a Gretsch as well. Love the style! How does the neck feel compared to the Strat? Are you running 10's or 11's on the guitar? Cheers!
I actually played this today locally along with some strats and other guitars. This was BY FAR the most comfortable neck, imo! The strat is a little bit thicker "C" shape, but this felt like a shallow/extended out "U" shape. It was very comfortable! It is a gloss finish which is not everyone's preference, but the actual shape was butter, imo. 😎
@@JoMaMaz Sounds amazing! I am hoping to sell of my PRS SE 277 soon so I can pickup a Gretsch! I love the body style of the guitar and sound of the FideliSonic™ 90's. I am torn between the sounds of the 2021 - 2622 and the 2622 P90. Great color styles and sounds from both the Broad'Tron™ BT-2S and the FideliSonic™ 90!
@@JoMaMaz I felt the same way when I played one. Great neck and the unplugged tones just sang. I didn't buy that one because it had some fret sprout up around 13,14,15. Must have sat on the ship too long.
@@JoMaMaz I picked up a friend's the other day and was blown away by how much more comfortable the neck felt compared to my Les Paul and Strat, plus it is so much lighter weight. I bought one days later and LOVE IT. Also, it's gorgeous to look at!
Gretsch is the most criminally underrated brand in my opinion. I'm hooked and never looking back!
